I like coming here for lunch, it is nice location and we sat outside this last time it was very pretty. All of the food looks great when it comes out and it is a bit pricey but you get large portions so I feel like it is worth it. I love visiting Austin. Such great places to eat. We arrived around 5 pm loved that there was plenty of parking which can be difficult in Austin on the weekend. We entered and asked if we sat ourselves the bartender Shelly who seemed irritated by our question seated us with no greeting. Our waiter Mike was way more friendly, we asked about our choices and he said it was two of his favorites. The first beer choice was out so we selected another and a glass of wine for about 9. Dollars a glass. I opted for the turkey sandwich with a side Cesar. It wasn't big but it was delicious. My friend ordered the Kale salad which was huge and good to eat. Brunch review! Came here on Saturday with a group right when it opened. The outdoor seating is the best because it is shaded by this giant oak tree. Makes it a lot more bearable in that TX heat. They have a ton of healthy juices and drinks on the menu, that you can make alcoholic, which makes you feel a little less guilty about that Saturday brunch drink. You gotta start with the kale fritters and the mini biscuits for the table. The jam that comes with the biscuits is amazing. For our entrees we all got a mix of salads and sandwiches. I loved the Asian salad, added chicken for some extra protein. Only downside was the slow service, we had to go in to try and get our check and pay. Could have just been short staffed. read more

Big fan of Vinaigrette - typically get the La Pepita (on special during their HH, from 2:30-4pm weekdays), however recently had their hot turkey sandwich and was floored by it's deliciousness. Very good for those of us who enjoy good food but also don't want to eat a bit more on the healthy side. I had the duck confit salad which was filling and delicious. and washed it down with afresh margarita (the salt they used for the rim was absurdly good). Also, I chose to eat outside in the back patio because the Austin fall weather was beautiful. This was proved a mistake since shortly into meal a homeless guy with a pink guitar stopped through the back exit to talk trash about all the patrons and throw shade since we should dare to eat at a restaurant while people outside were hungry(?). This is a great place to bring your kids. The outdoor seating is very spacious. My 2 and 4 year old devoured a grilled cheese that came with a few apple slices and veggies (celery and carrots). I got the kale cesar with salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked. It had a crisp outside and was soft interior, well seasoned. The Ruben and omega are still solid. This is a great neighborhood gem. Wanted a fresh salad after hiking the Greenbelt. Ordered the Mac n cheese (splurge) and the special, a Nicoise with seared tuna to share. Mac wasn't impressive. It was creamy but fairly ordinary for $7. The salad arrived with dressing although we'd asked for it on the side. She took it back and brought a 2nd. My date had to flag down the bus girl for a fork since the waitress took his with his Mac cheese plate. The $15 salad wasn't anything outstanding either. There was a tiny bit of asparagus, tomatoes and potatoes and a lot of anchovies, capers, and olives. There wasn't any boiled egg as the menu claimed. The tuna steak was small but well done. I guess the kicker was the bill where we were charged for two salads. We flagged down the waitress and she mumbled something about since we shared it they thought there were two...um no. My family and I decided to spend the day in Austin. We check out Vinaigrette which looked really cool in pictures. However, I am truly dissolved with the service we received here. We were a table of 5, the restaurant was empty expect another couple. Yet it took the host several to figure were to sit us!!! The whole restaurant is empty!!! Then our server came by, and handed us menus. He didn't introduce himself or even gave recommendations. We order our food & I order the Ginger Turmeric Tonic . My family pointed the fact that my drink had been sitting on the bar top for several minutes. Our server (Dante) was no where to be found.... I asked the host if she could hand the drink, that was literally right next to her. She asked our server... but I think she realized it's just easier to grab the drink next to her and give to me. I was about to just grab the drink myself. Upon arrival we never received the complimentary bread, so we asked another server if we could have some. I think he was mad that we asked him... he brought out the basket and one plate!!!! One plate for 5 people I don't understand the logic but okay. We finally got our food. However, my sister's salad didn't have tomatoes after she specifically told the server that she wanted tomatoes & avocado 3 times. That was another hassle. We ran all out of water, and by this time it felt we bothering the whole staff. We ask another server if bring the water pitcher and we can do it. The food was delicious but the terrible customer service didn't make it worth it at all. Out of all the restaurants in Austin we decided this one, and received one of the worst customer experience I have ever had. The server didn't even ask us what brought us in(special occasion), his name, nothing. I think he spoke 5 whole words to us the entire time we were there. We will definitely take our business elsewhere, and people should too! There is so many delicious healthy restaurants with way better customer service in Austin. Sorry, I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but must share here. I've NEVER had such a despicable Ruben sandwich in my life! And the cost only represents just how off this restaurant is. My guess is that the fans are those who believe what the restaurant tells them, rather than having their own tastes and discretion. I loved the kale nachos years earlier, but the cost of their food is absolutely ridiculous for what you receive. I paid $20 for a Rueben sandwich that had 80% gristle and a small (3 bite salad on the side). Maybe I'm spoiled with the Rueben from Neilsen's in Houston, and I usually am very forgiving with restaurants, believing their customer loyalty is worth the try. All the pricing only indicates the loyal youngsters who believe you have to pay a lot for quality food. They are highly misguided. read more

