I'm so glad this spot opened. Amazing food! It would be awesome if they had gluten free bread but in the meantime they offer lettuce wrap style. Ive only tasted the ice cream and it's delicious, next time I'll have to grab a cone. I love the atmosphere, I'm assuming this spot was a recent remodel and it looks awesome. Staff is super kind and enthusiastic, always feel welcome. I've even seen the chef come out to ask how everyone's doing. Definitely feels like ohana. This spot is the best! I'll be back soon.

Great people, great prices and a very focused menu help make this a successful new business. Bring your kids as there is a little playground in the back. The sliders are a quarter pounders and use local beef and local bread. They have great ice cream from Tropical Dreams and generous shakes made from that ice cream.

Ono grinds & vibes so good this spot is special. What did we do before Aloha Keiki came along? Well, we paid almost $20 for burgers and nearly $10 for fries, Waimea or Big Island. AND thing is quality and price-wise this spot is a cut above. $5.50 big cheeseburger sliders made with local beef (one cow at a time, not industrially processed), local grown leaf lettuce and tomato, homemade garlic sauce?! AND how are the fries always hot always crispy always plentiful and only $4.50 per order?! And this place is for so many reasons family friendly, but it is also Wallet friendly and one of the few places in Waimea (like Earl's) by and for local residents, price-wise. And $2.85 for a scoop of locally made tropical dreams, ice cream with homemade waffle cones. I love a spot that only has a few menu items, especially when those few items are outstanding. We applaud the 'Ohana behind AKP & wish them continued and well-deserved success. this place often gets compared to In-N-Out but In-N-Out got nothing on this beautiful spot. Not to miss. And they sell handmade cookies & confections too!

We rolled in with a family of 10, which is usually enough to make any restaurant quietly panic. To make things even more interesting, our group was split in two, with the second half arriving about 20 minutes later. The staff didn't miss a beat. They made sure everyone was accommodated and able to enjoy lunch together without making us feel like we'd just thrown a wrench into their afternoon. That's the kind of service you don't forget. Speaking of service, the wait staff was warm, friendly, and incredibly efficient. They struck that perfect balance of making you feel welcome without hovering over the table asking if you're "still working on that." Now for the food... wow. The BBQ sampler was loaded with smoky, tender goodness, the poke nachos disappeared faster than I could claim a second helping, and the tacos were absolutely delicious. Every bite reminded us why people rave about this place. And then... dessert arrived. The banana cream pie and the chocolate cake didn't just end the meal they stole the show. If you leave without trying one (or both), you may want to reconsider your life choices. The rustic décor and relaxed atmosphere make this BBQ joint feel like you're eating at a friend's house and if your friend happened to be an incredible pitmaster. Fantastic food, outstanding service, and a staff that genuinely cares about their guests. Fish and the Hog isn't just worth the drive it's worth planning your day around. Five stars without hesitation. We'll definitely be back... preferably wearing stretchy pants.

The flavor wasn't kicking nor was it really that spicy at all. BBQ Sampler Plate w/ fries & grilled pineapple $37.95 - Good price point for a sampler. We've eaten a ton of BBQ around the US and the brisket was one of my favorites. The ribs had a sweetness I really enjoyed. Reuben Spring Rolls $16 - Not pictured but loved them! Chocolate Cake $12 - Since it was my actual birthday, my partner wanted to get me a slice of cake but boy are they huge. It was absolutely delicious but we had to take it to go. I would recommend they have smaller slices as eating a ton of BBQ and devouring a huge slice of cake is due for a heart attack. Ambiance 5/5 Got a nice table by the window minus the horsefly. Service 3/5 The lady who sat us and took our drink orders is extremely sweet and friendly. Our service was just okay, she didn't really add to our experience as if there was something on her mind.

When we walked in, it was very lively, with a singer and guitarist, and most tables were full! We decided to split a double cheeseburger with onion rings along with a side of fries. The burger was SO good, it was thin but also filling at the same time. The onion rings were super tasty and the fries were also very good! Overall great experience. As someone originally from the Midwest, it's hard to turn down a good burger, so we had to try it. When I tell you this was arguably the best smash burger I've had in my life's I'm not lying. I ordered "The Dubs" which is basically a double smash burger with cheese. For the toppings, I ordered their smash sauce (insanely good!), onions, and pickles. The burgers also come with a side of salt and pepper fries by default, but I ordered some onions rings as well. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, with the onions being sweet, and the batter being a nice consistency and not too thick. The fries were also great, and I loved the thicker, more coarse pepper they use to season them. The place appears to do a great amount of business, but only judging by their reviews, but by the fact that it was very busy during dinner time. The atmosphere inside is very enjoyable, with a small bar up near the front counter, sports on some TVs in side, and live music (island themed) was also being played inside. If you want a great burger, this is your spot!

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

Waimea Butcher Shop is a good place to try them, (it is also a restaurant)! You will be served with warm & friendly service. I found out that I enjoy the taste of fresh grass fed beef, while my family did not. They did not think the meat was fatty or tender enough. This is because grass fed cows are much leaner and don't have their feed come to them. Anyway, I enjoyed my dining experience here and if you're curious, you should definitely come and give it a try! If you're inclined and know how to cook a mean steak, and staying somewhere with a kitchen, grab your supplies here.

I am so happy that my husband & I got to experience this restaurant while in Hawai'i. For starters, we ordered their special lobster salad (with lobster, mango, avocado, and pickled hearts of palm) and their mushroom side dish. For entrees, we ordered the spicy lobster ravioli and their mushroom side curried macadamia nut fish (swordfish). Each bite was a little taste of fishy heaven for both dishes. The exterior, and interior, of the building is nothing special. As a matter of fact, that's part of what I loved about it; it helps you realize it's an all around fantastic food joint, not just somewhere that charges overpriced amounts for average food because of the "vibe." It's extremely busy inside this place, and staff was extremely friendly and pretty quick with turning out orders. I ordered a two entree plate, which consisted of their teriyaki chicken and pina colada shrimp, per the recommendation of the woman taking my order. The shrimp was incredible and the pins colada sauce that it comes with it's something I now dream about! The chicken was also great. It's dark meat, which is something to keep in mind in case you're a pickier eater, but the char and flavor of it was wonderful. For the sides I ordered rice and their mac salad. I'm not usually a mac salad kind of guy, but this changed my mind and I can now say I'm a true fan. By the time everything is totaled up, what looks like a casual lunch turns into a very expensive meal. If you're looking for a splurge, the food is fine. If you're expecting a laid-back burger-and-taco spot with reasonable prices, you may experience some sticker shock.
