Cacio E Pepe with 3 pieces of sausage weighing less than 1 ounce in a dish that I paid $31 for.

One Star Rarely do I feel compelled to leave a one-star review, but our experience at Vino was truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. It started before we even stepped inside. Our party of six waited nearly 15 awkward minutes outside at the hostess station before a single employee acknowledged us. Once seated, we were placed in a back room that was at least quieter than the front of the restaurant--which was nearly deafening--so that felt like the only small win of the evening. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill fast. After being seated, it took another 15+ minutes just for the waitress to take our drink orders. Appetizers followed and were mediocre at best, nothing remotely memorable or worth the wait. My Caesar salad was laughable. It advertised house-made chunky croutons--there were three, each no larger than a Hershey's Kiss. The salad itself was watery and bland, as if the lettuce hadn't been dried before the dressing was added. I even had to ask for pepper, which somehow confused the waitress. The main course was the final insult. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with Conecuh sausage, priced at $31. The "sausage" consisted of three tiny pieces, totaling maybe one ounce combined. For that price? Are you kidding me? By the end of the meal, our table was stunned--not satisfied. Little to no protein, minimal substance, and zero justification for the prices. Our bill for four people came to $285, and everyone left feeling taken advantage of. This wasn't just disappointing--it was egregious. Poor service, underwhelming food, and wildly inflated prices make this a restaurant I will never return to or recommend

This is a new favorite place for outdoor dining, for drinks--it just had the best vibes. I felt like I was in New York or something.we sat at the bar while we waited for our table and I tried a Hugo spritz. My dad got the paper plane and it was good, even though I don't like dark liquor. I got sea scallops SO GOOD! My dad got the lamb and it pulled right off the bone. Definitely going back!!

I truly wish I could give this place 5 stars. It's easily one of the best outdoor spots in Birmingham for drinks and dinner -- charming atmosphere, string lights, and a great location in English Village. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the setting. The dip plate (hummus & tzatziki) summed up the experience: $13 for a pile of chips in the center with three dips. The taste was fine, but the presentation felt like no effort was made. For entrées, we had the eggplant and pasta. Again, just "good" -- basic presentation and average flavors. I really like the space, but for the price point and the neighborhood, I expected more attention to presentation, flavor, and service.

Vino is tucked into English Village. An art gallery + bar restaurant - so fun! We came on a Monday to celebrate a birthday. I had come previously for martinis (which are fabulous), but have since been apprehensive to try dinner given all of the prior mixed reviews. I'm glad that we came to try it for ourselves! Our favorite dishes were definitely the Asian fusion ones - the bang bang cauliflower, the scallops, and the seafood curry dish. The penne vodka pasta and hangar steak were good but nothing special for the price. The martinis are fabulous - my favorite is the Chilton County Strawberry. A plus: if you come on a Monday, there are select drinks and appetizers for $8. Our server was attentive and kind. She helped serve our birthday cake, but do note that we were charged for cutting the cake at the table. What really will keep me coming back is the ambiance. The outdoor patio is perfect for a summer afternoon cocktail/wine glass/appetizer moment.

Wonderful repeat visit! Everything was delicious. Very attentive staff. Parking was my only disappointment.

Love this spot for date night or girls night out! The food and wine is great and the ambiance in the outdoor seating is my favorite - especially when weather is good. Don't love the atmosphere on the indoor seating but it's great service regardless!

Came here for Saturday brunch for a friend's birthday. They took reservations and had our table ready outside. Our server Liz was very attentive to our group and really nice! The menu is very specific down to the syrup. I ordered Capellini vino with chicken. It tasted pretty close to a chicken alfredo. It was a little bland for my taste. I was told that the salmon was good. My sis enjoyed the hash tower (no tomatoes). The little potato cakes were really tasty, but the bacon was very crispy. Several people got the American and it was agreed that the thick, very crisp bacon was giving a taste of pork rinds. No complaints about the conecuh sausage. All in all... I would come back, at least to try dinner. The patio ambiance seems like it would be especially nice during dinner and these cooler nights.

We planned an afternoon here with the girls to celebrate a birthday. We sat outside. Although it was hot, the area is shaded and they had a couple of fans out. They also have a small, indoor air conditioned space with a small art gallery if you don't want to do the heat. The string lights added to the ambiance. Several of us had the wine flight (you choose 3). We also ordered a charcuterie board, olives, cornichons (pickles) and pimento cheese. Everything tasted amazing!!! You have to walk up to the bar to order. The servers were very helpful with making the wine selections. They also came to the table to clear glasses and to assist with any questions. Oh, let me not forget the honey! It was spectacular drizzled on the crackers and cheeses. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

We thoroughly toured the list of French wines, imbibed on a couple of their yummy cocktails (my friend loves the "Last Word"). Service was, of course, fantastic. The location is one of the most quaint and vibey in town (Morris Ave) and the food is certainly up to snuff. We split the famous potato appetizer and I had the half chicken for entree. Both outstanding.

We were able to make a reservation for inside dining which I liked because it was a hot June Alabama day, but I would have preferred outside because it was so loud inside, there was no sound suppression, and the tables were very close together. The outside patio was nice and covered. Next time I will request to sit outside. We started with the sourdough bread which I highly recommend! There was enough pieces to have one while you waited for your dinner, and to save one to eat with your dinner. My husband ordered the deviled eggs and really enjoyed them. For our entree, we shared the roasted chicken. It was a half chicken with lemon, garlic, shallots and potato gratin. It was plenty for both of us. We even had leftovers. This is probably because of the appetizers and we had stopped for drinks at Cayo Coco before dinner. We usually skip dessert, but my husband really wanted to try the chocolate custard, bittersweet chocolate custard with chantilly cream. The presentation was beautiful. I had a couple of bites and it also tasted amazing. Our waiter recommended a dessert wine that paired with the custard. He let us try a couple of sips, and the sweet fruitiness really made a difference. The service was amazing. We will definitely be back.
