Dr. Beckman is incredible. Not only does he know his craft, but he takes his job very seriously. I've never felt as cared for by a chiropractor as him--after my adjustment, he will spend 5-10 minutes massaging the swollen muscles and doing muscle rehab with me to avoid future discomfort. He is sincere, energetic, and enthusiastic, and he knows how to help with any possible pain you are feeling. Sandy's massages are also wonderful--she is very sweet and easy to talk to, and easily gives the best massages of my life. I see her for clinical/therapeutic massages, and her massage was more effective at reducing shoulder swelling than physical therapy was. I cannot recommend Village Chiropractic enough. Dr Beckmann literally fixed my issue in one session. My left foot had been tingling for a couple weeks, and it was freaking me out. I went to the doctor, and had blood work done to make sure I wasn't diabetic or anything like that. Results came back fine, and my doctor just said "well, your shoes are probably too tight." Um, no. Remembered Dr. Beckman, who I had seen a couple years prior for crazy neck pain that came out of nowhere (which he also fixed in one session). Went to see him, and he asked me what I was feeling, when it started happening, etc. Then he did some magic (pulled my legs, manipulated my back, which felt amazing), but it was only when he massaged my IT band that the tingling came roaring back (which means that was the thing causing the issue). I've been dealing with my bad back since I was 18 years old after an injury. I've seen several Chiropractors over the years and Dr. Beckman is one of the best I've ever seen. I had suffered from a non-stop headache for over a month, which resulted from being hit by a drunk driver. My CT and MRI scans had come back normal. Let me start by saying I am always in pain. Always a back ache, always my neck sore, shoulder, hips, chronic headaches- something is always hurting on me. I initially came to Dr. Beckham with shoulder and neck pain. After fixing my shoulder, and tweaking my hips back into place, he seemingly just looked at my neck and asked if I got headaches often- the answer being YES at least 3-4 a week and lasting almost all day!!! He did some neck adjustments and active release at the base of my neck and let me tell you I have been HEADACHE FREE FOR TWO WEEKS. Decided to buy a package of massages earlier this year to deal with some chronic issues. Sandy is great! She knows what to really focus on, and helps with stretching as well as the massage. Doesn't get much better than this. What I really love about village chiropractic is the easy atmosphere. It is a cozy and comfortable space without that doctors office feeling. You won't find any odd instruments or machines that send disruptive electrical pulses through your body. Just hands. It is also a very family oriented and open environment. Village Chiropractic is ran both by Chris and his wife Heidi. Both extremely friendly and really just awesome people. They have a lot to share and I learn more about them every time I go (once a week). Really makes me feel comfortable that they're open to sharing their lives. You can also schedule massage and as far as I know there are a few options as to whom you have massage you. Again this is great because you can find the massage practitioner that you fit with best. I had originally started going because my partner was going. After I saw her positive results I was convinced I needed to go since I was suffering from some mild but at times painful back and neck pains which have disappeared. I've noticed an increased flexibility in my neck and overall feel much better. I also discovered that I have a broken back from a bicycling accident a year or so ago that I never had anyone look at. This is what could have been leading to my lower back pain which no longer exists to a noticeable degree thanks to Chris. I've seen Dr Beckman several times over the past 2 years, typically when something in my upper back or neck gets in bad shape from sports, traveling or stress. The day before Thanksgiving, something went out and I was in incredible, excruciating pain. By Thanksgiving morning, I was essentially bed ridden, covered in icy hot pads and had taken way-too-many Advil, and nothing was helping. I called Dr Beckman's office and left voicemail; hoping that maybe he would be open on Friday (day after Thanksgiving). He called back a couple hours later - on Thanksgiving Day! - and said he would meet me in his office. I almost cried when I pulled up and there he was, with his wife and little boy, waiting for me...on Thanksgiving Day. He adjusted me, removed what felt like a spear in my back and the knife in my neck, and wished me well. I have never known any person who provides any service to do anything this extraordinary, and certainly not a doctor. I have so much gratitude, I am so very thankful for him and thankful for the patience of his beautiful family to interrupt their holiday for me. One of the nicest surprises of 2013 was to experience chiropractic therapy with Dr. Beckman. I recently had knee replacement to correct a bad limp and torn meniscus. This guy is the "Horse Whisperer" of chiropractors! I told this to some friends at dinner and they laughed. Then they all wrote his name down. Chris Beckman is something special. I went to see him a few weeks ago at the urging of my husband. My back had gone out after days of yoga, cycling, then staining my deck, while reaching to close my car door. Ugh! So bad, like I haven't had in years, spasms with every step, grunting from pain! I arrived at Village Chiropractic with no great expectations, believing my condition would just have to run its months-long course, as it has in the past. I was so wrong! Dr. Beckman had me 80% better within half an hour! He really took his time with me and deeply messaged the muscles in my back, feeling his way along, to get the spasms to subside. It's almost like he's "listening" with his hands. He also did deep pressure work on the left side of my stomach and then up to my scapula and neck. It hurt somewhat but I could really tell he was addressing the problem. Dr. Beckman has been treating me for about a month, still takes his time, doe the deep tissue work and some adjustments. He also gave me stretching exercises that have really helped my back. What a relief, I am so pleased! I'm back to my very physical life. I have a bulging disc in my back that has caused me pain for quite some time. I was about to have surgery, but I decided that I would seek chiropractic care first.
