If I could give a -star I would. I can safely say that 1. The food (eggs Benedict) was horrible. The hash browns were greasy and tasteless. I asked for eggs over medium and got pretty much eggs out of their shells. The ham tasted like dirty grill grease. 2. The service was so-so (not enough servers to serve the long line of people waiting to be seated). 3. Ambiance, what Ambiance? The restaurant was dirty, from the horrible, and I mean horrible filthy chairs, floors to the women's restroom. The women's restroom reminded me of a rundown gas station restroom; greasy, dirty and the toilet was broken. Don't get me started on the disgusting floors. I don't believe those chairs at the tables have EVER been cleaned. Simply nasty, dirty and caked with greasy dirt. The paper on the wall where we were seated was falling off leaving ugly glue trails. The bench at the front where you sit waiting on your table, had a huge tear that had been doctored with masking tape. I can't believe this restaurant passed any health code standards. I went this place because my boyfriend recommended, his dad used to take her mom here, when they live near Saint Augustine. This is a magic - really special place for him. It's where you can get your breakfast yeah an omelette or a pancake if if you are like me, a pancake lover, you will enjoy it. I recommend going earlier or be ready to wait at least 30 minutes because it's always busy but totally worth it. There is a free parking available. I wanna mention that because normally you need to pay for parking which is like 20 bucks all day. We bought a banana pie to go and it was delicious. We ate it on our way back home to Miami Dade. They have a different kind of pies and flavors, but we ordered banana because it was part of their recommendations of the staff. Place is clean and service is great. Had an okay meal here. Service was quick, staff friendly tho' appeared tired in the 6 pm hour. We were sat in an area that worked for us, away from others. The meals were good, the portions were huge and they allowed us to sub an item. On the dislike side, it's tough to see meal prices at $17 and $18 in a diner. Two of us ate for $50 plus tip, only one drink and no dessert. All the pies were sold out except apple. Disappointing. The worst part was 2 of the 3 people serving us were apparently sick with coughs that made us fearful of catching it, let alone unappetizing to see your server coughing up a lung. Please stay home when you're sick. or wear a mask and gloves! They also were extremely social with each other when it came to refilling water, bringing check. I decided to go here for breakfast this morning. Parking was slightly difficult to find, but after a few minutes I managed to find a parking space. The food here looks really good and they stay open slightly late too. I decided to order their 2-2-2 breakfast. Which, consists of two fluffy panels, two eggs, I choice over easy eggs, and either two stripes of crispy bacon or two sausage links. I decided to go with the sausage links. To wash all that generous portions of food down was some fresh and flavorful coffee, which I forgot to include within this picture. The service was really good this morning. I for sure thought when walking in I was going to wait 30 mins. Groups of 9 to 11 people were waiting and on a Sunday, it's expected. The hostess said it was 15 - 20 mins so I set my timer since I was going to be outside. I came in and within 12 mins I was sat down! Wow!! Speedy service on a sunday! I ordered the Rio Grande skillet with carnitas. Seriously it was delicious and I had to have their world famous pie for dessert. I ordered their lemon pie. Our waitress was great she sat us took our drink order, gave us time to look over menu and came back timely. We ordered breakfast for dinner "brinner" and all of our food was cooked correctly and tasted good. It is a typical Village Inn located right before the busy part of St. Augustine. I visited this restaurant on December 21st. When we arrived it was pretty busy so there was a little wait. I chose the Inn-Credible VIB and got a half Belgian waffle, French toast, fried egg and bacon. The French toast was a bit undercooked but everything else was good. When I think of Village Inn the first thing that comes to mind is "Pie" and today is Wednesday a.k.a. "Free Pie Day" at Village Inn. I decided which slice I wanted before I looked at the breakfast menu it would be Strawberry Rhubarb, hands down the only one for me when available. Today that would only be a fantasy being we were just starting our day and there was no way I was eating this pie during breakfast service and the trip back to the RV before exploring St. Augustine wasn't an option even for free pie. The restaurant was fairly busy but there was no wait for a booth next to a window, Lisa arrived and introduced herself and gave us the full welcoming speech, I heard the same exact speech three other times during our visit verbatim, we ordered our drinks and I reviewed the pie menu knowing I wanted pancakes and link sausages. We placed our order and realized we were seated next to the community table that was filled with friendly locals that no doubt have been meeting here for years and apparently Lisa our server was part of the group since every moment in between her job responsibilities she spent hanging out at that table. Our waffles and pancakes arrived, delivered without a word or butter, they looked delicious but the absence of any additional butter was an issue so we asked Lisa in passing for some - she made several trips to the community table without stopping, after another 5-10 minutes we were able to distract her enough to hand signal "butter" as our breakfast cooled. Finally it arrived with what seemed to be a routine apology by this time I was over the entire experience and was ready to get back to enjoying our time in St. Augustine so we finished our beverages and walk to the counter to cash out - the hostess was friendly and asked us about our food like it was programmed in her but I felt the smile was genuine so it ended on a good note... read more

