The cinnamon roll was for lack of better words, amazing! It was like a cinnamon croissant which was a pleasant surprise and it was moist and flaky and the cinnamon wasn't over powering. I've been eyeing this place for forever now, thanks to Arcade Coffee. This morning was the day I finally decided to make the drive to Calimesa. I got there around 9:30, but a couple of cookies and pastries were already sold out. I loved the music they were playing in the back. I should've asked what it was. The cashier was super nice. I bought one of each of the remaining pastries + a loaf of rye sourdough + an everything pretzel. He threw in a regular salted pretzel for me. I took a bite of everything and gave the rest to my housemates. I think my favorite was the pain au chocolate. Or maybe it was the buckwheat cookie. Or the kouign-amann. Or the...LOL. I just saw in another review that their use of ancient grains is why you don't get a bad gluten reaction? No wonder!! I was waiting for the bloat and was willing to take it but I felt so good after that I was able to work out before heading to work. Yay!! If you're someone like me who absorbs energy, you can't just eat any food. I might sound crazy to some, but others will know what I mean. The way you feel after eating food from people who actually are into and care about what they're making vs food from people who hate their job is like day and night. This bread is sooo goood! Whenever I am in this area of town, and it's the morning time, I always try to make a pit stop to see what they have left. I recommend to get any loaf and get it sliced. For some reason I find the better pre sliced vs slicing it yourself. If they have any other baked goods left, I try to always grab one to try. If you're in the area or driving thru, make a little stop and grab one! It's not too far from the freeway exit and they always have plenty of parking and they take card payment. The most amazing bakery! Healthy, natural and delicious. Special loaves on Saturday like olive and rosemary or black pepper and Parmesan. I buy the cookies when visiting friends or family and the pastry is delectable. Favorites are the cinnamon bun with cream cheese frosting, spicy artichoke croissant and pan au fromage (literally an addictive crave). Delicious sourdough bread and pastries! The kougin amann was interesting. The exterior is crispy and sweet however the interior was fluffy. Most kougin amanns tend to be flakey so that was unexpected. It tasted good but I think I prefer the flakey texture. I also got the regular crossaints which were pretty much perfect in size, taste, and texture. Cookies (got the snickerdoodle and cherry oat) were okay. The classic sourdough was the best! Nice crunch on the outside with the softest interior...ugh its so good! Make sure to check your order before leaving! They forgot to add a crossaint that I paid for and by the time I realized that, I was already at work. Overall one of the best bakeries in the IE! read more

If you want legit bread and pastries in the inland empire this is where it's at! They have the best made, most flavorful croissants you will find within at least 50 miles. The ham and cheese one has seasoning on the outside that makes it one of a kind. The chocolate croissants are Paris quality if not better (yup I just said that). The breads are all outstanding. Authentic, original great testing sourdough bread South of Los Angeles. Bakery is located in Calimesa on Calimesa Blvd next to Thai Restaurant and George's Store. I live over 50 miles away and is still worthy trip for me. They are selling fast but you can call them and asked them to keep your bread selection for you - to make sure they still have it when you arrive. They also have great selection of other breads and pastries. It is not a fancy place with seating inside , coffee and wine. They will hand you your order through window. Why there is so much good bread in Europe but never in America? Everything has so much sugar in it. I was so glad and excited when our friend recommended Village Bread to us. They open at 8:30 but when I arrived at 8:45 the line was already super long. Spiced Rye is their Saturday special but when it's my turn at 9:20, it's already sold out. Bummer. We got their Whole Rye, Country Sourdough, Classic Sourdough, and Kouign Amann. Kouign Amann is the only sweet item we got and it's so so good. My favorite bread is the Country Sourdough but my husband loves the Whole Rye. It's a very dense bread. You only need to cut a very thin piece and eat it with butter on top. It's amazing. We also gave half of the bread to my in-laws and finish the rest in a week. I highly recommend this place. read more
