This restaurant continues to be one of my favorites in the area. The homemade ingredients do not disappoint, and I have yet to find comparable restaurants without heading into Chicago. This time I had the gnocchi, which had a thick parmesan cream and prosciutto on top. With the peas it created a sweet and bit salty combo that was very rich in flavor. I ended up asking for some bread and finished off the cream with it. For the fried calamari and asparagus salad, the lemon and honey vinaigrette dressing on the salad were great. The breading on the calamari melted in my mouth, but was somehow crunchy (the menu says crispy). For the eggplant parmigiana and linguine frutti, the eggplant was layered between a great tasting mozzarella cheese, garlic and tomato sauce. The blended mix worked well to produce a flavorful dish. For the linguine frutti, the homemade pasta was cooked to just the right amount, for a great tasting pasta. The seafood and sauce also tasted very good. Service is top notch and always very friendly. They are quick to respond and fill cups. Noise level is typically medium. read more

We have been to Ottimo's many times, but tonight our experience was not good. While the food was delicious, hot, visually pleasing, and plenty, our service was very much lacking. The bus boy took our bread, and we said we were saving it for our meal, and he said he would bring more, but never did. Our server never checked on us, we were never asked how our dinner was, if we wanted another cocktail, maybe dessert, nor did anyone come by to see if we wanted a take home container, and honestly we were there for a special celebration. YES! This is the best pasta place I have every been to in Illinois. The service is so welcoming!!! And the ambiance is just so awesome! I asked for pasta with pesto but it wasn't on the menu, and they made it for me! Such nice people! I mean it is a little pricey (70 dollars for 2 people) but the price is so worth it! We recently hosted a couple's baby shower for my son and daughter-in-law at Ottimo's in Orland Park, and it was absolutely incredible. From the beginning, working with Alyssa to plan the menu and room setup was a great experience. She was so patient with me as I changed my mind from the side room to the main room as our numbers grew. Patrick helped on the day of the event, and although there was one small hiccup, he quickly fixed it. As we were setting up in a rush, the wait staff was so helpful and moved whatever we wanted. The food and the service were impeccable. Everyone was commenting on how much food there was and how delicious it all was. The room was beautiful, with natural light from the patio, and our 55 guests had plenty of room to mingle and spread out. Everyone was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely caring throughout the entire afternoon. It made the day so much better that we didn't have to worry about a thing. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such an important milestone. If you are looking for a stress-free and memorable event space, I highly recommend it. read more

An unassuming storefront hides a super high quality restaurant inside. Let's face it, the exterior facade of this building kind of looks like its going to be mediocre. But assuming that is a big mistake! The service was excellent, everything we had was great. The prices are even reasonable. Frankly, I would have paid more for this quality of food. Our excellent server Daniel and his twin brother Carlo treat everyone like they're guests in their home. They made us feel very welcome. The drinks are strong but not just alcohol overload (sometimes I think places do this to cover up other faults). I could actually taste the other flavors with my vodka which isn't the case in many places. Bread was nice, fresh, but nothing to write home about. Coffee was strong and the calamari was perfect. They even had home-made ranch; I didn't expect ranch at a Italian restaurant - let alone good ranch. Onto the main courses, the Lasagna was excellent, the sausage was so flavorful, I could have been satisfied just with that and the salad. The steak was massive and rivaled steaks I've had at Wildfire and Gibsons for double the price. The desserts were perfect too. So many restaurants hide their mediocrity behind too powerful drinks and too sugary desserts but not this place. We will definitely be back! read more

Outstanding dinner at Osteria Ottimo. They offer both indoor and outdoors seating however outdoor wasn't available during my visit but that was most likely due to the weather. Bread and butter service is brought to the table prior to ordering and it's so good you'll want to get more. Warm Italian bread with a little crust on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside along with the butter that is loaded with herbs and seasonings that was delicious. My server told me what was in it but it was too many things to remember or list. Chicken Parm and pasta was all perfectly prepared and I'm a harsh critic when it comes to chicken parm. Pasta cooked perfect and the sauce was not overly sweet or spicy but it had a great tomato flavor. 2 small chicken breast with a light breading, not a hard shell like you'll find elsewhere, covered in that sauce and topped with melty cheese. Shout out to my server Daniel for the amazing service. Great overall experience! The only negative is they add 3% to every check if you pay by credit card which is starting to be a bad trend in restaurants. read more

I have been to Osteria Ottimo many times and last night I was there with another couple. 3 of us ordered the Lobster Bisque and it was not flavorful at all and had NO lobster in it at all, all 3 bowls were just a creamy soup with no lobster and minimal flavor. I also ordered what I always order when I go to Osteria Ottimo the Parmesan crusted boat scallops, potato prosciutto hash, pistachio, scallions, white wine sauce, balsamico. Usually they are great and I have recommended this dish to may people, last night I was so disappointed, they were barley room temperature, and the scallops had NO Parmesan crust at all. This dish is expensive and our table was very disappointed. The service was good but the soup and scallops were not, not sure if they hired a new cook but not sure if we'll be back either. I ordered the brick chicken which I found tasty, a little less salt would have been nice but overall decent. I did not enjoy the use of fries in this plate. Some fingerling potatoes and carrots would have been a nice balance instead of the fries and I wish the chef would take this into consideration. I went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. Monday evening birthday dinner. The food was decent and the service was excellent. One thing to note is that the menu on their website is much larger than the menu at the restaurant for some reason. Also, the place is called Osteria but there are no oysters listed on either menu. The place was packed and the tables are a little tight but overall a good dining experience. Last night, my husband, son and I came for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. This morning we both said to each other that was the best meal we've had in a really long time! From the drinks, French Martini and Vodka Martini straight up with blue cheese olives, to the appetizers, Giant Meatball and grilled calamari, our meal, the dessert, volcano cake the best! and cappuccino, as well as the staff, it was a five star experience for us! They serve Jidori chicken that is more than half inch thick and when properly cooked you can cut it with your fork. If you are not familiar with Jidori chicken, it's expensive to purchase and it's eaten raw in Japan. read more
