Vinnie's, you have a new fan! 9" sub for a $6.49 or so is a fantastic price for a quality, handmade sub. Believe it or not, I can't remember the sub I ordered but it was pretty good. The bread was so crunchy and worked well for the sub. The meat was fresh and tasty. And the hot giardiniera that I topped it off with was amazing! A pet peeve I have with any business is...if you have Hours of Operation then you should be available during those hours, if not, then why post Hours that your not going to abide by? Too many times have I come here and found you weren't open when your Hours said you were. Once in awhile might be acceptable, but OFTEN is not. read more

Fantastic old fashioned spot for a great sandwich. The owners are so kind and welcoming, as if you're family. The bread is baked fresh by the bakery down the street. Definitely come by here if you're craving a good sized sandwich (especially their special) on some fresh crusty bread. read more

Ashamed that it took me this long to check out Vinnie's; I wish they had a couple of hot options on the menu and I wish they were closer to my house. Otherwise, good times. Tried the #1 and the Turkey Special; both were great, but the #1 is why I'll come back. The hot giardiniera was the right call to add as well; very fresh ingredients and the bread was great. Fair prices given what I am ordering here, fast service, and depending on your timing, free parking very close by. read more

Hands down, Vinnie's is my #1 sub shop of all time. It's safe to say I am a regular. Maybe I'm biased because Vinnie's makes what I consider to be the ideal sub. But beyond that, the overall atmosphere is entertaining. The shop is small (room for one or two tables and a few stools along the window), but the owner DECKS the place out come every and any holiday. And speaking of the owner, she could not be sweeter, or more hospitable. She makes everyone who walks in feel like family. If you're in the area, or just looking for a good sub sandwich... definitely give this place a try. read more

Have to say, I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately they fell short. Great bread, fresh ingredients, just really, really skimpy on the meat for their subs. You actually get more at Subway for less. I got the Italian Sub, and barely tasted any meat. I guess you can pay more for extra, but with so many other options around town, why? Walking back to my car, I thought, "Cool place, great little corner deli, if I pull this sub out and there's a ton of meat, I'll bring all my friends and visitors here first!". I ordered a mushroom pizza and the cheese was so good plus the funghi and crust. We ate there again the following night after a Cubs game. The bartender graciously took our order. We had the lemon kale salad, gnocchi and lasagna. The couple next to us had a to go order but they also were too hungry! Delicioso! Buon Appetito! Highly recommend. In the bar area we sat; mostly high tops there. A little more casual than the restaurant. But being a late night location, I'm sure if you are clothed and not drunk, they'll serve you.

Discovered this little gem after I couldn't eat any more Chicago pizzas, hot dog or beef…read moresandwiches. The place was packed on Tuesday night so make sure to book a reservation. I ordered the item charcuterie and chose coppa, prosciutto, and a French Brie. The meat and cheese were good as expected but that quince spread really took the dish over the top! It was the perfect complement to the fatty meats. Next was the Mushroom dish and while the mushroom purer wasn't a looker, it was a huge umami bomb! Really good pairing with the other mushrooms on the plate. Lastly, I got the milk braised shoulder and it was so tender and flavorful. Good size portion, too! Took leftovers and made a breakfast sandwich the next day and it was still good! I regret not ordering the beef marrow, the table next to me did and I had food envy the whole time but honestly, I had no more room, I was so stuffed! Drinks and service was great, too! Highly recommend you go here if you are in downtown Chicago.

And paired with marbled potatoes, sambuca, chimichurri, and Spanish chorizo. Every bite was beautifully balanced and flavorful. This octopus dish will be remembered. Service at the bar was attentive. And the restaurant was nice.

This prompted me to go check out what was on the menu. When I was greeted by someone to order, it seemed like they were a bit impatient or a bit annoyed that I was between two entrees. I understand that businesses get busy, but it is always important to treat everyone with respect! That being said, I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was great! The potato salad as a side was the perfect pair. Portion sizes were great and overall a good experience! I would go again to try some of the other options.
