Finally a place in Morgan Hill where you can have a nice quiet dinner with prompt and attentive service without feeling crowded and packed in, table to table. The menu is varied, the food was excellently prepared and the Wine list is complete and honestly priced. Corkage was only $20 which was much appreciated. Had the prawn and chicken piccata, which was excellent, and my wife had the lamb shank, which was outstanding. I know that these are difficult times in the restaurant business, but these folks really deserve kudos for the job they're doing and I sincerely hope that they flourish. read more

Came in this morning to finally give Betto's a try. I ordered the chilequiles with scrambled eggs. I was starving and looking forward to my Sunday brunch. Upon arrival, I immediately start eating. The white Oaxacan cheese tasted funny but I kept eating anyway. Then after about four bites, l looked down and noticed a blue mold on one of the cheese particles. I stopped eating and waited for the waitress to come by. She was busy which was okay so I waited a bit until I called her over. I told her there was mold on my cheese, her response was and I quote, "oh okay, looks like bleu cheese. They probably let used Bleu cheese. I'll send this back and tell the manager to come by". No apology, no I'm sorry can I get you anything else? Nothing of that nature. Let me be perfectly clear here, it's chilequiles. There's no way a cook confused the two. I wasn't falling for that nonsense. How would only one piece have the blue hue to it too? And the worst part is I LOVE bleu cheese. Like absolutely love it, so to lie to my face and tell me that's what it was. Ridiculous. Manager never came, she ended up bringing the check and took off plate as a courtesy she said, well yea I didn't eat it so why wouldn't you. And the proceeded to tell me they used the wrong cheese so that's why. Guess I made it all up then huh? Wow. Not the best angle Betto's. Been living in MH more than 10 years, now I won't be eating here nor recommending it to my fam/friends. read more

I just can't say enough GOOD things about Betto's. We were lucky enough to have dinner there last night and it was delicious. We started with the blue cheese fondue with green apple slices and crostini. Plus they bring you warm bread with butter. We had a Manhattan and a Gimlet, Leo is a superb bartender. I had the beef short rib with mashed potatoes and spinach and it was an enormous portion as well as being so scrumptious. My husband had the spaghetti bolognese with a meatball & sausage. It was divine. In addition to great food, the service is on point. Leo and Maria are so kind and friendly but super attentive and professional. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here for lunch or dinner! read more

Went to Betto's for brunch this past Saturday afternoon. Betto's located in the growing downtown Morgan Hill area. We arrived just before the lunch rush. They have so many good choices on their menu, but I decided to get the Chicken and Waffles Benedict. This was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It had a great crunch and juicy in the middle. It came with two sides, so I got Chicken Apple Sausage and tomatoes. As you can see from my picture of what I ordered, the portions here are huge. Even though it was a huge portion, I still did not feel overstuffed because they cook their food with high quality of ingredients. The service the very good and this restaurant is perfect for a brunch or even a date night. I will definitely be back when I am in the Morgan Hill area. read more

The restaurant was very clean and welcoming when we tried it for the first time. The food and drinks were very delicious and we enjoyed our dinner. The waiter always made sure to come by our table as well to check on us. The drinks were so good!! Not pictured is the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita which was so delicious!! Amazing food, and better service especially for just one server. The restaurant was full and we still caught efficient and genuine service. Our server recommended a few items and we tried them. They were absolutely delicious. My mom told me that two brothers bought this restaurant and our cooking back there, and I just wanna give my total pot to the chefs. The food was completely fresh, everything was served hot and it was absolutely delicious. I had the calamari for an appetizer and then I had a Shirley Temple. I also had a water and the water. It was really good, which is hard to come by sometimes. And then I had the lobster and shrimp Mafalda, it was really good. It's very quaint, and not as modern as a typical restaurant, which makes it feel a little bit more at home. It seems that there is a lot of love that goes into this food. 10/10 will be back again! read more

