I attended a private dinner party at Vincent's where we received outstanding service and unforgettable food. Our tables were decorated with gorgeous, fresh white flowers and we had a room that acoustically made it possible for us to enjoy conversation. As stated in other reviews, the croissants are amazing! Light and buttery--just as they should be. I had the scallops for an appetizer and they were delicious! They were coated with perfectly crunchy and a bit sweet macadamia crust. My husband's mushroom ravioli was also delicious. It is definitely for those who like mushrooms (and not for those who don't) and it nicely merges cream into the dish. The presentation of the crab, avocado, and celery root salad was gorgeous and the flavors melded perfectly with the texture of a smooth avocado flourish. I was not terribly impressed with my halibut, but I'm not much of a fish-eater and there were no vegetarian options on the prix fixe menu. The fish seemed to be cooked perfectly and its presentation over noodles was visually appealing, but the noodles seemed to lack flavor. Dessert was beyond belief! I've been Vincent's more casual restaurant the Market Bistro on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. I never got around to trying Vincent's, but have been meaning to for a while. It was my birthday and I was looking for nice place to get take-out due to Covid. Vincent's made the takeout experience so easy. You can order and pay online and choose which time you want to pick it up. We drove up to the restaurant and our food was on a table outside and the girl who gave it to us was wearing a mask and gloves. We chose the brie in phyllo, cold lobster bisque, arctic char, steak frites, gratin dauphinois, a bottle of merlot and lime blueberry cake. All of it was flavorful and very rich, the steak was cooked perfectly at medium rare. I love how they give you the most delicious complimentary croissants and chocolate cake too. read more

Vincent's is a fairly classical french restaurant on the eastern part of the Camelback corridor. The interior reminds me of a remodeled house. Classic white tablecloth kind of place. I have been here twice. The menu is extremely limited and changes constantly. The food is really, really tasty and well prepared. My two main gripes is that none of the dishes are horribly creative and the portions are on the smaller side. That aside, I do really like this place. It's probably more of a 3.5 star for me, but the food is good enough to round up. I can appreciate a traditional menu, but if you come here very hungry, you may leave hungry. read more

We relocated to Phoenix this past April & are remodeling. This has been such a stressful time & dining out has been a special treat. My guy kept promising me we would go to Vincent's every time we drove by. I finally made him take me. It was great! It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be since it was a Saturday but it was during the summer which I discovered is the quieter time. Good for us because we were able to get a great table on short notice. We usually don't drink white but we had a great French Chablis Chardonnay that was really good. Some of the standouts from the Tour de France tasting menu; Saucisson Chaud Sausage/fingerling potato's with a Beurre Blanc, the Anaheim pepper w/ lobster, mushroom & feta (out of this world). The main courses were duo of Lemon Dole & Halibut w/ Quinoa & snap peas in a white sauce, & Veal tenderloin w/ vegetables in burgundy. The desserts were fig tart with Calvados ice cream & Flourless chocolate cake with Utah drunken cherries. (I found this humorous since I don't usually associate Utah with drunks) :) Every bite was divine & now I know what all the fuss is about! We really enjoyed the ambiance & meal. Our server was nice & personable but forgot our salad course. He did send it home with us at no charge. The other little hiccup was asking what wine we wanted without asking if we'd like a cocktail. I get it, I'm in Phoenix, but there's a definite mismatch between the menu and the decor. It has the vibe of Rosa Mexicano, not a kind-of-French restaurant. The decor is not the only outdate thing. If you have nostalgia for a dinner cart -- they rolled out my two plates on a cart -- you're in luck! I started with the Anaheim Chile stuffed with wild mushrooms, lobster, and goat cheese. They were the star of tue meal and the only reason I'm giving this restaurant three stars. I had the heirloom tomatoes with burrata cheese, arugula and beets with my dinner entree. The tomatoes and cheese were cold, like they just came out of the refrigerator. The salad would have benefitted from a warm rest and a bit more salt. I had the Beef Wellington with potatoes. The cut was a bit tough --. I'd be surprised if it were a USAD Prime cut. I found the pastry oily and the spinach needed more dressing. Gordon Ramsay's reputation as the "king of Beef Wellington" is safe. I ended with the soufflé with a Grand Marnier demi glacé. The "crust" was rubbery. Umm, is that how it's supposed to be prepared? Vincent's on Camelback seems out of place in its neighborhood. The restaurant had a lot of stone walls and large wooden doors that made us feel like we were in a medieval castle in the middle of the desert. Ambience aside, I wasn't really fond of the food. It wasn't quite French and it wasn't quite good enough to make it worth the trip from the office. The entrees were decent but the appetizers and dessert were disappointing. We came for work and had a private room off to the side, which was nice. There weren't too many other people dining on a Tuesday night that I could see. We started with appetizers - I don't really know what happened, but I guess since we were a group, we ended up with individual servings of various appetizers. I ended up with the vegetarian stuff: stuffed pepper, salad, and potato pancake. It just wasn't that good so I skipped it. For the entree, I had the duck, which was tender and fell off the bone nicely. Others also enjoyed their entrees, such as the quinoa, rack of lamb, and white fish special. For dessert, we ordered various soufflés and they brought some flourless chocolate cakes from the chef. We didn't end up finishing dessert because the cakes weren't very chocolately and the soufflés just tasted overwhelmingly eggy. Mine had areas which had the consistency of poached egg white, which wasn't quite right. Luckily we were full already, but dessert was definitely disappointing. It seems like the food here is hit or miss - I did like my duck. I just don't have the patience to find the menu items which are good. Service was pretty good, given how large our group was, but I definitely wouldn't choose to come back unless it was grudgingly for a work event. read more

