While traveling through Columbus airport, I was too early for my flight and REALLY hungry. I am not so much a fan of the airport food out of a machine and have always wanted to try Vino Volo as they are in many major airports. Wow! I am now hooked. They have a very solid menu with tons of various wines to match with. Wine and margarita flatbread for breakfast? You betcha!! It was fantastic AND delicious. No more Chili's or Donato's. I am all in at every airport Vino Volo that I come upon. The staff was helpful in making recommendations and very attentive. It is a must visit and I will make every effort to get to my airports early so I can enjoy a nice glass of wine before my flight. It sure makes flying less stressful! read more

Honestly so terrible. I sat down, no one welcomed me or said anything to me so I waited. No one came up. Went to the bar, got told they come to us and then waited another 20 minutes. Finally got served after turning around and staring at someone but they forget my water. There's no where else to really go in this concourse so I'd stayed and didn't have anyone checking in on me. You probably have no choice to go here but just sit at the bar if you do. Maybe they will pay more attention. The drinks were not great either. read more

I asked if I could order at the bar and was told by staff they will come over. I watched as "my waiter" continued look around and clean glasses. Another 10mins passed and he finally came over. Ordered a flight which was good and reasonably priced but took another 30mins to flag him down to get the check. Kept being told he would be right over. I had to make a fast turnaround trip to CMH. I did my research ahead to make sure I could have somewhere to grab a gluten free meal when my flight landed at 7:30. Apparently, their posted hours are only for the bar. The KITCHEN closed before I landed. This very odd happening messed me up. I'm sad because this is the one spot that actually had good reviews both in, and near the airport, for those needing gluten free. Unsure why you'd close the only decent kitchen in the building so early, and I found out it's also a super busy weekend for this airport. read more

We visit family in Ohio maybe 2-3 times a month and we always stop at Vino Volo because they make the best croissant breakfast sandwiches. I always order an espresso and forget that this place does not serve that and I am not quite sure why. It looks like it should have espressos. They do serve espresso Martinis, regular coffee, canned local beers and wine. That would be lovely if they served espresso in the future. Vino Volo used to be an awesome place to go. I remember multiple pages of wines and wine flights, and delicious food. Then Covid happened and like everywhere else, they use that as an excuse to suck and provide lackluster options and less choices. I do like that if you're a member of their club, you can try a special wine for $2 for a tasting. It's a pretty good deal actually. They have a page of wines (red, white, sparkling and rose), a beer or two, and that's about it. There used to be more of a selection and it seemed different at different places, but I think this flight was exactly the same I had 6 months ago. On this visit, the kitchen was closed, but I still wanted a wine flight (California Kings) which was good. When the woman checked on my halfway through the flight, I asked for my check so when I was done, I could leave and go grab some food. Well, I finished my wine and still no check! Then I see her tell the other server she'll be right back! WTF? Anyway, the other waitress saw my distress and rung me up. If the kitchen was open, I probably would have had another flight or a full glass of one of the Reds and a decent meal without waiting in another line. The pandemic is an excuse too many places are using. In an airport terminal where there aren't many choices, do what it takes to serve the uptick in passengers. Nearly every person that came it wanted food too, many left without getting anything. Had they paid someone to come in, they would have easily made up for it just in the time I was there. read more

Generic, can find it anywhere, dining location in the middle of an eh at best airport terminal comes together to provide a forgettable experience that left me wishing there were more options to choose from. At around 9a this place was bustling and busy as can be. I found myself a two-seater pub style table in the back corner of the restaurant. The server was very friendly, greeting me and bringing a water over while I perused the menu. After deciding on a local IPA (no taps here, everything is can/bottle) I then went on to review their breakfast menu, which is served all day here. I went with the Sunrise Flatbread, no meat, add avocado and roasted tomatoes. What arrived were...fine. Two small(ish) flatbreads with egg, creme fresh, avocado, cheese, and roasted tomatoes. The flatbread was doughy and not crisp and the flavors were passable. When my check arrived I definitely felt it was NOT worth the $22 price tag. Suffice it to say that I ended up at Vino Volo because it was the only thing opened while I was in the airport, otherwise I would have opted for pretty much anywhere else. The service was great but not even the good and attentive service could overcome the sub-par food and ridiculous price tag. This was my first experience at a Vino Volo and will most likely be my last if I have my choice. read more

