    Martini flight
    Rosemary S.

Having been to woods hill pier a few times and loving it, I wanted to try this spinoff out. The martini flight was really fun, with a classic, spicy, and sweet drink. Tuna crudo was delicious though the portion was on the smaller side. Focaccia and the charcuterie were surprisingly large if you're hungrier. Decor was nice but not as cohesive as woods bill pier next door. The staff was awesome and super knowledgeable about the menu.

This is a cool restaurant with a really nice patio. I loved the waterfront view and the sunset view I go dining here. I tried the dry aged flat iron, mackerel, baby romaine, and pigs foot. To drink I got the farmers choice and for dessert I got the s'mores sundae. The highlight of the meal was definitely the dessert. All the dishes were beautifully presented, I think the sundae was just the best. The server was also very nice and helpful.

We heard of this new spot opening and popped in. We were able to get two seats at the bar right away, the hostess was very friendly and we had an amazing bartender who did everything in her power to make sure we had a great experience: she even helped with some allergies that we had and did a special order with the chef. Absolutely amazing charcuterie set up, they slice the meat fresh in front of you and have a very curated and unique menu. We got the salmon tiradito and it was amazing. Definitely need to check it out even if it's just for a drink and some light bites.

Great service in a brand new restaurant. Enjoyed a seasonal cocktail and the tomato salad. Employee vibes were very high and great to see.

Ambiance is nothing less than what you'd expect from a wood hills restaurant. Service was good and the food was tasty. We went around 5:30 during the earlier part of the evening. The place wasn't busy and we sat at the bar. As I mentioned, service was good, but not great from what I'm used to at wood hills pier 4. Maybe it's cause we sat at the bar? Not sure. My only complaint is the price of the food here. Maybe I'm just comparing it to wood hills pier 4, but you don't get much for what you dish out. I might be returning, but only if wood hills is busy and I can't get in. I do still think they're in the earlier stages being so new, so if I do happen to go back, I'll update my review. Was really conflicted between a five and 4 star, but if wood hills pier 4 is a five star, I can't give the block five just yet.

We celebrated my husband's birthday at The Block and I'm so glad we picked this restaurant for the occasion. The decor is beautiful, it's modern, hip, moody, the music they were playing was awesome, it fit right in with the decor. The food was amazing! The charcuterie was phenomenal, pig's ear tots genius, the crudo and ceviche tasty, and I highly recommend the coconut sorbet for dessert. So good. Our server, Carlos, was very attentive and friendly. Everyone at The Block really cares about your experience. I'm already looking forward to going back and taking some friends with us.

This is the $29 steak that the manager tried to berate us over.

Had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here. Everything started out fine. Service was a bit slow, but not a big deal, and our waiter was nice. The food was decent (small plates/tapas style). All of our dishes came out quickly--except the hanger steak, which never arrived. We finished eating everything else, even joking that the steak might end up being our "dessert." After waiting quite a while, we finally asked about it. The waiter told us it would be ready in 3 minutes but also offered (on his own, without us asking) to remove it from the bill since we were already done eating. We agreed, thanked him, and were actually talking about how much we enjoyed dinner up to that point. Then, out of nowhere, the manager stormed over with the plate of steak in her hands, looking irritated, and said: "So do you want this now or to go? Because you ordered it and it WILL be on your bill." We were shocked by her tone. When we tried to clarify that the waiter himself had offered to remove it, the manager essentially accused us of lying, saying, "That's not what I was told." She went on to lecture us as though we were trying to scam a free dish. The condescension, body language, and overall hostility were humiliating. We're working professionals with busy schedules and we hadn't seen each other all summer, and what should have been a joyful reunion dinner ended with us being berated over a $29 steak (which for the record I hope that tiny portion of steak - see photo-was worth it for her to speak to us like that). (Btw the manager had already packed it to go- it's not like we even wanted it at that point. What could've been a nice dinner turned into one of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had. The view was nice--but not nice enough to make up for being treated this way.

Fantastic dining experience from the moment we walked in, greeted, seated, menu design, beautifully presented dishes, teas, cocktails and very creative and good service. Definitely go.

Whether you are stopping in for fresh seafood, handcrafted sushi rolls, high-end prime steaks, vibrant plant-based dishes, or simply sandwich and fries for lunch, the kitchen caters effortlessly to diverse palates and dietary preferences. The food was absolutely delicious. The Hot Baked Crab Dip is an absolute must-order. Most importantly, the server was very attentive and the food was served really quick, especially given the size of our group.

We were seated immediately, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and Sarah, our waitress, was top-notch--friendly, helpful, and genuinely delightful. We started with the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, which were so yummy. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Dynamite Roll and absolutely loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. I had the Vegetarian Power Bowl, and it was one of those meals you remember long after the trip is over. Since Moxies was just a few steps from our hotel, we thought it would be the perfect place for lunch before heading back to Arizona. We were offered a table inside or on the second-floor patio, and we chose the patio. Maybe that was our mistake. From the moment we sat down, it felt like a completely different restaurant. The atmosphere was very casual, but unfortunately so was the service. Our waitress was forgetful, clueless, and at times borderline disrespectful. Our food arrived completely cold after apparently sitting for over 30 minutes, yet there was no acknowledgment of the delay--not even a simple apology. I honestly couldn't believe this was the same place we had raved about the night before. If I were reviewing only our dinner, this would be an easy 5 stars. But I can't ignore what happened the next day. Maybe we were just unlucky. Maybe the patio has a different rhythm than the dining room. I really don't know. I just wish our last memory before heading back to Arizona had been as wonderful as our first.

It was a Sunday night and we didn't feel like going far for a meal. That's when we put the voucher to use as the Capiz is in the lobby of the hotel. We went for an early dinner. Walking into the restaurant, no one was there to greet us and there was no host stand. Finally, a server (who also turned out to be our server) told us to pick where we wanted to sit. We chose a four-top table. When it was time to order, we were dealing with a limited menu. I chose lobster quesadillas, which were listed under "appetizers". My husband chose the fish and chips. The quesadilla was sloppily made. Some pieces had hardly any cheese or lobster in them. Other pieces were overloaded with lobster and cheese. While it was all edible and the lobster was properly cooked, it still was underwhelming. My husband said the fish was well prepared, flaky and crispy at the same time. There were too many French fries, making the plate a bit messy. In a pinch, Capiz did fit the bill as we didn't feel like going far for a meal that day.

I would not recommend this for the $$$, spend it somewhere else in Seaport! We arrived within the 15 minute grace window for our 9:15pm reservation. We were greeted promptly and kindly by the hosting staff! Our party was sat considerably quickly for a Friday night reservation, as the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Our server greeted us and offered to take our drink orders. The drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, alcoholic and nonalcoholic alike. The Sangria is poor quality.... So I would advise to stay away. Our drink and food order was put in at the same time, however our food took an hour and half to come. Not only did it take that long to come, every single dish arrived lukewarm and purely cold. After asking the server to take it back, it took an additional 25 minutes to return to the table. Unfortunately, all of my friends were pretty much done and watching me eat my food only. The ambiance is pretty aesthetically pleasing, nice interior and great vibe. That's what is unfortunately bumping this up from a one star review. Our server was tolerable. She didn't seem too interested and was just rude when simply discussing our experience. Taking pictures with the skyline outside was the highlight of our visit! We will most definitely not be returning to this establishment. Our experience was really disappointing, and my friends are visiting out of state from California, and they are getting on a plane with almost food poisoning. Very disappointed...
