My husband and I stopped by Para Maria a couple of weeks ago when were in Boston for a weekend. We'd been walking around the Seaport District and Fan Pier Park but had some time before our next item on the itinerary. We thought a drink by the water sounded great. Para Maria is just across the street from a waterfront spot that is very popular, so they don't have unobstructed water views, but we knew the water was there. And on a hot summer day in mid-August, they had the big garage doors open to the outside. It felt like we were somewhere beautiful and relaxing on vacation. We took two seats at their very large bar (which was not very busy at all on a Friday in the afternoon) and ordered a couple of drinks. Mine was their Picosita (Lalo Tequila, Ancho Reyes, Mango, Jalapeno, and Tajin rim), which was perfect for a summer day. I'd love to return with a group, because their margarita pitchers come in lots of flavors/styles (classic, strawberry, lychee, guava, coconut, and spicy), and that would be a great thing to share with friends on the patio of the bar. We didn't eat on this occasion, but I'd be happy to return for more drinks and maybe a bite to eat next time! read more

Para Maria, a summer Saturday in Boston! This has been on my "foodie" bucket list for quite some time. Even though we just had drinks and an app here, I still would like to try and come back for their full menu. On a busy Saturday afternoon in Boston, walking around the Tall Ships, we stopped in at the Envoy hotel to use the restrooms. I remember this restaurant being here, but it's been quite some time. Since we could use a drink and some food, we saw 2 spots open up at the bar so we grabbed them. The place was packed! The outside was slammed. Plus, they had live music which was pretty cool. So, we decided to stay for a cocktail and an app. We ordered the guacomole which was good and I had their Clover Club cocktail, one that I have been meaning to try due to a competition bartending show on Netflix. The cocktail was excellent I had to order another. We didn't plan on staying long, but after meeting some new people and enjoying great conversations, we stayed for awhile. The bartenders looked pretty busy and very overwhelmed but they did the best they could. It was a great time! I know we will be back again for dinner or another time to try their full menu. This bar is in the lobby of the Envoy hotel in the seaport district of boston. They were having a little pop-up of women in sports and so they also have some theme drinks where some of the proceeds go towards a charity. My friend and I sat at the bar and it did take the bartenders a little while for them to come over and take our order and it was not when that busy. We got drinks to start. I had the Green legacy, which had Tito's, muddled cucumbers, simple syrup and lime juice. Garnished with a cucumber ribbon. I forgot what my friend had. And we both got the smash burgers that were surprisingly very tasty. They didn't ask how we would like it but it seemed to be cooked just the way I liked it. read more

Usually I'm not a big fan of hotel food. Para Maria is an exception. I stopped by for breakfast while staying at the Envoy Hotel. I ordered the Cuban breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was one of those sandwiches where no words had to be spoken. It was built perfectly and the taste was fantastic. While I wanted to eat every single crumb, it was too much food for me. I loved it, though. The restaurant was pretty quiet during the morning hours. Even if I wasn't a guest at the hotel, I'd come back to eat here. read more

Para Maria is located on sleeper Street on the first floor of envoy hotel, great hotel with beautiful views of Boston. The food was lackluster. The shrimp was swimming in a bath of oil and very salty and the amount of guac they gave you was definitely not enough for the chips. I think they could do much better. read more

Para Maria in Boston's Seaport District is a very cool spot in a great location. The vibe felt upscale, but not pretentious, and the staff and servers were very friendly and inviting. I visited late on a Friday night with a girlfriend, and it really was the perfect atmosphere to sit and chat over a glass of wine. However, I thought the food was just fine. I ordered the Pork Katsu Sandwich and my friend ordered the guacamole and grilled corn ribs. My sandwich was very tasty and the flavors were good, but the pork itself was hard as a rock! As soon as I picked it up, I could feel through the bread how overcooked the pork katsu was. It was so dry and felt like biting into a slab of cement. Although I was really disappointed in the execution of the entree, I still had a pleasant overall experience. This would not be my first choice of restaurant when visiting Boston, but if you're looking to sit and catch up with a friend over drinks, then Para Maria could be the spot for you. read more

