A couple months ago I left a Yelp review raving about the food and service because everything was consistently great. We used to be regulars, going a few times a week every single week. To be clear, the food is still great and the cooks continue to do an amazing job. The issue lately has been the service and overall experience, which unfortunately hasn't been the same over the last couple of months. This is a classy place in an unexpected area. I was originally wanting another cuisine on the evening I visited here, but my colleague wanted something close to our hotel. We tried the Peachtree, Rappahannock, and 1871 raw oysters. The entree I tried the whitefish picada. We both agreed the 1871 oysters were the better ones, as they were clean and slightly briny. My colleague ordered the Ceasars salad and the salmon dish. He said the salmon was really good, but the Ceasars salad was bland. I liked my white fish dish, even though it was a bit mushy. We've been eyeing this place and finally came for dinner. Staff is warm and welcoming. There weren't many customers so we were seated quickly. The vibe is old school, with disco balls. Our waitress was Jennifer, and she was great! Loved her sense of humor! They bring bread with oil and parmesan; for starters, we ordered the calamari, which comes with fried peppers. Had a wonderful dinner at Vinny's last night. I'm glad we went eary and it was getting loud by the time we left around 6pm and my nephew is sensitive to loud noises. Great service from when you walk in with the hostess and host being friendly. When seated, the cheery servers are there to help you choose what you want with great recommendations. The bussers clear off your tables and do it with smiles and are also engaging. We started off with oysters and baked clams. There's an hearth that is used to bake their shellfish over wood. I'm still dreaming about the baked clams. They were full, large, delicious, and dreamy. Seriously, I have never tasted baked clams so good. We also ordered entrees and I ordered the clam linguine in white sauce. It wasn't too heavy, was hearty, and full of fresh clams. I was so happy eating this. To finish off my palette, I enjoyed the beautifully presented limoncello tiramisu! OMG how gorgeous was this dessert! The lemon curd tiramisu is shaped as lemons! So adorable and delicious! The liveliness of the restaurant is shown in their "towel dance". A DJ is there playing music and when there's a certain older song that comes on, everyone preps to wave their towels around. Then the towel song comes on and you see the wait staff and hosts run around the restaurant with twirling towels. The guests also participate and it's one big towel twirling party!
