Med Bowl with chicken and falafel.

Got the Med Bowl with chicken and falafel. It was tasty. Husband got fish tacos and enjoyed them as well. Service was solid. Nothing special but not bad. Would eat here again if in area.

    Chicken Burger...barely.

What do you think of when you're craving a burger? A perfectly grilled, juicy and seasoned patty sandwiched between two semi crispy buns? Hot, fully cut and salted fries both served on an oval plate so clean....you can see your reflection? Yes?....... Well....that used to be Cactus Club. I got a craving attack for burgers that day and decided on Cactus Club. I hadn't been to this one in a long time and was hoping that they were still as amazing as they used to be. Started off ordering a coffee, which came with a dirty cup and the second time around it was cold. We had the Bacon Cheddar Burger and the Chicken Burger. For $22, this should've been a gourmet burger. This was not. The beef was dry, the bread soggy and the bacon was missing. Just a very average experience with that dish...maybe even below...if you're a burger lover. I am very picky when it comes to fries. I don't like them warm...I like them hot. I don't like them bottom of the pan and oily....I like them fully cut, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside....you know...like fries should be. So, I asked ahead of time for super fresh fries....and they came that way....and it was lovely. The Chicken Burger. I was surprised. I'll tell you why. years ago Cactus' Chicken burger was one of my favourites. The chicken was proportionate, juicy and perfectly seasoned. This time....it was as if that chicken had been cut in half. I mean it was so thin that you could barely taste it in the burger. All I could taste was the lettuce and tomato and even that was not seasoned....real shame. I'm more of a red meat kinda gal, but I used to love Cactus' chicken burgers and apparently its gone extinct. Our server was nice enough. Maybe next time when you serve coffee make sure the cup is clean and the coffee hot. It's easy....just look and feel the cup...You know...attention to detail. Works miracles. ;)

Family birthday celebration Make your reservation online. This place is busy. Free street parking and in a tiny lot out back. The food is good. The beyond burger was delicious! I had the Tuna Poke Bowl and it was nice. There was a garlic / onion allergy and the Cactus Club had a challenge offering safe options. Chicken strips and fries was the solution. (I am sure they could have done better) Dessert was yummy. Some kind of a lava chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was so good! The birthday boy was offered an apple pie which he enjoyed. (thanks Cactus Club!) We knocked off a star because their allergy-safe solution for an elderly woman was disappointing. She had a kids meal (chicken strips and fries?!?) And also, the place was REALLY noisy. Our party of 5 had a difficult time sharing a conversation. Struggles to hear what was being said. The service was excellent and the food good.

We were visiting North Vancouver and stopped in this place one evening, and it was fantastic! From doing their best to accommodate my craving for a strawberry daiquiri by making a sweetened strawberry margarita to fantastic service, we enjoyed the food and the experience so much, we went back the next day! The chocolate lava cake was amazing - gooey warm chocolate blended with the Tahitian vanilla ice cream was the perfect combination. The chicken pesto quesadillas were so tasty, our son ate the leftovers for breakfast. Every bite was great - the chicken was perfectly cooked, cheese melty and the lime-honey dip was really good. Best French fries I've had in a long time. They even tasted good cold! Be sure to try and get Joe's table because he's awesome! He made the whole experience perfect!

    Steak and Prawns the best!

We had a reservation and was late for 15mins and they still let us in. Our server Megan was very knowledgeable about our order and was attentive to our needs. She went over and beyond and prepared a cake for my son whose birthday we were celebrating for dinner. The place was very classy and comfortable. WE LOVE OUR experience!! A MUST GO WHEN IN NORTH VANCOUVER

Cactus Club offers a familiar trendy atmosphere. We stopped by for happy hour and ordered some entrees off the happy hour menu. I enjoyed a chicken burger with fries. Service was efficient.

Celebration take out was amazing. Fiancée surprised me with these desserts, omg they knocked my socks off they were sooo delicious. The food was great and presentation was great for takeout. Only thing I could say is maybe a better Wing distributor with more meat on the chicken wings. The Wings seemed so small, that deep fryer fried them dry lol (they too sad for a picture). we ordered: POTATO SKINS - 5/5 Stars (genius had some hard chips that absorbed the grease keeping them oh so delicious) MINI BURGERS - 5/5 Stars (these were like two biters of heaven) CRISPY YAM FRIES with garlic aioli - 4/5 Stars (i only say a four as it was take out and they got soggy a bit) Wings - 3/5 Stars (tiny and dry. some broke well eating leaving shards of bone with the chicken) KEY LIME PIE - 5/5 Stars (if you kike Lime pie soo yummy) CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CRUNCH BAR - 5/5 Stars (if you have diabetes like me one bite is worth it!!!)

