Went to port of subs 6/5 got the number two! The manager was so helpful and had welcoming smile! Food was amazing and service was awesome!

Id like to start my review with I've been going to this place for almost 8 years. always been amazing. However i went to get a sandwich a bit later today and the lady was extremely slow and looked lost she said she was the manager but couldn't remember what sandwich me and 1 other lady ordered it was only us in the store. while in line I noticed the lettuce looked slimy and kinda gross. then I saw like 3 little bugs crawling in the lettuce. i said something to them and they looked like I was speaking another language. Instead of replacing the lettuce they said they couldn't see anything and took it away and said Sorry about that. Then proceeded to just not get new lettuce so I had to get the other kind of lettuce praying that there's no bugs on this one. I get that it was 5:30pm but they don't close till 7pm. I hope in the future they can add some kind of lid or something to prevent bugs read more

I had never eaten here before today. Now, I wish we had one of these back home! When we arrived there was a small line. They had plenty of employees to serve their guests. We were at the ordering counter within minutes. The employees were nice and efficient. The place was very clean. Most sud joints are pretty similar. The thing that made my sub a little different was the bread. They had some kind of bread with cheese and peppers on the top that was really good. I ordered a 5 inch #1 that was the perfect amount of food for me. Someone else in my party ordered a lettuce wrap that was good. All of the ingredients were fresh. I really like these sandwiches. 100% better then subway and jimmy jones! Reminds me of Togo's in California but less meat. We need a Togo's in Utah! I love they let you pick any toppings. I like how they freshly slice the meat as you order. Their Parmesan garlic bread is really good. All the employees have been really nice both times I have come. Price is reasonable I payed i think 20 for two sandwiches and chips. -1 star the sub can get a little soggy. read more

I was excited to try this place, but I spent $8 on a sub that had one meatball cut in half and didn't even cover the bread. All it would take is another half of a meatball so that 1/4 of my sub wasn't just bread. Doesn't feel crazy to have one and a half meatballs on an $8+ sandwich. We tried the classics # 1 & 5. The #1 was the best cold cut sandwich I've had in a long time! The ingredients tasted fresh, the garlic parmesan bread was awesome, and it had a ton of flavor. Also, a large sandwich is a lot of food for $8.99! The same sandwich at Jersey Mikes would have been $16, and a $16 sandwich here is 24"s!! All the staff had masks on. Every other table is blocked off and staff were quick to wipe down tables. The employee with the pink hair made great recommendations and was patient with us as it was our first time to Port A Subs. The food was amazing. We liked this better than Subway and Jimmy John's. Maybe it's because the meats and cheese are sliced fresh and not sitting in a bin for hours. The toppings (cucumbers and black olives and red onions) were sliced super thin which allowed me to taste it all without having to dislocate my jaw. The white bread wasn't anything fancy, but it was good - it wasn't dense or fluffy, but decently smushable that, again, allowed me a pass on having to dislocate my jaw. The two employees who served us were great. They worked well together and were patient with us who were first-timers. They pulled a piece of bread that was not up to standard and took the initiative to swap it out rather than try to pass it off to us. I'm excited to return, actually. I met the owner of the new store in Layton and was passing by closer to home and wanted to give it a shot. It's a pretty good sandwich! I tried the #1 on the menu. They slice the meats and cheeses right in front of you. Which is nice on the freshness, just hope you don't have an allergy to anything because it's all on the same slicer. The menu is a bit cluttered and hard to read. I was a little intimidated just trying to figure out what I wanted. Definitely wanted to try the sourdough and it was delicious. Fresh veggies and a fun mayo-mustard spread that seems to be just the right amount. I want to go back and try it again! And you can get a Ghirardelli brownie! read more

On my way to Blimpie to get my fix, I spot Port of Subs out of the corner of my eye. What...? Another sub shop to give the overblown Subway some well-deserved competition? I'm in. The first thing I noticed is that, despite the time of day - 4:30 in the afternoon - there were three other parties happily enjoying subs in there. Good sign. Curious about the comments that my fellow Yelpers had to say about a secret sandwich called The Michael, I responded to the friendly counter girl's greeting by asking about it. Turns out it's a steak-BBQ sauce deal, which really isn't my thang, so I went with the 8" Ham, Turkey and Provolone. As she was making my sandwich, explaining about their history, one of the ladies in the corner devouring her sub spoke up and said that she used to live in Reno, and now lives in West Valley. Once she found out there was a PoS* in Draper, she now drives up here twice a week to get her fix. (I get that. This is looking promising. I mean, no one would drive any sort of distance to get a...Subway, after all. Not that you'd have to; they're as abundant as church buildings around here.) I selected their fine freshly-baked wheat bread option - thank you for offering that, PoS. They have their own mustard-mayo mix dressing, which I was happy to exploit for my pleasure; along with fresh chopped romaine lettuce (impressive!), red onions, sliced tomatoes, green peppers and jalapeno peppers. I don't enjoy dill pickles, so I cavalierly dismissed that option when she suggested I try them. She said that she was also of the anti-dill-pickle persuasion, but happened to love these. Okay, I'll try the dill pickle experience. She slapped one on, and finished it all off with a happy ending of oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and oregano...because, that's just what you do. I got the sandwich home and thoroughly enjoyed it, and a side of cheesy poofs. It was very good, and disappeared in a matter of 5 to 8 minutes. Tasty meats in respectable quantities, freshly sliced provolone cheese, and crispy fresh veggies! It even came close to rivalling my beloved Blimpie. I can see myself pinch-hitting every now and then to get a PoS...especially because they offer a rarely-heard-of 8 inch size, which will come in handy when I'm 2 inches hungrier than my usual 6 inch Blimpie. I gotta say...this is a worthy sub. Pull yourself into the Port and check it out for yourself. You just may find that you're willing to drive by a few Subways to get it. *In the majority of reviews, I tend to abbreviate the name of any place by an eventual use of initials. Although I obviously haven't broken format, I wanted to offer an explanation for the use of the abridgement "PoS" - there is certainly no negative nor controversial implication whatsoever. I enjoy their subs here, they're well stacked and made to order. Really simple subs similar to Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes style with the freshly sliced deli meats on sub rolls. Line moves fast and staff always pays attention to how they make your sub. read more

