This company is only focused on making money on new construction homes and has zero interest is customer service or a quality product. I built new with QBH. We are very happy with the home but the builder made us use Vintage. You could find electricians and alarm install companies that could do a better job for a fraction of the cost. They charged us nearly $2500 just to run coaxial and Rj-45 cable in our home. They wanted another almost $5000 to wire the doors and windows. It's a scam between builders and Vintage. All the Vintage reviews say that they'll sell you a product and good luck ever getting an actual technician or customer support to help you after you move in. This is exactly what happened to us. They told it would be THREE weeks before we could have someone out. I instead bought my own switch, wires and did the hookup myself. I would NEVER recommend this company and if your builder makes you, fight them or walk away from builder. read more

Our Security System stopped working suddenly. We called the Vintage Security main number late in the day and they answered, took my information and had one of the technicians call me right back. The technician had us try a couple things over the phone and he determined that the wall panel had completely stopped working. He advised us to call in the morning to make an appointment for service. The next day, we had no trouble getting an appointment however it was for the following week because of the Holidays, which we fully understood. However, since they determined that because the wall panel wasn't working, that our alarm system and smoke alarms would not be monitored, they were kind enough to do some schedule rearranging, and called us back to schedule a next-day appointment! The next day, not only was the Tech on time, but he was early. The Tech, Tony, replaced the panel, was very thorough and super patient as we asked him a hundred questions about the new panel. Since we are "seniors" and not super high-tech knowledgable, he had to explain some things a couple of times. We couldn't have been happier with the whole experience! Absolutely disgusted with this business. They do not review the contract in their entirety and then lock you in for a lengthy time only to have all the equipment quit working soon after installation. We requested servicing of the equipment and now they want an additional $150 to come fix something that only worked short-term. Customer service was rude and not willing to assist over the phone. We had Vintage for our new construction and they have done a terrible job. Here is the first two weeks since we moved in: First, they installed window sensors for an alarm but didn't close the window. Second, they installed door sensors too far apart so the alarm went off for no reason. Third, until I complained they were going to come out a week later. Fourth, the HDMI panel they wired doesn't properly work and was installed so far from the wall that the TV won't sit flush on it. Fifth, they tried to bill $600 for monthly monitoring all at once. Sixth, they installed WAPs before Verizon hooked up the internet and never came back afterwards to configure them or show anyone how to access them. I am so sorry we used them, and will never use them for anything that we do not have to. read more

Vintage was the security buisiness that my builder used when we purchased our new house. Unfortunately for them, I do not come into the smarthome and security business blind. I am very familiar with all the options out there. I honestly do not know why anyone would use a company like Vintage when there are MUCH cheaper systems out there that you can install yourself. It costs THOUSANDS to install a have way decent system from Vintage and then you are locked into monitoring for $45 per month if you want smart home intigration. You can easily install a COMPLETE home security system from Simplisafe or Ring for $400 to $800. With Ring, the system I went with, you pay $100 per YEAR for monitoring and that gives you complete smart home integration, and 7 days of recording from unlimited security cameras. Everything very easy to install and completely wireless. You can even add a video door bell and control everything with Amazon Alexa or Google Home. read more

i was a customer for 15 years, in the last couple of years the service degraded to the point it was no longer acceptable. i had constant false alarms and could not get service to come fix it. i had a 15 year old key pad they said was as good as they have. Customer service made it difficult to cancel and was rude when they realized i was serious and would not be sold. The final bill included the entire time i was trying to cancel, happy to pay it not to talk to them again. Too many other options from nicer smarter modern companies. read more

I have used Vintage Security for some time. I think the system was installed 8-9 years ago. The company has changed the way they take calls and set up service calls, and it is beyond frustrating. You have to call a number, wait online for someone to take the call who then puts you on hold to check, and then transfers your call to a voicemail, where you have to leave a number and then someone will call you back at some point. Ridiculous. Today, the service person didn't show up, so I've had to be routed through the entire ridiculous system again JUST to get a new service appointment scheduled. Either fix this ridiculous system or I will go elsewhere. I seriously recommend anyone looking for a security system and customer support package look elsewhere, as this one has gone way downhill. Might as well have used a nationwide service provider. This stinks. read more

DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL!!! I was a customer for 4+ years, and all they cared about was the money. They tried charging me a maintenance fee when their equipment failed after a few short months. And now, after I had to move for work, sold my place they are charging me for a full year of service. And they cut off the service immediately when I gave them 6 weeks notice that I was moving. While their product functions most of the time, it is practically impossible to find information about integration with products I already have. Their price is higher than comparable competitors, ADT in particular as they lowered their price to expand customer base. I have had two alarm faults reported to the Police which were not from my alarm. I'm assuming they provided the wrong address to the local police department in bit cases. If they screwed up a third time within a year I would have been billed by my local police department. On another instance, I entered from my garage, the delayed response entrance, and my alarm immediately went off into the "Panic Mode". On this plus another time I accidently tripped the alarm by going out non-delayed entrance forgetting to do a disarm. I was never contacted to insure I was safe. Another incident two years ago, I tripped the alarm and was not contacted but they contacted the police department, who sent out an officer. I consider this mediocre service and do not have faith that they will contact me or the police when trouble has actually arrisen. When my contract expires I will be terminating their service. read more

I am so disappointed and regret so much for signing up vintage security. Here is the full story. Vintage offers various service thru builders like CraftMark for new construction. After sales rep presentation, I signed up for their WiFi system without knowing what I am going to get. At the end, I got eero 6 Dual Band Mesh WiFi system which retail price is less than $400, but Vintage charged me $1395 for exact same thing with so called " professional installation". We all know it does not required that much installation beside plug those nodes in. I talked to my sales rep Byron and ask for return this overprice ripoff WiFi system and was told that there's nothing he can do since settlement has done and contract was signed long time ago. He said it came with the purchase of the home. I learned my lesson in hard way and wanted to share it, so that less people will be played by them. No wonder why companies like Ring is getting so popular. You don't need to pay $1000 for so called professional installation and tech support. It is all excuses. Stay away from whatever Vintage is going to offer for your new home. read more

We worked with Vintage recently on products for our new construction home. The activation of these products did not go well. Their technician was inexperienced and left the installation unfinished. In addition, they sold us a "smart thermostat" system that only controls the HVAC system of half of our house, something we didn't know until it was too late to change. I've emailed with them multiple times to resolve these issues, and they fall back on unclear contract language and have no response to their inexperienced technician. I have been with Vintage for 16 years got them when the builder of my new home was under construction. been out of contract for 11 years was only a 5 year contract. Stayed with them bought the maintenance package wen ever I need any maintenance done, my old system stopped working about 5 years ago Vintage tech came in put 2 new keypads in my home front door laundry room door. Excellent work I paid -0- because it was covered under my maintenence agreement. Im in the process of getting new key pads and hard wire cameras and inside and out, I have to do a 3 year contrct but I have credit points I get each year so I am looking for to my new system with vintage. I just want to say that from beginning to end, especially during the pandemic, this was an extremely easy, stress free, and streamlined process. I had just moved into a new house and wanted to make sure it was secure. The sales rep came out and explained everything in person and made sure all my security needs were met. One the day of the install, the rep came by to check back to check in again. The technician that did all of the installs (cameras, doorbell cam, window sensors, door locks) did an excellent job. He left no cords hanging and everything looked very professional (the same can't be said about other companies I've used in the past). He took the time to demo all of the features and help setup the app. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Bought a new house, two items missing. I made an offer to just be credited with the missing items and bought a home theater system. Phil is great and so is the staff but I was overcharged and really wish I would have just held strong and made them fix it. I was billed for the second half 9 months later and after reviewing I was charged twice for wiring. Builder pre-wired home for Vintage Security. I added an outdoor camera a few months ago and it STILL doesn't work more than a week without a glitch. I've had four service tech visits and they don't have a clue on how to resolve the matter. The customer service and techs are nice people but their product is very disappointing. I gave this rating two stars because the video doorbell I have has worked well since installation. If my outdoor camera issue isn't resolved next week, I'm leaving this company and going to ADT! read more

My home was already built and installed with the vintage Security system. After several attempts (panel, garage door opener, doorbell camera)of trying to get quality service, I was told that my product was out of warranty and I'd have to pay 95.00 service fee and any other associate cost to repair the unit. I told the rep that I will disconnected the service he says ok. I call another company they install a new security system and when I call to cancel I'm told that I'll have to pay $650.00 termination fee. I file a BBB complaint and they wrote that they wish that I had contacted them for help, they have no record of it. Go with a better company that cares about quality customer service, cuz this company only cares about $$$ read more

Vintage Security is a very poor service provider. They sold me the system and told me that the front doorbell would work "just like Ring." It doesn't. The software is poor, not user friendly, and really not very effective. They have sent folks to my home about 5 times and each time they have been in a hurry and eager to leave. The solution to every problem is that I need to buy something else from them. If they were half as good at providing my home with a quality security system as they are about trying to get me to pay them for a system that does not work I would be as happy as you can imagine. But they aren't and I'm not. They want to be paid for providing a poor system that we don't use. Now they have locked my system - so I have terminated the service. I will be looking to find a home security service provider that gets the job done. STAY AWAY FROM VINTAGE. read more

