I started coming here for alkaline water maybe Nov 2024 I used to have ready fresh nestle water delivery to my home but the prices had gone up alot and I did not realize I was also renting the water dispenser! I normally go to another water store, but my normal water spot changed owners and changed there hours. I needed to look for another spot. I found Vinh Hao on Yelp and decided to give them a try. When I showed up to the water store, they gave great customer service by offering to fill the water for me and help carry to the car. I only drink Alkaline water, and when I got home and started to drink the water, I noticed it had a funny smell and taste. I thought maybe my water bottle I use was dirty, so I washed my bottle and it still had a foul smell. Then the following day my kids and wife all complained about the water saying it was disgusting. So I knew it wasn't just me. I gave them 2 stars only because of the customer service. Otherwise the quality of the water was terrible. Great service but a horrible product. I have had tap water that was better. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I been buying Alkaline water for years now at this place . Is a family own business . Owner always helping everyone. You can pick regular bottle drinking water and bring your own gallons and or containers. They also sell a good variety of plastic bottles all sizes. I usually buy alkaline water. This has been the best place to go for water refills so far. The guy who helped me refills the water right away as soon as I came. They have the price tag on the store which is $1 per galons. This place is clean, friendly, and fast. I've been coming here for the past year. Most recently, I arrived 5 minutes before closing. There was only one person working at that time and luckily no one else in line. I told him I was happy I made it in time and he said it's not a problem because he usually ends up staying after closing anyways. He further explains that many times he has already shut off the machines and someone will come in and he doesn't hesitate to turn them back on for his customers. I thought that was a good indication he takes his work seriously. The water stations are ALWAYS clean, the water (alkaline and regular) always taste refreshing, and the only few times I wasn't offered to help load the jugs of water were when they have been busy. read more

Wow, they have alkaline water for $0.75 per gallon! I buy it in LA for $2-2.5 per gallon. That's definitely a plus. The guy who works there didn't know anything about water PH levels, but he said he works there only on weekends and his brother knows everything. Unfortunately they don't accept credit cards, but they'll transfer you to ATM in T-mobile store in the same plaza, and T-mobile guys will tell you there's no ATM so you should go to liquor store across the street. Very Very bad customer service : owner got mad for somebody or something and began yelling at me while i am in the row waiting for my turn to get water. It's too bad for this behavior from the owner: yelling at customer for no reason( this case is about the cart the I am using while getting in line- he blamed me for hogging the cart which i have been using in the past- simply using the store cart to carry my 20 water bottle containers to carry them to store). when entering store, i asked him why he had yelling at me for no reason, his answer was : " you do not want my service, don't you?". I just calmly replied to him that i just asked you the main reason why!!!". he ended this conversation by letting me filled all my 20 gallons of water by myself without any help from him. I am a long term customer for this store( at least 10 years). Too bad he just lost a customer. I did not even forget to thank him for his business. read more

Do not trust these guys. I have been drinking filtered water for years . I just moved to area from ob so now I go in there and ask questions about filter replacement and dates and test results which all should be posted on board . And he got mad at me and said of coarse we put dates on our filter. This info should be posted on board in the store . No wonder the water is cheap . You can get it out of your hose . read more

OMG, I'm so glad that somebody reviewed this place already because I do not know the address. I feel like I could just build a little house right in the middle of this plaza and just live there forever. There is K's right there, Pho Pasteur, Mien Trung, Sushi Diner, the Hawaiin Joint around the corner, my tailor and of course, the all important water store. I agree with Betsy that water tastes like water...until you drink some stank, nasty tap water or some of that real thick water, or Arrowhead water (which I'm pretty sure is just bottled tap water), or that water that tastes like it has grass mixed in. Anyway, Vinh Hao specializes in not that kind of water and they do a damn good job. You can find a few of their locations around SD, but I don't know if they are actually related. The guys are always super nice and help you bring your water out for you. They are fast and very efficient. Why wait like a 'schbag at one of those stupid over priced water machines when you could get this fresh, filtered water for .25/gallon. P.S. My friends parents own a different water store and she warned me that it is important to change the filters on a regular basis, which a lot of the people who own those machines never do. So you might be paying for tap water! read more

When I used to work for a local (and pretty well established) water softening and water purification company here in San Diego I stopped by this place one day. I wanted to compare this place's water against our filtered water. I knew ours would be better, but I wanted to know by what huge margin. Well, as it turned out, according to our most experienced tech who actually builds R.O. (reverse osmosis) systems the water from Vinh Hao tested the same as ours....wow, needless to say I've been buying my water here ever since. For the quality of this water you cannot beat the price. To put it in perspective, I can buy the equivalent of 3 cases of 1 liter bottled water here for the price of a single 1 liter case of Kirkland/Costco water (including CRV). Both are treated by reverse osmosis. read more
