The pie is the best in Carson now that Adels is closed and gone, but recovery is not their strong suit. My order was forgotten then replaced then I was passed over three times by newly arriving customers before being served. One should not have to be bumptious. Then when I did get my order it was very nonchalantly placed down with a do you need anything else. 7:15 placed the order 8:46 receipt of said order. Not sure yet if I will return. We were trying to find a brick oven pizza place but none were open for indoor dining. We ended up at Vino's pizza and WOW!! The appetizer we had was jalapeño poppers and they were exquisite! The ranch is homemade so that's always a plus. The pizza itself is phenomenal. The crust is perfect. We got the Meat Cravers regular crust which is perfectly crispy yet chewy. The Parmesan cheese they offer is freshly grated! The little packets are also available. I saw the Fayette pizza after we ordered while perusing the menu so we got one to go. I had a piece later that evening and it was so darn good! We highly recommend this place, there's beers on tap and in bottles, plus many kinds of wines. On a road trip we drove through Carson city and found this place on Yelp. At first glance the decor and setting wasn't anything special but whatever was cooking smelled delish so we decided to see what all the good reviews were about. We sat at one of the 7 tables when you first walk in. We ordered a small pizza and 12 wings (6 hot and 6 BBQ) and it was perfect for two. The wings take about 20 minutes but totally worth the wait. I have eaten here before with my friends but I wanna talk about last night I was recently released from the hospital and friends of my husbands gave him gift cards to use here to make dinner for our family easier.....let me tell you, the staff that worked last night went above and beyond! They were super friendly and helpful and the food, omg it was delicious! This place definitely needs more hype! The Bella pizza is my fave but the Maui is amazing as well! You can just tell that the owners and staff really care about their food and how their customers are treated. The staff was friendly and hospitable, even a nice light conversation about Celiac Disease. If I had one complaint, it would be the price. $22 for a medium gourmet pizza is pretty steep. Yes, those on the GF fad are going to pay you that, but for those of us who don't have a choice, I'm not going to be a regular at this cost. We purchased a discount card from our local high school football team. Vino"s Pizza promised $5 off with purchase of $25 or more. We presented the card upon ordering. Waitress said she would apply the discount. Turns out she was clueless. However the owner refused to accept the card. All the other restaurants listed honored it but not Vino"s. We had gone to this restaurant numerous times over the years. But never will again. A lousy $5 discount to support high school athletes which he wouldn't honor. Gluten free crust was burnt tasting like charcoal . Took out 2 pizzas costing over $70. The unburned pizza was so-so at best. Upon calling them out on their charcoal special , someone (supervisor ) who wasn't even there tried telling us it wasn't burnt and they refuse to do anything about it. Lesson learned . How does this place stay open? Are the good people of Carson so easy that a even a place like Brugo's can exist. Where do I begin? Upon arrival we were met with, "we have no draught beer or fountain soda". I guess neither are important on a Friday night. Perhaps the owner should pay their beer and soda distributor bills. We sat alone in the "dining room" staring at a blank TV screen. When we asked "does the TV work?", we were met with a blank stare. Good thing we did not ask to sit outside as the waitress informed a couple that no tables were available outside. Reason? She didn't have the time to bus the multiple tables available. Funny with so few people here, she could not find the time. That one should be fired immediately as her attitude is awful. Why would you work in hospitality if you can't smile and work well with people? The pizza is AVERAGE, nothing special. Again, how does this place stay open? We will never return. Advice. This was our first time trying this pizza joint in Carson, which we found out about through our local radio station after winning a $25 gift certificate. We arrived a little before 30 minutes til closing 1/20/2019 and asked if we would still be able to dine in. After being greeted with genuine hospitality by the owner and welcomed to sit, we quickly placed our order of 12 hot wings and a large custom pizza with 4 toppings. We explained that it was our first time in and that we had driven from Reno through the crazy snow storm. The food: The wings were a good size but VERY salty. I may have an overly sensitized palate for salt but it was hard to get down more than a couple of wings. The pizza came out burnt around the edges (like really burnt - black char status) that negatively changed the flavor of the rest of the pizza. The general flavor was OK and I really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients/veggies. I thought I had gotten a few whiffs of cleaning product in my pizza but figured it must be from the mopping that had taken place as we were walking in. The kicker: When presented with the bill of $41.65, I pulled out my gift certificate (which I was told did not have an expiration date nor was there any date written on the expiration date line) and handed it to the server/owner. He looked at the certificate and responded with, "Wow, actually, we've already received more than the limit for these certificate. We told the radio stations to only give out 48 and maybe the stations are not communicating with each other but we already received more than 48 so we can't accept it. I'm sorry, we have tried to call the radio station but have not heard from them...maybe because it is the weekend." I was dumbfounded. I explained that I had just picked up the voucher on the 10th and that I had won it a few days after Christmas. We couldn't understand how this was possible. But, none of this mattered to the owner and he simply tried to remedy the situation by giving us a "manager's discount" of 20% off bringing our check down to $35.85. To avoid conflict and get back to our drive home through the snow, we paid our bill and left in disbelief. As a business that decides to advertise through radio stations by giving away gift certificates, not accepting OUR certificate just did not seem right. Was he implying that he was receiving counterfeits? Our gift