Deli News Pizza in Long Beach, by Bellflower and Stearns, is a beloved local spot for pizza, pasta, and wings. They have daily lunch specials and daily pasta specials. Most importantly, they give locals great value that can feed a family, which is something that's getting harder to find. If this is what you're looking for, then this is your spot. For me, this is three stars (OK) because the pizza and pasta are OK, but priced fairly. I took advantage of two of their specials. They presently have a special from 11a-5p for a small 12" pizza with unlimited toppings for $10. They also have a daily $12.50 pasta special that comes with garlic bread. The Friday pasta was for bowtie pasta with shrimp and bell peppers in a cajun sauce. The sauce didn't really have much cajun flavor, but it was buttery and delicious. Overall, I think this is a good local gem that has value for a family, and I think that's getting harder to find. Support local and try it out!

Grabbed two pepperoni pizzas here for dinner for my family. The staff were really sweet and service was quick. The pizzas took about 10-15 minutes to be ready, which isn't bad at all. The inside is pretty cute and gives off like a classic mom and pop Italian restaurant. The pizza looked amazing and the crust was nicely cooked and crispy. It reminded me of the pizza crust at Papa John's, but wayyyyy better. The price is pretty standard for a local pizza place, but they also serve a variety of other food items like pasta and sandwiches as well. Definitely recommend trying!

I've been coming here on and off since 2012, back when it was cash only! First time doing a public review. Ordered a couple pizzas and wings with blue cheese and ranch. Everything came out hot and fresh! The wait wasn't too long. The staff were nice and cordial. Place seemed fairly busy. Pizzas my favorite food. Out of all the local joints, this is on my short list.

Pretty good hole in spot place. I've been here a couple times already and their pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches are all good. Really like the Venice mural inside the restaurant, makes you feel as if you're in Italy. They have really good daily deals that are worth checking out.

It's been ages since Ive gone to deli news pizza, I use to go a lot when I was going to school at CSULB. I just happen to have lunch next door and I knew I had to come by deli news pizza for the cookies. 80 cent for 1 cookie is a good price. The quality is still the same as before. I love chocolate chop cookies, the cookies soft, not too sweet and have delicious chocolate chip. I also enjoy the oatmeal and raisins cookies.

Food: 4/5 Spaghetti and meatballs were good. Nice Italian spot located close by to CSULB. The chicken scampi was different but was ok, I added additional shrimp since I'm a fan. Great spot for an early dinner after work! This place also offers wine and beer!!! Service: 4/5 Staff was great, food came out quick. Ambiance: 4/5 Decorations were nice, location is clean and love the mural on the wall.

An absolute banger for lunch! $9.99 for a sandwich, side, and small drink! That's a great deal nowadays. My friend got the meatball sub with a side of potato salad, and I got the hoagie with a side of pasta salad. We ended up splitting everything and it was delicious. It's also a lot of food. They do not skimp out on the proteins, and the 8oz deli cup of sides is also filled to the brim. This is a great spot for a quick, casual, and affordable lunch.

I have been coming to Deli News for many years. I went to CSULB, so back in the days, this was the lunch spot for my friends and I. Their pizza used to be so good. Unfortunately, over the years, the quality of their pizzas declined. I don't get pizza from here anymore, but I still like their spaghetti and meatballs and chicken alfredo fettuccine. Each pasta order comes with garlic bread. Their spaghetti and meatballs is really tasty. The marinara is so good and the spaghetti is soft. The meatballs is good too, but wish it came with more. Currently, their spaghetti is served with 4 small meatballs. The chicken alfredo fettuccine is good too. The alfredo is very creamy. They sell cookies as well. The cookies used to be good too, but I think they changed the recipe because it's not as good as before. I'll continue to come here for their pasta.

Because we were in the area we decided to try this spot out. I liked the fact that it still has that family owned, home style feel to it. When we first came in we were greeted by such a happy and pleasant gentlemen by the name David because we asked his name before we had left. David was so helpful and suggested popular food items as well as specials. Alexis was also very helpful getting our drinks and adding to the conversation with David. Just their friendliness and hospitality made our experience, that much more enjoyable. The pizza had a great flavor to it, my mother really enjoyed her turkey sandwich, and I had the white sauce pasta dish with shrimp and chicken. At the end of our meal, I was craving some dessert and Jade was helpful with choosing which desserts, I ended up grabbing all 4. Everything was really good and we will definitely be back. If you are in the area, give this place a try.

I've been coming here for months but never gave them a review? Why I don't know! I love their pasta specials you can't go wrong with whichever one you choose depending upon the day of the week! Today I stopped in for a Hawaiian Pizza to go! I love Hawaiian pizza it's my go to over here! Service is always friendly and polite! Ambience is kind of like family type! Pizza looks delicious doesn't it? Gotta go to Deli News if you want delicious pasta or pizzas!

Ordered door dash from here and was very pleased with what we ordered. Chicken wings were hearty, meatballs were excellent and the summer salad we ordered was delicious and fresh!! It was a good pick for not knowing anything about this restaurant! Highly recommend!!

Oh what good memories when we enjoyed Deli News so many years ago. Are the original owners still around? All the photos look very inviting. Definitely on my bucket list to revisit Deli News soon.