Was nice and hot - love the warm maple syrup and plenty of butter for my pancakes. Wife had the pick four - scrambled eggs plus two pieces of French toast with hash brown potatoes and fresh fruit. Went in for breakfast and it was a half hour wait. The food came out cold and under cooked. The cook made my eggs hard when I asked for over easy. The waitress Ashley was rude and unprofessional. The sausage is pre cooked and never hit the skillet. Raw hash browns were under cooked and white. My milk was warm and we had to speak to the Manger. She was very nice offered to fix everything and took the check I dont mind paying for a good breakfast but the cook was horrible. The poor manager apologized and the rude waitress said nothing. I felt bad that the Manager took the heat for a horrible cook and a waitress with no manners! I will never return. Its a social club and the food is awful. read more

I've been here multiple times. I usually get a breakfast meal cause I love breakfast food. It was a recommendation from my neighbor and when I looked at the location and building I thought "really". Looks can be deceiving so go on in and get a great tasting meal. To me it tastes just like you left your mother's kitchen. I think the locals know about it cause when I go I think it's full of them. To me, The Village Inn appeared to be two steps above a knockoff of a Denny's in value, ambiance and cleanliness. They also offer a wide variety of pies which were delicious. This was off the beaten path of historic downtown but close enough to get to. Went twice. One with a party of 9, no wait, where everywhere else was telling us they couldn't serve us or it would be 2+ hours wait. The food and service were superb. Enjoyed it very much. Next night went with one adult and one child. Has a wait of 3-5 minutes. Not too bad, but it was not busy. Seemed like it was understaffed that night. We had a waitress who was training another waitress. They did great, however there were a couple things she forgot or we would have to wait for a refill of water but otherwise it was great! Well, I came on a mini-vacay with my boyfriend to St. Augustine and decided on eating a little breakfast, we came across The Village Inn, it's a combination of Ihop and Denny's mixed together. We ended ordering 3x3, which consisted of three pieces of French toast with powdered sugar, three slices of bacon and three eggs that ended up scrambled. I took a bite and it was very delicious, since I'm dieting the breakfast was shared with my boyfriend. My boyfriend also ordered grits with cheese. The grits came like ten minutes later without the cheese and I found really bland. My boyfriend ended sprucing it up with some butter and salt and pepper, personally it still did not have enough seasoning at least for me. We ended up eating the whole breakfast, everything tasted very fresh, very reasonable pricing. I noticed a majority of the people were not wearing mask and but the tables did have like a upper clear cover for Co-Vid. At the end of the day breakfasct was awesome and we enjoyed ourselves. A lot of food at a decent price. You won't feel cheated about the portion sizes. Food itself was solid. The staff was attentive in spite of it being very busy for Father's day. Pretty much every meal here comes with 3 pancakes which is definitely a plus. I saved about two dollars opting to just add chocolate chips instead of adding the chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Soup looked like cheap can soup. Few carrots and these tiny thick noodles. I tasted the soup and it tasted sour, almost like vinegar was in it. They took it back and gave me this tiny little fruit cup. I also ordered a tea and piece of pie. 21.00 before tip. Was not worth the price. Save the trouble if you want a cheese omelet don't come here for breakfast. I've come to the Village Inn since 2010. The last 6 months I've dealt with how is the Omelet made? Omelets have ingredients on the INSIDE. Well some nights I go I get cheese where it belongs on the Inside. Some nights I get an egg folded with some cheese on top. THAT is NOT an omelet. So last time I was in I even asked the waitress. She said "oh my gosh! Yes I've had people complain too they didn't get cheese on the inside. It's supposed to be inside with some shredded on top." So tonight once again, I go in and sure enough, "the cook the waitress warned me about" turns out he was on. I got the damn egg with shredded cheese on top. So tonight's crew said " oh that's how we make it." Well Friends..... you've lost a local who comes in 2-3 times a week with either my husband or my son or both. We went to Village Inn for "Breakfast for Dinner" and they did not disappoint. There is ample parking in their own lot. The hostess and waitress were very personable and friendly. We ordered from their Inn-credible VIB (village inn breakfast) menu. My eggs, bacon, hash browns, and French toast were perfect! The French toast was so delicious with syrup and butter, a little crunchy on the edges and soft on the inside. My husband had eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast. His bacon and eggs were perfect, but he didn't care for the breakfast potatoes, he said they were too much like French fries. But he also loved the French toast. The ambiance was casual and relaxed. Had never been to Village Inn before (I don't think they have them down by us) but decided to give them a try for breakfast when we were in St. Augustine. Everyone is sooo welcoming and sweet from the moment you walk in the door! For breakfast I had the French Toast combo, so I chose to get that with eggs and bacon. The Village Inn in St Augustine is a hidden treasure. I've been to St Augustine many many times and until a friend told me about this spot I'd never heard of it. The food is good but the pie is divine! I ordered a combo meal with a grown-up grilled cheese, but I paid a little extra to have a whole sandwich instead of a half, and the tomato soup. My meal was delicious. But my favorite part of the evening was the coconut cream pie. I was with three other friends and we all ordered a different piece of pie so we could sample each other's pie lol. I loved each bite of every pie. I only ate half of my pie so I could take the other half home and have it later. They also sell whole pies and the prices are very reasonable. They were taking holiday orders when I visited last month. If you like good food and delightful desserts the Village Inn should be added to your must visit list! read more
