Well sorry to say I'm leaving a bad review for the poor customer service. I paid $390 for the glasses and 6 days later they broke right as I was taking them off my face. I figured it would be covered since it was clearly a defect. When I brought them in, they said since they were clearance they are not under warranty. I had to pay an extra $50 to get them fixed. Also they never told me that they weren't covered under a warranty. The sad part is, the whole reason I went to them was from a referral that said they are great and will fix my glasses for free if anything happens to them for free. Oh well lesson learned. Todd provided us with a plastic case to put any glasses I tried on or touched (for covid purposes) - he asked if we needed help while I was browsing but gave me plenty of space to roam. Everyone mentioned how good and reasonable Costco is, and we have a new one in the area. One time, while shopping, I stopped by to check out the glasses at Costco. I didn't feel the price was that competitive. I thought, "Let me see what VIP Eyes can do". I remembered how good the service was there, and they're a small, locally owned business. I live a good 20 minutes away from the store, but after considering closer alternatives i drove to VIP. Boy, and i glad i did. All the staff members i interacted with were helpful and genuinley concerned that my needs were met and i consider all option. I will never go to any other place besides VIP Eyes. The staff in there really make you feel important and taken care of. Do not forget to call when you get out front because you do not even have to leave your car. I have difficulties with having eye glasses always breaking on me literally in the past hundreds of dollars on glasses and only to have them broken and feeling left miserable. Not being able to see added insult to injury on top of that. VIP eyes learned that I break my glasses fast and they also got an extra pair for me just in case I do break them. I am never without vision because of VIP eyes. It's easy to shop over the phone they have no problem helping you learn your choices and telling you what's bad for your glasses. I learned those little ropes hurt the bendy part of your glasses that go around your ears from this place. They want you to be happy. If you are someone that is low income and or disabled and have a case manager at Common Ties you can get help getting your glasses. Not only were they very helpful and willing to adjust the fit of my glasses, free of charge, but they were outstanding with the customers that were there shopping for new glasses. Stopped by to see if they could explain progressive yellowing of non-tinted lenses from another vendor. Not only were they able to explain the problem but discovered a significant mistake in the manufacture of the existing glasses. The original vendor agreed and replaced with new glasses without any push back. The new glasses from VIP are excellent and have no discoloration. If I could give VIP Eyes 10 stars, in particular Todd, the owner, I would. I went there to buy new glasses back in September. The glasses weren't right and I went back after a couple of weeks. Todd checked the prescription and they didn't match. He immediately sent them back to be remade. Cut to, problems with the prescription being wrong from the get-go (not VIP's fault) and Todd patiently trying to help me get the glasses right. It took four tries at no extra cost to me, and Todd finally figured out what the problem was (something the eye doctor wasn't able to do). Todd had the glasses remade a fourth time and they are now perfect. I am so grateful to Todd that he didn't give up, showed kindness and patience to get it right. Just this week I have been a very satisfied customer for the second time at VIP Eyes. Their new location (across the street, in the Lowe's plaza) is very convenient, especially when I need to run other errands at the same time! There are many choices of men's and women's frames under $100, and reasonable prices for name brands for the frames that go over. When I wasn't satisfied with the women's selection (I like big, bulky glasses) the optician suggested I look at the men's as some of them were a little more feminine, and that the style lately seems to be going towards bigger glasses and I might find what I like. I love the fact that I was made to feel comfortable I didn't want the lady-glasses! The prescription was filled in a speedy 2-3 business days, and I am now driving around down confidently again because I can actually see the road signs. After getting some modestly priced frames, crizal anti-glare, anti-scratch protection and a sweet glasses case I only paid $57 after my insurance coverage of $100. You don't need to buy frames in a boutique in order to look good, feel comfortable and be able to see. I HIGHLY recommend this business. read more

The owner of this establishment is extremely honest and has very reasonable prices. I originally went to Pro Vision in the Maine mall and the cheapest option was 270 dollars for lenses and frames. Discouraged, I called almost every eyeglass store in Portland and this place had the most reasonable prices. Immediately upon entering the store, the owner greeted me and personally helped me try on glasses. He was very patient with me and probably brought me 50 pairs of glasses to try on to narrow down the exact type I wanted. The owner actually pushed me away from spending more money on glasses as he talked me out of getting anti-glare coating on the lenses due to my young age, which the Pro Vision sales rep. told me was vital. I went to VIP eyes to fix 2 glasses. The first set just needed the screws put in better along with the lens fitted back in. It was free and my next pair were accidentally demolished. The owner found a new frame for them and fitted them for me for $25.00. I was so relieved and grateful as glasses are so expensive.