certificate had an official looking sticker with a unique gift certificate number. Was there a possibility that Vino's had given the radio stations more than 48 certificates to begin with and decided 48 certificates were all they wanted to give away at some random point in time? Obviously, this does not make sense. And at what point did he hit the magic "48" limit and why didn't he contact the radio stations earlier (prior to this weekend)? Either way, a business needs to stand behind a mistake that may have been made on their part or by an affiliate, and insure a standard of service to their customers. I will definitely NEVER (yes never, and I don't use the term lightly) go back to this pizza joint. We have plenty of great pizza joints in Reno that are actually less expensive than Vino's. Take JJ's Pie Co. for example, for many of you Reno pizza connoisseurs, it could be considered a place to get a good quality pizza (or at least comparable to Vino's) at a higher price than your standard Papa Murphy's. Well, the price of a large custom pizza with 4 toppings is $24.70 at JJ's compared to $26.95 at Vino's ($14.95 for large pizza base plus $3.00 PER TOPPING - that's insane!). Save yourself your time, money, and gas! (Just your time and money for everyone in Carson, sorry). read more

So delicious! I am a total pizza snob (it's probably my most favorite food) and Vinos did not disappoint. We had the chicken supreme pizza and our girls had a meatball pizza. Both were sooo good, with tons of toppings and flavor. We also had the turkey balsamic salad which was amazing (Tip - get extra balsamic to put on top of your pizza). We sat on the cute little patio and our waitress was so sweet, my husband had his service dog and she brought him water without us even asking. Great service and value, nice venue and amazing food. Really amazingly delicious gluten free pizza! Definitely not cheap but you can tell how fresh all the ingredients are. I frequently feel sick when I eat gluten free pizza at other places, but my body really tolerates it from here. I highly recommend anything with sausage! Their ranch that you can get on the side is super tasty and not the gross bottled stuff too! Vino is so nice he even delivered to me at the hospital right at closing when I got admitted really late! I don't know if it was Uber Eats that caused this difficulty, but ordering a pizza at 12:30 p.m and finally getting it 2 hours later has ONE definite outcome, the food is not going to be hot or cooked properly. And when I say "cooked properly", that's because it was stuck under hot lamps or a warming oven to keep warm for over an hour. I've got Uber Eats screenshots of 8 different estimated time of arrivals. The meal, after delivery, cost me close to $50.00. Again, was the blame on Uber Eats for not providing a driver or Vino's for consistently over warming already cooked food? Either direction, Uber Eats won't be used again. Possibly Carson City just isn't a big enough city to host an Uber chain. And since the food didn't taste right due to long time overwarming, I'll have to start dealing with a new pizza location until they figure out what they're going to do. In the last three years, I've written a lot of words about pizza. Pizzas from diners, pizzas at coffee shops, pizzas in bars, pizza from food trucks, and pies from traditional pizzerias. The best always start with a cherished family recipe or two, and Bru-Go's Pizza Co. is just such a place. The shop is cozy, with indoor seating for perhaps 30 and about as much on the patio. The decor is fairly modern, with rough-hewn rock textures and a series of paintings color-coordinated with the light fixtures. A distraction from otherwise pleasant surroundings, classic rock house music was competing with hip hop jams coming from the kitchen. Halfway through our visit someone realized this was a mashup made in hell and sacrificed the sounds of the '70s for the chef's favorite jams. Notified that chicken wings take a while, my wife put in an 12-piece order right after being seated ($11.95). I arrived about twenty minutes later--perused the menu for another ten--and put in an order for a set of six-inch personal pizzas so we could sample a few of the house specialties ($11.95 each). The wings showed up at least ten minutes after that. The wings were definitely baked, which at least partly explains the 40 minute wait. Deep-fried wings require a third the time and--I believe--are superior in texture and flavor, but I will say these were about as good as baked wings are ever going to be. They were cooked through and not overly mushy or rubbery. Definitely not a standard "Buffalo" sauce, this ample bath of spiciness had hints of garlic and oregano mixed in with a not-unpleasant amount of salt, finished with a perfect amount of kick that leaves your lips sizzling without killing your palate for pizza. Thirty minutes post-wings it was pizza time. The Big Combo was a classic mix of pepperoni, Chicago-style Italian sausage, red onion, bell pepper, mushroom, black olive, mozzarella, and roasted red sauce. I'm not sure what was roasted, but the sauce was just as tasty as that on the wings. The crust was thick but not too bready, with a nicely crisped foundation. Perfect for holding up all those ingredients. Joe's Sicilian Meatball Pizza featured the same crust--the meatballs are a recipe of Joe's Sicilian grandmother--with that great red sauce, mozzarella, red onion, bell pepper, and mushroom. Grandma apparently knew her way around a meatball. They had nice flavor and texture, neither tough or too squishy. A really good, classic slice of pizza. The name alone drew me into ordering the Finding Nemo Scampi Pizza, with sundried tomato, artichoke heart, roasted garlic, asiago and mozzarella cheeses, creamy garlic white sauce, and itty-bitty garlic butter sauteed shrimp, all atop a crispy thin crust. The tomato was candy sweet, but the combination with all the savory flavors worked surprisingly well. Shrimpy goodness. The Cefalu pizza--named for a coastal town in Sicily--is from yet another family recipe. Olive oil and parmesan cheese are worked into dough which is then rolled quite thin. Topped with a very sparse amount of onion, tomato, garlic, pesto, and sauteed bits of mushroom, the primary flavor at work is the unique crust. Despite the lack of much on top, it's definitely worth repeating. There are salads and sandwiches and other stuff on the menu, and I'm definitely planning a return visit to try their rotolo baked sandwiches. I'll just know to bring a book next time, and perhaps headphones. read more
