I visited Kings Tap at Lonsdale Quay and had such a great experience that we decided to try Village Tap House. All I can say is that their staff training is top-notch. We received excellent, fast service, and the food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. The menu is almost identical to Kings Tap's, so we decided to try the chicken wings, steak, fish tacos, and my daughter's favorite...the spicy vodka rigatoni. Everything tasted amazing! Tried Village Taphouse in Park Royal and overall had a solid experience. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich on a gluten-free bun, and it really delivered. The bun was nicely toasted and held together well (which isn't always the case with gluten-free options), and the chicken itself was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and packed with flavour. It came out hot and was served with a side of fresh fries that complemented it perfectly. The only downside was finding a small chicken bone in my sandwich. I let the staff know, and while it didn't completely ruin the experience, it's definitely something worth noting. Everytime when we come visit to North Vancouver we must stop here and this my first time to come after 9pm and it is the time starts for Happy Hours. All starters and pizza is $5 off which is a pretty good deal. Their portion is big and service is friendly. Food we ordered Nachos- portion is big , it comes with the fired roasted tomato salad instead of the regular salsa. It add a more spicy taste to it but I still prefer the regular salsa better that gives more a refreshing sensation. Dry Ribs Well seasoned, standard but if it can be smaller bites will be better. Chicken Tenders Surprisingly good! Crispy, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The coating stayed light, and the chicken inside was moist. I used to go here often when I lived in the area but I haven't been back for a few years. My friends and I decided to come here after a day up on the slopes. The service and food was as good as it was in the past, which is why this place is a solid go to when in the area. I actually prefer it to the near by Cactus Club. I didn't have it this time around, but they make pretty good pizzas here. I was tempted to bring one home to my partner but decided to just take him with me next time so that we can enjoy it fresh with some wings, which I remember being quite good. For this visit, my friends and I had salads and shared the meatballs. I really enjoyed both dishes and my cocktail was well made. I was just a bit disappointed that my drink didn't fill up the short highball glass when they brought it to me, which is why I'm deducting a star. read more

We came on a busy weekend. The menu looked like it had great options for our bunch. The restaurant was packed, but we got in quick. We started with apps & drinks. We ordered the Dirty Bread for the table. We devoured it, I would highly recommend. The herby cheese dip was addicting, we all couldn't get enough. I opted for the tuna poke'. I have been coming to this place for years and I just love it. All of their food is good. It's a great place to watch hockey or big games - especially playoffs. I've sat in every section of the restaurant and it's always comfortable. I went with a friend today and caught the end of Happy Hour. Reset out on the patio. We had strawberry margaritas and split the potato skins and calamari. Everything was delicious. I know Cactus Club and the Keg are close by, but I almost always go to the Taphouse when I come to Park Royal. read more

The cokes were flat and syrupy, We exchanged the cokes for 2 ginger ales, which were marginally better, but sill were flat. The ginger ale glasses did not have any ice, and the drinks were not cold. When we got the 2 pizzas, there were luke warm. The server Archibald was very disinterested, did not make eye contact with me or my brother. Archibald did not come by to top up the drinks. When I was paying for meal, Archibald did not make eye contact, did not ask how the meal was, and was actually directing other servers with hand motions I have visited Village Taphouse many times over the last 3 years. Went to Taphouse for Brunch and had eggs benedict, my favourite. It was exceptional, It came on a croissant, with bacon accompanied by smashed potatoes and salad. The service was very friendly and professional and Stella shared some menu tips that were helpful. I have tried many high end restaurants and none matched the Village Benny. We've been coming here for years, and after sometime away, coming back for some food and drinks with some friends it was a significant disappointment. I'll tell you why. Have you ever been somewhere to eat and you felt that your server had better things to do? Like prepare for an exam or go meet her friends? That was our first impression of our server when we sat down and unfortunately it lasted the whole evening. The attention, effort and energy she gave to our table the entire time was as if she wanted us to finish, pay and leave and we had just gotten there. When she did come around she never cleared the dirty side plates from our appetizers, and dirty dishes sat there throughout our mains when we finally asked the bus boy to clear them. Anyhow....moving on....so that's for service. Now for the food....keep reading. Overpriced hot wings that used to come with dip and celery...you know....they're hot wings...now they charge you for celery and dip....yeah I'm serious. Hot wings tasted frozen and old. The Korean cauliflower tasted good but it was swimming in sauce. The truffle fries were more like regular fries, limp and lacking freshness, as well as the yam fries were not seasoned at all. No salt nothing. Bland. We also ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger which was very average, but what was odd with that order was that there were fries missing in the container it came with (see pic). Like someone had helped themselves with a couple of them before the dish arrived at our table. It was not topped off. We had a tequila shot and it tasted like water when we told our server she told us to pick a brand we liked, so we went with Patron. Once those arrived, even though they were the same order....one of them was poured less than the other by at least 1/2 a shot. Yeah...not good. We were going to let our server know, but she came around only when she had nothing better to do. We used to love this place but this might just be enough for us not to return. I added the braised chicken but i could do without it. The meat was not as tender as I would like it to be. My favorite part was actually the rice. It was very flavorful. The bacon Benny my friend ordered looked good too. It was served on croissant which made it a bit different. Service was friendly though a bit spotty when it got busy. It was understandable. This used to the lighthouse bar and grill and is now called the Village Taphouse. I went for lunch and the place was busy. We had reservations and the patio was open. Not much has change since I was last there. I find it a great place to go. The staff are extremely friendly and quick with service taking drink and menu orders. Fish tacos were ordered and are so good they order them every time they have been there. It comes with three each and are well presented. I had the BBQ chicken pizza. Came hot and it appears one size for all. The pizza was perfectly cooked. The crust on the edge was a bit large and done right for a thin crust. It's truly a great place to go. I love this place. One of the best restaurants in West Vancouver. But, I am super disappointed with their service. I do have a medium size service dog, and as a lot of business owners know, government doesn't provide Service ID anymore so the medical letter is all we need. they drilled me with none sense questions, and honestly by end of it i was so upset i didn't even want to dine so i left. Big parking lot, outside seating and indoor bar with tables for food. Friday night, we walked past the live band outdoors and into the bar indoors with spots bar screenage and local bar crowd. The staff everywhere are friendly and attentive. The burgers were very good. They are double patty on brioche bun and show that some one took the care to cook the patty to medium and add the toppings masterfully. Im good with the cover band playing my favorite Alice In Chains song at full volume but, I think normal people would rather not have to walk past the live loud crowd to get to the quiet bar, juicy burger and great service inside. read more

