I can't believe it's taken me this long to check this place out. I love that the dim sum is made fresh to order so everything is nice and hot. The service was super friendly and all the dishes came out at a perfect rate. I was able to finish my first couple of orders and then my next orders would come out piping hot! I really love that it's low key in the restaurant and that it's not too crowded. I'll be back!

Overall, it is a decent dimsum. We got everything to go. They have some unusual items I've never seen elsewhere like water chestnut dessert(nice), fried shrimp tofu pocket(kinda over fried). Siomay, Jang fen, dumplings are decent. I tried shark fin dumplings..idk, just pork and shrimp I think.. I don't love the shrimp chive dumpling, the dough is bit thicker than the one I'm used too, which usually is heavy on chives I thought. Bit diff from this place. They cuttlefish is nice tender but not seasoned at all, came w sauce separately. it took a while for the food to come out. Same complex as banh mi dc,around the corner.

Childhood staple for me! They have a great dim sum but don't sleep on lunch and dinner too. Fresh lobster, dungeness crab, soft shell crab, roast duck...etc. Service is always good, dim sum time can be chaotic but I wouldn't take away from that traditional experience and environment. -SpicyAivy

Authentic, Fresh, and Family-Run: A Dim Sum Gem. True dim sum patrons know online 3 1/2 stars is the best. Because if you are looking for flashy fusion decor or a "trendy" vibe, keep driving. But if you want the kind of authenticity that speaks for itself, Vinh Kee is the place. Nothing says "legit" louder than seeing the owners' children doing homework or playing on their iPads at the table next to the counter--it's a true family-run neighborhood staple that prioritizes food over fluff. The variety here is extensive, but what truly sets them apart is the freshness. You can tell these aren't the mass-produced, frozen-then-steamed dumplings you find at many other spots. Everything we ordered felt like it was made to order in the back. Beyond the food, the service was a pleasant surprise. Even toward the end of their shift, the staff remained energetic and incredibly attentive. We never felt rushed, and our needs were met with a smile. We left very satisfied and will definitely be back. If you're in Falls Church and craving a truly authentic dim sum experience, I highly recommend Vinh Kee.

Their food is really hit or miss. I was impressed with their stir fry dishes like their chow fun and gai lan - both had excellent wok hay and was cooked to perfection and served hot. However, their dim sum dishes were quite disappointing - they claimed that their egg tarts were "baked fresh from the oven" but when I bit into it, the custard was stone cold and the pastry itself was very doughy. A lot of the other typical dim sum pastries were also doughy and were not fresh. Service was quite slow and they weren't super busy when we went in on a Sunday. We were there for almost 1.5 hours and had to constantly ask the waiter when our food was coming out. They also had a miscommunication where they forgot to bring out something and we had to remind the staff that we ordered it and then they brought out the wrong item. Overall pretty mid experience, would order some of the specific dishes again but most of them were unfortunately a miss for me. The overall environment and ambiance was pretty dingy and felt grimy in general, but don't let that stop you from enjoying some authentic Cantonese food!

A real gem in Falls Church! Tasty dim sum and friendly service! I loved the durian pastry -- reminded me of dishes I had in Hong Kong!

I love this place so much! It is the most authentic Cantonese food ( the culture as well) place in the DMV. You know it if you are Cantonese and have lived in Hong Kong or Guangdong province. They have the best 叉烧酥 and 千层糕, as well as other Cantonese dishes that you can't find in any other dim sum places. Unfortunately, I live in MD and hate to drive that far, so I do not go there super often, but I eat a lot of food and pack a lot of takeout with me when I go there.

I came here before but haven't been back for many years. To my delight they have dim sum here now so that was great. Inside looks just as I remember it with plenty of seating. Service was great and the waiter gave good knowledge of the menu. We ordered most of the traditional dim sum dishes and I enjoyed the food, it was very comparable to other places in this area. After my long hiatus I plan on coming back for dim sum now. Lastly I did notice is they had the pork buns that were baked and not in the traditional puffy bread. I prefer these since the traditional buns are just too much bread for me.

Great friendly service every time! So they can make dim sum any time if they have it at $1 extra per item it's made as you order so it'll come out nice and hot. Plenty of tables but never have a lot of people I think it's due to lack of advertisement. But definitely my go to spot for dim sum in our area. Pretty quiet in there since it's so empty.

I was skeptical to eat at first when I saw the leaky ceiling, dirty tables and floors. But never judge a book by its cover, well that saying was wrong for once with this place. The food was not great I asked if they had any gf alternatives (in Cantonese and English) they said yes but it ended up just not putting in soy sauce. Then they kept asking us to add more dishes but it was just two adults and a small child. I said we didn't need that many dishes. And with that being said they had really bad attitude. Before we were done eating g they started to clean the tables (it was on around 6:30pm) They add in the tip automatically and when you say you want to change it they say it's store policy. Please don't waste your time here.

