The amazing part of this building is extremely FUR BABY friendly and has A BEAUTIFUL AND LONG path throughout the whole building! And it is kept up every day and looks beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly and on top of everything. The only downside I could say is the air conditioning it's not central error because it's an older building so it's wall unit that doesn't really do the job, if you have a bedroom, there's no air-conditioning in there. You have to use a unit of your own. Actually, the one that I have in my bedroom works better than the one in the living area. (this is no fault of the staff. It's a corporation that should switch them out.!!) i've been very happy here! read more

Whose Privacy Are They Protecting? The Tenants or the Criminals? I have lived here for over a year and I feel a responsibility to be honest with anyone considering signing a lease here. My car has been broken into and vandalized multiple times in the parking structure. Unknown substances have been found on my steering wheel and on the inside windows of my vehicle. My apartment was entered while I was not home on multiple occasions. The hardware component of my balcony lock was removed and stolen, leaving the lock non-functional. An internal electrical component disappeared from my Litter Robot's circuit board -- those do not just disintegrate. My furniture has been damaged. Clothing was cut up inside my unit. Additional clothing was stolen from the laundry room. Unknown substances have appeared on the walls inside my apartment after I left and returned. When I reported the laundry theft to management, their solution was to sit in a non-temperature-controlled room through the entire wash and dry cycle. It has been 97 degrees this week. I have an autoimmune disorder that makes prolonged heat exposure physically dangerous. That is not a response to a security failure. That is an insult. I have spoken with other residents who have experienced the same things: laundry stolen, cars broken into. This is a documented pattern, not isolated incidents. This building advertises courtesy patrol as a feature. I was later told in writing by management that courtesy patrol is not present for resident protection but to uphold internal policies. That is not what is advertised. A resident was shot and killed by another resident on this property. When I reported all of this in writing, management offered me two options: install my own Ring camera, or vacate. The Ring camera suggestion does not address the parking structure or laundry room, which is where the crimes against me occurred. A camera on my front door would simply point into my neighbor's unit and vice versa -- which is a privacy problem, not a solution. Management stated in writing that they do not feel responsible for foreseeable crime on their property. They advised me to call the police and move. E&S Ring Management holds a D-minus rating with the Better Business Bureau. There is a reason for that. If you move in, document everything from day one. You will need it. read more

The management team whenever something was broken in your apartment they had maintenance get on it right away. My Aunt used to live there and my Dad still does but due to him not working and on a fixed income. He can't afford to stay there and the rent is too high. If there is a way to let him rent at a lower price based on his current income great. I loved the fact that my Dad and Aunt used to live across from each other. Not even 4 months in. Already moved from my first apartment that I originally was contracted for due to mold found. I would give this place a 0 star but no option for that. Don't get me wrong the management here are good to a point. I work during the day and I think that my upstairs neighbors work opposite hours as they are always up in the middle of the night and all night just about everyday. I have taken this with management and their best solution is for me is to move yet again. Also tenants have no control over their animals, you can hear them barking in the middle of the night and there have been 2 occasions already where a person literally barks to make the dogs bark and some people are not picking up after their dog after they dog has relived itself. Other places I have lived at, people get fined. Cant wait till my contract is over to move out yet again. read more

My husband and I had lived in Village Pointe Apartments on 3 different times in a span of 6 years. Each time we left CA and lived in another Country or State we always come back to Village Pointe. The reason is very obvious because we loved the place- so clean, up to date appliances, location is so convenient and most importantly the staff were so wonderful, very friendly and very helpful. We moved out because we wanted to experience another city in another State. I was there years ago when a friend lived there... A best friend. So I knew the ins and outs of the place from him too. The management back in the mid 2000s was unparalleled. They love their neighbors, held "all resident welcome" events in the rec room, and everyone knew each other in the building. It was a very family friendly community. There was very few instances of problems there, so that's not even worth mentioning. The grounds were kept very clean. I always felt welcomed at home even though it wasn't my home it was my friends apartment. My friend had two or three different units in that place over his tenancy, and everything always worked, the carpets at the time got replaced every few years From normal wear and tear, because after all they are apartment-grade carpets, but a good steam cleaning kept them up. And I never heard of any plumbing or electrical issues, no issues in fact, just a great place to live. So this is my outsiders point of view being there, almost every day, spending a few hours within, over an over five year period I visited. read more