One negative in this area, while the tables and restaurant seemed clean overall, the chairs at our table needed wiped down....as did the one next to us (I saw a woman ask to have it cleaned before she sat). The tables in our section were quite close together. That coupled with the large chairs would've made it hard for anyone to get into the chairs at our table that were against the wall, should we have needed them. I did love the choice of older pop/rock 80s era music playing, and at a good noise level for dining. Guess I just showed my age there. For our meals we ordered the Beef Dip with Caesar salad and Roasted Turkey Clubhouse with fries. They were both great, served hot and flavorful. We don't normally partake in desert as I'm not much of a sweet eater, but for some reason I was feeling it on that night. I chose the Warm Pretzel Crunch Brownie...and OH YES...highly recommend! I would go there JUST for that desert. New to Canada, I also had my first Caesar while at Taphouse... and I'm a fan. Its a great spot in West Vancouver. Its right in the royal park village shopping area and its huge with dim lights ambience and modern twist to every dish and drink. Happening place even on a weekday so must be famous with locals. In fact there is full fledge waiting area with comfortable couches but we didn't have to wait and got seated immediately. Once on our table, we took our time to dig in the vegetarian choices. There are quite a few to pick from so we ordered brussel sprouts and loaded nachos ( our server got extra vegetarian topping for us since we didn't want any meat) no extra charge but see wen u load ir nachos then they become a full meal. There was no room for more food but we still went ahead n ordered pizza ( we packed it later though). Pizza was very fresh and crisp. Toppings were plenty. Yes, it's in a shopping plaza. But don't knock it. The VT was a pleasant surprise and we went back again a few nights later as well. The space is big with plentiful seating both inside and out. The outdoor space is beautiful with heat lamps and a table with an awesome glass fire pit. The service is the first and foremost shining star of the VT. All of the staff we encountered were lovely. From helping us find a seat, to explaining menus - our servers were all awesome; friendly, courteous and efficient. And ... Their Happy Hour is awesome! And while we'd go back even without this - the Happy Hour in particular is a great reason for a visit! Select appetizers and both beers and cocktails at great prices, everything we had was great! Decided to try this out because Cactus club doesn't serve pancakes. It was recommended by the hostess at Cactus as their sister restaurant. After that endorsement + they made waffles it was a no-brainer. Inside was giving definite pub vibes but I wasn't overly dissatisfied just a bit anxious to see the quality of food. Ordered the Belgian waffle with berry compote, it was okay. The Ambleside breakfast was basic. Toast, eggs, a grilled half tomatoe and some protein. The scrambled eggs were soft and enjoyable. Overall this place didn't excite me. It hit the spot so that I could have the energy to walk around for the next couple of hours that's about it. The wait staff was pleasant, no complaints. I probably won't go back just because it wasn't the type of place that accommodates with several options for breakfast. For instance, I asked for Turkey bacon in place of regular bacon but the only option was the ancho chicken. Which doesn't really go with the breakfast aesthetics but it was tasty. I am absolutely​ in love with this place after just one visit. And let me tell you why. Upon entering the building, I had a really good, welcomed feeling before I even got to the hostess' stand. The atmosphere of this place is just... amazing. I love that there was TVs all over so that you could watch one of the multiple games that were on at the time I was there. There's an outdoor seating area (and even a fire going) and I would've elected to sit outside had it not been raining. If you're looking for something a bit more intimate (and the weather permits it) sit outside... or sit inside. Whatever you choose you will NOT regret it. The staff is super friendly and the woman who sat me even complimented my makeup which made me feel good. Our server was equally as amazing and very attentive​. I wish I could remember her name to give her a shoutout. She was even able to get me a side of Valentina's hot sauce! By far the worst Chicken sandwich I had in the recent times. This place used to be awesome but looks like they started skimping on quality recently. The chicken was less than a centimeter thick(see pictures), this was a joke for paying 20 dollars for this sandwich. I let the server know about this and they just ignored it and brushed it aside. Overall paid close to 50 dollars for this rip off meal. Me and my wife both were hungry after this meal and we literally went to another place after spending 50 dollars here.
