The food is almost tasteless and like plastic. It's a busy place but it's not a great place for food.

Hands down best pizza in Northern San Diego. It is the best pizza for its price range in all of SoCal in my opinion. My wife is new to the area and she agrees that it is some of the best pizza she has had. Great service and they are very friendly here. They can get busy on weekends because of how good the food is. A local staple. A lot of locals will flock here with their families or make orders in advance on the weekend. So you may want to call ahead of time. If you have a first bad experience, I recommend giving them another try. My wife had a first bad experience, but now she can't get enough. Literally asks me every week if we can go. Truly a hidden gem. This is quality pizza. There was a previous review stating that it was worse than Costco. That is laughable. They aren't even in the same ball park and I love Costco pizza. My guess is that the bad reviews are from people having to wait for the pizza during peak hours of business. It is a shame that they let their frustrations out on their inability to plan ahead and be reasonable. Once again Village Pizza was my go to place mainly because the restaurant is close by, and we order pickup by phone. But my family, who are very picky about their pizza, are fans of Village Pizza. The crust was perfect, the sauce was just right in spiciness. Today's toppings were garlic, jalapeños, and pepperoni for me, the meat lover. The youngest got a small cheese pizza and ate half all by herself. We left not a crumb it was that good. There's not a lot to rave about when it comes to Bonsall, California; I've lived in this strange, in-between "town" for a year now, and there's nothing much here worth recommending (sorry if that offends some long-time Bonsallians?...Bonsallites...?...Residents of Bonsall...) Village Pizza though. Pizza done right, made quickly, and priced nicely. Sandwiches, salads, and wings are good here too! Menu also shows PASTA(!), but I've yet to try. This was a family-favorite and go-to during the pandemic, and continues to get our business on a fairly regular basis. I live just up the street, but had never tried Village Pizza before. I can't believe what I was missing out on this entire time! I was having friends over when we were deciding what to order in and I remembered that one of my friends is gluten free. I looked up some options on Yelp and VP came up. Everyone was happy with the flavors, textures, & ingredient ratios. They have a really great range in size options too, so we all got what we wanted. Yes, Village Pizza offers more than just pizza. But when you walk in, you're gonna smell pizza baking in the oven and that's what you're going to want. *Tip: call in your order, takes about 20-25 minutes to cook. I ordered a medium size - half "House Special" and half pepperoni/mushroom - to go. Dining area was very clean with TVs. Employees were friendly and sincere. Bathroom was clean too. First bite ... at home. I gotta tell you, I like a crispness to my crust and not only the ends but every bite. That being said, no crispness here. The chew to the dough was good and the sauce complimented well with the ingredients. Fresh ingredients of mushrooms, onions, blk. olives, sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella and Canadian bacon. For me, I really enjoyed the smokiness of the Canadian bacon which kicked up the umami factor and resulted in a 5 star rating from me. My wife enjoyed her pepperoni/mushroom but would only give it a 3 star rating. (Boooo) Next time (yes, I'm coming back) we're eating at Village Pizza . . . Why? Bite into them and hear the crunch of skin, these are great wings. The sauce is faverful but not over the top, had ranch as a dipping sauce but rarely used it, Pizza was next and this too was. great. We have been customers for 10 years. We have had really great service and some mediocre service. We order the same thing everytime. My wife usually calls in the order. I pick it up on my hour plus drive home. We have slowed down on outside food after Covid and inflation. I wrote down the order in my wife's phone next to VP phone number. She doesn't have to remember the order that way. So I was tired it was late (around 7) went in to get my pizza. The guy at the counter asked my name. They couldn't find my order. He asked what my order was. I told him by the guy cutting my pizza said that wasn't what we ordered. It was missing pepperoni. Everyone looked at each other and the mgr asked him what happened. The pizza cook said she didn't order the pizza with pepperoni. The mgr asked I would expect stood behind his employee. The solution they wanted to do was to just throw some pepperoni on the pizza. He was going to them slip it back in the oven. The pizza was already cooked and almost over done. I was Tired and don't want to argue. I gave them a 20.00 for my 15.00 pizza. I left and went home. I still had a 5-6 Mile drive home. I got kind of salty as I drove home. O walked in sat down are one piece and threw he rest away. It was awful and now my wife is angry because I became angry. I heard her call VP and they yelled at her and she was yelling back. There wet no winners here. The real solution should have been we are sorry for the Mis communication can we make you another pizza. That didn't happen and was never offered. I should have never accepted the pizza and left. Now I have a quandary. Do I never go back? I sent an email to the owner. I didn't really expect a call back. I expected an email. No communication. So they must be doing so well that my business means nothing. The other thing they need to do is to read the order back to the customer. The guy that took the order admitted he didn't do that. You guys! This plastic crap was in my salad from Village pizza this last weekend!! I spoke with 2 different managers who were both very rude and condescending! ESPECIALLY the "higher up manager" (her name starts with an F, but I can't fully recall it because it's a bit different). I called About it on Sunday and spoke to one manager, and he wasn't able to help me so he told me that he would have his manager call me back. 10 minutes later he called me back and said she was "unavailable until Tuesday" and that I could either call her or she could call me. I told him she needed to call me. She never did. I called her today and spoke with her and she said she didn't have the time to call me yesterday or today. I explained to her the situation and she was extremely condescending and rude. She then proceeded to tell me that she knew that the plastic was from the cooks lining their sink drain with plastic and they must have grabbed it when they rinsed my lettuce for my salad. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! She was so nonchalant. I can't even understand it! I seriously could've gotten so sick from this! She didn't give two shits about what happened. Was trying to just refund me for one salad. I told her I eat there all of the time and was really bummed about it. I told her I was really upset and she needed to do more. She also decided to tell me that she didn't have time to talk to me and that if I needed to call her another day that I could do that. SERIOUSLY?! How is a business run like this! Although the wait was a bit (thank goodness we ordered garlic & cheese bread, it settled our hungrly, growling stomachs), it was well worth it. You walk to the counter to place your order and then have a seat either indoors or outdoors. We had pizza with four toppings, pepperoni, red onion, mushroom and garlic. It was delicious. Although the garlic bread had very little garlic flavor it was toasted perfectly. And the cheese bread was yummy. The guys behind the counter did a good job keeping the line moving steadily.