Not disappointed! My husband had chicken parmesan and I had the New York steak. 5+ for both - they were cooked excellently and the vegetables were phenomenal. Yummy warm bread and butter. bread (coffee fresh & tasy) . If you want atmosphere, this is a great place, and you get great service. It's been awhile since I've been to Betto's and things have changed for the worse. We use to go every other week and once in awhile I would order the crab cakes appetizers which I always enjoyed. Well today I ordered them but the price increased to 25 dollars and they were always under 20 dollars and the crab cakes usually comes with a bed of greens. The greens were few and crab cakes didn't have a taste at all, very very disappointing. The crab cakes were slightly bigger than a quarter, not worth the money. They use to give a couple of slices of Italian bread and not anymore, the server said you would have to pay for a side bread. I partake in many of the downtown restaurants and all give bread for the table. My wife got her favorite sandwich with steak fries and she couldn't eat some of the meat because it was squishy which deli meat is not supposed to have. Just a very disappointing experience from what "was" a good restaurant. Service was mediocre nothing special. read more

This place was super hit or miss for us. We ordered what the menu called fresh squeezed orange juice, and unfortunately that's not what we were given. Some of the food was great (Brie French toast, scrambled eggs) other things weren't cooked right (grapefruit brûlée, brussel sprout hash) Our server was not polite and also brought us our orange juice with lipstick stains on the glass. This was my first time going here and I wouldn't want to go back. It's unfortunate because the menu is amazing. read more

We haven't been here since it opened, which has been a while! I was pleasantly surprised that the menu changed and it turned out good. We were seated quickly and there wasn't a long wait to get service. It was a little busy in the restaurant but it's not large so that is to be expected at times. The food was cooked nicely and we enjoyed it all! The only issue was it's more on the pricier side which seems to becoming more and more common. read more

This place used to be our hangout.. wed go there twice a month for the great happy hour drinks and food... drinks are still good, but service is now horrible... we waited 45 minutes for chicken that never arrived... and no apologies either!!! There are 3 waitstaff serving 40 guests.. and of course service slips, waitstaff become over stretched and take it out on the customers...., we all left upset and unhappy...we're never going back there again! read more

The first thing I need to mention is the menu. Everything on it sounded so wonderful. It was hard to make a decision. My sister had been to this restaurant many times and said that it has always been great. Our server was very attentive - she was there when we needed her, but didn't intrude. When the food arrived, it was hot and fresh. Everybody in our party was happy with their meals. The blue cheese fondue was a must, and we have decided that we are each going to order our own next time rather than share haha The interior of the restaurant has interesting paintings and is clean. The bar area looks like a nice area to meet friends. They played quiet, jazz music that did not get on my nerves, and I look forward to going back again soon. read more

