We've been going to Francesca's in Palos for about six years, and it has consistently been a fantastic experience. My wife and I go about twice a month, often enough that our drinks are usually brought to the table right after we're seated -- without us even having to order them. The host and waitstaff always make a point to take great care of us. We're often given our same table, the service is always on point, and the food and drinks are excellent. They definitely do not skimp on the drinks, either. One of the things that really sets Francesca's apart is how accommodating they are. Whenever my wife's favorite meal isn't on the menu, the kitchen will still make it for her. We often split, but I've also had several fish and seafood entrees, and they never disappoint. The desserts, especially the specials, are memorable. This is the kind of restaurant that feels both polished and personal. Had a small family group out last night (Tuesday) to celebrate my baby sister's birthday. Francesca's staff and kitchen knocked it out of the park. The manager, Glenda, greeted our party and wished my sister a Happy Birthday. Our waiter, Cullen, was attentive and his timing was impeccable. Drinks and food were all on point. This restaurant has really upped their game in the last year. Kudos to all for a very special evening with loved ones. Bravo Zulu! I have one nit. I met up with two friends for dinner at Francesca's Vicinato on a Saturday night. I had never been to this location before, and here are a few things I noticed. The space is much smaller than other locations, but it is just as cozy. You do not feel like you are overly cramped. There were many people waiting to be seated and the restaurant was packed! We had made reservations a week prior, so we were seated right away. I started off with a cocktail called Svegliati; Tito's Licor, Meletti Coffee Liquor, and Espresso. It was smooth and velvety with a rich espresso flavor. I really enjoyed it! For my entree, I opted for the Linguine con Calamari; calamari, spicy marinara, anchovies, and garlic. This dish was to die for. The calamari was cooked to perfection and the flavors blended together beautifully. The linguine was also cooked perfectly al dente. The service was a bit on the slower side this night, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. There were large parties of people coming in and a few celebrations going on. I have had 4 showers all of them were amazing, Nancy was great. People still talk about how great everything was. My husband and I have been there many times and have never had a meal that was outstanding. Tonight my husband picked up the Salmon dish, words alone cannot describe how delicious it . Ended up eating here a couple times this month. I'd say it's the 2nd best of the three Franchescas I've tried (Frankfurt one is number one). The pasta dishes were excellent. No complaint me about the drinks or fresh bread. The lamb special was a little odd tasting. But the Chicken vesuvio never disappoints! It has the best sauce ever. Tira misu ir Toffee cake make the meal for dessert. Only thing not so great is it is slow. Takes a long time to get your food, but at least the food is good. read more

We picked a good time on Christmas Eve..2:30. It was not crowded but noisy. I had a sugar cookie martini..good but watered down. We started out with Donna's meatballs. Very tasty. I had the vodka with mushrooms and spinach. It was very flavorful..but greasy. My husband had the salmon. He said it was tasty as well. Lucky for us we were seated with my back to the water pitchers, because our server never checked on us and I had to refill our glasses myself. We had the spomoni..a bit pricey at $8 each. Went here many years ago for Easter or Mother's Day - I recall the buffet was pretty small with not too many offerings, disappointing, and the breakfast sausage tasted really bad. NOW jump to last Christmas 2024 - no buffet but ordered off the menu. We were blown away by how delicious and fresh the food was, our server was excellent and answered any questions in detail. Dessert was out of this world! That experience led us there today for Easter buffet. OMG SO much better than the one described above. Delicious food was everywhere and they kept everything full and fresh! They did an amazing job! Like a well-oiled machine, they had it down pat! First time I visit and it was very delicious I had the seafood risotto and my friend had the lobster linguine it was their special of the day.....very delicious and service was GREAT. came here for dinner with a party of 6. it got busy after we ordered our entrees and it took a really long time for our entrees to come out. 3 of the orders came out first and then 5 minutes later 2 more came out. and finally my salmon came out 5 minutes after that. it tasted good but the portion was small and it was clearly reheated last minute. overall service was just okay and food was incredibly pricey for the quality/portion. read more

