Mixed Kabobs with Mixed Green Salad

The food at Orchard Market and Cafe is delicious!! We've never had a bad meal here and we've been coming for the last 10+ years. Jason and crew are friendly and very welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you have a great dining experience. From their appetizers to entrees, you can find plenty to choose from. If you want authentic Mediterranean food, look no further than the Orchard Cafe. Tonight's meal was the Mixed Kabobs. We substituted the rice for mixed greens. Attached is a photo of our dishes. Another delicious dinner was had! Thanks again!

The one thing we can always be sure of when we go to the Orchard Market is consistency. Jason and his staff have created a most welcoming and delightful atmosphere for dining. We were warmly greeted by Jason. Our friends started with Sauteed Bulgarian Feta, which is soft, creamy Bulgarian sheep's cheese melted over farm tomatoes and onions and topped with black olives; served with warm pita slices. Their entrees were the Barg (a skewer of butterflied beef tenderloin with grilled tomato & onion, seasoned with sumac) with half salad and half basmati rice; and the Chicken Panir Sabzi (a boneless chicken breast sauteed with onions, mushrooms, artichokes in a melted feta and herb sauce) along with basmati rice. My husband had the Soltani (one full skewer of butterfly-cut beef tenderloin and a skewer of finely ground beef grilled with tomato & onion, seasoned with sumac) with half salad and half basmati rice. I decided to try something new to me and ordered one of their specials. It was the Pistachio Chicken (a boneless breast of chicken in a smokey garlic and cayenne and herb sauce with mushrooms, herbs and pistachios) along with basmati rice. We all agreed that our dinners were scrumptious and filling. BYOB for us is always a plus.

We already had a favorite Persian restaurant in Towson so we were surprised to see a second one in the area and wanted to try. Although not too far off Joppa Rd. you can say this is a somewhat hidden spot in a mini/understated strip mall. When you walk in you're greeted with a partial seating area with plants and awards that showcase recognition for Orchard. Open the window door and you move into a medium size dining area filled with Persian decor/framed art. For sure, Orchard has the edge when it comes to dine-in atmosphere (when compared to the other Persian spot in Towson). Friday at 5:30 there was one couple dining in but takeout was busy as we were quoted 35-40 minutes for our order. (Maybe due to snow forecast?) Didn't see online ordering so called in for takeout. Got an Answer on the second try and ordering was seamless. Ordered the Mixed Kebob and Eggplant/Artichoke dip for appetizer. Asked what we should try and the friendly Gentleman recommended the Lamb Bademjune. Mixed Kebob came with Beef, Chicken and Tenderloin. All the meats were seasoned just right with the chicken standing out. We liked their Basmati rice also as it wasn't greasy/overloaded with butter. The Eggplant/Artichoke was a surprise as we missed the Sweet Mustard sauce ingredient so we were expecting savory. It was a bit too sweet for us and almost could have been a dessert. Don't think we would order this one again. The Bademjune was tasty with tender lamb, eggplant in the savory tomato sauce. We only got one Pita (thinking for the appetizer) so if you like Pita with your entrees you'll need to put in an order for extras Would like to come back and eat-in. Service was friendly and great to find this spot!

    Aash appetizer.

I went for the lunch menu and I very much enjoyed the Filet and Provolone Pita Pocket Sandwich. It was flavorful and tender and filling. The meat was standout, I liked how thin the pita pocket was in each bite, though it did tear easily and so eating by hand could be messy. I think the thin pita pocket used for the sandwich is different from the more bread-like pita cut up and served with the soup as an appetizer. I was curious and had the Aash, a thick chickpea and lentil soup, to start, and it was good but the hearty flavors were familiar. While I was sitting a couple and a group of four came in, and the server was able to greet a few by name. He was quick if I ever looked for him, but didn't hover or check in too often like some small places do. It was a relaxed experience. I appreciated that the check itemized how much would be due if paid in cash, and the slight increase from the credit card fee if using a card instead.

Here's another place I never knew existed that is amazing! It's tucked away in a business park, but we'll worth looking up and going too for dinner! As soon as you walk into the restaurant you feel transformed as if you've gone somewhere else, the waiter is super friendly and seems to know everyone who comes in. The ambiance is amazing and like you're eating at a friends house. The food is all fantastic and made to order! Highly recommend this place and if you're thinking about visiting check them out during the week, they offer great specials!

This place is an amazing hidden gem! I was looking up somewhere good to eat for lunch, and I found this on Yelp, then got lost finding it, bc it is located behind Gardiners Furniture in a side strip shopping center. Now that I talked about the hidden part. I'll tell about why it's a gem. I got a unique pita sandwich with curry braised beef tongue, and it was flavorful, tender chunks of meat, tomatoes, lettuce all wrapped in a warm pita. It was served with a yogurt cucumber sauce thar made it even more fresh and delicious! You couldn't tell from the outside, but this place is so cute inside. They have ornate table clothes and beautiful Persian decor. The owner is very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed my lunch and I'm looking forward to go back to try something else! :)

I attended a wedding celebration there on Thursday and am happy to report I was wrong. The staff was professional and welcoming. It was pretty chaotic with people randomly showing up. They took it all in stride. We were offered water and drinks immediately as we waited for the bride and groom. While we had a "set" menu, every option sounded delicious. Finally the happy couple joined us and we could order for real! I doubled down ordering both hot crab dip and crab cakes. Hot rolls. Yes and they were fantastic. The dip was good. Our servers brought out to go containers almost immediately. It wasn't possible to eat all the food available. I ordered a blue margarita. Strong and yummy. Tasted the crab cake which was good as well. The broccoli seemed an afterthought. Cooked well but NO SEASONING! Who does that? All in all it was a wonderful celebration with family and friends. I'll be back to finish exploring the menus!