But now that we moved out they're charging us to basically renovate the entire apartment. There are some things that we expect to pay for (cleaning and we had also lost the gate key) but they're charging us to repaint the walls AND put in new carpet. We moved into a unrenovated apartment. Village Pointe is like being on vacation 24/7 only u are home and that's what makes it unique and wonderful! The only thing it's missing is room service (kidding). It's peaceful, clean, and beautiful. Everyone is very friendly and neighborly, especially the Staff, who is, also unique and wonderful. Whenever I've had a request for maintenance, they respond immediately. They are always there for u. I can't say that about many landlords I've had in the past. We have lived here since October 2017 and have been very happy, but tonight the Village Pointe maintenance crew absolutely went above and beyond. Our heater completely broke and it was to be in the mid-30 tonight. Even though it was evening, maintenance came and gave us a whole new unit. And getting the old one out was no easy job. My wife and I have only lived here a couple of months. But so far, we are absolutely thrilled to be here! From the minute we first walked onto the property for our appointment to see about renting, we fell in love with it and knew we wanted to be here! Just seeing the beautiful plants all around, and how well kept they are...and then seeing the common area with the swimming pool, hot tub, gas grill, spacious area with lounge chairs etc.....and again seeing how immaculately well kept it all is! And then, meeting the staff and seeing how professionally and efficiently the place is run, with very warm and friendly smiles, and caring people! The apartment itself is very nice. A bit on the small side, but that's what we were expecting and just takes getting used to, but its shaping up really nicely. The staff is VERY attentive to the needs of the residents. Just recently, there was an unfortunate emergency mishap with the water, and the water had to be immediately shut off, with no real time to notify people at first. (After all...emergencies DO happen.) I was really impressed to see that management responded so quickly in the way that was most needed and most efficient. They eventually were able to give us a written flyer, explaining what had happened, which we really appreciated, and were glad for the information. We love the fact that management is so pro-active to place notices on our door whenever needed. Its always good to be informed. Even when its a notice because of something we need to take care of...it is because of management doing this type of thing that keeps the entire community nice for everyone. We couldn't be happier! I absolutely love LOVE village pointe northridge! It's going to be two years since we have been living here! And we don't want to leave! Before village pointe, I had the most terrible experience at another apartment building! The min I met the leasing staff at village pointe, I fell in love with their professionalism and hospitality! As well as their honesty!! Carina is the best!!!!!!! She is Always there to help! It's easy to see That carina really cares about her residents! She is always in work Mode! She has dedicated her self to All of us at village pointe! Carina hasBeen nothing but amazing to us! I HOPE CARINA NEVER LEAVES! If carina leaves, WE LEAVE! (LoL) carina is a huge asset to village pointe! Now let's get back to the apartment complex review. Village pointe has been my home for almost two years now and I Absolutely love it here! Yes, the units are a bit outdated and not enough closet space BUT that's all fixable! The cleanliness of this building is out of this world! They keep this apartment building so clean! It's very well-maintained! Ever since I moved here, I have NEVER SEEN ROACHES!!! This building is that clean! I feel very safe here and I love the community aspect of this building!! I also love the security!! I'm here to be honest, and I love this apartment complex! The pool area is incredible! I love the salt water pools! Way better health wise than chlorine! I also love all the trees in the complex! Love the village forest park look! The only thing I'm concerned about is that we may have to leave because the units don't have enough closet space. We are in a one bedroom but to be honest, It's good for one person. It's a small, yet cute unit. Also, the unit still has carpet which collects so much dust and it's not healthy for those who want to start a family with kids rolling around on carpet. Another thing is that their ac isn't central, it's the wall mounted so it's connected only in the living room. The bedroom really gets warm at times. I also wish the bedroom had a door so it would separate the restroom vanity from the bedroom. Now the parking, well there is a lot of parking space available outside BUT the reason why it gets so difficult to find parking for our second vehicle is that the SOME RESIDENTS ARE SO INCONSIDERATE! They park leaving so much gaps Infront and behind vehicles. I wish they had those white boxes painted on the grounds like they do in Most compacted areas in the valley This would solve that issue very easily! I wish E&S can slowly start making those updates little by little in all of us residents units just like other apartment complexes that I have seen recently out there! I would hate to LEAVE village pointe! I love it here so much! Again, this is by far the most amazing experience I have ever had at an apartment complex! Hopefully they can make those changes for us all because I know that is what us residents usually talk about. AGAIN, the leasing staff and maintenance staff is incredible! We have lived here for 3 years and for the most part love living here! The amenities are great and can't be beat in the area. The grounds are kept very nice, well-maintained, and have pretty gardens. The pool is busy when school is out but it is a family-friendly complex so that is to be expected. The management puts on all sorts of cute events (movie nights, luau's, holiday parties, etc.) and really tries to make it feel like a community. My only complaint is that I would love some higher-end fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom, and not to have carpet under our sink, but we knew what we were getting when we rented the place. Also, the walls are quite thin so if you have rude neighbors it can be a pain but that is not Village Pointe's fault. They have 24/7 security and quiet hours after 10pm so hopefully they can get rid of our noisy neighbor soon! Overall, it has been a lovely place to live! read more