I came to the restaurant tonight in Palos Park after for the first time in 10 years. I had many good experience's there in the past. I ventured in tonight, What I found was a stale experience. It looked like a failed and tired restaurant. The bar tender was ok but the manager was a rude and unappreciative bitch (excuse my language). The ignorance of her astounded me, I am sure your restaurant is on its last leg so i will not kick you when your down. I spend about 3 to 4 thousand a month dining out. Today I rather have thrown my $200.00 in the street than pay for the experience I had. I Know you have many places but certainly I hope they treat people better than I was treated. I go to Oak Lawn at least 1 times per month, and am treated fantastically! My suggestion, and incidentally I am a business consultant, is to pivot, close down and totally revamp this tired place. You have a good location. Study Capri restaurants, maybe befriend GiGi, get a clue. I am sure you are losing money at this location or making very little. Call me I would love to share my thoughts. Are you kidding me?!! It's the day before Thanks and my daughter called me saying my grandson has Influenza A....all plans for the holiday are called off. A quick call to Francesca's solved our problem.....so we'll have Italian instead of turkey, right? No!! They offered a complete Thanksgiving Day meal....so my husband, my sister and I ordered the Thanksgiving meal. Yo our surprise each of us received ONE HALF OF A (at least) TEN POUND TURKEY!! It was spectacular!! We laughed and throughly enjoyed our birds with all the trimmings....and for the next several days as well!! That was our first visit to Francesca's....we've gone since then for the Italian menu. Being Italian, I'm fussy about Italian food and it was delicioso!!! #57/2023 Francesca's is a small Italian style Trattoria style group of restaurants a part of the Scott Harris group of dining establishments in the Chicagoland area. Scott Harris originally began in the city with one restaurant in early 90s They have since branched out into all different styles there's Greek there is of course the Mexican Fat Rosies and a few more all owned by them. What makes these Francesca's interesting is each has sort of a theme This the viccianto located in Palos Park Illinois it's more fine dining style experience without having to dress like fine dining. It's a very quiet sort of setting very nice as opposed to the fortunato over in Frankfurt which is extremely loud and more like a chain restaurant feel like an Olive garden type of thing. There's also a nice one on 95th Street in oak Lawn Francesca's North in Northbrook is a nice location too. Never been to any of the other ones through the years I've been here a few times but this is the first time I've actually taken the time to review. This is one of my favorite ones because it's not real crowded as far as cramped together. When you walk in you're greeted immediately reservations are accepted they have outdoor dining if you like it like a bistro-like setting. They have numerous dining rooms and I believe there's a banquet room in the back somewhere for big parties. Mom and dad like this place a lot they go here fairly often. So made reservations and came over here. We made reservations for 4:45 p.m. was very quiet when we arrive what time we left it was pretty bustling. 7/16/23 arrived early enough almost didn't need them but it's better to play it safe for the place like this The menu does sometimes change I believe throughout the seasons currently I have pics posted as to what is there. First sat down and I ordered one of their sangria's mom ordered a glass of wine dad had a Chianti. They brought out the olive oil cheese and bread was fantastic bread nice fresh and warm. Good quality olive oil used also. Ordered a Caprese not on menu but available by request. A little different with a huge large tomato and a giant spinach leaf but it was good Food was ordered Mom had a salmone alla fresca dinner Which was grilled salmon tomato avocado red onion olive oil basil lemon saba overgrilled asparagus Dad had a Mafalde bolognese. Beef pork veal tomato sauce and then (the reason why I don't eat Bolognese) nasty carrots onion then celery Parmesan cheese I had had the veal saltimbocca in past. however it was not offered but I do like the way it's prepared that way, so I went with the Saltimbocca Di Pollo which of course is the same only is chicken. It's a sauteed chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto white wine sage and sauteed spinach. All three meals were fantastic Decided order desserts and expresso's Used lavazza like many good places use Dad had a berry bread pudding: which had salted caramel gelato local organic berries and Candy almonds inside. I ordered a dessert to split with ma Profiteroles: Warm cream puffs pistachio gelato in chocolate sauce Food and service was fantastic as always at this one definitely a nice place to return to read more

Went there this weekend. Great ambiance, helpful waiter, water is always topped off. Had the calamari and the pasta in vodka sauce with crumbled sausage. Can I just say both were delicious! I hadn't been to Francesca's Vicinato in quite some time. After my wonderful meal, I will definitely visit more often. Our waiter was wonderful. He noticed that my friend and I each had gift bags next to our chairs. He asked about the occasion and we explained that it was both of our birthdays. We each had the flounder and shrimp entree which was absolutely delicious along with a shared Caesar salad. Our waiter surprised each of us with a complimentary dessert and bday candle. While we were opening our gifts, another surprise; complimentary limoncello. He was so very kind and attentive. We truly enjoyed our luncheon and felt very special. read more

Great Italian food and ambience. The staff are very accommodating and they have a dedicated gluten free menu. Some of my favorite things to order are: pasta with vodka sauce and sausage, sautéed calamari, risotto, and my friends love their pizza (not gluten free though).