We came here on Saturday evening with a last minute reservation. We were seated promptly, although without menus which was a little odd. After about 5 minutes we were brought menus and then everything went smoothly. I ordered a Bordeaux which was brought out very quickly. Our server was frIendly and very professional. She told us about the specials- and they had my favorIte butternut squash soup as an appy so I ordered that. Delicious!! My dinner mates had a special salad which they said tasted great. Our dinners were excellent. I had perfectly breaded scallops that came with a scrumptious sauce. Our server heard us mention that it was one of my dinner mates birthdays and they added a candle and a cookie to our dessert. They also brought us individual desserts to help her celebrate. Odd place, 2 restaurants in one. We tried Vincent's on Camelback, not the bistro. This restaurant is a dine dining experience. Duck confit and beef Wellington were phenomenal in taste and presentation. Everything is made to order, so it takes time, about 2 and a half hours from appetizer to desert. Very limited menu. However bistro has larger menu and I believe it is a shared kitchen. I would go back but try the bistro for more options and save a lot of money. read more

As he described each of the specials down to each last fine detail, my mouth was watering and each one sounded better than the next! He was terrific the whole night, very personable and took the best care of us. The meal was incredible. Every dish was done perfect, served beautifully and tasted amazing! Our table entree's were the rack of lamb, elk, scallops, lobster with house made pasta, and dover sole. Each plate was adorned with delicate baby vegetables that were artistically positioned and delish. I had the elk and it was tender and succulent. We went all out for desserts and tried their lemon crepe soufflé, tequila soufflé, three chocolate chess cake, medley of brûlée. You need to come early for their Saturday brunch. Parking is 5 dollars next door. These is a farmers markets and a number of stalls serving items from crepes to lobster to omelette and paella. You may bike here along the canal and sit under a canopy and sip a mimosa but seating is limited. Pricey but a real pleasure! Each course was incredible including the veal main entree. This is a classic Scottsdale setting that is very intimate with the old standard of classiness and amazing service tied into one meal. Came here about 17 years ago and finally returned as I recall this being my first ever experience at a gourmet restaurant. 17 years ago, this was the best culinary experience of my life. 38 countries and over 800 cities later, things are in perspective. The food is a solid 4 stars. For the price, the food should be 6 stars. The average entree is priced at $40, with the nightly special priced at $58. Some of the best restaurants in Chicago are not this expensive. One note on the food, it is very good, and for this type of gourmet, they serve MASSIVE portions. Maybe that explains the price. Had a very good fume Blanc for the wine. My appetizer was a delicious radiccio salad. The main was a halibut with couscous. All was delicious. But for the quality, the menu was overpriced. We were seated to the right in a table with candles and roses on the table. Throughout the experience, our dining host shared tid bits about the local produce, how they prepare the dishes, and an overall knowledge of the menu. He mentioned that he has worked with Vincent for 23 years- and trust me, it shows! We started with drinks which I enjoyed champagne with st Germaine. Others in my group had gin & tonics and a Jack & diet. Starters: Salmon quesadilla- yum and good for a group Froi gras- did not try Smoked salmon & crab salad- love the endive and nectarine! Tomato gazpacho Lobster, corn, & avocado salad- looked absolutely fabulous. Entrees: Veal Lamb (2) Maine Lobster (me- outstanding!) Dessert: Flourless chocolate cake (not on menu) Apple tarte- with a happy birthday & candle for our guest of honor. Decor could use an update. My food was good, my wife's not so much. When I received the check, I noticed they had charged me $56 for 1 order of foie gras, which should have been $28. When I questioned the waitress, she took the check back, adjusted the price back to $28, and attributed the error to getting use to the new computer system. When I picked up my car from the valet, I gave him my last $3 singles as a tip, which I thought was fair. He then informs me that it's $5 to valet, even though there is no sign stating that, or other option. I thought that was a bit petty. It is easy for me to overlook the dated decor that reminds me of old steak houses the service was so exceptional and the food was dependable to up to masterful . Our