Tuna sandwich. Out of everything we ordered it was our least favorite

We came here after hiking around Lynn Canyon. All of us were starving and looking for something good to eat. I think this is a chain restaurant since we saw another one of these in downtown Vancouver. We ordered: - potato skins - chicken pesto quesadilla - crispy chicken sandwich - chicken lettuce wraps - ahi sandwich The least favorite thing I tried was the ahi sandwich, I think there was just too much going on plus they had bacon strips in it, I was not a fan. I ordered the lettuce wraps as my entree, huge portion, and it was delicious. Potato skins were also on point! This place probably has the best display of serving their food. Everything just looked so good to eat! And the food was good. Different drink specials everyday of the week, we didn't get drinks though, but their sangria the table next to us had looked amazing! Great outdoor patio area, and they had their own parking lot.

The Cactus Club Cafe is a great place for happy hour, drinks with friends, or a date night out. Great drinks, great happy hour menu, delicious food, great atmosphere and tent heated outdoor seating. Staff is super friendly, great service, and great place to go!

Our server Joe was awesome! I forgot my ID at the hotel and he tried asking his manager to get me a ride. Unfortunately they were unable to as it was a busy night. Joe called a cab for me so I wouldn't have to walk back. Such an awesome server - very knowledgeable of the foods, great stories, and personality. Try to get him as your server if you go! We ordered the jambalaya and the lingcod for dinner - both very tasty. You gotta try the truffle fries! My partner and I ended up coming back 2 days later during happy hour and had 3 more orders (lol). Everything was delicious and I'm sad I have to go back to truffle fry-less California.

This was way more impressive than we expected. I am a huge foodie, so I really do my research when I am traveling, so that I can hit up the best food, especially the places the locals love. We got into Vancouver pretty late and wanted to get a dinner that would be close to our hotel. Cactus Club Café was only a few blocks away. The service was wonderful and quick. We had a great waitress who loved cracking jokes with us and the manager was attentive to see how our food was and if we were enjoying our meal. The service was just perfect enough that they were around if we needed something, but weren't overbearing. The atmosphere was also unexpected. When a restaurant has the word café, I usually expect something small and bright. This atmosphere was perfect. It was dimly lit, with the orange glow of candles, very clean décor with some vintage art pieces with a modern set up. The place is on the smaller side, but that makes it more intimate. The food was phenomenal. We wanted to get as much seafood while we were in Vancouver as possible, since it's right on the ocean and we're from the Midwest. My partner got the Baja Fish Tacos and he loved them. I took a bite and it was also delicious. I decided to get the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Prawns, which is unusual for me, since I am an avid pasta lover and I usually only eat homemade pasta. This one sounded too good not to try and it met all my hopes. The ravioli was delicious, but the real stars of the show were the truffle butter, pine nuts and crispy sage. It's the little ingredients like this that really elevate the entire dish. The crunchy nuts and crispy sage with the butter just made the dish complete. Seriously, give it a try! I know everyone would enjoy this place.

This shows that chains can actually be super good!!! Us: family of four adults from San Diego and Bay Area, California traveling to Vancouver for the first time! Recommended to this place by a friend from home so we said why not after seeing good reviews! Had dinner here around 8pm to 930ish pm. Food we got: my sister and I shared the Szechuan chicken Lettuce wraps and the mini burgers with cheddar and bacon. My dad got fish tacos with fries. My mom got chicken tacos with salad. Drinks we got: my dad got beer. I and my mom got frozen Bellinis. She also got the froze. My sister got a froze too. Key Lime Pie for dessert. Chicken lettuce wraps: SUPER GOOD! Good amount of Spicy, great flavor, had peanuts and good amount of sauce and wonton chips. Came with two sauces to add that we're both good! Lettuce was plentiful and fresh. 5/5 Chicken tacos: my mom says very good! 4/5 stars. Thicker perfect tortillas that held sauce. Mole shredded chicken with pickled veggies and lettuce. House salad: very good. 5/5. Fresh, tomorrow's, cucumbers and feta with nice balsamic vinaigrette. Fish tacos: really good my dad says. 4.5/5 Fries: average. Slightly crispy side. 3/5 Mini burgers: good bun, good cheese, average patty. Decent bacon. 4/5. Drinks: frozen cocktails: 5/5! Super flavorful, well-made and yummy! Stayed frozen for a long time. Key Lime Pie: very good!! 4/5. Flavorful. Great crust. Good whipped cream. Flavorful. Service: 5/5 !! Very friendly and good!! Clean place. Was seated immediately. A/C was perfect. Candles were nice. This one has history! Was first one ever! It has some rustic charm they kept from the original decor. Music is modern rap/pop/hip-hop.