Something is very off with the (lack of) protein quality at the Falls Church location. The head-on shrimp were smallish - some were 21-25 count, some were 26-30 count, and all had an off-putting *green* poop line. The clams were inedible and tiny. Half of the clams were missing from their shells. They shouldn't be sold. When I showed the poor quality of the clams to the server, they offered a 20% discount - clearly they don't get it. What keeps me loyal to the brand is their signature Hot N Juicy Special sauce (mod: extra garlic). No other Viet Cajun (even in Houston or wherever) comes close to the depth and complexity of the Hot N Juicy Special sauce. For now, the winning move is to order a some sausage in a cup with Hot N Juicy Special medium sauce w/extra garlic TO GO, and sautée it with a bag of defrosted Costco head-on 16-20 count shrimp, or a few dozen live Cherrystone clams from HMart. There is so much potential here. The sauce is boss. Solve your protein problem!

Also, the floor gets unreasonably greasy to walk on about halfway through the day and stays that way for the rest of the night, so tread carefully! All of the meats on the standard AYCE menu are good/great quality. This is one of the only hot pots that does not require dipping sauce (even though I always concoct one anyways) because the broth is so permeating and flavorful. Best standard lamb I've ever had. I was seriously craving Chinese food and needed wonton soup. NEEDED! Upon entering, my friend mentioned the fact the restaurant was empty wasn't a good sign and had a 3.5 rating. Well, don't let that deter you because some of the best Chinese restaurants have a 3.5 rating on Yelp (check out the numerous articles written about this topic)! I tried to persuade my friend but she opted out of ordering anything and wanted to wait to see if I liked my food first. My friend proposed that after I finished, we head next door to Sisters Thai so she could order her dinner. Well, for starters - the food came out fast and I devoured the wonton noodle soup within 10 minutes. The broth and wontons were so flavorful. Interesting choice that they used wheat noodles instead of the standard egg noodles though still loved it. I also like that the broccoli had a nice crunch. Yes, wonton soup typically has bok choy but the broccoli was great. My only regret is why haven't I tried this place sooner?!?! My friend thought I was rushing so she could eat dinner but it was just so good! It was a great portion as well. I gave her one of my wontons to try and she said "wow!!!" Once I finished vacuuming my wontons soup, we walk over to Sisters Thai, but I knew I had to try more food from District Dumplings. You would think I would have been full from the wonton noodle soup but I am a glutton. So, I ordered the pork & shrimp dumplings to go via DoorDash and picked them up as a to-go order and bought them back to Sisters Thai. I had no shame and happily took out the dumplings from the to-go container and put them on my plate. The dumplings were so unreal that they didn't even need to be dipped in soy sauce. They were good as is and flavorful! Even my friend wanted to eat the dumplings and asked for four of them. Luckily, the staff at Sisters Thai didn't make it a big deal but they probably saw that I bought outside food. I'm coming back for more District Dumplings!! I was so happy to have tried a new restaurant and kept pointing at the restaurant that this was my new favorite place. Strangers saw how happy I was and smiled (or maybe because I looked crazy). Will have to gorge myself next time in trying more of the unique dumpling flavors! Yum!!!!! +Wonton Noodle Soup-sesame oil, pork, shrimp, mushroom & wheat noodle +Pork & Shrimp Dumplings-chives, ginger & green onion

However, a self-service water station would be a great addition to this space. It was a little bit of an inconvenience to consistently go up to the counter and ask for water and water refills. Additionally, extra plastic bowls for sharing had to be requested as well. Maybe that would be good to have at the self-service station as well! Overall, the staff was friendly, but I think there are some aspects that could be incorporated to improve the customer experience. Thank you!

This place remains the mecca…read morefor dim sum - whether it's to gather with family for a meal, host an event, or even just to grab a quick bite to-go they are good for it all. The service carts come around quickly and the hosts/staff are consistently friendly. My favorite dishes are the shrimp har gow, crab claw balls, roasted duck, the shrimp stuffed eggplant, and egg tarts --probably the best egg tarts in the area. My kids love their baked pork buns to the point they can tell when I buy it from somewhere else lol. We've dined at plenty of other dim sum spots, but this remains as a consistent top contender for me. Note: the ambiance is casual but I've been to many events hosted here and it makes for a great canvas to portray beautiful decor.

We were like the food must be good lol When we got our food it was pretty cold. Which is weird cause they just opened. During our meal we hear screaming. It was 2 employees yelling at each other. My friends are Vietnamese and were saying that they were yelling about gambling money. It was pretty annoying and I could tell my friends were uncomfortable. But at the end is where it got really uncomfortable and awkward. The food and service was not good. So I tipped 15 percent. I should have tipped nothing but that's not me and I was in the service industry so i understand everyone has a day off. The, I assume manager or owner came up to the table and told me I'm required to tip 18 percent. I said where does it say that? He says on the receipt. I told him that says suggestions not required and that I could give him 0 tip. He proceeds to make a huge scene about the 2 extra bucks I need to pay. I finally cave because my friends were very very uncomfortable. As we leave my friend said the guy was a talking shit in Vietnamese to his employees about us. My recommendation is to go somewhere else. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had and all over 2 dollars that they didn't deserve. I see why they have a low yelp review.
