This was a decent Vino Volo at Boston Logan airport, but they didn't have the flights like every other location I've been to. I usually like to try the different samples at a location, so I just stuck to 2 glasses plus the $2 pour for being a Vino Volo member (sign up on the app). The seating area was kind of a mess and service was slow with only 2 people working the large area, but it got the job done. Sometimes the locations are serene and calming, but this spot right next to the E Terminal TSA line was a little busy for a relaxing glass of wine (or two). The Olives only option for $6 was a steal as they were delicious and well seasoned. Great option for a quick cheap salty snack. I'd stop again as their selections were good, but hopefully service and the environment are improved. You may get better service AT the bar, but it was full when I arrived. read more

As of writing this, there's two Vino Volo's in the Boston Airport: Terminal A and Terminal E. So this review is for Terminal E. I think maybe I had Vacation Brain (e.g. rose - not rosé, though - coloured glasses on) when I wrote my first review five plus years ago and/or lots have changed. When I revisited recently they were understaffed: two people were running the entire restaurant (serving tables, pouring the drinks behind the bar, etc.), so they weren't seating many people at the same time. Understandable. What wasn't okay was that there was no sign saying "wait to be seated", so when people tried to seat themselves they would be literally yelled at ("Stand up and go wait!"). Naturally, that turned a lot of people away. Watching how slow the operation was, when we were finally seated, then finally visited by the server who seated us (because there was a big gap between being seated and actually ordering) we asked for two glasses of red, the mixed nuts, the mixed olives, and the check. The server said, "No, because you're gonna want another glass." Us: "We absolutely only want one drink; please bring the check." He walked away. Twenty minutes later, our two drinks (the pours inconsistent with each other), nuts, and olives showed up, but no check. Us: "Can we also get the check like we asked for?" He walked away. The Australian couple next to us started laughing, saying they had been waiting a while for their second round and check too. When they finally got their drinks, their order was wrong and they weren't given their check. They tried to call their server back over, but he said he was "too busy." Another forty minutes went by, and their server finally came back to say, "Oh, we think your order was wrong, here's your check, we took off the wrong drinks." We asked their server for our check before he could squeeze past our table, because our server in the end never came back to check on us. It was absolute chaos. All in all, when we look back at our holiday, this was one of the "we could have skipped this" moments (especially since we had wine on the plane). Save your money and just skip the headache Vino Volo is sure to give. read more

I stopped by this place for dinner before my Delta flight on a Tuesday night. This place is extremely overpriced for the amount/portion of food. The clam chowder was delicious but for $11, I barely got a bowl. It was more like half a serving. I didn't think it was worth more than $5. I also got the tuna salad and although very good, it wasn't filling at all. These entrees go for about $15-$20+ but they are only appetizer size. I understand this is an airport restaurant and it is Boston but c'mon!! At least the portions should be regular size. I had to go to the news station and buy more food after spending $35 here!! Crazy expensive! The waitress was also not that friendly. I could tell she hated her job and wanted to leave work. She forgot my water at first and I felt like I was bothering her for a glass. It shouldn't have to be that way when I am the paying for her tips! I would probably skip this place next time and just get something at the news station to be honest. read more

Food was lame. I ordered a buratta bowl with tomatoes and basil and toast and got a round of buratta, a microscopic basil leaf, and 3 halves of cherry tomatoes. The service was awful too. Had to flag someone down and ask if I could order. They dropped the food and left, never to return. No water, no question about how the food was, nothing. The wine pours were very small for $16 and $19 per glass. We had to beg for the check and still didn't get it. Had to go up to the bar to pay since they didn't bring it. I'm not sure why everything at this airport closes so early but it is annoying! Although I realize it may be the airport and not the fault of the restaurant itself. It wasn't Vino Volo that impressed me - it was the guys who worked there. They were extremely welcoming despite the fact that I looked like I had just been ran over by a truck (oh, flying...). A man left his wallet on the table and the bartender went to every gate to see if he was on the plane. They were able to get it to the guy that had already boarded. I thought that little act was great as he could have simply not done anything about it I thoroughly enjoyed the wine. I wish I had known that you didn't have to pay to be a part of the club though! I downloaded the app and scanned my receipt for points. Next time I'll get the club tasting for $2! The food looked phenomenal, but I wished they had smaller offerings as I didn't want to have a bowl of olives and nuts to myself for $11. I actually preferred this to Legal Seafoods. read more

Why settle for a glass of wine when you get can sample many? My 1st time seeing a Vino Volo in airport (Terminal A) & it served me fine in passing time with a glass of wine. Ode to the company's namesake 'Wine Flight', as I selected the World Value Reds. $10 price point for sampling Dolcetto, Malbec & Shiraz wines...2 out of 3 were satisfying to my palate. There was only a handful of customers, so receiving good customer service simultaneously from Leena & Omar worked out for me. Although an airport location, the interior & set up is the same as other locations I've visited, just on a smaller scale. They offer free Wi-Fi, retail products & this location is opened until 30 minutes before the last departing flights. Glad to see more establishments such as Vino Volo in airport terminals. read more