This was a decent place to kill time before boarding. I sat at the bar and I was greeted. His first question was can I get you a bottle of water? Not a complimentary glass, but I probably could have asked that. I relented to the bottle of Fuji because I needed one to refill before my flight and hadn't brought my own bottle. I ordered a glass of Riesling, and enjoyed it while reading until it was time to go. My bill: $16 for the wine (I only had 1 due to high price) and the bottle of Fuji was $3.75. Sigh, airport prices. FYI, I heard another customer ask for a glass of water after the initial bottle offer. He got one without question. read more

The fact that I did not eat breakfast or lunch before this meal May be affecting the quality of my review, but this is some of the best airport food I've had in a while. I got the chicken BLT which although could definitely use more bacon ( for a BLT there was like 2 pieces on a big sand which), was really good! The chicken was very tender and had good flavors. My only complaint is that the pesto is a bit misleading. The sand which is very mild on the pesto. I could've split the San which with someone, it was a great size! Worth the price for some good airport munches. read more

I just experienced an interaction with possibly the worst bartender ever. Unable to smile, or say 'hello', or say 'what would you like'. We sat down right in front of him, looked him in the eye, waited in vain for him to speak. After an awkward silence I finally asked if he is a bartender, he replied 'yes' and continued to give me the blank, 'I don't care' look. It didn't get any friendlier after that. Great example of extraordinarily poor service. One would almost have to try to come across as such an uncaring, incompetent employee. If you are unable to smile or speak to people you probably should find a new job. read more

Really nice place, however I got bad advice. I had a glass of wine, paid my bill in order to make my boarding time. As I was leaving, the server offered me another glass. I declined as I was headed to the gate to board. She talked me into another $16 glass of wine in a to go cup(which I thought was brilliant!). She assured me it was allowed on board. 5 mins later, as I was boarding, Southwest informed me it was not allowed and I had to toss it in the trash! I did ask Southwest flight attendants to inform the staff of the policy. Ugh! read more

I'm super glad this is an option by the Southwest gates because a wine bar is infinitely better than Chili's... I stopped in here when I had some time to kill and ordered a salad and glass of wine to pass the time. I enjoyed my food and wine, though everything was a few dollars more than it should have been. Airport excuse, I suppose. I'm also really glad I wasn't in a hurry because service was a little slower than I would have expected. I also had to sit next to the most annoying person ever while at the bar, which isn't their fault, I realize. All part of the experience, right? (Other food options include chili Togo and donatos but strangely I was not in the mood for pizza). Food - good options including soups salads and sandwiches. I had the Brie prosciutto sandwich for $14 (standard airport prices) which came with two gherkin pickles and I really liked it! Would get it again even outside the airport. Drinks - didn't have any with my brunch but they were $$$$$. Mimosa was $14. Looks like they had a good selection of wine but I would prolly opt with sharing a bottle with a friend. Vino Volo changed my very bad day of travel cancellations & delays to being more bearable. This location is located in the Columbus, OH airport in the Delta/Southwest Terminal. It's a quaint space with a bar & tables. I love that you can get flights of wine here. I'm learning new wines so it gives you the opportunity to taste & discover your likes & dislike. They also provide the wine's name & bottle price on the flight, which is extremely helpful. I ordered the Rose Flight. It was light & delicious. For you champagne lovers it's just the right about of bubbly & a light blend of red fruit for a touch of sweetness but not too much. My favorite was the Oregon, which happened to be the cheapest & sweeter if the 3 but the others were good but a little more tart for my taste. The Mixed Green Salad was really light & refreshing, as well. I liked the addition of Pumpkin Seeds, Craisons, & Goat Cheese. I was able to add Smoked Salmon to this dish & I was so glad I did. It was so tender & flavorful & not too cold or warm. The temperature was just right for this cool salad. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking to relax before a long flight.
