Money well spent! My anxiety level was really high coming into this class. Being a first timer taking ACLS, studying the book before class was already overwhelming. No matter how much I read the book, I just couldn't grasp how everything worked & how it all connects together. I almost cancelled the class because I didn't feel I was ready. I honestly thought I'd fail the test. Thank goodness for Sir Angelo and this class. Villanueva CPR is BOMB.com this is my 2nd time taking ACLS here... As a health care Provider we all know how complicated ACLS can be. Not here, the Instructor makes it so EASY, FUN and ENJOYABLE. Sir Angelo is the best! He's very friendly, funny and knows his material! I honestly cant wait to have his class again in 2 years! The process to register was easy and the location wasn't hard to find. My mom who recommended me to him has been going to him for YEARS. When I had his class last sunday, I knew he was the real deal when he started teaching! His class is fully equipped-- mannequins to practice on, AED machines/crash cart, showed us videos, lots of chairs (very spacious), and offers the ACLS book for ($45). Contacted this business about 3 weeks ago via text regarding their AHA BLS renewal class. I received an answer right away and was informed classes are m-s on a walk-in basis at 8:30a everyday. I finally made it in today and took the class! Friendly and courteous. Grace taught the class and she was great! Explained everything thoroughly. Even though I was renewing I learned so much. Class took about 2 hours. And I received my card by 4:45pm via email. Price was not bad. Totally worth my time and what I paid ($60). His lectures has pointed things out that I have not known before which has allow me to gain further insight related to his ACLS class. Grace V. Cabuhug is the CPR lady with the best instruction, she really knows what she's talking about! I have been to her former location by the shopping center near the In N Out, but this new location off of Carson and Delores is much more suited for the CPR renewal class. First off, make sure to call (310) 427-0883 and ask if the class is available. I took mine on a Saturday at 8:30am and was told to arrive at 8am to be sure to have a spot in the class. I was also told to bring $50 cash. There's plenty of parking in the lot or the street. I forgot to bring paper, but it wasn't a problem because she supplied us with paper and pencils if we needed it to take notes. There were snacks, refreshments, and a Keurig coffee maker...all for free! There was only one bathroom, but it was clean and well stocked. Grace is very thorough, making sure that we take note of key points that could be on the test. She also encourages us to use pencil when taking the test so we could erase if we make a mistake. There were 23 questions and you can miss only 4 to pass. Last time I got a 100%, but this time I missed 1 just because I probably missed a key point from going to the bathroom a multiple of times due to the free coffee I was enjoying! I hardly drink coffee, but hey this was free, I couldn't pass that up! She also laminates your card and makes sure we double check to see that the information and spelling is correct. Another added bonus is the fact that she's filipino, I love the accent, it kept me entertained and I felt very comforted to know that she wanted each of us to pass this test. So if you are in need of a CPR renewal through the American Heart Association which is required every 2 years as part of being a healthcare provider, then go to Villanueva CPR! read more

Seriously...what a great place to get certified/re-certified. This place was recommended to me by many (and I mean many) of my co-workers. I did the bls/acls combo and it was definitely a time saver. Angelo is great. He's definitely a people-person...knows how to interact with people and makes you feel comfortable. He's so informative and you learn a lot. He goes over main points and explains rationales in a clear and concise manner. He is very efficient and it makes the class go by quickly. I've been here before for my BLS renewal. Recently I came for ACLS/BLS renewal combo. Might as well just get them both at the same time since I'm here. They have ACLS classes m/w/sat that start at 8:30 am. And I think BLS every morning that also start at 8:30. If you take the ACLS/BLS it's all intertwined in the ACLS class and you just take both tests at the end. Angelo keeps things simple but is also thorough. Makes sure you learned everything so that you are prepared for a code situation in real life. He is also knowledgable and kind. There's free snacks and coffee that you can help yourself to throughout the class. It was difficult to reach him earlier in the morning, but it's because he's just busy teaching the class. It's better to call in the afternoon if you need to. You can schedule and pay online too. The class the day I went was actually pretty packed with around 15 people. People from all over come to take his classes. ACLS $150 + BLS $50. read more

This place is great! I found them through yelp and showed up today for my BLS certification class. It is located in a strip mall so there was plenty of parking right in front. I showed up early and found a table of complimentary coffee, granola bars and chocolates!! The class itself was very straight forward and took roughly 3 hours for 14 people to complete. The exam was 25 multiple choice questions which was thoroughly covered in class. I would highly recommend this place for any certifications you need. read more

I have been getting certified for years now since I need certification for work, but this is my least favorite place so far. The instructor was fairly rude and acted like they knew everything when someone asked a question, and it took while to get my card. The classroom I was in was small and crowded and was uncomfortable to be in. Never again! Very unhappy with the service. read more

Angelo is amazing! Best teacher for ACLS & BLS...EVER!!!! I have been getting certified for ACLS for over 10 years, but this was (by far) the absolute best ACLS class I have ever taken. I let my ACLS & BLS lapse, so I needed to re-take the courses (inital certification). I have worked in L&D and haven't seen a lot of codes (knock on wood!), which makes this whole ACLS thing kind of intimidating. I didn't even know how to "read" a 12-lead EKG until today. I am not an expert by any means, but Angelo taught some basics that included what location of the heart was involved & what that meant in regards to what to do & what not to do (give/withhold nitro/IV fluids). Some of this important information is mentioned in the ACLS manual, but not with the actual explanation or rationale. His explanation of ACLS and BLS is so amazing and helpful. He uses diagrams/visuals along with pathophysiology that I can actually understand, and that actually makes sense! Angelo has recently gotten certified as a NRP instructor so I am going to schedule my skills portion with him. I wish Angelo taught other classes like 12 lead EKG and just basic pathophysiology because he does it so well. Angelo...Hint hint!!! Angelo is a gifted instructor and teacher. Not everyone is good at doing this, but Angelo has found "his calling" as far as I am concerned. I like how he actually taught us how to use the defibrillators & AEDs instead of just assuming that we knew how to work them like every other ACLS instructor does! He explained so much about V-tach (narrow vs. wide), stable vs. unstable, what to do & what not to do. He helped me understand what type of SVT actually converts with adenosine and why it does...I had assumed that all SVT was either given adenosine or cardioverted. If you need to take BLS, ACLS, NRP, or PALS--make sure you go to Angelo...he is the absolute best! Thank you Angelo for teaching me so much in such a brief period of time. Classrooms clean sand the temperature comfortable. The Instructor, Angelo is knowledgeable, concise, gifted with the teaching ability that makes me eager to learn. This is a totally stress free zone. Gives you ample time to ask questions. Also he provides water and hot beverages with some granola bars. Registration is easy. This year I actually got a reminder email from him.
