My husband is a frequent business traveler and recommended that we lunch at Vino Volo when we found ourselves at MCO airport at lunchtime. He noted that it is usually quieter than many other spots and we found this to be the case, a nice respite from the surrounding chaos. As I perused the wine list I was pleased to see Fess Parker Chardonnay, as we recently visited the tasting room in Los Olivos, CA. However they also had a Chenin Blanc, which I have not had in a while. Torn, I was then delighted to see that there was a "Shades of White" option which allows one to taste both of those plus Sauvignon Blanc! Decision made. To accompany the white wine flight I chose a sandwich of melted Brie, prosciutto, arugula and fig jam on telera bread. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and paired well with the wines. The Fess Parker was definitely my favorite of the trio. The sandwich was accompanied by a small arugula salad. A delightful experience, enhanced by our friendly and knowledgeable server. read more

Vino Volo is the nicest restaurant in Concourse B of the Orlando Airport. We seated ourselves (per the sign) and our server greeted us quickly. This was really good for "airport food." Located right in terminal b at MCO by gates 70-79. A nice selection of different wines and a small menu with various food offerings. My boyfriend and I had a glass of moscato which was $15 each. Not terrible at all. It was also very good. For my meal I had the prosciutto and Brie sandwich. It also had fig jam and arugula on it. It was so so so good! The bread was slightly toasted. It was perfect. My boyfriend had the braised short rib. It game with garlic mashed potatoes and peas. He said it was really good. For our two meals and two glasses of wine it came to $77 including tax, before tip. Not bad at all for airport prices. Would definitely stop here again while waiting for our flight. read more

I was hungry in the terminal so I decided to grab a bite to eat here. Ambience was very nice. Waitstaff did an okay job, but could've been a little friendlier. Food was mediocre and overpriced. I got the cavatappi four cheese pasta with chicken. I didn't taste four cheeses; it tasted like store bought mac n cheese. Bland sauce and average pasta. The chicken was well seasoned and tasted pretty good, but for the price I would've liked a bigger portion. On a side note: Plastic cutlery? Really? I was going to order the chocolate tuxedo cake. You can get either caramel sauce or raspberry sauce. I chose raspberry and was told that they were out of it, but I could have it plain if I didn't want caramel. I opted to just pay my tab and leave. High price for food that is decidedly meh. If you're into wine then you might have a better experience, but I myself will not be coming back. read more

I really liked stopping in here ! As someone traveling alone I wanted to be able to sit and have a drink and a snack without being in full view of everyone entering the terminal. Very very great place! Gates 70 up in Terminal B. The food... delicious.. the presentation , the taste, the quality , the amount (very filling). The service... excellent (shout out to Gabby) prompt, personable, helpful, and all by her lonesome. Stellar. The food options were tasty and the wine selections, very good. There was even a "taste all 3" option for wine in a few categories, for the undecided, which I thought was neat (Reds, Whites, Roses) shorter pours but good for a taste, nevertheless. The location was in an alcove type space so you kinda can forget you're in an airport. I ordered the Mediterranean Plate, which was delicious with warm pita bread, Tzatziki, cucumbers, goat cheese, olives and other tasty selections. I added chicken as a protein. Tender and juicy. Great addition to the meal. Overall great experience and a healthier option, IMO than the alternative Outback or Bahama Breeze, Nathan's and Burger King that share the terminal. Also a great value. I always love a Vino Volo moment in the airport, and I was really impressed with the service here today! I had a bit of time before my flight and decided to grab a glass of wine and a flatbread here. You can seat yourself either at the bar or at tables. A server came over right away and helped me pick out my glass of wine. I got a glass of sauvignon blanc and the margherita flatbread. The wine was perfect! It was a great temperature and a solid pour. The flatbread was just ok. I thought it was a little too saucy and there were pieces with barely any cheese on it. Excellent service and food. My server Gabriela explained that they specialize in wine tasting flights, and she recommended a good white wine flight from Italy and a prosciutto