I've been bringing my cars to Vinam since 2010 and he's been my go-to mechanic ever since. He previously worked at a dealership before opening his own shop, and it definitely shows in the quality of his work. He's worked on my Lexus SC300, my parents' Nissan Frontier since they bought it new, and my brother's Camry. I even bring my new Honda Civic Sport Touring to him all the way from Vegas. His shop isn't the fanciest,, but what matters is that he's honest, experienced, does solid work, and is reasonably priced. He knows Honda, Toyota, Lexus, and Nissan very well. Anh Tho is the owner and my dad used to take our cars here because of Anh Tho's dad. Now Anh Tho took over and it's still just as good if not better as before. I wish he has a huge auto shop somewhere. But he is a simple, honest, and such a great guy and I think he handles all business himself with his partner so I think if they have a bigger place it would be more complicated. Anh Tho and his partner have been taking care of our cars for more than 10 years. I feel so fortunate that we've found an honest repair shop to work with. His work is quality; turnaround time is fast (depending on what service you need too of course); price is fair and most importantly, he never upsells you on service you don't need! I don't have to ever worry about servicing my cars because he has never suggested me any unnecessary service or quoted me a ridiculous amount. If an issue was so small (like a missing/loose bolt somewhere or something needs tightening etc) he would even fix it for me real quick free of charge! Anh Tho is the type that if he sees something is *truly* off and *needs* immediate repair, he'll let you know. But if it can wait, he'll just make you aware. Bought all the parts and have Tho serviced my GS430 : - timing belt & water pump - brake fluid flush - spark plugs - rear differential - exhaust heat shield installed Drove from Diamond Bar and dropped at 8.30am and picked up at 7pm. He charged me so little that i can't even believe. All other shop quote just for the timing belt & water pump labor itself at least $600. But Vinam.....so low, way too low. A good and honest mechanic has always been hard for me to find. You want someone dependable, honest, and changes a fair rate. I have always been into cars since I was young and have never been able to find a good mechanic until I found Vinam 5 years ago. Ever since I went here, I have not gone any where else. Tho is not only a Great and Honest mechanic, but his prices are more then fair. I would honestly say that I get more value and service then what he charges. One example of this awesome service is when I took my sister's car to get her brakes done. After a few days, my sister began to hear a weird noise from her brakes. I would say it's white noise since I didn't hear anything, but none the less, I took back to Tho for him to look at it. He called me back later that day and said that he couldn't hear any sound during his test drive, but to be sure, he uninstalled and re-installed the brakes at no charge! This is just the type of person and shop he is. If I could give more stars, I definitely would. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone that has cars he can service! read more

My 08 GS350 just hit 120k and the acceleration was feeling pretty sluggish; carbon buildup is pretty common on these cars. I figured it was a good a time as any to get some maintenance in. Had my differential, brakes and transmission fluids drained/filled and spark plugs replaced. I definitely recommend calling in ahead to make an appointment or at least give him a heads up before coming as they can get pretty busy. Tho and company were working on at least 2 other cars, but were able to get my services in as promised. Brought my car in at 9:00 AM and everything was completed by 3:00 PM. Stay away from this place. Following the good reviews, I brought my car for an oil change here this Morning (09/01/2018). They ruined my Toyota engine oil nut and broke the engine oil measuring stick. When you bring a car to a place to fix, money is a second but the employee skills. At this place, they have no basic skills to fix a car and they have no responsibility when they have made mistake. I was delighted to find out how cheap his quote was compared to other nearby auto repair shops (beware my friends as I have lived up and down the coast of CA from SF to SD and the bad reputation for cheap auto repair shops does exist!!) . In this case, however, you get more than you pay for! I first went to this repair shop about 11 years ago, and it was okay, but after reading the reviews I decided to go back. Folks, you will not find a mechanic honest like Thor from Vinam Auto Repair. One of my employees referred me to him and this guy is amazing. He is the "honest guy in the repair business I know". I one time take my car for alignment and I was told the low arm controller are broken and moving and need to replace right away. They could not do the alignment on my car. They quote me $495 for replacing both low arm controller for my 2006 corolla. I decided not to fix it. The next day I call Vinam auto Repair and I bring my 2006 corolla for Thor to check the low arm controller he said nothing wrong with it. The rubber wear out and it move when push but that is normal for every car. Nothing needs to be replaced. I take my car back to another alignment shop and they performance the alignment for me with no problem. Vinam Auto Repair Save me $495. You will be hard pressed to find a harder working and honest mechanic anywhere. I first visited Vinam Auto Repair years back when Tho's dad was still working here. I bent up my exhaust backing up into a wall and was looking for somewhere affordable to get this fixed. I made the rounds and everywhere they wanted me to replace the muffler for like $200. Then I decided to try Vinam because I remembered a buddy of mine fixed his car here. By the time I arrived it was just past 7pm and getting dark. Tho's dad reset the loose muffler and bent the exhaust back into shape, working past 8pm and night out. And did it for $50. I was extremely impressed with his work ethic and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree because Tho continues this excellence in every regard. Prices here are cheap and I never haggle because I want him to stay around as long as possible, besides that he has simply discounted the price for me on more than one occasion because it may have taken longer than expected or the original fix was later deemed unnecessary.
