They also gave us a free regular donut since we said it was our first time visiting! The sandwich is the epitome of sometimes keeping it simple is best. Fortunately or unfortunately, this place is right around the corner from our daughter's home. This makes it a must-stop every visit. The staff are always friendly and not bothered at all at the sometimes long lines that go out the door. Their donuts are amazing. It's true... these pies are damn fine. we visited over the weekend and tried allll the things- sweet corn jalapeño hand pies, biscuit and gravy hand pie and a variety of donuts like buttermilk brown butter (cake), blueberry and more. All were so delicious. Go for the variety and sample your way through the menu! The staff was very friendly and their bathroom is well decorated and equipped (very ideal for families - sunscreen, etc). Very sweet touch. They have a handful of tables with shade on the sidewalk. I finally tried Damn Fine Hand Pies after my neighbor recommended it for breakfast. I came by during brunch time and couldn't decide between sweet and savory.