and brie sandwich. I'm pretty new to wine, so Gabriela also helped me with tips on how to taste wine - it will help when I go to Napa in a few weeks! The prosciutto and brie sandwich was delicious, with a perfect balance of savory and sweet with the fig jam. I loved the tiny pickles that came with it too. Though their venue is small, it's quite comfortable, and we ordered: + Chateau Laroque 2014 Tasting (2 oz) $2.00 + Bonterra Chardonnay $17 + Caposaldo Pinot Grigio $12 + Butchers Board Charcuterie (to go) $23 The wines were excellent, the Laroque was fantastic ($77 a bottle if you want to take one home)! We brought the Butchers Board Charcuterie on our flight, and likely had the best meal of anyone aboard. We ate in our Delta Comfort Plus seats, which aren't really that comfortable, but better than economy (which should be called steerage class). I am a frequent flyer, and I've had the pleasure of visiting several Vino Volos. Hands down, this one is very bad. It could have been the fact that it's a Friday and people are tired. Or it's the fact that the one person on the shift has some racial biases, struggles with wiping down tables and of course, greeting the customers that ultimately pay her salary. Viva la Vino Volo! Yolo so give it a try when flying out of this terminal. I typically can only get here when flying Delta not super early in the morning. There may be other airlines in the terminal, but I'm not sure. The staff at this location was great. The wines vary which is nice so you're not getting the same stuff every time. They offer wine flights so you can try different things. They even show the bottles of the flights in the display. If you travel a lot, you'll notice Vino Volo is in a number of airports (Some airports even have 2). Definitely download the app and don't forget to scan your receipt every time. The atmosphere is a bit more serene than the rest of the airport, including the other restaurants. I don't typically order food although I do get a complementary "Bite" with the reward club. If you like wine, or like trying different wines, their flights are definitely something to consider. It's not like Starbucks is serving up Coffee Flights or Burger King is handing out Whopper Flights. read more

I stopped by here because I was early for my flight back to Boston. I had been good all vacation (no booze), so decided to treat myself before flying home. I started with the mimosa flight which included smaller portions of strawberry, orange and peach mimosas. They were pretty good and I enjoyed the presentation. I decided to have 1 more glass before heading to my gate. The server/bartender was visiting from another location and he was super nice. I knew I wanted a white wine, but I wasn't sure which. He let me taste a couple before making a recommendation. I really appreciated that as I was able to get a glass of something I actually enjoyed. I don't think he was supposed to let me taste, but without his kindness, I would have morosely suffered through my wine. I forget his name, but I think he was visiting from PA. Fun little stop at the airport while waiting for our flight. I truly appreciate being able to have a good glass of wine while in the airport versus cheap stuff that is not nearly as enjoyable to sip. They really do have a fantastic selection of varietals. This place is never crowded, but all other restaurants/bar are, so this is always my choice when flying through thus airport. This facility has 11 high top tables for two. Two regular tables that seat 4. 7 chairs at the bar. They have handicap seating as well so those in wheelchairs may sit at the bar! I had a few hours until my flight and it was great to sit and have some drinks and lunch. The wine flights are really fun, I had the bubbly one and the prosecco was my favorite, needless to say I ordered a glass. The Mediterranean plate was SO GOOD! Their hummus was delicious and creamy, and also came with marinated feta and olives. It was a great snack for traveling. My flight got delayed and the Delta Sky Club was full, so I stopped by Vino Volo for a drink. I sat at the bar and service was friendly and prompt. Had a 3 hour delay and this was the best place in the terminal to kill time. We each ordered a wine flight (I went with the Christmas Cabernets) and every pour was absolutely delicious. I love that they have a little print out with information on the wine under each glass. We ended up splitting the goat cheese+hummus, the burrata and some sort of Thanksgiving crostini. The goat cheese was probably my favorite, very rich and coated in herbs. The hummus and burrata were also good, nothing out of the ordinary. I didn't love the thanksgiving dish - it had a