Arriving in Boston this evening I decided to low key it by having dinner at the hotel restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, opening up to the water (the bartender nicely offered to close the sliding doors leading to outdoor dining if it was chilly). I tried the tuna tartar and the mussels. Tuna passable, mussels good -flavorful with sausage bites and charred tomatoes. A few things seemed slightly off - the plating of the mussels and a cloth napkins that had a rancid smell. Not the best if I'm googling "why would a napkin smell rancid" during a meal. I would eat at the bar again (maybe sans napkin?) if I were staying at the hotel but would not go out of way to return. read more

We sat outside and watched people go by and the vibe was so cool in the restaurant and the area by the water. ALL the food was delicious, even the Korean style fried chicken, so different, so good. I came for dinner on a weekday which was pretty empty at first. Service was way too slow and although our server was nice, he also seemed to disappear whenever I was actually looking for him. The price point Para Maria tries to pass as doesn't quite succeed but at least the food is good. Not good enough for me to pay to come here again, but I'd recommend it for a work lunch or dinner. Braised cauliflower main ($27): a little salty at first, but delicious otherwise. Kind of pricey for a giant cauliflower steak. Smoked tuna tartare ($18): so tasty I wish the portion had been bigger. Grilled street corn ($13): good street corn with a twist; I had to resist licking the spicy dust off my fingers, but also...easily made at home. One of my pet peeves is when the salsa to chip ratio is bad and it was really bad here. The salsa provided was only enough for half of the chips. I hate food waste, but I'd prefer more chips than less salsa. For $13, it wasn't anything special. Malta chocolate float ($13) was a light but chocolatey and malty way to end the meal. Not enough gelato for my liking, but I've never had a malt float before and I enjoyed it. read more

We only had breakfast. The eggs were made as I like them, over medium. The potatoes were crunchy and very tasty. Lots of bacon cooked just right, just crispy enough. My order also came with an English muffin that you got to butter, yourself, with a jar of jelly. All was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly, and they kept the coffee, coming. The envoy must be one of my favorite hotels. Somehow, they managed to keep this little secret right behind the check-in desk. I went today to go eat at the rooftop but upon getting there it's not quite how we used to be so not too much seating where you can like dine and they do have a short like lunch menu. But the delightful young lady instructed me that downstairs had a restaurant and they served brunch, so that's what I decided to do. The ambiance and the decor are so cute that it's a little spot where you can chill full bar, good music, lots of vibes. The menus are something freaking else. Everything is astronomy based, and you get to pick your food through zodiac signs. The drink menu is a little pricey, but they do have a full bar, and you can get whatever you want. They specialize in like tacos other than that there was like some salads, and honestly I can't really really remember quite what else I did take pictures of the menus so you can take a look at that. Of course it's Seaport so parking is scarce. I know that before you go anywhere. Our server was super cool, but it was weird that for a period of time, no one was nowhere to be found, and the place was pretty much empty. However, they were super sweet and really kind, so shout out to them. My fish tacos were absolutely freaking delicious. Whatever that sauce is that they put on it combined with that mango is delicious. I usually don't like cooked foods or fruits in anything that I eat. But this was definitely a great combination. The card in the assado tacos was okay, but it's definitely good worth it. Just for reference is $15 for the three little tacos you see here, but they do pack flavors, some do with that information as you will. read more

