We did a class at a park, which was nice. It was also a small class so John could watch what we were doing. We went through adult, child, and infant CPR and choking. I asked specific questions regarding how Zoom/virtual teaching would work, because I thought it was a one on one situation. And Eric is right, I have no ability to judge their teaching because I did not take a class, but this review is not in regard to their teaching, it is for their unprofessional and angry/reactive correspondence that I am reviewing. Again, if they are turning away potential clients in a nasty way, who wants to give them their business?

In urgent cases, every second counts. Instructor Taku Nakasaka is patient. He was thorough in teaching my parents tell tale signs of an onset heart failure, and more importantly, what to do in such an event. Every one should have the basic understanding of CPR and First Aid, especially those with aging parents or small children. He gives Yelp discount if you ask for it.

I'm writing this as someone who toured the school, not as a former student…read more Scheduling a tour was easy, and everyone I met was friendly. The woman who gave me the tour was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. What caught me off guard was how quickly a simple tour turned into setting up a FAFSA account and discussing a $17,000 student loan. I remember thinking, Wait...I just came to look around. For me, $17,000 is a lot of money for a massage program--especially when that's on the higher end of tuition. By the time interest is added, you could easily end up paying well over $20,000. That's not a decision anyone should make in one afternoon. I also expected a little more for that price. The facilities weren't bad, but they weren't exactly new or high-end either. If you're charging premium tuition, I'd expect a campus that reflects it--or at least a location that feels a little more upscale. With the economy the way it is, I also wonder about taking on that much debt for a career in an industry that's often considered a luxury expense. My advice: take the tour, ask questions, then go home and think about it. Don't let anyone rush you into borrowing $17,000.