From the time I entered to the time I left, I truly regret coming to this establishment. I came in with a friend before our flight. We entered around 4:40pm ordered a cheese platter, I explained that I wanted olives as well being that it didn't come with the platter. At this time we are halfway through our cheese platter and she comes over to the table and says "the bartender lost our ticket. And she wasn't allowed to pour our drinks herself" I was clearly upset and disturbed, I watched multiple people lose their patience with her service and her lack of ability to service others in a timely manner. Remember we are waiting for flights and to receive horrible service as such was just unprofessional and uncalled for it. She asked "how we liked the beverages". I wanted to say what was really on my mind but again I had a flight to catch. I explained the cheese was ok and the trio was alright minus the temperature and the lack of bubbles. Champagne and Prosecco are suppose to be bubbly not flat. She says "well next time let me know so I can pair it properly". This added insult to injury being that I gave her my order so pairing should have been recommended then and there. I usually go to Legal Seafood when at Terminal E, but the line was insanely long and I was hungry before flying to Copenhagen. Vino Volo was dead at 4:00 PM. It almost put me off of eating there, but the friendly host told me to grab a seat anywhere. I sat at a table for two, as a solo diner. One look at the wine menu and I figured that it was a great bargain to get a flight of three different wines, rather than a single glass of one wine. I went with the red red offering. I was not disappointed! I chose wines from California, Australia, and France. The Barossa Valley dessert wine was particularly delicious. Since I needed something to eat, I ordered a sandwich from the small menu. The little sandwich was great. Brie, fig spread, delicious prosciutto on fresh ciabatta bread hit the spot. It put me in a great mood for my 7 hour flight. In fact, the sandwich was so tasty, I bought some fig jam at Trader Joe's so I could make my own version at home. read more

Wandering through Terminal E, there isn't a lot of choice for food and places to sit to eat (for an international terminal it's pretty poor). Luckily, on traipsing past the food area, I was able to (after a short wait) get a seat, at a table at Vino Volo. A large selection of wines to choose from, and some light bites to eat (I wasn't too hungry by that time of night, but needed some sustenance) - this was just what I'd been looking for. I was expecting a meal when I ordered the roasted lamb meatballs but instead I got three meatballs and paid $12 with tax for them. The waitress took a long time too to take our check. I'm never coming back here again and don't recommend it. I learned to read the fine print in a menu; I assumed that like other restaurants pasta or rice or actual food comes with the meat, but there was nothing on the menu that suggested that! Pros: The food was pretty good. Though, the beets clearly came out of a can. Cons: Serving sizes are pretty small, expect to order two plates if you are hungry. We actually went to another place to buy food immediately after leaving. The service was absolutely horrendous. I've never had worse service. Our waitress did not check on our table, not once. It took over 10 minutes to get water and when our food came out they only brought one set of silverware. We then sat there for 20 minutes before we could get our check and it wasn't even our waitress who checked on us and brought the check. Love this place for a drink before a flight. They only serve wine as far as I could tell so this isn't gonna be a place for cocktails or beer. But a great selection of wine to drink and buy at the airport? Love love love. They offer light meals like soups, salad and cheese/charcuterie plates. It compliments the ambience. I wish it was in every terminal, but Logan's A won. I also like their rewards program. I don't know that it will give me much in the long run since I don't travel that often, but the $2 wine tasting just for being a member is spot on. There are good Vino Volos, there are mediocre Vino Volos, and there are bad Vino Volos. This is a bad Vino Volo. Another review said it's a "[n]ice place to sit and relax." That might be the case when you can actually get a seat. Unfortunately, good luck finding a seat. The staff does a really an exceptionally poor job of rotating guests in an out, let people sit for ten, fifteen, twenty minutes reading in a busy airport restaurant, while guests pile up out the door. Then there's the food. I ordered the lamb meatballs. What I got were microwaved meatballs served on top of sauce. As is the case with poor-quality microwaves, the temperature of the meatballs was inconsistent, even within a single meatball. When I brought it up with the waiter, he shrugged me off with a "we don't have an oven." That may be true, but if you don't have an oven, then you modify your menu accordingly, focusing on salads, gourmet cold sandwiches, certain desserts, and other plates that don't require an oven, rather than selling plates at around $15 that have been nuked. I won't discuss the wine list, as that's been discussed ad nauseum in here. Suffice it to say that the wine list is the only reason this isn't a one-star review. I assume there are better food options in Terminal A. Hell, the Delta Sky Club has better food options. You would do well by going elsewhere. read more

This is really your best option at Terminal E. Friendly service and a wide range of wines makes for a convenient pre-flight stop. Food selection is decent and pretty tasty too. As with all airport food, it's kind of pricey for what it is. Menu offerings change every so often, so it's nice if you're a regular. I was not given any Brie or prosciutto like other poster pictures show. After asking how my food was and I staying my dislike, instead of trying to resolve the issue, waiter ignored me for the rest of my stay. Another waiter gave me my bill and swiped my card. Will not return. Do not come here for food, maybe only for wine. Go save some money and have bad airport food somewhere else.
