Nam will tell you what needs fixing and what can wait or where to go if he doesn't do that particular service. Went in for an oil change and the entire trip took less than an hour even with 1 client ahead of me when I pulled in. Keep in mind, the shop is a very small place and it does get busy, so be sure to call ahead of time to make sure Nam is free to take you in. If he's busy or has too many clients at the moment, he will give you a different time frame or day so you're not stuck waiting there. read more

Nicest folks ever. Very honest and reliable car mechanics. They know how to fix any car issue you have. I go to them for all my oil changes because I arrive at 550pm and they'll still do my oil change!! So awesome!! $25 oil change with filter. What a deal! They'll also recommend what you need done to your car also if you want. They speak great English and are just amazing guys. Keep in mind, they're always swamped on Saturdays so you'll wanna have an appointment if you need something big repaired. Oil change is anytime though. Also, the black plastic underneath my wife's car was coming apart and kept touching the road whenever there was a steep dip. These guys found a piece of plastic screw to put it back up. Charged me $0. Awesome guys. Seriously they're so awesome. 5/5 for service, and reliability. The guy is also an engineer and holds a degree from cal state Fullerton in engineering. He's a genius. I took my daughter's car into Ford for an inspection because whenever you turned her steering wheel it knocked, and Ford said that she needed a $1,600 steering gear replacement. I then had Big-O Tires give me an estimate since they were putting tires on her car and said they could do the work. They quoted me a $1,250 steering replacement. I then took it to Hallelujah Auto, and they said that it needed a $1,000 steering gear replacement. My daughter is in college and so is my son, and I didn't have that kind of money and wasn't sure how to pay for it. My wife then recommended that I keep looking, so I found Nam Auto Repair and left my daughter's car with him. He accurately diagnosed it as a joint-bolt issue and not the steering gear and fixed it completely. Total cost, $300. Whew! What a relief. I didn't know what I was going to do, and the accurate diagnosis helped me have the money to pay for my taxes. Thank's so much Nam Auto Repair. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Great work. read more

Saved me hundreds for the spark plug replacement that another shop quoted me. Small shop but very busy as others have said (The waiting area is just a couple of chairs by the wall on the right and behind the car garage). Don't expect to be spoken to right away. This is a two person shop. One does the small jobs while the other, Khoa, is the real mechanic. That said, there seems to be a supply issue with whomever he uses to supply his parts (or maybe it's a supply issue in general). The boots needed were out of stock while he was fixing my car. He had to MacGyver the old and torn boots back on since he was closing soon. I had to go to O'Reilly which luckily did have the parts -- all the while the car was scarily shaking. Anyway, the next day, the boots were replaced and everything works. Khoa is actually incredible kind and what he charges is beyond reasonable. Maybe buy quality spark plugs and boots ahead of time to have him install it instead of waiting to get it from his supplier. The boots don't need to be replaced at the same frequency as the spark plugs but if it's been awhile, better to just have it on hand in case it needs replacing at the same. They're not really expensive and it'll save you a ton of headaches. Your mileage may vary, literally. read more

This guy is the nicest gentleman. I came here the first time because i thought my radiator needed flushing. He looked at my car and said the radiator was broken. I told him its an easy fix and my brother could do it. He didnt charge me anything for looking at my car. Second time around (since i had such a nice experience the first time) i returned to nam's to get my oil leak fixed. He kept me up to date on my car and gave me my options on what to do. My auto repair experience was NAM-tastic! Nam is an excellent mechanic in addition to being a calm, friendly and considerate person. His work on my vehicle allowed it to pass my DMV smog test. I will be back for a separate issue very soon. His prices are reasonable, too. Go Nam! Oops! Fast forward to June after Nam serviced my radiator and flushed the cooling system. That work lead to an upper radiator hose leak, after he told me that he had pressure-checked it, while I was in the Mojave Desert. The delay cost me $300.00 and many hours of waiting.
