    Cilantro Lime Chicken Taco

No shade to Fargo, ND, but what comes to mind is a dreary, cold, dark, kinda boring city thanks to the show that put y'all on the map. But what I found was a vibrant nightlife scene with lots of clubs, bars and restaurants just like Vinyl Taco that had so much flare, spirit and style! I loved the fact that the menus were freaking records! I loved the throwback decor of when diners took over restaurants corners everywhere and the fact that their food was ON POINT! Inexpensive too! Atmosphere/Appearance: Vibrant, energetic, welcoming and most of all fun! Service: I couldn't remember who took care of me, but I had no complaints. Food: The margaritas were pretty freaking cool because they come in a variety of sizes, but you get one size cup. So you just get big jars of extra that you can continuously pour up all on your own! The flavors were abundant and very tasty. From the chips and salsa to the high-quality gourmet tacos, everything was absolutely on point and I loved it here. Value: It IIISSS Fargo, ND, but it's high quality Mexican fare so... this place definitely won't break the bank at all. In conclusion, if I haven't convinced you to check this place out yet, I don't know what I'm doing writing Yelp reviews. Lol. This was my favorite restaurant I visited while in town.

$5 Pork Belly Taco with Sauce, on Corn Tortilla by request

We were on our way home and it was getting late. Though neither of us were terribly hungry, we knew we'd be starving by the time we got home if we didn't grab something. Since you can eat as little or as much as you like here, with the Alacarte menu, we stopped here. From what I can tell, prices are up 20-25% since our last visit. I had 2 tacos, the hubs had 3 & we ordered chips/guacamole, with waters. It was about $42, before tip & we left satisfied. The pork belly taco was under-rendered, leaving it a tad gooey, if you will. The guacamole was OK at best. The fish taco was delish. The service was subpar but not the worst I've had. We were given water on arrival, order taken, food dropped & check popped on the table. A rather average visit.

Half eaten carne asada top right, gringo bottom right, fish taco on the left.

3 stars for the tacos, 1 star for the vibe. Great music and atmosphere. Ordered the carne asada, gringo and fish tacos. Gringo was worst, which is why it has such a basic name, :). Carne asada had good flavor but did not seem like great quality meat. I saved the fish taco for last, and it was my favorite.

I'm really impressed! Downtown Fargo has a lot of upbeat and charismatic eateries, and Vinyl Taco is certainly one that holds down the fort and carries the team! Their food, one word: awesome. It's Tex Mex, but they do it rightttt baby! The menus are laminated onto records which is so neat, it really sticks with the "vinyl" theme. I had the mango tacos here and those were absolutely my favorite thing! But everything else I've tried has been top bar too- the chimichanga is another worth mentioning! Inside, there's low lighting and loud music, so it could almost be a romantic vibe but just not quite. Decorations are pretty outlandish but like I said before, it all works into the theme. One warning is that Vinyl is superrrr popular. They are a "seat yourself" establishment, so if you get there at peak meal time and have more than 2 people you will most likely end up waiting or have a lot of trouble finding seats. My friend and I came on a weekend night around 8, and it was so packed we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. It really does get that busy. Oh, and it's 21 and up so another thing to keep in mind. For all your hippie/ grunge/ alternative/ indie foodie needs give Vinyl Taco a listen!!

Great location in downtown Fargo. Not somewhere I would recommend to go sit down for dinner. Probably better for a drink and a taco as a snack. The tacos and rice were too spicy for my tastes. Very cool ambiance and atmosphere and service was great though.

Great food, '60s and '70s R&R vinyl playing, and they even take requests (played The Doors Greatest Hits album for my wife). Katelynn did a great job with service and gave us some local recommendations of things to see and do while passing through from Ohio. Enchiladas, beef burrito (with queso sauce), guacamole and an IPA

Good stuff here. Atmosphere is Outstanding. Came by for something lite and the off the Cobb salad did the trick. My daughter recommended coming here. Glad she did.