I diss the know really what to expect coming into this experience, whether it's closer to a subway experience or if it's going to be like your friendly neighborhood deli. It fell pretty squarely in between the two. Better than Subway, which is a fair baseline. I even like Subway occasionally. I feel like the best comparison is probably Firehouse Subs as far as quality is concerned, which is great for the price. They shave the deli meat fresh for you, which is a nice touch but I honestly didn't taste the difference they claim I would. Service was excellent, the place was clean. It's worth trying to see if it's your favorite sandwich shop, but for me it's not. But it's pretty good and I'd eat it again. read more

This is my second time to Port of Subs, and, although I don't love subs, PoS always gives me something tasty and cheap. Today I just got a small Classic Sub #1 (ham, salami, Capovilla, pepperoni, and Provolone w/ spinach and olives). I know that's a pretty plain Jane sandwich, but the flavor was anything but plain Jane. Port Of Subs is what Subway and Blimpie could have/should have been. They have over 18 different cold subs (but will grill it for you if you are a lover of warm subs like me!), grillers, wraps, salads, side items, etc. There is plenty of choices for everyone, including people who are more picky with their sub sandwich food items. The meats are fresh tasting (not like Subway, whose meats taste turkey based), fresh veggies, etc. Their sourdough bread is DELICIOUS and severely underrated. I hope they will expand their business so that they are not simply in the Mountain West anymore. The nation deserves a fresh new take on subs, and they have it! read more

This one is another more for canvassing than anything else. It sort of reminds me of Blimpie, with freshly sliced meats (not sure anyone cares about slicing compressed meat, but whatever), though POS (hmmm) uses paper-thin slices and not a lot of them. The meat may have great flavor, I honestly have no idea since they didn't really put enough on that I could tell. It also kind of reminds me a bit of Quizno's with the toasting thing, except here, they just toss the whole thing in a panini press. Mind=blown. Wow. Groundbreaking. I wasn't too excited to hit up another chain, but while I've been to many a place I would call POS, I haven't been to one that literally abbreviates to POS, so there's that, I guess. Drink selection is asscakes, though, so no favors there. I dunno, I've had better subs and so have you, but if either of us has ever been to Subway, for instance, we've also had worse. There is little to differentiate it in sandwich combination or toppings or any of that. I'd probably like it better if they would actually put a decent amount of meat on, but it's not like I'm clamoring to go back or anything anyway. My mom said their wraps were good so I went there and got a salad. It tasted like a plastic bag packed with preservatives. they put my chicken in the microwave which I found odd. then they cut my cucumber and tomatoes with a bread knife on their dirty counter. I feel like they have the potential to be good but it just isn't there. needs lots of work and shouldn't be selling salads. read more

We ordered from Port Of Subs through an app called ezCater for a Halloween party we were having. I looked around for easy meal ideas for our party for a few days and after looking at some of the typical ones people use, I found that many places were crazy expensive AND, I would have to go pick it up myself. I found their options for catering really appealing, and the price was reasonable. I also love that they offer a veggie tray and most places don't. The other up side is that I didn't have to find a way to keep food warm like we would have had to for a taco bar or burgers etc. We ordered the Spectacular Sub Assortment which we got to pick 4 styles (Turkey & Provolone, Ham & American, Roast Beef and Provolone, and BLT) and had the bread type an assortment (white or wheat). We then had them put lettuce and tomato but had Mayo on the side so they wouldn't get soggy. We also ordered some chips, the Definitely Dessert Platter, and as I mentioned, the Vegetable Garden Splendor. You guys! not only were the sandwiches a hit, that veggie tray was AMAZING!!!! The dessert platter had brownies and cookies and they were sooo good, and ALL the sandwiches were gone at the end of the night. They had plenty of toppings on them and the bread was delicious.