Friendly staff for the most part. The place is nice, I've lived here for over a year now and can't complain too much. They have periods where roach/bug infestation is rampant but not unmanageable and eventually they get around to getting it taken care of. The apartments aren't exactly air tight and you do have to take a few measures on your own to ensure they don't sneak in. Powder is the best bet. Lots of imperfections(cracks/holes) they can come through if you don't seal it off or lay something down to kill them off. It's cheap compared to many other spots though everything in LA seems to be overpriced by a few hundred dollars at least. I would love to move if I could afford it but if you're looking for a decent place to live this isn't too bad of a spot to at least check out. Worst part about it is the constant flyers and notices they put on your doors. At this point I just throw them off to the side. It really does get ridiculous. Just about every day, sometimes twice a day, there's something on my door and it's almost never something important. They should just put up post boards at every entrance if they want people to read these things. Why waste all that paper? read more

I was a resident for over 8 years at Village Pointe and only left because I retired and moved out of state. The community is attractive and the grounds are well maintained. What stands out is both the office staff and the maintenance staff. The office staff was very responsive to my requests, always friendly and actually cared about my issues. They were helpful whether dealing with troublesome tenants (you can't always help who your neighbors are, but the staff does enforce the community rules), scheduling maintenance, dealing with rent payments, or receipt of packages. The maintenance staff was likewise friendly, professional, and competent. They would stick with a problem until it was solved correctly. The one knock I have on the unit was only one of my two bedrooms had air conditioning. I had a very positive experience living there. read more

This place sucks. It stinks of weed. The apartments are old and have terrible plumbing. Toilets and sinks keep clogging. The noise is horrendous. Walls are paper thin and you hear everything. There are dead lizards lying around and nobody cleans up. They will keep your deposit 100% even if you keep the apartment pristine. I've been a resident here for 22yrs. The staff is great, caring, and have a lot of patience with resident requests. They keep the complex in good conditions and landscaping services consistently keep the areas beautiful. I miss all the monthly activities due to COVID-19 limitations. Downsides are lack of A/C in the bedroom, and it doesn't really reach from the living room so you need fans to keep cool. I've been a resident of Village Pointe Apartments for 16 years and have been very happy living here. They are extremely well maintained apartments and have been very good to us as tenants. The staff is friendly and very hard working and always address whatever is needed immediately. The complex is pet friendly with deposit. They have an awesome pool & jacuzzi, a gym and free wifi in the clubhouse which is also used for small functions and it has a little reading area that's nice. They have free coffee everyday and once a month they treat their residents with something special whether it's a christmas party or a petting zoo or a movie night or a hawaiian luau or an easter egg hunt. Every month is different and they really make it a nice community night for everyone with really great food & treats and games & prizes. The apartments are nice sized, almost all have patio/balconies. They make sure everyone is respectful of others. There are 3 decent sized laundry rooms and are open 24 hours and have candy/soda machines. Our apartment has a ceiling fan, it's a open concept apartment. The kitchen has a stove, garbage disposal and dishwasher. You need to bring in your own fridge. Our bedroom is really big and is a one bedroom. There are many different layouts that they have. The grounds are beautiful with trees & flowers and really nice pathways throughout. If you enjoy nature, this is really great place to live that is close to 405 (2 miles away and 10 mins. to the 101). They have grounds keepers that come several times a week to keep it clean. They also have security walking around 24/7. We really love it here and call it home!! read more

