Deli News Pizza in Long Beach, by Bellflower and Stearns, is a beloved local spot for pizza, pasta, and wings. They have daily lunch specials and daily pasta specials. Most importantly, they give locals great value that can feed a family, which is something that's getting harder to find. If this is what you're looking for, then this is your spot. For me, this is three stars (OK) because the pizza and pasta are OK, but priced fairly. I took advantage of two of their specials. They presently have a special from 11a-5p for a small 12" pizza with unlimited toppings for $10. They also have a daily $12.50 pasta special that comes with garlic bread. The Friday pasta was for bowtie pasta with shrimp and bell peppers in a cajun sauce. The sauce didn't really have much cajun flavor, but it was buttery and delicious. Overall, I think this is a good local gem that has value for a family, and I think that's getting harder to find. Support local and try it out! read more

Grabbed two pepperoni pizzas here for dinner for my family. The staff were really sweet and service was quick. The pizzas took about 10-15 minutes to be ready, which isn't bad at all. The inside is pretty cute and gives off like a classic mom and pop Italian restaurant. The pizza looked amazing and the crust was nicely cooked and crispy. It reminded me of the pizza crust at Papa John's, but wayyyyy better. The price is pretty standard for a local pizza place, but they also serve a variety of other food items like pasta and sandwiches as well. Definitely recommend trying! read more

I have been coming to Deli News for many years. I went to CSULB, so back in the days, this was the lunch spot for my friends and I. Their pizza used to be so good. Unfortunately, over the years, the quality of their pizzas declined. I don't get pizza from here anymore, but I still like their spaghetti and meatballs and chicken alfredo fettuccine. Each pasta order comes with garlic bread. Their spaghetti and meatballs is really tasty. The marinara is so good and the spaghetti is soft. The meatballs is good too, but wish it came with more. Currently, their spaghetti is served with 4 small meatballs. The chicken alfredo fettuccine is good too. The alfredo is very creamy. They sell cookies as well. The cookies used to be good too, but I think they changed the recipe because it's not as good as before. I'll continue to come here for their pasta. read more

Because we were in the area we decided to try this spot out. I liked the fact that it still has that family owned, home style feel to it. When we first came in we were greeted by such a happy and pleasant gentlemen by the name David because we asked his name before we had left. David was so helpful and suggested popular food items as well as specials. Alexis was also very helpful getting our drinks and adding to the conversation with David. Just their friendliness and hospitality made our experience, that much more enjoyable. The pizza had a great flavor to it, my mother really enjoyed her turkey sandwich, and I had the white sauce pasta dish with shrimp and chicken. At the end of our meal, I was craving some dessert and Jade was helpful with choosing which desserts, I ended up grabbing all 4. Everything was really good and we will definitely be back. Pizza was extremely greasy. Only gave me 2 and pepperonis on mine as I split with a friend. I don't think they even started our order until we waited 30 minutes then asked them where our food was, then had to wait another 10 minutes. They gave us two cookies to make up for it but they were over baked and honestly, you could make better cookies yourself at home. Super disappointing. Restrooms were also disgusting. Finally stopped in here for lunch today after passing by it many times. The food was very solid in an old school way. Zero complaints - not earth shattering, just a sandwich and a pizza that were pretty darn good. Most importantly we will be back for one key reason - the SERVICE. I've been supporting this small business since my college days at LB State and I don't who I need to talk to about this but I went in on a Sunday around noon and my food came out ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I don't know who the chef is but please give him my compliments for the hot Italian roast beef sandwich! It's even better than I how remembered it and the food is actually getting better with age! Been coming here for over 25+ years and I'm so glad they are still around serving up classics like it was the east coast in Jersey/NYC. Real Italian food. Cashier with the glasses was super helpful and nice too. They offered a special for a sandwich and pasta salad side and drink for $13. You really can't beat that with a bat. Quality through and through| Whether it Pasta's, Pizza's or Sandwiches this place always hits the spot for me .Keeping the prices more than fair with great bank for the Buck. Oh man, blast from the past. I haven't been here in years. I used to come at LEAST once a week back in the day. The service is still really good, I THINK it's under new management (not 100 percent sure) but I don't see any of the old people that always worked here. All the workers used to know me by name and would always get really upset when my mom would come here for pick up and I wasn't there with her because I was In The hospital. They really treated me like family. Hell, even one year I baked them brownies for Christmas. The food still all tastes great! However, the prices have skyrocketed. (But, it has everywhere) I ordered a pizza and they had a deal where if you ordered it before 5 it was cheaper Got a sub, fries and pasta and shared it all with my mom. Also, have to love the free cookie with check in It's nothing fancy, usually college kids and families that come In here. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The place was clean like always. The food also came out really fast, which is a huge plus for me because I suffer from being hangry sometimes lol. Today was especially crowded, so parking was hard to find. Normally it's never an issue. There's a huge parking lot with tons of spaces. We should have noticed the red flag when staff themselves didn't seem eager for us to order anything. We tried a slice of cheese pizza, chicken parm sub, and the Friday pasta special (shrimp scampi).
