I came to this establishment to celebrate my son graduating from 5th grade. I wanted a beautiful place for photo ops and to have a different scenery than the traditional restaurants. It's a short walk from the parking garage or you can do complimentary valet. The walkway has amazing decor that looks like an upscale market and outdoor seating with beautiful vintage decor and couches. When you walk in you are introduced with a bar on the left and photo ops on the Right. We walked straight to the back to the larger dining space and was seated at a long table accommodating the 12 of us which still allowed a view outside and of the entire dining space. Our server was Fabiana and she was very much comfortable and accommodating a larger party. Some places tend to have servers who get overwhelmed or their moods are testy because of having a larger party. She was not. She was pleasant and she was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and suggestions for everyone. There was an array of options eaten by my family from pasta, to lamb, to burgers, and chicken. Everyone said how delicious the flavors were, the temperature of the food, the speed of service and how enjoyable everything was. The appetizers were great for sharing as well as eating solo if you wanted that as a menu item. I personally had the hummus which was delicious and packed with flavor. Other family members had the ricotta toast which was described as light and savory. The beignets were very big and filling so that's an awesome option if you have a group dining. The children's menu was a great option for children who have difficulty eating off the regular menu. The size portions are great and the kids menu prices are even better. I would definitely recommend this place for dates, girls night out, family occasions and events and any celebration really. I can't wait to go again and try out the brunch options with my sisters. Helena Modern Riviera in Orlando is definitely one of the prettier brunch spots I've been to. The atmosphere is beautiful, the aesthetic is on point, and it's a fun place to grab brunch with friends. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the vibe. The standout for me was definitely the waffles with Nutella, syrup, and compote--they were absolutely delicious and easily the best part of the meal. I also ordered the short rib with eggs, but I was pretty disappointed. The short rib was dry, and although I ordered my eggs over easy, they came out over hard. The drinks were strong, which I appreciated, but after hearing so much about the brunch, I honestly expected a little more. There was a fun moment where they handed out beach balls and glasses during brunch, but it only lasted about 10 minutes. Overall, it's a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere, but I've definitely had better brunches in Florida. This was my second time visiting Helena Riviera on I-Drive for brunch and both visits have left me with the same takeaway. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the music is always good. Every time I come there is something different going on which makes for a genuinely fun environment. That said, the food and service do not match the price point. Gratuity is automatically included which removes the ability to tip based on the actual experience, and that experience has not been worth it for what you pay. I ordered the Branzino which was listed as tableside and priced over $40. It should not be marketed as tableside when all that happens is the fish gets brought to your table and oil is poured over it before they walk away. It was also the smallest Bronzino I have ever been served at a restaurant, plated with just asparagus on the side. For that price and for something advertised as a tableside experience, the presentation and portion should be far more elevated. My fiancé ordered the steak and eggs which was decent but nothing memorable. The brunch board was actually pretty cute and decent though and the pizza was good! It's just not a place to order their fancier more expensive dishes. I probably won't be coming back to necessarily eat... But I would absolutely come back to hang out with the girls and sip on champagne. The vibe, music and atmosphere make it a great spot for that. read more

I've been to the physical location in Winter Garden which was wonderful, but the rendition here fell flat with very little toppings. The meat in my egg and brisket dish felt quite dry, and would've been more filling if it had some toast or something along with the salad. First, let me say this is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been in for a long time. It's quite stunning. The hostess told me that they actually change the hanging decor for the different seasons. So for instance, right now it's spring so there's flowers and plants everywhere. Christmas will be Christmas decorations and so forth. The food is delicious and high-quality. The staff is really nice. And just what a beautiful backdrop for any photo you want to do for social media. I recommend coming to this place. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu. WOW! One of the best dining out experiences I've had in a long time. The arancini was yummy and we loved the house aioli (I hate mushrooms but got talked into trying these and they were still so yummy!) The potato appetizer bites were my favorite, so cheesy and perfect dipped in the marinara. I got the Pistachio Pesto Gnocchi for an entree and it was the perfect portion, perfect blend of creaminess without being too rich. I tried my friend's broccoli Rabe and it was so giant, tender, and delicious dipped in the pesto sauce - wish the gnocchi dish came with some! This was one of the BEST lavender cocktails I've had, and I've been trying a lot lately. The Italian Daydream truly is a *dream* and came with a pretty lavender sprig the 2nd time I ordered it. It has a frothy top layer and is slightly sweet without being too cloying, a little fruity, a little herbal, but truly an even blend of all components. I tried my friend's Lemon Drop cocktail and the sugar rim was a nice touch, it was an amazing creamy sweet mixture but again not over the top. Our server was so friendly and recommended a great "mystery app" for my table when we couldn't decide. We did have to ask a few times for water refills, but it was a busy gorgeous night. We enjoyed the outer patio area, and it wasn't too cold or too loud. The occasional pass by of the little train was a whimsical touch, and the decor was modern and trendy (the car is a great photo op on the way in!) I truly loved everything I tried, and I haven't said that about many places in a while. It's a small but mighty menu, and even this picky vegetarian was able to find lots to love and enjoy. It was a fun choice for my friend's birthday! The service was disappointing. The waiter did not come by often and many of us had empty water glasses for quite awhile. We came to celebrate a birthday. There was about 8 of us. Although the ambiance was a vibe, everything else was not. The majority of the table ordered either a skirt steak or a ribeye, while we split a ribeye for 2. By the time our ribeye was even heading to the table, everyone else in our group had finished their subpar dishes. Several dishes came out with the wrong sides or the wrong temp, including the ribeye for two. We asked to sub rice which the server agreed, which we did not receive either. At this point, we decided we no longer were interested in the ribeye. They did pack it up for us to take to-go but as you can see, even down to the aligots (fried cheese balls) one is completely missing the cheese. It is a restaurant with an outstanding experience. The service was great. However, I was only discouraged with the server, because I felt she was not being truthful with the size of the plates. It felt as if she was upselling by saying the plates were small. The plates were large in size, so we had leftovers. Nonetheless, all the various food options we had, were very tasteful. The family and I were happy with decision to go eat there for brunch. I highly recommend and just be aware that the plates are not small. Beautiful restaurant; average experience. I went to Helena with friends for brunch. It was crowded, but the waiter was attentive and friendly. For brunch, we had to get up and refill our own glass every time we wanted another mimosa. I was not a fan of this. It's great to not have to wait, but I'm paying gratuity and had to continuously walk through the restaurant. I ordered the hummus and brisket plate. The food was okay; the brisket was overcooked, and hash browns and eggs were standard. The hummus was better than the meal, but nothing stood out for the prices paid. Again, beautiful place to go and take pictures at, but it's not a place I'd return to. However, id recommend someone to maybe try it for dinner. Maybe it'll be better around that time. read more

How in the F do you ruin a Pretzel? If you want to find out, head down to iDrive and then to Helena Modern Riviera. This restaurant is a beautifully decorated space but with little substance beyond the delicious cocktails. The espresso martini was excellent and it came with a Lady Finger so I ordered 5 so I could make a hand! Sadly, it was the pastry version. I also had the Bee's Knees which was well crafted and one of the best versions of this cocktail. Similarly, the Havana (a cigar smoked old fashioned) was delicious and smoked table side. The cocktails were all 5 stars for sure... Foodwise, this wasn't great. First, the giant pretzel... OMG it was the absolute worst. It wasn't warm, didn't have any salt. They must be saving all the salt for the brutal Swedish winter. And the fondue was totally NOT dippable... it was basically a clump of cheese in what I would describe as a warmed up version of that water that Burrata from the ol' Publix grocer comes from. So terrible. The pistachio pesto gnocchi was properly named as it was loaded with pistachios. That probably explains the price as pistachios are like the tarnished platinum in the nut world. (and probably explains why Dubai chocolate is priced out of this world). But it lacked real flavor and was just mediocre. The garlic bread was outstanding though, so that's a plus! Service started out great but as the night went on, our waitress visited us less and less. Cocktails started taking longer and longer, water refills were non existent, and when it came time to take care of the finances, she was nowhere to be found. The biggest highlight was the belly dancer, Vanja. I am pretty sure there is only a belly dancer on Saturday evenings starting around 8:30 or so. Don't quote me on that though. She was talented and worth the trip. If you're a fan of 90 Day Fiancé, you may recognize her (as well some others from the show that happened to be dining there that night). They also had "Member" pricing on the menu which was odd. I didn't inquire about a membership here, nor would I want one. But if you come here a lot, it may be worth looking in to. Came upon this restaurant during our visit and the lovely decor drew us in. Definitely fit for a photo-op. Waitress seated us fairly quickly without us having reservations. We had the Beef Empanadas, Truffle Fries, Cheese Pizza, Pistachio Pesto Gnocchi, Butterfly Burger and Dijonnaise Chicken. The Mocking Bird and Berry Fresh mocktails were a hit with the kids as well. They did a great job with the holiday decor and created memorable photos ops but the food was a huge let down. My party and I (of 4) ordered 9 out of 14 starters. The food came out border line cold and everything tasted frozen. From the arancini to the meatballs. The meatballs were definitely the frozen ones from the store. The texture was spongy and not good. The tomatoes used for the bruschetta were over mixed and became watery. Almost to the point of mush. I wouldn't recommend eating here. It's a one and done. I celebrated one of my best friends birthday and we chose Helena to host the dinner. