We were past hungry when we found this pizza place. We decided to stop looking for food and just go in, fingers crossed that they had slices everyone would like. There were a bunch of pizzas on the counter to choose from - maybe 5. There was also a stuffed pizza and sliders made on garlic knots. There a sandwich menu on the wall, but really we were here for pizza. In the end, I caved for the stuffed pizza. It was filled with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, peppers, tomato, and cheese! It was FULL to the brim. I recommend getting a side of red sauce to dip it in. The others with me ordered: chicken bacon ranch pizza, pepperoni pizza, and broccoli/ricotta pizza. Throw in a meatball slider and we called it a day. There are 6-8 tables inside if you eat in. It's a bit run down looking (inside and out). There's also an ice cream window attached to the building but it wasn't opened for the season at this point. The food hit the spot and was inexpensive. There are probably a lot of pizza places in the area since this is a college town, so I don't know how it compares to the others. read more

Awesome place! Pizza is always so good, staff is friendly, and owners are dedicated to your delight! Been there several times when in the area, and everything has been fantastic. And don't forget the ice cream!! Our first time there, the pizza was cooked PERFECTLY!!!! You know sometimes you get a pizza when the cheese is barely melted and and it seems like the place was just in a hurry to pull your pizza out and put the next one in? Well Village Pizza is NOT that place! Our pizza was piping hot, and had a wonderful roasted look to it. Cheese fully melted (but not scorched), pepperoni was toasted nicely. So, so good! We've also fallen in love with their "stuffed" pizza. The veggie stuffed is our favorite so far. Anyway, what else can I say... EAT!! read more

I used to eat here as a college kid. Now I came here with my children to eat ices and the tables outside were absolutely disgusting. Literally looks like they have never been cleaned. This carnivore LOVES the stuffed veggie pizza! Actually- everything I've had has been delish! The eggplant or meatball sliders, the mozzarella "wedges"- no sticks for this place, even the boring old plain cheese pizza that my hubby eats is great! Thin, but crispy crust- not oily! Absolutely the worst sandwich I have ever had! Cheap tasteless ingredients. Slimy American cheese. The bacon was nasty little crumbles. I ordered the vegan pizza and received the gluten-free crust. It was disgusting "Crust" is a misnomer really, because we nearly broke our teeth on it. I phoned to inquire why the crust hadn't risen, and was told defensively "we don't make the vegan crust here." This was puzzling to me since I assumed I was getting the regular crust. Finally the manager said the vegan pizza comes with gluten-free crust because the regular dough has eggs in it. There was no explanation offered as to why I hadn't been told this when I placed the order. I will not be returning. read more

So happy to see that this place has NEW OWNERS that now offer a full VEGAN menu with many GLUTEN FREE options! YES! They also offer so many yummy dipping sauces, which is great, and they even have ice cream, including vegan ice cream! Yum yum yum! Oh Man, Vegan Cheese for the spouse and Tomatillo Sauce, in place of tomato sauce, for me, on a thin crispy crust with eggplant on half and roast garlic and spinach on half. I'm a happy man and the vegan spouse is happy. Total Win Win! read more