A family go-to for over 30 birthday events. First time going as a couple. 8:15 pm on a Thursday and no other guests. Server was attentive and food had flavor. Ordered the eggplant parm. We were searching for a place to have brunch on Sunday and after driving by we chose Betto's. The 3.5 stars didn't say us after seeing the food photos and we weren't disappointed! The service was a little slow but it was a Sunday on a holiday weekend and lots of places were closed so we were thankful regardless of the slowness. I ordered an extra spicy Bloody Maria (tequila instead of vodka) - forgot to take a photo. It was delish! Everyone at the table loved their food and we're excited to come back for dinner as the menu looks fabulous! I would recommend this restaurant based on our experience. However, she told our waitress to help us & ours came & asked. Maybe she had a bad day, but it was very noticeable. If you read my reviews, I like to talk about the positivity of my experience, but this young lady stood out in a very sweet, soft, comfortable cozy environment on a rainy Saturday night where everyone was very relaxed & enjoying themselves. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the wild-caught grilled salmon. Cooked to perfection, the salmon had a beautifully crisp exterior while remaining tender and flaky inside. The fresh, natural flavors were enhanced with just the right amount of seasoning, allowing the quality of the fish to shine through. Service was terrible. So frustrating they weren't even full or busy. Had to wait for two employees to finish their conversation before being acknowledged. Then I was seated at a random table near the kitchen and restrooms, bad sign. Food AMAZING Angry prawns and sausage was flavorful and very well seasoned with a bite to it. It was hot so it added to the heat in spice. This dish was so good I would definitely return just to have it again. It comes with garlic bread that was toasted to my liking. Other menu items looked very good too. Might have to come try their steak too. THANk YOU to the generous stranger who payed for my meal. We stopped for lunch at Betto's Bistro in Morgan Hill, CA, today and it was such a great experience. The restaurant is bright, clean, and stylish with a modern feel. Service is ass. Sat down to an early dinner,(2 people) wasn't very busy. Placed our order, and a few minutes later,, the waiter/server came back to ask what we ordered. We got some bread and water. Our food came in a timely manner, but my drink (coke) order didn't arrive. As we ate, our glasses of water went empty. There was a waitress who walked past our table a few times to visit and check on a table behind us (across the front entrance) and even sat down to chat I'm assuming they were friends. After her visit, she walked past us and looked at our table, but never checked in on us. When we were done with our meal, we sat and waited. Betto's was absolutely amazing! We showed up with a large group on a Friday night, and the friendly staff at Betto's quickly set up a table for us. (We had first tried to get into Giorgio's--no big deal that they couldn't fit us, but their staff was very rude.) The service at Betto's was exemplary. Our apps and cocktails were delightful, then came dinner. Oh my goodness, it was *chef's kiss*. We all tried different entrees, and they were all beyond delicious. Our server checked in on us throughout the meal without being intrusive. Our empty plates disappeared without us even noticing, and then came dessert. HOLY CANNOLI! The cannolis were to die for, the chocolate lava cake was an eruption of flavor, and the bread pudding tasted as if my Nonni had made it in her hot little kitchen with her own precious hands. I've been there for lunch and brunch. Both were pretty good. We thought to try it for dinner. Service was very good we got a nice quiet table by the window, but we were very disappointed with the food. First we had the calamari for appetizer, the portion was large and kind of crispy, but it was slimy on the inside. My wife ordered the New York steak which came out full grizzles and fat and cold on the inside (most likely cooked frozen on the grill). I ordered the cioppino, the sauce was tasteless like tomatoes out of the can with some oil, the mussels were so tough and chewy, skinny crab legs with no meat in them (I guess for decoration only), the prawn was also slimy and the fish? very dry even though it emerged in the sauce. I would not recommend it for dinner and would not go back again. read more

From the moment we walked in, I knew it was going to be an interesting experience. My husband and I were waiting to be greeted and seated and the staff just stared at us and we were wondering what the heck was going on. Our host and server was an older gentleman with dark hair. There was a long table of maybe 12 seats with still food and dirty plates on the table. How come this wasn't cleaned yet? Not exactly the best look for a dinner time rush at 5 pm on a Saturday. And only 1 other table occupied behind us. So we get seated with "sit wherever you want" okay lol. We went out for a fun date night and I didn't let this ruin our night but I was bothered by the attitude of our server and cleanliness of the restaurant. Last but not least, our server was fixing the wheels on a cart of something. Did not wash his hands and proceeded to expedite our food to our table. I couldn't believe it. I am not trying to be a hard ass or get anyone fired but it's a small restaurant with only 2 tables occupied. But hygiene and cleanliness is pretty important lol. Maybe the server was having a bad day? Not too sure. Or he's just always like this?? It wasn't a very welcoming environment. Food was good. The line cooks in the back did a great job on the food. We walked in and somewhat busy with 6 tables seated. Reception from server at first not attentive but I get it when only one person serving all 6 tables and then we arrive. The food was a different experience which i hope they can improve upon. The calamari appetizer as was steak cut into strips and chewy and served with ketchup instead of marinara- uh no. Also not fresh and very fishy. From my perspective 3 tables I had a Direct view did not eat it. The salad was great and nicely filling. The salmon with Alfredo pasta I asked instead of risotto was disappointing. Salmon was over cooked and the Alfredo pasta had no flavor. Not sure we will come back given the flavor of food and quality and hope they try to focus on freshness and flavor. read more