Delicious but this $37 entree didn't fill me!9oz Creole sirloin Steak + Prawns with a delicious spicy Creole butter spread!

What a great spot - I can envision sipping cocktails in the summer with the doors open, or inside in winter - very nicely done up by someone with an eye. The tour exceeded our expectations and took us into 2 other spaces not normally accessible including a cask room in the back that can be booked for small to medium sized groups. Our guide was the owner and we are curious science minded people so it was a great match. Jan is an excellent teacher and story-teller. The tasting really educated me but let's not mince words,.. it was also tasty! The final phase of the tour is to show you how to mix gins into cocktails with a little hands on mixology tutorial with batertender Ky. All told several samples, and cocktails were included - all amazing. All of the staff were great. It was just a really enjoyable afternoon and worth of a rare 5 stars! I think this place is a must stop for a day adventure from Vancouver to the Shipyards area. It should also be noted that these guys aren't kidding around: national and international spirit awards across the board with some really quality innovative (but not gimmicky) products here.

First, we were seated quickly upon arrival, even though the restaurant looked busy for a Tuesday night. The servers were personable and genuinely kind, which set the tone for the rest of our dinner. The appetizers and drinks came out quickly, and both the chicken wings and calamari were some of the best we've ever had. Most calamari is served with tartar or marinara sauce, but their version came with a much more elevated yuzu sauce. Delicious! The mains were beautifully plated and tasted even better. The salmon had a light, balanced seasoning and was perfectly cooked, not dry at all. The steak and peri peri chicken were well seasoned as well, with a seared crust and moist interior. My daughter loved the pasta, too. For dessert, we ordered the Cloud 9, which was perfectly named. It was a banana cake drizzled with sauce and topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and fresh bananas. We're already planning what to order on our next visit because the menu had so many other items we definitely want to try. This was the best meal we've had in Vancouver, and we highly recommend it.

This is a great place for casual hang outs and quick dates. It's a bit far out in Lonsdale, but I would go out of my way for the views especially in the summer time! The servers are all really nice and they do a great job to communicating with each other to get customers in and up the stairs to their table. For this time, we came in with a group of 6 people and shared a bunch of appetizers and pizzas. I tried the new truffle pasta and although the meatballs were a bit salty, the pappardelle was yummy! King Taps is also quite well known for their delicious pizzas. I've tried a few pizzas in the past and they were quite good, but this time I tried the rotator pizza (vodka pie) and the mac daddy (big mac inspired pizza). The vodka pie was a bit too salty for me, but the mac daddy was interesting and refreshing to try! A lot of people in my group liked the vodka pie as it was something different as well. As always, you can't go wrong with truffle fries and brussels sprouts. I think I like King Taps a little more than Cactus Club as they have more of my preferred variety in the menu. You're not coming here for gourmet food, but you can definitely get solid bites and a solid time with loved ones. If I recall, their happy hour is also unbeatable - $7 cocktails, food starting at $7 and $5 beer/well highballs. King Taps is definitely a go to spot!

I was intrigued by the location even before I came here in person as I could see on the map that it was in a residential area, away from main streets and other commercial businesses. There was only one lady working here (Monika). I came here with my mom. She ordered a Chai Latte and I ordered a Matcha Latte. Our drinks came out fairly quickly but we had to wait quite awhile for our food. We had each ordered a slice of quiche with a bowl of Potato & Leek soup. Monika realized we had waited quite awhile for our food and brought us a chunk of carrot cake on the house to make up for the long wait. She said this cake was their bestseller. No room to eat the cake as tummy space was already taken up by quiche and soup, so we brought the cake home. The cake was quite good indeed and I enjoyed the quiche as well. Drinks and soup could have been better. I would have preferred my Matcha Latte to have been sweeter and my mom felt her Chai Latte was a bit too sweet for her. I think this place has potential and perhaps might do better with a bit more help. It's a charming space in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I do hope there will be more staff working here eventually. Kinda sounded like Monika had taken over this shop not too long ago so...guess it's in a bit of a transitional stage.

I often get the big breakfast type dish with eggs, bacon etc. They had waffles at one stage that the kids loved but that doesn't seem to be available all the time. We can't go past a pancake on the side, as they're so tasty and cheap! Pancakes all round! ($2 each last time we were there). We enjoy coming here for consistent quality in a different setting. Service can be a little slow at times, though friendly, but they're a small, popular location with minimal staff covering the demand. There's also a small bodega type shop if you wanted to grab premade items or less common snacks. If you come in earlier on a weekend, getting a seat shouldn't be a problem. There's also a nice patio to enjoy the sunny days on. Pretty sure I've seen a few dogs here in the past. They do a good hot brunch which I'd recommend if you're in the area or posting through.