Although there are only two other people in place there are two staff. The senior staff member asked Junior to assist us so she could continue making pizzas; he seem to have trouble understanding most everything we were asking. All we wanted was three slices of pizza warmed and 3 sodas to go,as we were in a hurry On our way to a lecture. They did have sliders in the case which looked interesting as they were done on garlic knot and I read and other reviews. Customer behind us requested them so they appear to be popular. It was nice to see that beer was available in an another night I might've had one with my pizza. Unfortunately the pizza was not warm enough for me. But it was tasty. Our favorite pizza place in town. Village has kinda an 80s vibe about it. Nothing chic or new about the place but they tick the boxes that matter. Village serves good tap beer along with their tasty pizza. They have both patio and booth seating. Plus a couple of cool retro pinball and video games to amuse the kids (and parents) while we wait. Fun to come with the dog in the summer and eat outside. I've only just tried this place recently but have ordered to-go twice and delivery once. I honestly can't explain how good this pizza is and every employee I've talked to is very nice. When I ordered delivery the other night the food came in about the time or less that they said and was still very hot and fresh which I'm so thankful for. This place is under new ownership since earlier this year (2019) so if you haven't tried it lately, give it a try. They are making improvements, including more menu items and now beer on tap, as well as bottled and canned beer and wine. A group of us stopped by on a recent Friday and ordered some food. I had a specialty slice loaded with spinach, and it was very good. Others in our party had a stuffed pizza (top and bottom crusts) which came with a container of pizza sauce to dip into, and they liked it a lot. The crust on the pizza is just right, with enough firmness to fold and stay straight as you hold it. Good quality cheese, and the sauce is delicious too. We had some ice cream for dessert and I enjoyed my Panda Paws cone (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter chocolate cups) and one of us also had the cappucino ice cream which was a group favorite. All in all, a very casual and comfortable place where you can get good quality and very reasonably priced food, ice cream and drinks. Eat inside or outside, and there is even drive-thru for pickup! Used to like going to village for ice cream after our kids' ball games. Yesterday, 5/2/19, our ice cream experience was unsatisfactory. Cone sizes are not standard, using small, regular, medium, large. Small is more aptly named a kiddie size or baby size. The ice cream tasted and felt texturally like what you might find at a Chinese buffet or college dining hall - super cold and grainy. Chocolate sprinkles tasted stale. Service was slow and inefficient. Village Pizza has a corner on the soft serve market but would do better if it improved quality of soft serve. We won't go back for ice cream. The pizza is DELICIOUS! I went there last week for a make your own pizza party - it was so fun and such a great idea- they showed us how to make it and provided us all the supplies and toppings and it came out perfect! The sliders and garlic knots are also delicious- I love that the garlic knots came marinara dipping sauce . I will definitely be back- I'm from New York City so I know good pizza is hard to find when u leave the boroughs but at village pizza I felt right at home. The Pizza here is pretty good. it's right off the rail trail so I usually come through for a slice after taking a long walk/run. The staff are always doing a good job keeping the place clean and making good NY pie. They also have an Ice cream stand which you can easily get stuff from during the summer. The definition of mediocre. Had the chicken roll-bland flavorless greasy and just boring. The sauce same review. Just blah. Had a "regular " sized cone-I detest not having standard sizing. What is wrong with small medium and large! The vanilla was awful. Again tasteless and grainy texture. Almost 4 dollars and it was hollow inside the twist. Chocolate sprinkles also flavorless. The place is dirty. There is a birds nest above the ice cream window. And dead worms in the counter. One and only chance given. Won't be back. read more

I totally disagree with the reviews of this place. We have tried about 20 other pizzerias in the area, most of which are overrated and overpriced and village pizza is still our favorite pizza. I grew up on great pizza from Philadelphia and NYC and this place has that solid, no frills great cheese pizza. Also, the cheesesteaks are great! They make their own bread and it's best cheesesteak I've had in the area and again, I'm from the Philly area. I recommend giving this place a chance for just solid good pizza and cheesesteaks. Friends who live in the area order from this place a lot and enjoy it so we ordered together recently. I ordered a roast beef and fresh mozzarella hero - but they had no fresh mozzarella - huh? Ok so I had to settle for sliced mozzarella - but it they used shredded mozzarella - like the kind they would put on a pizza. The roast beef was of good quality but it wasn't as rare as I like it to be. The "bread" was pizza dough shaped into a hero roll and then baked - the taste was strange. We shared an order of wings - did not like the sauce at all - and we shared a pizza - the cheese slid right off the pie which meant it wasn't cooked all the way - and the sauce was very bland. If I do order from them again, I might try a calzone or stromboli and see if these are any better, but otherwise I would not order from them again. read more
