Made a reservation for my father's birthday on a Sunday at 3pm. Vinny's is one of his favorite restaurants. We got there 5 mins early & we're told they had no ETA on when a table would be available because the venue was booked for party. I asked several times if she knew how long the wait would be, we were okay waiting for a short period of time, not the end of the world. But she doubled down on having no clue and said "I have no where to fit you in until they leave". I then asked why they would be accepting reservations if they knew accommodating them wouldn't be realistic for this evening and the hostess said she didn't know. Given the reservation process requires an email and phone number I asked why someone couldn't have let us know sooner so we didn't get dressed up and come out. Again, she couldn't answer. In disbelief I had to turn to my family and tell them they had no room for us and endlessly apologize for the change in plans. And had to search for somewhere else to go for his birthday. I was just really disappointed & while we drove to the next restaurant, I emailed the restaurants direct website and gave the same feedback. 25 minutes later, while at Francesca's in downtown Frankfort, the restaurant called me for not showing up to our reservation and canceled on me! I am not sure what reality I was living that day, but not hearing back from the restaurant at all after sending them direct feedback on their miscommunication that day, I figure this should be public knowledge for other patrons planning an evening with family for a gathering. I appreciated the hot peppers in the calamari, but the calamari itself should have been the standout. The salsiccia, however, was the BEST I've ever had and easily the highlight of the meal. I could have dipped the bread into that sauce all night. Honestly, if I had ordered only the salsiccia with bread, the meal would have been a 5/5. Still great! Gregory was our waiter this time around. Friendly and attentive. He gave us the low down on the specials which we all ordered. As always we started with the raw oysters. Love they always have a variety to choose from and fresh. I had the Mixto with shrimp, scallop and salmon blackened. Came with garlic mashed and broccolini which I subbed for green beans. They need to keep this on the menu! It worked for my appetite size as everything was a small portion and the flavor was so good! My other friends also had a special which was Halibut. Discriminatory Treatment and an Unacceptable Experience On September 18, 2026, my partner and I visited Vinny's Clam Bar with a 7:45 p.m. reservation. We arrived around 7:55 p.m. and waited nearly an hour to be seated. During our wait, we witnessed other customers being loud, rude, and hostile toward restaurant staff regarding their wait time. Despite their behavior, they were eventually seated and allowed to enjoy their meals. When my partner simply asked the host when we would be seated, another employee accused her of being disrespectful. Once seated, my partner even apologized to the host if her tone had come across as rude. We were served drinks and allowed to place our food order. Shortly afterward, Manager Christopher Bernal approached our table and informed us that the two employees involved in the earlier conversation reportedly felt threatened and that we had to leave. Also if we didn't leave his staff was ready to walk out. Yet our waiter was nice, friendly and didn't seem threatened by anyone at the table when she came to our table several times beforehand. What I found particularly disturbing was that the other customers, who had been noticeably louder and confrontational, were allowed to remain and dine. Christopher acknowledged being aware of their behavior, yet we were the ones being removed. He advised he was dealing with them in a different manner. When we questioned why we were being treated differently, we received no clear explanation. We agreed to leave. However, when my partner took photographs of Christopher and the employee involved to document the incident for a formal complaint, he became upset, threatened to press charges, and called the police. My partner was subsequently given the option of deleting the photographs or receiving a trespass notice. She declined, and a notice was issued to both of us. I believe we were subjected to discriminatory treatment. Other customers were permitted to behave in a loud, rude, and hostile manner and still enjoy their meals, while my partner was labeled threatening for simply asking about our reservation. We were then removed from the restaurant and subjected to police involvement. No customer should have to question whether they are being treated differently because of their race. I intend to pursue a formal discrimination complaint regarding this incident. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this establishment. read more

This is a classy place in an unexpected area. I was originally wanting another cuisine on the evening I visited here, but my colleague wanted something close to our hotel. We tried the Peachtree, Rappahannock, and 1871 raw oysters. The entree I tried the whitefish picada. We both agreed the 1871 oysters were the better ones, as they were clean and slightly briny. My colleague ordered the Ceasars salad and the salmon dish. He said the salmon was really good, but the Ceasars salad was bland. I liked my white fish dish, even though it was a bit mushy. Interesting features at Vinny's obviously includes the revolving front entry door, the picture frames on the walls, the hand wash sink in the dining room, the disco ball, and the lively atmosphere. A couple months ago I left a Yelp review raving about the food and service because everything was consistently great. We used to be regulars, going a few times a week every single week. To be clear, the food is still great and the cooks continue to do an amazing job. The issue lately has been the service and overall experience, which unfortunately hasn't been the same over the last couple of months. We've been eyeing this place and finally came for dinner. Staff is warm and welcoming. There weren't many customers so we were seated quickly. The vibe is old school, with disco balls. Our waitress was Jennifer, and she was great! Loved her sense of humor! They bring bread with oil and parmesan; for starters, we ordered the calamari, which comes with fried peppers. Me and my wife Rhonda have lived in tinley for a long time. We loved going to Tin Fish every week. Coming to Vinnys we were excited to see all the good things I have heard people talk about. Went to dinner here tonight and had a spectacular experience. I didn't know what to think as I am not familiar with Tinley Park at all but it blew our expectations out of the water. The bread itself deserves an award, it is so fresh and comes with the most delicious oil and Parmesan cheese to dip. Had a wonderful dinner at Vinny's last night. I'm glad we went eary and it was getting loud by the time we left around 6pm and my nephew is sensitive to loud noises. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with accommodations, as i have celiacs. We ordered the baked oysters, 2 of each flavor. Each one was better than the next. The bread that they bring out while your while waiting on your food is so fresh and tasty especially the red chili oil. I of course tried the oysters because I love a good oyster and was craving them really bad. This place is definitely a hidden gem in tinley park. Inside of this restaurant definitely gives you a downtown restaurant vibe but the suburban atmosphere. The food was really good especially the oysters. The pasta I had was really good but my cousin had pasta and thought it lacked some flavor.