The food options were not only limited but most of the items that were shown in the website and Yelp were not available on the menu. Of the three items we tried only one was worth the trip. The tuna tartar was delicious, the shrimp ceviche was supposed to have a mango salsa which it did not. It tasted like overcooked shrimp in lemon juice and the wings were tasteless. We love coming to Para Maria! Chef Tatiana and her crew do an amazing job. My favorite is the salmon and my husband's is the whole fried fish. The chips and salsa are a great way to start out your meal. And don't forget to end it with the guava cheesecake. This restaurant is really fancy and has a really bright atmosphere. It is located on the first floor of Envoy Hotel and the inside is really spacious. I really enjoyed their drinks which had a lot of decoration like flowers and bubbles. The cocktails were really unique and really tasty. I really liked the food their which I got the pineapple baby ribs and mussels. I really recommend the baby ribs which was really tender and seasoned really well. Had breakfast at Para Maria after a night of staying at the Envoy. I have to say that I think that the avocado toast with smoked salmon was the best I've ever had. The toast was a great doneness and the avocado cut thin and fanned across it. It was perfectly ripe, buttery, and piled high with smoked salmon. I couldn't finish it. Never heard of the restaurant till I decided to come with a friend for Dine Out Boston, the menu was $41 per person. The food was tasty, I got the chicharrón empanadas and the chimichurri was the best I've ever had. Pictured is the Petit Filet which was also super tasty, the asparagus was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was super friendly, the noise level was low but they were playing really good spanish music. Only downside, we knew this was an upscale latin restaurant, but the website talks about getting an ice cold margarita and maybe we didn't read the drink menu correctly but there wasn't any specialty margaritas on the menu, I did end up getting a margarita and a my friend a spicy one so it's there if you ask! read more

Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its elegant decor and romantic atmosphere. Unfortunately, my overall dining experience did not live up to the initial impression. To start, the service was lackluster. Our waiter, even though it was not his fault, but he seemed to be the only server of the night while also bartending. Shows very poor management. Even though there was little to no crowd at this restaurant. Service was very slow, even though he was a nice waiter, it took 25 min to be checked on when we first arrived. The appetizers were unremarkable, and the entrees were underwhelming. The bbq ribs was particularly disappointing. Very strange bbq sauce on them. The desserts, while slightly better than the entrees, were not enough to save the meal. The churros were a little too sweet, and the chocolate sauce was nothing to rave about. The burger was the best thing on the menu by far. Although it was very messy, it was so delicious. Every other item, I could not see myself paying that high of a price point for. In conclusion, while Para Maria may have a lovely ambiance, the food and service were subpar. For the high price point, I expected much more from this restaurant. Let's start with the $20 margarita. I know inflation is bad, but it wasn't even good. As if Seaport needed another Mexican restaurant...? Every other Mexican restaurant in Seaport's margaritas are no more than $12 and taste way better. $5 for one bland taco with dark meat? I felt I was getting food poisoning as I was eating the taco, given the green slime they put on it. The $10 guacamole looked like it was freshly squeezed out of a tube of fake guacamole you can probably buy somewhere. You have be a gullible tourist to eat here. I strolled in on Friday night to this terrific new hotel bar. It's directly across from the barking crab at the envoy hotel. The cuban music lured me in! We had late evening plans in Seaport and this was such a nice quiet place to stop in for dinner. It was a little difficult to find because it was inside of a hotel and we didn't notice any signage. Upon walking in it felt really cozy with the simple Christmas decor and dim lights. I started off with a Fresa Bubble which was a really fun drink and topped with a bubble that you can pop. The dishes aren't large so I suggest ordering a few to share and the one large dish we got also was good for one person. My favorite was the Grilled Street Corn, it's on the hotter side but I can handle mild and the kick gave it great flavor. read more

Hi, I am writing to encourage individuals to not go to Para Maria. We dined there 6/26/25 as a party of 8. The food was terrible. The fish of the day was very dry and we had to add multiple lemons to be able to eat it; it was also very bland and lacked flavor. The birria empanadas did not taste like birria; the empanada crust was very thick; meat lacked flavor; and birria sauce didn't taste like birria. We were celebrating a special family reunion which I put in the notes when I made the reservation on Open Table. No one acknowledged our reunion or made us feel special. I even told our waitress and she said nothing. The worst part is that our waitress dropped silverware as she was clearing the table. It went to my back. Only by the grace of God, the knife landed horizontal. Otherwise, the knife could have landed vertically and stabbed me. I ate here once several years ago and it was great. This time was terrible and the last time. Please go elsewhere! read more