This star rating is only based on their food and decor. The roasted tomato soup is great! So incredibly smooth and savory and there isn't any cream - I like that! I got a balanced mushroom and spinach salad with ginger miso vinaigrette which was pretty tasty. My only complaint was that it didn't have enough variety - I felt like I was just a whole bunch of spinach and mushroom and it got really boring. I love salad bars bc I can pack it with tons of other fun ingredients like peppers and other veggies that give it variety. But I could just be particular. The boy got the tuna salad salad and he liked his a lot. It was a bit too tart for my liking, but generally enjoyed the few bites that we traded (for that variety component). Service was god awful. Barely anybody in the restaurant and we couldn't get water for like 10 minutes, our order for another 10-15 minutes and even at the end with the check, we wanted to get away quickly, but it took forever for our two servers to even bring or pick up our check. We were trying to make it to do other things before a wedding, so coming here was a bit of a waste of time. We thought salad was fast, but the service made this so long. It wouldn't have been so disappointing if we hadn't seen five servers or employees just milling around the bar area at almost all times or if the place was over crowded, but nope, maybe five or six small groups (for a place that has over 30 tables) and so many servers. read more

It was one of the closest restaurant to me and the Omega salad looked good. I check the reviews and saw that most there were some saying the pricing was a bit much but figured I'd pay for good food. Nice setting with outdoor and indoor seating options. I sat at the bar. I ordered my omega salad as in the picture but it didn't come out quite like the picture. It seems to have less avocado but at nearly $20 I'd expect more than 4 shrimps. I also ordered some passion fruit alcoholic beverage for about $10. It was very sour and had no taste of alcohol whatsoever. Overall the food was ok but the setting was dope. I also liked that there was parking. I went around lunch time so maybe dinner might be a different vibe.i don't think I'd go back personally. read more

Fantastic lunch spot. It's just south of South Congress so you avoid the chaos but it's close enough so you still feel involved. The salads are obviously great. I got the Tuna Salad Salad which was perfectly dressed and comes with meaty chunks of tuna and artichoke hearts. They also have a big bar with some unique drinks, I ordered this refreshing yet earthy golden beet and grapefruit concoction. Didn't bring silverware, had to steal from next table, good luck flagging down a waiter/waitress for anything like to order another drink or a water refill... On my last visit, TWICE (and 25 minutes later) the waitress got my drink wrong. Did she offer correct her mistake or offer me one of the wrong drinks while the correct one was made? no? Did the manager notice anything? What manager? Add to that that the greens aren't organic, and voila a one star. read more

Food was ok, I expected more flavor. My salad (spinach mushroom $10.25 w/out shrimp) was spinach, sautéed mushrooms, bacon and egg. I would keep the egg out, as it the salad started to cool down the egg just left this weird taste to it. Oh ya the yam string were sooooo greasy they were not enjoyable. My friends salad (The Omega $11.50 w/out shrimp) looked pretty, but it was more relish like. We both added shrimp for $7.00 and it was overcooked. Dropped in for lunch and to check out how things have changed from the old Treehouse. The space is very well lit with tons of natural lighting. Natural wood (pine?) floors, benches, and tables gives added brightness. Seating for couples and groups should be easy in this setting. Deco is very light with flowering cactuses and wheatgrass buckets providing accents. A small bar is located at the front of the restaurant and has a separate bar munchie menu too. Music was not too loud and we were treated to a medley of Michael Jackson. The back patio has some seating with the old tree left intact. It's a very nice space when the weather is good. So the food. Overall the the meal was good. Fresh ingredients and good dressing tossed with the salad. Sourced locally - which is a great plus! Drinks were good as well. The drawback overall is the hefty price point - if you add a protein and a drink your tab nears if not exceeds $20 a person. This places this restaurant in a once in awhile category to visit and eat and well out of the "drop in because I'm hungry and want a salad" list. I should also note that the owner was there during the launch week (I went twice), but it was disappointing that she did not make an effort to welcome the patrons and thank them for their business. Honestly this is my favorite restaurant in Austin because I absolutely love the fresh, delicious food and sitting outside under the ginormous live oak tree. The service is also excellent and friendly. I usually order the Kale Caesar and a protein from the selections offered: salmon, chicken, etc. it has anchovies in the dressing which I love. I've also had the roasted vegetable sandwich which is excellent. They do have an indoor dining room and a nice bar if sitting outside isn't your thing. But the tree! And the food. I love the food and seating inside and out! It is very good and lots to chose from. My ONLY negative comment is that they need to do something about the flies inside the restaurant. Every time I have been regardless of the time of day or month, there are tons of flies. It does not seem to bother the staff. I eat out a lot in Austin and many places and I don't see this issue with indoor places. It's just odd. Over the past 5 years this place has drastically gone down hill. As is true for most Austin restaurants, they start out with a lot of hipster hype and slowly dwindle on quality, cleanliness and service. The servers in torn up cut off jeans and oversized worn out tee shirts is getting really old. Looking filthy and unkept is not what I'm looking for in someone serving food I'm to eat. As for the food, when an item needs to be sent back twice, that's a kitchen staff issue. Quality is really important for the viability of a business. read more
