We live about an hour away from this place, but were convinced to make the drive by another couple (who also lives an hour away) to have dinner together. It is so worth the drive! The food is amazing; I didn't try a thing I didn't love - filet, chicken, ground beef, eggplant, 4 different types of rice - and the portions are more than generous! The owner's son was our waiter, and he was incredibly friendly and helpful, attentive but not overbearing. Save room for dessert because the saffron ice cream is out of this world!!! It's a BYOB establishment but has no corking fee, which is fantastic. We were the last people to leave and the chef came out to see how we had liked everything - he was also so personable and happy we enjoyed our time there. Let me start by saying that I am an Iranian and I have tried Persian food in several cities around the states. We tried Lamb koobideh, Chicken Shish kebob with Tah dig, Ghorme sabzi, and the Mast-moosir. Everything we tried tasted great. Specially I was really impressed with the chicken and Ghormesabzi. No. Does not taste authentic at all. But at least it caters to Towson's mostly homogenous population. Baltimore has way better kabob places, so I'd go there. Eating here with my family, who grew up on kabobs and Middle Eastern food, left us with desiring something more. Usually also yogurt sauces are included with kabob plates, but not here. Drove in from far away to get take out from here last night. I was told there was a package of dressing in each container of food (five orders total) but I asked for one extra anyway. Guess what? Got home and found no dressing in any of the five containers - so all I had was the one I had asked for to share for five of us. That was a huge disappointment right from the get go. Not sure what happened here but that really ruined the experience for all of us. The beef koobideh was our favorite of all we tried. The chicken was a little spicy and not as tender as I hoped. The lamb shank was pretty good and so was the filet mignon but next time I would just get the beef kubideh. And ask to speak to a manager about the dressing situation. On my way back to NY I was looking for some authentic Iranian food in Baltimore and I found this. This place is all halal except the Fillet Mignon thing which is not halal ( I don't know why ). I had the yogurt mint cucumber dip, lamb shank and hummus. Very good. I usually don't like lamb so much but the meat was so greatly cooked that it almost fell off the bone. Very tender and well cooked. It was stewed so got some tasty gravy for the rice. Iranian polo is always so good. It's a must visit place. It a 25min drive through the downtown as you get off the I-95 but I must say it was worth the extra drive. read more

Having an Iranian parent, I've been eating Persian food throughout my life. My father insisted this was the greatest Persian restaurant he'd encountered to date, so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. Koobideh is my standard, ground beef kabobs marinated to perfection, served with steamed rice and onion. And the flavor is perfect here. Juicy, savory, tender, everything I could ask for, served elegantly on a family style tray with all the flair of authentic Persian cuisine. The cucumber yogurt was delicious, chunky with the right amount of mint. The bread was excellent and replenished upon request. Service was spot on, attentive and friendly even on a busy Saturday night. I was truly in awe of the entire dining experience and highly recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in experiencing the Creme de la Creme of Iranian dining stateside. read more

This place was really so disappointing. From the number of good things I heard about it, I was sure that it would be good! Unfortunately, most of these individuals are not of Persian descent so ironically they have not had better. Being to Iran and being half iranian, I think I have the upper hand. Everything I tried here was not good. The Koobideh, the stews - everything! They served us burnt rice and cold bread which I had to send back. The inside of the place looks so depressing and dark and on top of that parking is such a hassle. I would not recommend this place - if you want good iranian food please go to house of kabob in maryland or Shamshiri in Virginia. read more

We ordered the Appetizer Platter, the Mahi Mahi Kebab Platter, and the Idlewyde Kebab platter for 6 people! It was more than enough and absolutely delicious. The kebabs were very juicy and flavorful. If you are a meat lover, I would highly recommend the Idlewyde Platter. I didn't try the Mahi Mahi Platter, but it wasn't enough for everyone to share. You also get a separate platter of rice. Their homemade Doogh (Yogurt Drink) is also excellent - if you are coming with a large group, ask for a pitcher of it for the table. They were extremely accommodating for our party and the server was very kind. We ended our meal with the Persian Ice cream which is made with fresh cream, saffron, & pistachio. It was so creamy and delicious. One of the best saffron ice creams I've ever had. Great food, great service, and great ambiance. The kabob's texture and flavor are farthest from aithentic. The food lacks flavor. The kabob koobideh does not seem to made using scewers. Instead, it appears to have been molded into shape. They garnished kabob with kale... I don't even think you can find kale in Iran. If your breath doesn't stink of onions after eating kabob, that's not good kabob. First time eating here and it was delightful. Our waitress was attentive and while waiting for our order we had pita(?) bread. I ordered the Villagio Special and the kabobs were tasty and soft to eat and the rice had a lot of flavor. I also tasted a lamb kabob from my boyfriend's dish and it wasn't chewy, which is good since it means it was cooked thoroughly. These portions are so huge we were able to have leftovers. I would like to come back to taste more than just kabobs. Also, the store looks small but the interior is beautiful. We paid for parking by a nearby meter a couple walks away. read more

Good food and great price! My husband and I usually come here for on average 1-2 x month for our weekday dinners. We usually start off with hummus and large plate of Greek salad- which is quite fresh and tasty. The hummus usually comes with delicious, warm pita bread that will make you forget your daily carb quota. I usually get the chicken or beef kabob- there is plenty of left over food for the next day lunch or dinner. I really enjoy this place. It's not pretentious- just solid food and good service. I called in an order for Lamb Shish Kabob and Beef Koobideh, which appeared from the menu to be a type of sausage. The order was done faster than the promised 20 minutes, which was surprising given that the restaurant was packed when I went in to pick up my order. On a Sunday night. Busy on a Sunday speaks volumes. Anyhow, the beef koobideh was light, flavorful, and tender. The patties were formed in such a way to leave little air pockets, and the serving size was quite generous. Served with basmati rice, it was a filling meal and might leave leftovers for a smaller stomach. The lamb was likewise tasty, but sadly, only included five pieces. For the price, I expected a few more, but it was satisfying nonetheless. We'll definitely be back to try other items off of the menu. read more

Out of the kebabs, the koubideh is my favorite. Especially the lamb koubideh. I also think it is worth upgrading your rice with your meal. My favorite is the adas polo. The appetizers I like are: Villaggio eggplant and baba ghanouj. If you are going with a group it is very economic to do family tours. The meals are very big and filling. This place is amazing!!! The food is amazing. If it's your first time here, I suggest getting the appetizer sampler, so you can try all their amazing mezas. The Persian potato salad is my personal favorite, although the dolmas are some of the best I've ever had. The baba ganoush is far better than the hummus, also a must try if you're a fan. I'd also suggest trying one of the family tours to share so you get to try several of the meats. You won't be disappointed - every meat I've had has been tender, juicy and full of flavor. It's also a good idea to upgrade the plain rice for one of their specialty rices. The rice with lentils and dried fruit is incredible! I can't wait to try more here. This has become a go-to place for my family, whether we want an easy weeknight meal, or a nice weekend dinner out. The atmosphere is nice, the service is also great.
