Started coming to VILLANUEVA CPR several years ago when I first moved to the ER and needed ACLS and PALS certifications. Angelo came highly recommended by my co-workers and I've been coming here ever since. Angelo's teaching style is straightforward and concise. He focuses on what's important and teaches in a way that makes it easy to understand. In addition, Angelo doesn't just teach the material but provides practical information about it that I can bring back and put into practice at work. Angelo is organized, responds quickly, and is very accommodating. Classes are super easy to book. Not only that, the classroom is clean, there's a private parking lot with a lot of spaces, and class sizes aren't that big. Super convenient! My work offers ACLS/PALS classes so they no longer reimburse us for classes taken somewhere else, but I continue to attend Angelo's classes because he's the best! Always convenient to get my BLS renewal done here. No appt or reservation needed. They offer the BLS training everyday I believe at 8:30am (maybe call to confirm that, but I've gone on a Sat before, not sure about Sun). Grace is a great instructor. Knowledgeable & friendly. I paid 200 for ACLS/BLS renewal for a class being offered in July 2023, I had to reschedule per their agreement and notified them; rescheduling is fine if done within 30 days of initial payment. I have sent about 3 or 4 text message inquiring about a future class, and I have not heard back, finally on 7/28/2023 I filed for a refund from my bank. Last time I took this class in 2021, it took longer than normal to get my electronic card. I wont go back at this point, this is very unprofessional. read more

Great experience. I was referred here by some emergency medicine physicians that I know at Harbor-UCLA, and this place is located nearby. I'm a pediatric intensivist so I am accustomed to running codes and doing PALS, but I needed ACLS certification for a new job and was fortunate to come here and be trained by Angelo. The pace was definitely appropriate for me. It may be quick for people who are less familiar with the subject matter, but I appreciated that his course hit the highlights and felt like a good use of my time. Another spot on through Yelp. I needed to get my ACLS and found this place. Signing up process was easy via their website or you can call them up to schedule the class. Angelo contacted me via email the next day after I signed up for the class (signed up late the night before). Told me what I needed to bring to class. Arrived to class and wasn't sure what to expect from the facility. Angelo greeted me the moment I walked in (very nice.. off to a good start). Signed in and was told to help myself to some coffee, beverages and snack (sweet, I forgot my coffee and snack at home). I wasn't going to make it through the class without my coffee nor would I have the energy to do any chest compressions for the practical. The facility and mannequins were clean. (Yes bathroom too.) Course was very informative. He explained everything very clearly and was medically knowledgable when he was asked questions even when they were unrelated to the course. The class was small so time rolled by so much faster. It helped that he was funny too. He took the time to explain proper technique and correct any student that needed the help. How effective would it be for taking the class and end up doing it all wrong in the real world? I ended up renewing my BLS at the same time. Killed 2 birds with one stone. BLS is pretty much the foundation for ACLS, so why not get it over with too. He laminated all our cards before we left. That was nice. I would definitely recommend this place to other people. If I need a PALS certification or renew my ALCS/BLS, I'm going back here. read more

Sooooo, I have been attending ACLS classes, but was still not confident handling a code blue. I did my share but with lots of anxiety. As a RN for almost a decade, I find that it is rare to be entertained and feel like I learned enough to make the class worthwhile to attend. Mandatory certifications often lack these qualities, but Angelo offered something a little different. Greeted with snacks, keurig coffee, tea and a clean, professional atmosphere. Nice location, updated mannequins, relaxed delivery of information that is sensicle. Presentation often contains a nugget or two of fresh ideas that make this interesting- not painful. I would say price, presentator, place... all good here! Allows BLS certification to be combined into ACLS class at a discount... Let me switch class dates last minute.