Inexpensive street parking as well as convenient garage parking near. Upon entry SUPER CROWDED. College students and young adults everywhere. Despite the heavy crowds, there manages to always be a seat for my party, the employees are fantastic, and the food continues to be delicious. On 3'13'2026, I visited w GodSis, and was assisted by Kyle. Kyle had a big personality and was very pleasant. Collectively, we ordered the following. HH-House Wine (White) - Amazing as usual. HH-House Wine (Red/ White) - Refreshing Broccoli - Came out cold, sent back for hot broccoli. HH-Steamed Shrimp - Plentiful and yum. HH-Grilled Lamb Chops - Tender, well plated, savory. HH-Thai Chili Wings - Amazing flavor, great texture and temp. Fries - Ok. Room temp. HH- Spinach and Artichoke Dip - Very good. Plentiful. Yup, I'll surely return to hang out w the future if tomorrow.

But it's true that this place is 4/5 or possibly worse for sitting down, so they kinda deserve it for that. Got takeout from here today and have dined in thrice before--excellent, never had anything slightly bad here. (Those who complain of bland rice must have never had the displeasure of eating over-salted polo--here, it does range from slightly under salted to perfect, but is never too salty.) When I've sat down, the service was good and servers were very polite (and kind about my attempts to speak Persian), but man I cannot get over the weird ambiance--it seems like others can't either; takeout orders predominated by at least 5:1 every time. Walking in you're nervous the place will be dirty with bad food, but it's actually neither, just dim, dated and not well maintained--please at least trash the dead roses so I also prefer the takeout experience. In descending order of absolute best to just good things I've had here: Gheymeh (!!), lamb shank (!!), kashk-e bademjoon (theirs is my favorite!), all kabobs, ghormeh sabzi (not the best I've ever had but pretty good), fesenjoon, salmon (wasn't very Persian, but good) Mast-based appetizers are a bit eh to me but they're the same here as everywhere else. I always get ice cream, it's a really nice treat. I love Persian food and I love introducing people to Persian food, so I wish this was a nicer sit down place to bring people to. I would be up here all the time if it were--there's other middle eastern restaurants northwest of and in Baltimore that I LOVE taking people to because they're both beautiful inside and delicious. But I do so love the food here.

FALAFEL WARNING WOOT!!! WOOT!!!!…read more We stopped in here Memorial Day only after finding that Kathmandu Kitchen was closed for the holiday. Now, I had no great expectations of a fantastic food experience, knowing that in the past the food has been mediocre at best, and the service only good if you look Middle Eastern. The three of us ordered the falafel lunch special-major mistake. From here on out it will be referred to as the big falafel fail. It started out with ordering. The manager rang us up and I could tell that he overcharged me, so I asked for a receipt. He then did some spin doctoring, by screwing up his face, playing with my money and asking ME how much the falafel was. I looked over my shoulder and asked him if he was talking to ME. (No, this isn't that scene from Taxi Driver) He muttered something I couldn't understand, re-rang me and it was 3 dollars cheaper. Before eating I used the bathroom-no toilet paper, no hand towels, no hot water--Three bad hygiene strikes and you're out! The Big Falafel Fail: Our sandwiches were ready. We all had a couple bites, and then we looked at each other, because we knew there was something wrong. It basically tasted like deep fried parsley and other gunk-it was a mushy, disgusting, bitter mess over wilted lettuce. If there was a grain of chick pea meal in it, a microscope would have been needed to detect it. Now, the menu says that the falafel sandwich is supposed to come with tahini (sesame paste). It came with runny tzatziki. The bread was good, though-there, one star. It will be a long day in suburban hell before I ever eat at this hut again.

I looked at the menu before I arrived and called in my order. I settled on the boneless chicken tandoori meal. I also requested the green chatni (chutney?) sauce. It came with stewed curry chickpeas, salad, basmati rice & naan. I got the garlic naan and I believe it's an up charge for the garlic version. They give you two big pieces, which could be saved for a quick sandwich the next day. I was less than ten minutes away from the restaurant, so there was a bit of a wait for my meal to be prepared. After about ten minutes, everything was ready. When I got home, I was so excited when I pulled the container from the bag. The aromas of garlic, spices and flavors filled my home. I poured the chatni sauce over my chicken, rice and salad. It was all so amazingly delicious. The chicken was ridiculously tender and flavorful. The salad was simple and fresh. And the stewed curry chickpeas were surprisingly very tasty! I normally do not like consistency of raw/uncooked chickpeas, but in this meal, they were so very good! With tip, the meal came to about $28. A bit on the pricier side, but not a huge shock with the current state of the economy. The servers and host were accommodating and very kind. I would absolutely go back!
