10/10 for food and service! Went in grab lunch the other day, we got the King Karaban Sandwich and Crazy Caprese both on ciabatta bread. The Caprese had a ton of flavor, it had fig vin cotto which I was a little worried about thinking it might be too sweet but to my surprise it was absolutely delicious! Huge portion sizes, we ended up having leftover and it all tasted just as delicious the next day! I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches! Let me just start by saying I am absolutely obsessed with the angry Italian. I work up here coming from Philly from time to time and every single time I find out I am coming up here for work all I can think about is this place and specifically the angry Italian. Such a delicious take on a classic Italian much more jazzed up and flavorful. The bread. What can I say other than I would be happy with just the bread. Grabbed lunch from here and it was a great experience. I have been craving sandwiches this summer and this place definitely hit the spot. My friends and I got three sandwiches to share - angry Italian, chipotle blt, and the townie. The best one was the angry Italian - the pepperoncini definitely added a bit to be missed dynamic. The chipotle bit was my second favorite but was a little too salty for my taste. The townie was good but I personally wasn't a fan of the horseradish mayo as it felt like it overwhelmed the sandwich. The shops are locally owned and operated by owners and staff who genuinely care about their products and enjoy sharing their knowledge the beer wine and cheese selections. The creative sandwiches, soups and salads will have you coming back again and again to see what's on the special menu and enjoy their creations. It's a great place with deliciously unique sandwiches and pleasant staff. My ONLY frustration is in the many many years I've been getting Togo sandwiches and order online with a "tip in advance" (which is a weird new thing at many places) - I have never ever ever once received a thank you for the tip. Didn't realize this was more than a wine shop until I read they were a best of Metrowest lunch spot. Kinda pricey. Don't think you can get out of there for under $10 per head. But the food was really good. The selection was a notch above basic deli. Service was quick. And they offer both eat in and take out. They had a bag of black truffle potato chips out for samples. All locally sourced food and very fresh taste! I enjoy the ambience here, they have wine, beer, and great sandwiches salad and soup. Lots of locals come through here and you are always greeted by welcoming staff and it feels like a great time whether you sit in or do take out. I really enjoyed the NE clam chowder (green onion and bacon really hit the spot) and the Italian sandwich. They have daily specials too which always sounds tasty. I personally think it is really overpriced for what you get, but the food is tasty. I had the 1/2 soup 1/2 sandwich lunch with a Reuben on marbled rye bread and clam chowder. The marbled rye was a very good loaf of bread, but it was sliced thick which made the ratio of bread to corned beef a bit off - I would have like more meat. OMG, I had not been back since they opened. The ventilation is terrible, and it overwhelms with the food smell. It wasn't clean, and the wine shelves were empty. A couple of selections I would have loved to take home, but the staff was aloof, and no one came to ask even though there wasn't anyone in! They seemed to be working on a catering order. The furniture was never taken care of since its Panzano days. Sad. I was such a Vin Bin fan when they first opened. Then something happened to the owner. I still love the sandwiches of the first gig in Marlborough, truly Chef was the local sandwich king. I grabbed a loaf of my yearned for bread and one of the cookies that transported me back to the glory days of Panzano, and a cleaner, brighter and much tighter day. C'mon folks. I love this place!!! I've been coming here for years but last week, had my first sandwich snafu. They made it right instantly! I had already gone back to work for the day so the manager assured me that I would have a gift card waiting for me when I came back for my next order. Food is good...however, it's a tad overpriced for the small portion you receive. Another con is you can literally purchase a single beer from here, but you can't drink it there. Also, I'm not from Southborough and I noticed the store has an awful mix of customers- half rich privileged yuppies(literally saw the rudest man I have ever heard talking to the employees, while wearing Gucci.) half elitist hipsters types. If I eat here again, which I probably will once in a while because the food is quite good, I'll go to a less "elite" location. This is not Vin Bins fault, just an unfortunate clientele. They have gluten-free sandwiches here, with bread that tastes good! Everything is locally sourced, tastes good. Ambiance-wise, you're in a wine store, which has a few tables set up. It's not bad, just kinda feels weird to be eating in a liquor store. It's pretty cold in here too, even on a not-so-cold December day. The staff was very nice as well. The main knock is that it's pretty expensive for the portion you get. I wasn't particularly starving when getting there, though my wife was, and the sandwich was about 5 bites. We were still pretty hungry after finishing our meal. So hungry that we went next door for ice cream. I wouldn't come here if looking for a solid meal, but it would be nice on a summer's day to come through, get a light lunch, and enjoy it outside. This was our first time coming here. I got the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and a cup of chowder. That chowder is the best in Metro west, IMO. Love the paninis here! This is near my work so I come here frequently, especially on splurge Fridays. They have rotating specials to keep stuff interesting. Vin Bin is a popular lunchtime spot on weekdays due to all the offices nearby. This is what drew me in the first place, as it is one of the closest to my office. Service is brisk thanks to an army of sandwich-makers mobilized to meet the demand, but I still suggest calling in your order ahead of time. I've tried several of their sandwich offerings and its been a mixed bag. The ingredients they use are solid, but to call their preparation methods unrefined would be an understatement. Every sandwich is drenched with whatever sauce it calls for. This overwhelms the flavors of the actual ingredients and is detrimental to the texture of the sandwich as well. I was really surprised to be served such food at a place like this, which has the pretensions of being a cut above a typical Boar's Head-tier sandwich shop. Initially I thought this flaw was a one time thing. But after getting a variety of sandwiches over a 1+ year period, I have concluded that it is their manifesto that no sandwich shall go un-drenched. If you think this property of their sandwiches could disagree with you, I strongly suggest letting them know when placing your order. Otherwise, prepare a lot of napkins. My solution has become to stick with the Chicken Tzatziki sandwich. The tzatziki sauce they use is so tasty that I don't mind the sandwich being submerged in it. The sandwiches are a reasonable value price and quantity-wise. They also have wine, baked goods, cheese, and salads. Perhaps I'm off my rocker and Vin Bin is great-its popularity sure attests to this. So I'd say its worth a shot if you're nearby. read more
