Highly recommended. We received fantastic service and the food was wonderful. The only hiccup was the flavor of the coffee. No worries, plenty of cream and sugar (I never use sugar!) took care of it.

I would eat here again while staying at Hotel Indigo, and am anxious to try 151 for cocktails.

Instead, we opted to come back the next day for lunch. Our waitress, Danielle, was friendly and made a great old fashioned for my dad. The dining room was busy for lunch but comfortable. I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.

The Bar featured notable high end liquors but I was more impressed by the Rittenhouse Rye as their well Rye and the inclusion of Mellow Corn, a "bottom-shelf bourbon " that is strictly IYKYK... The mussels were easily the standout - absolutely delicious and something I'd come back for. The lamb was also very tender, and both the salmon and chicken dishes were good. That said, the chicken felt pretty basic, especially considering it didn't come with any sides or additional elements to round out the plate. Service was a bit inconsistent. It may have just been an off night, but our server felt a little scattered. One of our guests was initially served a lukewarm, flat Coke in a very small bottle, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. To her credit, she replaced it with a Mexican Coke and didn't charge us, which we appreciated. Still, overall guidance on the menu and pairings would have elevated the experience. At the end of the day, the biggest issue was the pricing. The food was good, but not nearly good enough to justify how expensive everything was. For that reason alone, I'd likely explore other options in Asheville before coming back.

I started the meal with a Lions Mane mushroom broth and small bread service. The Lions mane mushroom broth had a mellow earthy flavor that paired well with the warm fresh sourdough bread. My main Entree was a 9-oz pan-seared locally sourced succulent duck breast, absolutely addicting hot honey glaze, and a side of Brussels Sprouts with a lemon garlic aioli sauce. This meal was not only memorable because of the flavors and presentation but also because of the outstanding staff that made my visit feel wanted and warm! My fiancé took me here for my birthday, and I felt celebrated every step of the way. Our server Laura brought us a complimentary small bite before the meal and after dessert. She also made dessert super special and was kind and attentive the whole meal! The food was all phenomenal, I couldn't believe it was all gluten free. It felt very fresh due to the farm to table nature of the restaraunt. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which were a hit. My short rib with polenta and roast veggies was delectable and a very generous portion! Finally, we ordered 1 dessert but they brought us a trio. I was wowed by the cheesecake and olive oil cake! Would definitely return for date night or any other special occasion!

I was in communication with Lindsay for over four months while exploring options for hosting my wedding dinner in their private dining space. Out of more than 10 venues and vendors we considered, she was the only one who consistently showed up with prompt, thoughtful, and genuinely kind communication. Every question I had--no matter how detailed or repetitive--was answered with patience and care. She made herself available through all my moments of uncertainty, which, as any out-of-state bride can attest, is invaluable. When we finally visited in person, Lindsay went above and beyond by accommodating us outside of regular scheduling. Her attentiveness and warmth never wavered. Planning a wedding from afar can feel overwhelming, but having someone like her in your corner brings a level of reassurance that cannot be overstated. Dinner itself was nothing short of exceptional. We were served by Tennille, who elevated the entire experience. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Every dish was presented with intention, and she took the time to walk us through ingredients , local farm sourced education and preparation in a way that made the meal feel curated and special. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guest experience--it shows in every interaction. After dinner, we visited their second location to explore their private dining options. There, we met Pierre, who matched the same level of service and hospitality. He went out of his way to not only show us the space, but also recommend local after-dinner spots that could enhance the overall experience for our bridal party. That level of thoughtfulness and big-picture thinking is rare. Bottom line: this team understands that they're not just serving food--they're creating experiences. If you're looking for a venue that delivers on service, communication, and unforgettable dining, this is it.