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! I really love that there's themes, at the time it was "The Phantom of the Opera" & it was so classy. We had a huge party and all showed up late to the reservation, (sorry!) They catered to us anyway and provided excellent service. I ordered the Creme Brûlée martini and it was delicious! I would say order it as a dessert instead but it's super nice as a starter drink if you enjoy sweets. I proceeded to eat the Truffle Fries and Caviar, which was so so so so good!!!!! I think a better choice of caviar could be used though. The real show stopper for me was the Duck Confit. This dish was glorious! I really really really enjoyed my visit and experience! We got a ton of apps for the table but only a few items were gluten free. The server was not very knowledgeable when it came to gluten allergy's and I believe was mixed up with veganism. The wine was fine and on pair with the price of other restaurants on I drive. My meal and a few other members of my parties meals came out wrong and way over cooked and over salted. The flavor reminded us of wedding catering. It did take a very long time to revive drinks as well. Overall I'd give it a 2.5-3 out of 5. This is a great place to celebrate! We came here for brunch on our bachelorette trip. We saw so many festivities being celebrated. Most were birthday celebrations. Although we could not reserve a table for 7 people online at the time we wanted, we reserved for a party of 4 and a party of 3. Once we got there they were very accommodating to us and were able to put our two reservations at one large table. Our server was super kind and gave us amazing service. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot for a girls catch up lunch /brunch! Cute photo ops with great decor including furry angel wings and halo you pass by on the way to the restroom! The atmosphere is joyful and comfortable with excellent service, plating and attentive staff! The chef visited the table a few times and made us feel so at home! We ordered the prosciutto fig pizza and savory biengets with prosciutto and fig with mozzarella . They offer an alcoholic beverage they have in a purse that you get to take home the purse shaped glass for their "Pretty in Portofino " theme. They also have a mimosa bar that is unlimited! The portions were surprisingly small, and the quality simply didn't justify the cost. I don't mind paying premium prices for an exceptional meal, but this wasn't it. In my opinion, people come here for the ambiance, not the food. The themed experience is fun, but there are plenty of restaurants that offer a great atmosphere while also delivering memorable meals. Very nice Bohemian Island decor. Feels classy and light in there. The place was pretty empty so service was kindly attentive Cocktails are presented with so much pizzazz that it's hard not to like. The Helena was good and reminded me of Christmas with it's green and red colors. Just wished it had more of the egg white froth on top The ceviche was outstanding and their homemade habanero sauce was the best accompaniment to finish off any dish to whole new top notch level! I'm back to do a quick highlight on the Portofino pop up that they have for the spring time! One thing that this place does so incredibly well is their theming. The atmosphere is always on point, starting at the walk in which really helps transport you and gives you the vibes of la dolce vita. My friend and I met up for happy hour, which by the way is from 1-6 at the bar and patio only. Our server gave us her recommendations and quickly took our orders. The food came out fairly quickly while we were enjoying our sangrias. The Malta shrimp is mouth watering and melt in your mouth good! It comes with a crispy bread that can be dipped in the garlic sauce which I definitely recommend doing. The beignets are nice and soft, and the sweetness of the bread pairs nicely with the cheese and prosciutto! My only regret of the evening is that I didn't order the seasonal purse drink that had been going viral on Instagram, however I couldn't justify spending $75 for it, even if you do get to take the purse home with you. The food, though, fell a bit short. I had the steak and eggs, but the eggs were overcooked despite asking for them scrambled soft with cheese. The steak was fine but a thin cut and not very filling for me. What stood out to me most was the heart behind the place. There's a message from the owner on the menu that really gives it a personal touch and I love their message / mission . It's a great spot for drinks and vibes for brunch, but I'd order something else when it comes to the food. From the moment we arrived, the service was terrible. We waited over 15 minutes without being greeted at all. We were close to leaving, but decided to stay since we had already gotten settled with a baby. We also had to ask three separate times for a high chair. When our server, Christopher, finally came over, he didn't even take our drink order -- he just dropped off water and disappeared again for another 15 minutes. Once we finally ordered, the drinks took another 15 minutes to come out. The food was even worse -- cold, chewy, and completely flavorless. After it was dropped off, our server never came back to check on us. We asked for a refill on my son's Coke and it was never brought. This was easily some of the worst service we've experienced. It felt like there was zero care or effort, likely because an automatic 18% gratuity is added regardless of service. I was so excited for the fries however they were soaked in oil. Our moms did enjoy their burgers. Spoke to our waitress, the manager and general manager and they gave us a few little free desserts and took off the salmon and paella (waited over an hour for it).