4 of us went to grab dinner at betto's bistro. It was a regrettable experience that cost us $140. I wouldn't spend more than $20 for this. We were seated quickly which was nice and we started with the fried calamari. Fried calamari: The portion was hefty (too much for a starter if you ask me and I'm a big guy. Maybe not a negative) but the fried calamari wasn't crispy at all. The best way to describe it is as if it had been sitting out for a few hours and then microwaved. I enjoy fried calamari and it's something hard to mess up which means this was probably the worst calamari I've ever had. 3.5/10 Moving on, we ordered a grilled salmon, chicken Alfredo, chicken Marsala, and a pizza. Grilled salmon: This was pretty much your standard grilled salmon. And it was not good. The salmon came out with a nice char but the interior was overcooked. You might as well chew on a tire if your fish if this chewy. My guess is that the grill they cooked this one on wasn't hot enough and the fish was left on too long. If it was hotter the char would be there and the inside would be cooked less. 2/10 for the nice char. Chicken Alfredo: Chicken Alfredo with dried tomatos. Undersalted. Under seasoned. Chicken was extremely chewy maybe even worse than the fish. I feel bad for the chicken that had to die for this. May that chicken rest in peace. 1/10 Pizza: Ordered with extra cheese and garlic for the kid. I thought this would be something that would be hard to mess up as well but lo and behold this pizza was flavorless. It's like they didn't salt it at all. Normally I could tear up a pizza but this was beyond me. Also this was drenched in grease (it was literally dripping down my arm). 2/10 Chicken Marsala: I think this was the only thing that was palatable the entire meal. The chicken breast wasn't overly cooked (still a little much) and the sauce was nice. Mushrooms were good too. Nothing that'll blow you away but not terrible. 5/10 Half way through our meal some random dude walked into the establishment and tried to sell us flowers. Mad respect for the hustle but wasn't expecting that encounter half way through my meal. Overall would not recommend. They need to change their recipes entirely. Obviously I didn't try the steak and haven't tried lunch so maybe that could redeem it but from my current experience, this is 1 star. At least the staff was nice. read more

My rating system is a possible star for: food, drinks, service, ambiance, and "other." Food: 1 star. They have a good variety of options: pastas, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts. I love their chicken pesto sandwich. The chicken is super juicy and the sandwich is slathered in sauce. Drinks: 1 star. Full bar. They've got it all and they do it well. Service: No star. We've been there 3 times now, so I can say with certainty that no matter how full or empty the restaurant is, the service is painfully slow. The server could greatly benefit from more training, especially on multi-tasking. It's so frustrating when we've been sitting there with empty plates and cups for 30 minutes and have to watch her go to one table at a time to ask them what they need, go get it, then move onto the next table. You gotta makes rounds and check on everyone. Ambiance: 1 star. Clean, cloth napkins, casual but nice. Other: No star. This is why I don't understand why the floor under my chair was covered in large chunks of food. I pushed it out of the way but it was gross. We started with the blue cheese fondue. The melted blue cheese has cream cheese and walnuts in it. It's served with toasted bread, apple slices, and salad. It was pretty good. Almost a little too hot. As with everywhere, not enough fondue for everything. We also had a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned. They weren't bad. Didn't use cocktail cherries in the old fashioned. I had the chicken Alfredo. The sauce was good but very thin. It had chicken that was a little tough and interesting wavy noodles. It was almost too busy. She had the asparagus tortellini. Not sure if that's what it was called. It had a good cream sauce and a great flavor. The meal was served with bread that wasn't cut all the way and was too hard to pull apart evenly. Also, the butter was ice cold and unusable. Overall we liked the food but cleanliness was an issue. Also, about three minutes into the appetizer the entre's came. Really? Delay it just a bit. You're not even busy. read more

Being from out of state finding a great place to dine can be a challenge. We rolled the food dice and they landed on Betto's Bistro. We're winners! We started with Calamari and it was good. It's served with two dipping sauces that are decent. Then out came the warm bread to dip in a wonderfully seasoned dipping oil.... So tasty! We ordered Betto's Shrimp Campanella Florentine. What an explosion of flavor! The shrimp, sauce, tomatoes, and spinach is topped with feta. Yep! Feta!!! Delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, which we appreciate, and service impeccable. I came to Betto's with a group of four people. We had excellent service and amazing food. The manager. Roman, was very attentive and informative about the menu and drink selections. The restaurant was very busy and full of patrons. The service was remarkable and the personal attentiveness was impressive. I believe this is usual for a Friday evening since I spoke to various diners who are regulars. Please bring your friends and family to this impressive local destination.
