The seller of the house we wanted was back and forth on us for months so I didn't even know if we would get the house. This is when I looked for month-to-month renting options nearby. I wanted a place near where we're planning to move so that I won't have to move my kids from their schools again. It was already stressful enough they had to transfer into a new school a month after it started, so I found this place. Jennifer, the Community Manager here, got back to me immediately, sent me an email and gave me the options they had available. She was responsive, sweet, and accurate with all the details I needed. I reached out to a few other places where the community managers either took weeks to get back to me or didn't seem too thrilled when I asked for a tour of the apartment. Jennifer offered the tour for me and got right to it when I arrived to look at the place. We moved from a 6-bedroom house into a 2-bedroom condo here, but we only needed it for 17 days, so I couldn't complain. I didn't even bother unpacking a lot of my stuff. The place is clean, updated, washer and dryer in the unit, plenty of storage space in the corner unit, and the place was very well maintained. Everyone we met here were really nice, offered help and one lady even came by and gave us a bottle of water while we were moving to welcome us to the neighborhood. I wished we got to stay longer and really enjoy this place, but now I'm just a few blocks away anyway. We ended up getting the house that the lady was back and forth on for 3 months, we got to take our time to move out since we had the place for a month, and even then, Jennifer remained kind and helpful through it all. You don't have to rent this place month to month like I did, but if you ever need an apartment in La Costa, I would definitely recommend this place. In addition, there is a truly difficult issue that has remained unresolved for many years, and this issue stems from some of the residents living in this building. There is one very unpleasant and unhygienic issue here. Some residents do not clean up after their dogs, especially in the dog park, which is heavily littered with dog waste. Every time we bring our dog here, we have to clean up at least 7-10 piles of feces to prevent our dog from stepping in it and bringing it home, even though I always clean their paws after going outside. This situation has made me no longer want to visit the dog park, as it is dirty and foul-smelling, and most importantly, I constantly have to clean up after others. This dog park is no longer a place for dogs to run and play, but has instead become a dumping ground for dog waste. I hope the building owner can take steps to ensure that residents take responsibility for cleaning up after their dogs, so the dog park can remain clean and enjoyable. This park was an important reason why we decided to move here eight years ago. However, since moving in, I have often found myself cleaning up dog waste left by other people, both on the lawn in front of our home and in the dog park. Carla is always prompt and professional when responding to any of my requests or concerns. You can tell she takes pride in her job and really cares about the residents living here. She is truly one of the main reasons why I have lived here for so long. Maintenance team is also top tier. David is amazing at servicing any issues or repairs. He truly works hard and provides the best customer service. My stove recently needed to be replaced and the process was seamless! Within a few days I had a brand new and beautiful replacement. Parking is great, the laundry room is always maintained and clean! The landscaping is unlike any other! It feels like a tropical getaway. And the current person talks over tenants who do pay $2300-3000 a months if we are HUD. I wish the owners have to live here for a month. The company is not approved the Better Business Bureau.

If you are not local to drop off a check, the 'bill pay' check takes 5-7 days but leasing only gives you 72 hrs for deposit refund. * No initial disclosure of the third-party screening company used during the application process, making it difficult to follow up directly. * Most professional complexes automatically send screening report details via the portal or email. Here, I had to ask separately for the screening company name and report---3 times before I actually got it. * Poor follow-up to my unanswered calls with unclear application timeline made it difficult to know what was happening, creating unnecessary delays and uncertainty. * At one point, I called the office and got no answer -- but then received a vague reply to my email shortly after, which felt inconsistent. I was able to get clarified: * Utility charges (water, sewer, trash) are split among residents, and there is no clear breakdown of usage--meaning residents could be overpaying regardless of personal usage.