lot of different flavors going on and was a bit overwhelming. My husband, son, and I were headed back to Phoenix after a work trip in Orlando. We typically head straight to the Delta sky club for food, but since we had extra time, we decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant experience. In the Delta terminal, it is either this restaurant or Outback Steakhouse with a limited menu so the choice was easy to make. Upon arrival, the restaurant was not very busy and a gentleman who appeared to be the manager told us we could sit in a nice booth in the back since we had the baby. We thought that was very nice that he accommodated us. The menu was probably the best menu at an airport restaurant I have ever seen. Lots of healthy options with great ingredients and I was shocked, I couldn't even choose. I narrowed it down to the bagel with lox or the chopped salad with chicken. I opted for the latter. My husband ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich. They had both breakfast and lunch options. We didn't experience any of the wine, but I loved that they offered flights of wine, rosé, and champagne. I also loved that they had the walls lined with wine bottles that you can purchase. It was fun to look at their wine selection while we were waiting for our food. We needed to make our baby a bottle while we were there and our server gave us in Fiji water. It ended up on the tab, but that was fine. The food was yummy, perfect portions, the prices were average/airport food prices, and the service was good. Kitchen closed at 5:40 per the server. It is now 6:45 and no sign letting anyone know. This is the 7th busiest airport in the country and no food during the dinner hour seems like bad mgt. Crazy and ridiculous. While the wine selection is great I don't see how they can't serve food with 2 servers and a person in the back on the clock. I am itching to give this place a 3.5 to be nice because the ambiance was beautiful. I would never expect this kind of place to exist in an airport but it does. The moment I came across this place during my what I call "layover" in Orlando (missed a flight in MIA and ended up driving to Orlando to catch a new flight to Pittsburgh) ...it was like a golden light shined around it because given my appreciation for wine and authentic Italian cuisine (both paired together) and my yearning for a nice glass of wine after the ordeal I went through to book that new flight...Vino Volvo was like an answer to a prayer (lol). For the aesthetic, it was beautiful. Definitely not airport material. Now, the wine selection...there were some good options. I recall seeing Orin Swift on there and Rombauer and Paul Hobbs (so some big names). Now ,I'm someone who doesn't drink wine for the sheer heck of it. I actually enjoy learning about how the wine is produced, the climate in which it's produced, and the terrain in which it's produced (so for me it's a whole experience). I see it, sniff it, swirl it, sip it, etc. and I don't wish to waste my hard earned dollars on something that is mediocre. So I ultimately settled on a full bodied California red. I am a huge fan of New World wines so that would due. As for the food, I decided to do a pesto chicken flatbread pizza with sundried tomatoes. Was it delicious? Slightly. Pairing it with the wine it brought out the flavors of the pizza more, but it wasn't out of this world. The reason why I took some other stars off was for the service. The bar server literally just threw the check down, didn't say thank you, and avoided eye contact with me. I felt like I was more of a nuisance than a guest. Yes, I'm a guest flying to another destination but I'm also a guest dining at your establishment which one should take pride in no matter what. For such an elegantly decorated place and nice menu, I was surprised at the service. And when I arrived it wasn't that busy. I feel bad that I am not giving rave reviews as I would prefer to do that, but I really was underwhelmed with the food and service. I ended up going to Vino Volvo again but at the Pittsburgh airport prior to departing back to Miami and that experience was much better in terms of service. They were friendly and helpful, especially when recommending wine. Either way, I'm glad I stopped by. Having a book to read while I was at the Orlando one helped. Would I go back? Maybe...depending on my mood and what I'm craving, but if you are just craving a glass of wine before flying... It's a good place to stop. I do recommend trying the chicken sandwich though over the pesto flatbread. Either way, it was enjoyable, but the service leaves much to be desired, at least at the Orlando location, not the Pittsburgh one. read more