My family and I moved to Village Pointe at the end of October! I love, LOVE living here. The complex is beautiful and well kept. The staff is always smiling, saying hello, very attentive and kind. Maintenance is super responsive, also really kind and does great work! Our apartment was fresh, clean and looked beautiful for us to move into. The facilities are always clean and the jacuzzi/pool are such a luxury! It feels like I live at a resort, honestly! I feel so blessed to live here! The kitchen/bathrooms are not as upgraded as our previous apartment and some others I've seen but with everything you get for living here, I don't even miss it. I hope my family and I can live at Village Pointe for years to come! read more

Living in this building was an absolute nightmare. First off, I was living out of town when I moved in and didn't have time/money to come to la to look at a unit before I moved so the first time I saw this community was the day I moved in. The office staff was wonderful and welcoming and even stayed open late for me upon move in. I truly appreciated most of them. From there everything went downhill. When I moved in I noticed the unit felt oddly small for 650 square feet.. upon measuring I found the unit was ~550 square feet. This is absolutely false advertising and I never would have picked this complex under these pretenses. Even including the balcony, which isn't allowed to be included in advertised square footage the unit plus balcony is less than 650. After that I lived for many months with headaches and sneezing as I have a strong allergy to smoke and this community by no means enforces the no smoking on balcony policy. I wish I was exaggerating but the entire community was Smokey with tobacco/marijuana nearly 24/7. The air con unit works poorly and loudly and is otherwise very energy inefficient. It's also located in the living room so it doesn't reach the bedroom. So if you want to sleep in your bed and not overheat massively in the summer you will be waking up constantly to coughing from smoke if you have a sensitivity like I do. I specifically picked this community based on it having a no smoking on the balcony policy so this was extremely frustrating. Here's where things go really bad. One of my neighbors had the police called on them for domestic violence. Which then led to them having their children taken in to custody for unsafe environment. During this time I came home from work and was barred from getting to my unit by community staff while the police dealt with the situation. Keep in mind that domestic violence, as in women screaming while you listen to slapping/punching/kicking noises and a man yells is EXTREMELY common. I called security and/or the police at least once a month for issues like these. I wish I was exaggerating. I had never in my life heard these sounds before but regularly heard them in this community. After that beyond the violence my neighbors, who also had been selling and likely processing drugs from this unit were evicted. When they moved out the real fun started. Cockroaches. Tons and tons of cockroaches. The manager was aware of this happening to the ENTIRE set of connecting units and called in pest control the following week. At this point I'm not even sure to complain about the community or the pest control company. Basically we were kicked out of our unit every single Thursday for 2 MONTHS to spray for cockroaches. It was disgusting and unacceptable. One night I woke up in bed with a giant cockroach on me. Another time I was bit when one dropped in to the shower with me. I begged management to move me to one of the available units even if just to sleep because my unit was unlivable. They relented that pest control would be back soon. I told them i couldn't stay here and I'd stayed in a hotel for several nights just because I needed to sleep. They were very sympathetic but did nothing otherwise. It was a nightmare. Eventually pest control sent in someone with more experience and the issue was greatly reduced within 2 weeks. So frustrating they didn't send him in sooner after no progress was made in the first month and a half. It was also incredibly frustrating that an issue that was entirely unrelated to my own behavior meant that someone was in my unit and I was kicked out for 2 hours every single week. Eventually, I graduated from school and moved out of the area thank goodness so I don't know if they ever got rid of the cockroaches. Now some petty complaints, the apartment numbering system uses a building letter followed by a number. This is very unconventional as most buildings use numbers only so ordering online can be a hassle as some literally saw this unit number is invalid and you can't move forward with your order. Also all packages go to the front office and then you have to pick up from them by 6. I had several times, from the same unnamed employee, tell me I had no packages until I pester them to check again and then they eventually find my package. I'm not sure how packages are organized but I shouldn't have to pester someone to get my mail. Otherwise the staff was lovely and as helpful as they could with ridiculous corporate restriction. Security was also fantastic at patrolling the parking lot but utterly failed at following up on noise complaints even made in the middle of the night. I experienced more sleepless nights in this community than i ever have in my life with the combination of smoke, roaches, and noise. If you're considering this building please be sure you're comfortable with all these features. Otherwise, RUN. read more

I have lived here close to three years and couldn't be happier. When I walk from my parking, I'm walking thru green lush manicured landscaping. Quite and very serene. The pool is bubbling with happy kids frolicking in the water under the supervision of parents. The staff is helpful, kind and understanding. I always walk in with a smile and always get one in return. There are maintenance issues which I'm glad they are addressing. Imagine if they didn't. Every building I've ever owned had issues. The key is to fix them. I've read the other complaining reviews and wonder where they are living. It's a good safe complex. read more

