Some friends introduced us to the food when they brought carry out to our house. It was amazing. What we didn't get to enjoy with that introduction was the incredibly friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. We got to experience those delights when we finally visited the location ourselves. We were treated like old friends by our very charming server, and he patiently answered our newbie questions. Everyone in the family had a great meal (even the picky kids were happy). This evening I stopped in on a whim to order carry out. The place was packed! I was still greeted promptly, and treated like a regular. The food was ready quickly, and the delicious smells made me crazy on the drive home. Another fabulous meal! Next time my parents come to visit, I plan to reserve the table in the alcove and treat them to a world-class meal. Even my grumpy dad will love it. read more

There were 5 of us and we ordered the appetizer sampler, large Greek salad, the Rogers Forge (amazing chicken!) and a seafood platter (delicious grilled shrimp and salmon) and had food to spare. Also shared the baklava for dessert. With byob, check was only about $20 per person and we were all stuffed. Friendly staff and everything was delicious. The only thing I'd skip is the rose water ice cream which reminded me of face cream (not exactly what I'm looking for in a dessert). The food was amazing. I got their chicken and beef kabob combo and I absolutely loved it. My kids are picky eaters also and they gobbled it all up. The location isnt very big and parking could become a hassle but we went during rush hour on Tuesday and had no issue at all. Service was excellent. read more

My party of 4 ordered 3 appetizers, 3 soups, 3 rice sides (the best part), 3 yogurt drinks (homemade is better) and 4 entrees and left there for about $75. Fairly disappointed compared with a previous visit in 2017. We ordered the Idlewylde family tour, which was plenty to feed 4 (or 3 if super hungry), but the kabobs were too salty, and not juicy. The platter also only came with 2 roma tomatoes (not enough to share between 3-4 people). The tahdig appetizer was also disappointing as the stew on top (gheymeh) was too salty. I love this restaurant because it feels like a quaint neighborhood joint. Everyone who works there is super friendly and they always remember us. The food is excellent and fairly priced. Pretty good spot for dinner and the serving sizes match the price. We were a group of 3 and the Villagio Special was enough for us. We did substitute the rice it came with for the cherry rice. Their cream of mushroom soup tastes like a family recipe and is quite literally the BEST I have EVER EATEN. The appetizer platter with hot fresh pita is DELICIOUS-- you'll never eat store bought hummus again after trying this. My husband and I have eaten here about 3 times and each time the food and the service is beyond wonderful. Persian cuisine is very sophisticated but also comforting at the same time. The Kobedeh and the home made Persian ice cream are to die for, and even the bread is served warm. There are so many layers to the flavors of these dishes that your taste buds are going to rejoice! The chef is also the owner and he is a very nice gentleman who came to our table after I complimented him to our server. I don't want to be unfair. The food was good. BUT: We drove two hours to get there just because of the good reviews. We got there around 3:00 pm and the place was pretty much empty. When we sat, a woman peaked out of the kitchen, looked at me, smiled, and went back in. She then immediately started a fight back there. We had to uncomfortably sit there, having "lunch", and hear all sorts of SUPER insulting profanity. I understand that everyone has a problem and these things happen. We just expected SOMEONE, ANYONE, to come over our table and at least say "I'm sorry you had to hear all that" Actually, a middle age lady who seemed to be in charge, came out of the kitchen and sat at a table sipping tea. It is prepared fresh and the original Iranian recipes almost always contain some surprises which I haven't found in other restaurants serving similar food. Because of its popularity, it is usually best to go during relatively unpopular times such as between lunch and dinner. There is cheap parking in front using meters for just one dollar per hour, or you can walk a half block from a side street and park for free. We had two close friends come up from Northern, VA yesterday, on a business matter, and persuaded them to stay for lunch. Our male guest first declined, after seeing the name of the place on my computer, thinking it was Italian. His wife convinced him to stay for lunch. When he found out it was Persian, he said that I should have told him this at first, and he would not have been so reluctant to go. My wife and I have been there a couple of times before, and the food has been consistently good. This time, we had the appetizer sampler, very good to share, a little pricey for a four dips, 3 dolmades, and pita bread, but it was nice start. I had the beef kebab lunch special: very good, although it only 4 small meat pieces of meat. My wife had the vegetable stew, which had cinnamon and was little on the sweet side for my liking, but it was tasty enough, although a little pricey for a bean based stew. Our female guest had the chicken kebab lunch special, which she said she enjoyed. Her husband had a beef stew dish, which he enjoyed, stating the portion was the right size, and that it had good flavor. Unfortunately, they were out of baklava yesterday, so we passed on dessert. My wife's Turkish coffee was small and strong, as expected. The American coffee was enjoyed by our guests. Overall, we had a pleasant and quick lunch. It was quiet in the restaurant, not crowded, no need to wait during the lunch hour. We were back in the office within an hour. The service was very good, tag teamed between two very attentive, very pleasant, non-pushy waitresses, one twenty something, and the other middle aged, both white American women. It's not the cheapest lunch if you deviate off the lunch specials, but for the quality of the food and portion size, it seems about right, and it's something a little different than what you usually get in Towson. read more

First of all, my husband is Iranian and we come in with high expectations. For a Baltimore restaurant this is the best (for the standard items we tried), and would give it 4.5 but rounded up 5. The food: We ordered the Mast-o musir, the kashk-o bademjan (renamed Villagio eggplant), salad olovieh, and noon-o panir. For the main dish, we ordered the kabab-e kobideh. Each of the appetizers had an extra special touch. The mast-musir was very thick and had raisins on top, the kashk-o bademjan had perfectly fried slices of garlic, something I have not seen in other Iranian restaurants. The salad olivie was good, but it seemed blended? The noon-o panir was good with fresh greens. The kabob-kubideh was very good. Agree with the other review about the rice. It was cooked to perfection, but they used a very average rice. The rice is the reason for the 1/2 star being docked, but for Baltimore, this is 5 star. read more