A very neat little place in Downtown Fargo that spins vinyl records right at the end of the bar. I sat right in front of this setup and can't imagine there are many better spots. For food, I started with the chips and queso. Sadly, it was on the bland side. Maybe adding in the sausage would be worth it on a return visit. I tried a variety of tacos. Most of them were pretty solid. Of the ones I tried, the pork belly was very unique and a 4/5. The crispy fish taco had a ton of flavor and was like no other fish taco I've had. I'd also give it a 4/5. The shrimp taco was decent but nothing exceptional (3/5). The one letdown was the buffalo chicken taco (2/5), which was surprising since I love buffalo sauce. Cool little place with good service and some unique food.

Chips didn't taste great and were over salted. Tacos were just okay, could have made better at home.

Another great location walking distance from Hotel Donaldson where we are staying during our anniversary visit to Fargo. We both loved our signature drinks - me the Equinox Martini and my spouse the Churchill's Breakfast (SO GOOD). We both ordered the short rib and when I tell you it was delicious...tender, flavorful, plated and presented well...believe me. We had dessert as well and I am not going to lie we both were not just impressed but got a little emotional. Yes we'd had a couple drinks but they were that good. Angelfood french toast with whipped cream and a berry glaze, and ... let me pause and collect myself ... chocolate chip croissant bread pudding. Perfect 'soaked but firm' texture and not too sweet. The chocolate flavor stood out for being rich but not cloying. Loved it. All this in a cool atmosphere with great staff - servers, hostess, bar...everyone was great and on their game. Highly recommend.

So, with that, I ended up ordering the meatloaf and wish I hadn't. Restaurant meatloaf is never like homemade, and this was no exception. It was trying to hard, and just fell flat on it's face. My wife didn't like her fish, either. Probably a better bar than restaurant, but when you're on vacation you get to try new things! Anyway, I would go here to grab a drink with friends, as the decor was pretty awesome, I just wouldn't shoot for dinner.

I've never been to Ireland, so I can't exactly confirm that LOL. Most of the food was good, with one exception, the beef stew. It tasted like what I imagine dog food would taste like, bland and no flavor! The burgers, on the other hand, were delicious! The beef tasted incredibly fresh, like it came from locally raised cattle. If you're dining here, pass on the stew and go straight for the burger.

There is a specific kind of comfort found in the weight of a heavy wooden door and the gleam of a…read morewell-polished bar. At the Blarney Stone, located within the historic bones of the Hotel Donaldson, the stage is set for a masterclass in the traditional Irish pub experience. It is a space that feels curated rather than accidental--a sanctuary of dark leathers and flickering light that promises an escape from the biting North Dakota wind. The Canvas The location is undeniable. Sitting at the corner of Broadway and 1st Avenue, it occupies the literal and figurative heart of downtown Fargo. Inside, the architecture does the heavy lifting: the high ceilings and segmented seating areas offer a sense of intimacy that is rare in the era of open-concept dining. It is a "big room" that manages to feel like a collection of private snugs, perfectly suited for a long afternoon of market watching through the street-side windows. The Draught and the Plate The selection here is the establishment's strongest suit. With over 30 beers on tap, the menu moves fluidly from the essential Guinness pour to local craft favorites. For those looking for something more fortifying, the whiskey and Scotch collection is arguably the most respectable in the region. * The Fare: The menu is a dependable lineup of "pub grub" with a Celtic leaning. The Irish Nachos--waffle fries topped with a signature "Dublin Dip"--are a crowd favorite, and the Shepherd's Pie offers the kind of starchy, savory warmth one craves in this latitude. The food is decent, hitting the expected marks of a high-end tavern without necessarily aiming for culinary reinvention. The Human Element However, a pub is more than the sum of its architecture and its inventory; it is a living organism fueled by its staff. While the "bones" of the Blarney Stone are magnificent, the soul of the experience currently rests on the shoulders of the team. In a space this grand, the atmosphere requires a certain intentionality from the staff to bridge the gap between "a place to sit" and "a place to be." There are moments when the energy in the room feels dormant, waiting for a spark of hospitality to fully activate the historic surroundings. The difference between a good night and an unforgettable one here often comes down to the engagement of the crew--the small gestures of "pub culture" that make a guest feel like a regular before they've finished their first pint. The Verdict The Blarney Stone has everything it needs to be the definitive crown jewel of Fargo's pub scene: a premier location, a stellar drink list, and a gorgeous interior. It is currently a very good spot that is only a few degrees of "team-driven energy" away from being truly legendary. If the atmosphere can be brought to the level of the architecture, it will be hard to beat.