I stayed at the Northridge Village Pointe apartments for approximately 8 months (August 2018 - March 2019) and left early due to noisy upstair neighbors. I notified the apartment manager - who also lived in the apartment above me - and she was responsive to our first complaint. However, the second time we complained she had one of her employees call me telling me that she could not do anything about it and that the noise I was hearing was her grandchildren. The noise was so bad that I would leave the apartment nearly everyday because I could not concentrate while working on homework and I could not relax. Quiet hours in the apartment complex was 10pm to 8am and I would sometimes hear the grandchildren running track upstairs past 11pm. It was ridiculous! I stayed in apartment D109. So if you are thinking about renting from this place then do NOT apply for apartment D109. The address to the apartment complex is 17171 Roscoe Blvd. Northridge CA 91325. Trish and the other ladies working in the office were very helpful and responsive. The only exception was the apartment manager. read more

I stay here for almost eight months and compare to the rental amount i pay i do not get good service . There is no a/c in bed room . It was veryyy hot in summer and now its very cold as there is no heater in bedroom ... they closed pool and spa for long time and i missed so many summer days to use it . The water pipes is old so they cut the water to repare for a few times even today we dont have water without any notice . Its so inconvenient . I will move from this place as soon as i can . This place and all its staff is just wonderful! The girls in the office have been absolutely amazing since the day i stopped by for a tour, all the way through my application process, and they continue being helpful every time i have a question or in need of something! The leasing office is open 7 days a week and they are open late, too, so you can pick up your packages after work. The maintenance staff is very prompt and if anything needs adjusting or fixing, the job is always well done and fast, too! They have security around the clock, which i find very helpful: if you are looking for a quiet place for your next home, this is it. As for amenities, only an in-home washer and dryer can beat the set up they have - a 24 hour laundry facilities throughout the complex with enough machines to accommodate everyone. I have lived here for 2 months now and have not once had to wait for my turn. They just upgraded all the equipment, too! There are vending machines by every laundry room! And my favorite part is the pool and a hot tub that are lit up with changing colors after sunset. There is only one downside: if your windows are facing the railroad, it might take you a while to get used to the blarring train horn that runs around the clock, but other than that, this place is perfect! And for those who have asthma I have fantastic news: there are eucaliptus trees on every corner - it is known to alleviate allergies! read more

This place is a an overpriced dump. They raise your rent every year, even though it is overpriced when you move in. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. If you live downstairs you will hear every step the upstairs neighbor takes. They let all kinds of riff-raff rent apartments, so you will hear loud music all day and night long. They do nothing about it. There is hazardous, cancer-causing asbestos in the walls, and they are so paranoid about it they send notices out to residents stating not to put a nail in the wall to hang a picture. The maintenance men come into your apartment whenever they feel like it, whether you've given permission or not. And for Village Pointe, all this adds up to luxury apartment living. This place is terrible. They raise your rent every year, so if you plan on staying awhile, plan on paying more every year. They will rent an apartment to anyone. So when you see kids with mohawks moving in next door, get ready to hear loud music all day long. If it isn't loud rock music blasting through your walls, you will hear loud rap music. I suggest the management try living next to some of these people and see how they like being disturbed by thumping beats 24 hours a day. And when you complain they make you feel like you are being a nuissance. Also, the walls and ceilings are paper-thin, so I hope you will enjoy listening to every footstep your upstairs neighbors make. And then there is the asbestos problem. The walls are so hazardous, they handed out flyers telling people not to knock a hole in the wall to put up a picture. But according to the manager the walls were tested and there's no problem. Ok, then why did they hand out flyers saying not to pierce the walls in any way? Another thing, the maintenance staff just walks into your apartment whenever they feel like it, whether you've given permission or not. When I first moved in someone just came in while I was sleeping to install a shelf in the fake fireplace. I had no idea what was going on and thought it might be a burglar since they didn't tell me they would be entering my apartment. I subsequently tried to chase them down as they quickly left my apartment, and I got locked out, which was very pleasant. Basically, this place is an overpriced dump. I'd avoid it like the plague. Don't fall for the supposedly nice salesmen in the office, they are just good corporate goons who know how to sucker people in and make money for E&S Ring Group, their corporate slumlord masters. read more
