We called yesterday to special order a dozen gluten-free doughnuts with such scrumptious descriptions (chocolate salted caramel, Samoa, berry cheese whip...) that I may have preemptively begun drooling. *wipes corner of mouth* When we picked up the order, this morning, everything was packaged and waiting on US, not the other way around. The staff were both welcoming and polite. We were in and out the door with an armful of doughnuts in moments. It took us 7 -painfully slow- minutes to get back home, wherein we divvied up the spread and REJOICED in the flavors, texture, moisture - oh my! Highly recommend you give this establishment a try if you have a hankering for the sassy sister of the bagel. Bonus points for being gluten-intolerant friendly. On a recent business trip to St. Louis, the first time working in the office with my teammates since January 2020, our manager celebrated the day before I flew out of St. Louis by picking up a baker's dozen doughnuts from Vincent Van Doughnut. I remember seeing this shop the last time I was in St. Louis back in 2020 and wanted to grab a doughnut from here but the timing never worked out and, honestly, I didn't think it ever would. The flavors here are incredible and diverse and I was shocked by how ginormous these doughnuts are! I'm from Buffalo, NY and there's a local doughnut shop called Paula's that fries up huge doughnuts, but I have to say, Vincent Van Doughnut's doughnuts are just as big, if not a little bigger, than Paula's, which is just crazy for me to say. I managed to try about four flavors: Long John, French Toast, Cookies and Cream, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Crumble. My favorite candy bar is Hershey's Cookies 'n' Cream, so by default, the Cookies and Cream doughnut was my favorite! Everything about this doughnut was above and beyond - The chocolate streusel and cheesecake were soft and delicious and the ganache was excellent. I couldn't believe how creamy and soft this was, while being incredibly big and dense. The Long John was great and the chocolate frosting on top was still warm, adding a little soft, creaminess on top. The French Toast doughnut was unique - I enjoyed the maple and cinnamon glaze on top, the pecans and walnuts added a crunch that I wasn't expecting. The last doughnut I had, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Crumble, was truly decadent - very much a chocolate chip cookie in doughnut form. As I stated earlier, the size of these doughnuts was crazy big - after one doughnut, I was stuffed! I'm so happy I finally got to have a doughnut from Vincent Van Doughnut! The issue now is trying to figure out how to loop in stopping here on my way into the office the next time I'm in St. Louis. read more

As a self-proclaimed donut expert for decades I can without hesitation that eating a VVD donut is deliciousness in every bite! From specialty flavor(maple bacon, french toast crumble, and blue or strawberry cream cheese) to scrumptious cake or glazed simplicity donuts your last bite will undoubtedly end with the thought... So the vibe of this place is great - friendly, warm, welcoming staff. It made my morning to meet such nice people. Lots of donut options, both yeast (raised) and cake. Very neat flavors and donuts are pretty big and very nice looking. Also pretty expensive, though. I thought the donuts were good but not my favorite. They were very sweet, toppings were good. I found the bases a little lacking - the yeast base was a lot more dense than typical, very heavy. The cake base was a bit dry and crumbly. There's no doubt you can taste the difference in these donuts vs most other places . The chewiness, the great flavors, and care put into each donut 100% validates the the extra cost to eat here. Went here to try a different kind of doughnut and that is what you will get. I didn't care for it and won't be back. It is too cakey and the bread overpowers the toppings. The staff is way too pushy asking me six questions back to back when there was no one else in line. Really. Not everyone has an idea of what they want and like to take their time without being pressured. Really the whole experience was terrible because they wouldn't let me think. Do you want a drink? These are the best doughnuts I've ever had. Seriously. Word to the wise - go early, they sell out quickly. They also have coffee which is great too, but the real starts are the doughnuts. We have gone to Vincent van at a number of times over the years whenever we are in St. Louis. The quality of the donuts has gone down the past couple of times we visited. We were just there on Saturday and I got two cake donuts, which were rockhard my husband got a yeast doughnut which he said was also pretty dry. We also ordered the quiche and asked for bacon, but received the spinach. Given our last couple of visits, I probably will not go back the next time we are in St. Louis.