knowledgeable waiter explained most of the menu and gave detail to where meats were sourced from . We started with the corn ravioli's with truffle oil , the flavors went together well and it was a nice size portion for two to start with. We both thought the salad of radicchio , endive , walnuts , pears , and gorgonzola was a perfect balance of taste and texture in a generous portion for two to share . My husband had the wild boar loin that came with a very rich sauce to balance the extremely lean meat . He said the sauce was a little spicy , beefy rich and well made the flavors went nicely with the addition of mushrooms . The wild boar plate also came with buttery mashed potatoes and buttery fresh vegetables . I had the Scottish Salmon that was seared on the top but prepared almost medium well . The Salmon came with a red pepper lightly creamed sauce and haricot verts , asparagus , sugar snap peas and eggplant . The vegetables were all cooked perfect and were buttery . Chopped raw tomatoes on top cut the richness . We shared huckleberry tart for dessert it had pastry cream and less huckleberries than I was expecting but it was good , soon we were ready for the check but they bring us out these tiny BAKED chocolate mousse that tasted light as chocolate air . Fact: young people eating dinner with family has a greater impact on school performance than school attendance. About the meal; Vegetable soup: very hearty, lots of veggies, squash, corn, carrots, potatoes, broth could have been richer. Chicken was very moist and tender, potatoes au gratin had great flavor profile, but lacked caramelization, vegetables were crisp and delicious, béarnaise sauce was just the right amount, and tasted amazing. French-style apple tart, with house-made vanilla ice cream, and vanilla and raspberry sauces. Chef Vincent Guerithault came out to the dining room and addressed us, which was a wonderful experience. We tried Vincent's for Restaurant Week. When you walk in to Vincents there is a bar lobby, since my date hadn't arrived yet, I ordered a yummy lemony gin martini. D arrived after about 2 minutes and we were seated at our table. When our waiter brought our Restaurant Week menu's I already knew what I was ordering since I'd checked out the menu online. I had black bean soup with goat cheese as my first course, Lobster with House Made Basil Pasta as my second course and coconut cream pie with rum raisin ice cream for dessert. My waiter suggested a chardonnay to pair with the lobster so I did that. D ordered shrimp chimichanga for the first course, New York Strip for second course and Chocolate Profiteroles for the third course. The food was delicious. I liked it because I felt since the portions were small I wasn't ruining my weight loss efforts. it seriously was only about 3 bites in that entire lobster tail and maybe 3 bites in the vegetables and you know what? I was fine with that. I felt the service was impeccable. There was about 3 servers checking us but they never seemed intrusive, they were very intuitive about when we needed something. My dessert was delicious and I had it with some yummy coffee. I didn't think this place was as horrible as the reviews are saying. Maybe my expectations were not very high to begin with. read more

We only get to Phoenix once a year, and even though we love trying new places, because we had such a great experience last year, we had to come back! The special salad with fresh peaches, beets, heirloom tomatoes and burrata with a citrus vinaigrette was worth the trip. Simply outstanding. As a pescatarian, sometimes it's hard to get a hearty meal. The macadamia crusted scallops were cooked to perfection, and the sauces and gratin potatoes hit all the right comfort food notes. This is a hit and miss place. I had a lobster crabcake like app which was pretty good but it came with some bitter arugula. If it's on the plate I will eat it. I know it's not required to have a piece of lobster in your lobster bisque but I kind of expect it. Not here. The main course was good but the dessert was a hot mess. Literally. I had the profiteroles which for some reason was soaked in a chocolate sauce. They did give us some free flourless chocolate cake which was actually the best thing of the night. Service is pretty good if you can get past the "please wait in the lounge" which is really some cigar room waiting area kind of place. My favorite Phoenix restaurant. Vincent understands customer loyalty and his hospitality and food will bring you back again and again. Often when we travel, my husband and I will remark that Vincent has spoiled us because we compare everything to eating with him. If you like goose or duck, he makes it the best. My son loves the short ribs, my daughter loves the ravioli. We all love his pastries and desserts.