Our Sales Rep, Bill, told us that our contract was only for 2 years and then we could cancel service free of charge. 2 years later my husband called to cancel and was told we would have to pay over $700 to cancel. The customer service rep emailed us a copy of the contract and sure enough it was for 5 years. I've done research and I am not the only customer that this has happened to. Terrible service! I have been using them for 1.5 years and had to place multiple service calls to fix equipment they installed incorrectly - Wireless access, alarm and keyless door locks. Yet they had no record of the lock they installed and attempted to charge me for the service call?!? Now the lock has completely jammed and it's taking them 8 days to dispatch a technician. Equipment is junk have had problems with cameras ever since day one. I have had this alarm system for somewhere between 6-8 months. Now that basically nothing is working correctly and can't be fixed over an hour phone call trying to troubleshoot. Vintage will gladly come out for $108 and $27 every 15 minutes to diagnose the problem and also charge for any bad equipment which in my mind is more than one component of their system. Equipment should last longer than 6-8 months. read more

Service is awful. They do not stand by the work done in the past. Why do I have to pay for a cable that they run through the wall?? It seems the cable was damaged but it was not discovered since we did not use it until several years later. They wired the entire house at construction time, yet they have resisted to fix issues on their own work. We also have our security system with them but we are thinking on moving with a different company. Today, I talked to them about a CAT5 cable that needed to be replaced. They told me it would take only a couple of day for the to come. I contacted them later to make the appointment only for them to tell me that they won't be able to come until 1 week and a half later. To sum up: 1) Do not stand by their work 2) The quality of work based on all the work that they have done at home has been substandard. (Run unshielded CAT5 instead of Shielded CAT5 which made HDMI through CAT5 almost impossible, HDMI cables run through the wall would not work well, CAT5 cables with voltage running through them even when unplugged from both sides, etc.) 3) They lie when they tell you they can take care of you quickly, but once in, they will make you wait for a week until they can show up. 4) Expensive. I don't mind if the work is good, but as explained before, quality of work is bad. Thinking of moving our security system to a different vendor. read more

Vintage was recomeded to us after we had a bad experience with a worldwide alarm company. Mike Herbert was the rep that came out to our house and gave us options for our home security and monitoring. He was very informative and was not pushy and he didn't try to up sell us. We chose the gold package and they were able to use all of our existing sensors but they replaced the motherboard and brains with their equipment. The installation was perfect! The technician that did the installation was very professional, polite, and patient with us during the whole time! We're saving 33% over what we were paying with the other company and we have a system that is more modern and able to be customized and upgraded as we see fit! We used ADT in the past, but have been with Vintage for over 11 years now, and have been more than pleased. We recently wanted to bring our system up to current standards, so Mike came out to talk with us. Wow! Such impressive knowledge, and absolutely NO PRESSURE to purchase features or services we would not need or use. We even learned that we had "loyalty" credits with the company ($50 per year of service), which dramatically lowered our cost! He returned to install the necessary components himself, and took lots of time instructing us on the use of the new equipment, making sure we understood its operation. Communication throughout the process was fast and efficient. We couldn't be more pleased with this local security company! read more

We've had Vintage for a few years now and I have no complaints. When I contacted them because I was thinking about cancelling my service, they offered to lower their monthly price. Thankfully, we've never had a break-in at our house, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the system, but the door chimes, etc. all function and we set our alarm every night. read more

DO NOT USE! You can get an integrated security system for MUCH less. Our salesperson was Kevin, and he provided less than ideal advice / guidance based on what we wanted. He convinced us that we needed to have ceiling speakers in 3 rooms, with each room a seperate zone - these rooms are adjoining and a pair of speakers in 1 room would have been the proper call.....what we have is overkill. Customer service is horrible - one of my cameras stopped working and when the tech came to fix it, he said "yup, it's fried"....he did not physically inspect the camera (he did not even take a ladder off the truck) and there are no visible signs the camera is "fried", he spent his time selling me on the latest HD camera. Price is great as compared to ADT, major telecommunication businesses, and competive security company's. The security package is greater than ADT. However, the customer service is limited as they operate during only business hours 9-5pm. If you need services outside those hours, then they'll retrieve your information and have a Tech Rep or other department to call you. This can take between 1 hour up to 24 hours, not good if it's an emergency. If you cannot remember your pass word, forget about getting service. Also, customers have to sign a five year agreement vs. two years like ADT. read more