It's been many, many years since I've seen the original owners; probably not since the late 2000s. I remember asking one of the employees that had taken over (owner's brother, maybe?) that I hadn't seen the owners around in a long while, and he said… Read more

My wife and I were trying a Thai spot when we saw great looking pizzas being brought to people at outside tables so we had to go and give it a try. So glad we did. The place is pretty cool and bigger than expected. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as some common tables in front of the entrance. Service was good. It's an order at the front counter and take a number to your table and they bring the food to you. We went with three family members and got two different pizzas and both were so good. One was a loaded pepperoni with a hot honey sauce and the other had ricotta cheese with pepperoni and pickled jalapeños (the red ones). Absolutely delicious We also ordered fried onion rings (which I did not try as I don't do onions) and fried zucchini sticks. The sticks were very good but I was thrilled with the dip as it had dill and I should have just asked for ranch. I'm told the onion rings were very good. They came with a honey mustard sauce dipper which went great with the zucchini sticks by the way. We saw some very good looking chicken wings being served to other tables and plan to try those next time. Parking in this area can be tough at times however it's worth the effort believe me.

We'd be happy to come down again in traffic, because it's absolutely worth the drive here. Some find the pizza sizes small or the prices high in comparison to your average pizza joint - but your average, everyday pizza place in California is just...ew. Their crust is very thin, Neapolitan style in a brick oven, beautiful and a little chewy, slightly-charred from the brick oven. Amazing texture. Traditionalists, so we just got the Margherita and Bianco, adding some mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle. SOO good. We also tried the fried zucchini blossoms, which were very light and not oily at all. Caesar salad was very delicious and fresh, also had the octopus, which was perfectly grilled and like eating steak. To finish, we had some amazing coffee with tiramisu. Wow. Not usually a fan, but their tiramisu was super light, not overly sweet, and super good. Thanks to our wonderful server, Diana ! Super friendly and everything came out quickly. Eveything is delicate, fresh, lovely, and makes you feel like you're in Italy. Can't wait to be back. Tutto bene, grazie!

Deep Dish pizza is one of my fave things to eat, but I don't find places that serve it or at least do it well. I grew up eating deep dish pizza out here on the west coast, so I'm more used to and like the west coast style, as opposed to the true Chicago style where they cut their thin crust pizzas in little squares. It's a pie, cut it in triangles like a pie! They use too much cornmeal in the crust too, but that's just me. I first had deep dish stuffed pizza at Zachary's in Berkeley, so I kinda compare everything else to that. It was another long day of work and the crew just wanted to stay at the hotel and have me go out and get them some of this deep dish pizza. Ok, I'll keep the crew happy. I go in and order and it's very nice inside. Kinda a little upscale over some pizza parlor joint. I get 2 medium Chicago Classic, I think that was what it was called. Mostly it was sausage, green pepper, onions and mushrooms and lots of cheese. They had an option of half baked, so I got that cause I wanted the pizza hot and crispy and we had a full kitchen back in my room, plus all the plates and stuff. We serve it and I gotta say this is some dang good deep dish pizza. I hate place where they say deep dish, but what it ends up being is deep crust pizza with thin toppings! Mid week when we arrived which wasn't too crazy. There was no one on the patio which was nice as it gave us first choice for a seat...lol... Everyone was seating inside. Personally I prefer sitting outside for the people watching. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Places like that make the experiences more enjoyable. You want someone who is friendly and respectful. As we were there early, we grabbed one of the beer which they have quite a good selection on tap. There's also wine if you're not into beer. When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. The crowd was great and as most places are very kid and family friendly. There was couple of kids when we arrived. Service was great. We ordered a half and half pizza online for pickup and spent over $30 for pizza and a 4oz container of ranch. They told us it would be about 20min when we ordered so we got ready and left. We got there probably 15min after we ordered and grabbed two cokes while we waited. I tried to pay with cash and was told he might not have change to give me. I said that was ok even though it's pretty lame that you don't keep change in your register. He happened to find a very large coin bag and made me change. We were sitting right at the front and you couldn't miss us. They asked us a few times what our name for the order was and we told them the same thing every time. Finally after about 10 min they asked us for the 3rd time what our name was and then walked away. We could hear someone say "the order for Kymmy didn't leave they are here" or something along those lines. We kind of just looked at each other. The guy that rang us up came over and said, "sorry something happened to your pizza it'll be another 20min or so". At this point we had already been waiting about 15 min for the pizza. So we said ok because we were starving. One of the employees asked us if we drank wine we said no we didn't and that's why we were drinking cokes. He said, "ohh, okayyyy..." and gave us a very judgmental look. Like sir, you don't know why we aren't drinking. We also kind of figured he wanted to give us a few beverage for the mix up. But that was the end of it. We heard someone say our name and we asked if ours was ready and one girl acted like we were being impatient while waiting. Like we didn't just wait over a half hour for food. Finally our pizza was done after a total of 40 min and there was very minimal apology for the delay. We took it back to our hotel and we were so excited it smelled so amazing and it looked so good. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were when we took our first few bites. It was not that great. We had ordered pepperoni and the veggie pizza. We ate half of it because we were starving and very quickly regretted it. It made both of us super sick on top of everything else Needless to say we won't be back here and won't be recommending this place either

Crust on both pizza was the perfect balance of crisp and thiness. Pepperoni - Not too oily or salty. Super generous with the pepperoni. They use smaller pepperoni which I always prefer. Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. My only issue was the balance--there was a bit too much cheese for the crust, so even folding it New York-style, it didn't hold up well and kind of fell apart. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out. All in all, the regular slice was decent, but the focaccia pizza really missed the mark for me. Probably not a spot I'd go back to.
