Came here for a simple pedicure at 6pm and the experience was awful. Another client had made an appointment at the same for herself and three other people and instead of the manager placing them together for a pedicure he separated them causing an issue. I had to sit and listen to her complain and speak loudly across the nail salon to her niece about how the experience was ruined because everyone in her party didn't receive service at the same time. The situation only became worse when the manager came over and proceeded to talk about me to her. Accusing me of not having an appointment and even agreeing that I was in the wrong.I offered to give up my seat but was told no it's not an issue. However that was a lie because the other client continued to discuss the matter for the reminder of her visit.I definitely will not be back . read more

I had an appointment & waited 30 min after that time to be seen. My nail tech did not speak to me outside of giving instructions & confirming what I was having done. He was obviously rushing me through the service, doing a very sloppy job, and had the nerve to become rude when I asked for my nails to be fixed. They were very thick & uneven. I paid way too much money to have still left with poorly shaped uneven nails that have bubbled polish. My last two experiences at this place were terrible, and I will not be back. One star for thee layout and wait time but as for the quality...idk. Doesn't seem like they know how to do nails with a shape even acrylic is very flat like someone laid a piece of cardboard on your nail and glued it and painted it. The nail under my acrylic wasn't shaved down and I had glue or gel nail polish all over the top of my nails to my knuckle. Maybe just my tech I know everyone of the workers were watching her and she kept saying "it's fine it's fine" then I had to ask her to paint the sides and outside edge she was very angry and asked "all of them??" I said yes I would like to have my entire nail painted. I took the credit card charge out of her tip because it wasn't told to me prior because I asked her the price. I did call the store talked to Vu he said he will fix it Wednesday but have no apology at all even after seeing the photos. Daniel told her he couldn't do the nails she requested. She was upset, explained it was just polish w silver glitter polish on the ends- he said he didn't know how to do that. She was flustered, so she settled for silver chrome nails bc it was a simplistic request. He did them, and when she went to pay- her bill was $65. For a fill in a style she didn't really want. She didn't argue, but was very upset. It seems that they make up prices randomly, don't honor appointments, and overcharge children after making them choose simple nail treatments they don't even want. I will not return. read more

I've been going here for over a year. There's an older lady who's done my nails and has always been great. Unfortunately, the past 2 times, I had a younger lady who is very fast, but very rude. I asked to get the water cooler and she argued with me that the water was fine. I have a medical condition where I can't have hot water on my skin or I get hives. I attempted to explain this, but she let me know it was an inconvenience. My daughter was going to Florida, so we went back to get another pedicure 3 weeks later and I received the same tech. She reminds me that "we were just in there 2 weeks before", as if I was an inconvenience. I told her it was a month ago just before my sister's funeral. But what does it matter??? I'm giving you business. She trimmed my nails very short. Plus, we made an appointment and still had to wait for 30 minutes. Why have appointments? I came in for a fill in and the tech "boo" helped me out. He was very fast and got those corners! I'm very picky about my nails! He asked me if I liked how he was doing mid treatment which was also appreciated. Overall I had a good experience. The sign in sheet had about 6-7 other people signed in for services ranging from 30-40 minute wait before I arrived for my appointment that had not been helped yet. If you are running a business you should know how long each worker is going to need on a service and therefore know how many appointments to schedule at the same time. I stopped at VIP on Saturday at 10:30a and there were only 3 other women waiting so I took a seat after signing in for a gel polish. It was for a special occasion. My wait was 1 hour and 6 minutes. Then the guy that was to do my nails did not speak English ( not kidding!) and could not understand what color I wanted even though I had a nail color sample to show him! He brought four different colors of dark pinks when what I showed him literally that was on my nails, which was a pale pink, someone gave him a color that, although it was no where near what I had on my nails, I decided to go with just to get on with what had already been over 1.5 hours! It was a more translucent natural look. It took him an hour to do my nails which is average for a decent mani BUT my nails looked like I had done them at home. The ends of the nails had very thick globs of the top coat which was really thick as he put it on. Also, he charged me $32 and someone else that had a gel polish there said they charged her $28, so I guess they can charge whatever they want. I will of course not be going back to VIP in Avon. I would give zero stars if I could! I have a 1:30p appointment for a mani pedi I was told it was going to be a half hour wait so I went next door to grab something to eat. Came back 15 mins into my 30 mins wait. At this point it was 1:45p waited till 2p and asked how much longer it was going to be they said another 45mins regardless I left and refuse to ever go back! First time there and new to the area. I will be driving 3 hours to get my nails done at the place I've always went to in my home town! I've been a loyal customer ever since writing my review of this place last year, however, the more I come, the more disappointed I am. They are quite rude in general, except for a couple of the girls that work there. Yesterday I went in, having made an appointment with Tran for both my mom and myself (seriously, she's the BEST and the only reason I kept coming back). After arriving, the guy tells me she's on vacation for a month, having left early that morning. Well, if I had been aware of that when I called to make the appointment (as I'm sure they were already aware), I would not have made the appointment at all. So he conveniently left that out so I would come in anyway. I was annoyed but planned to stay since I was already there. I then asked one of the men standing at the front if he could show me a color and I gave him the number from the sample. He told me to just go compare it to the ones on the wall. Seriously? You can't be bothered to have the most basic customer service skills required for a job that deals with just that? There are WAY too many nail salons in the area to stay loyal to one that doesn't appreciate your business or loyalty. read more

Excellent service. I called them on a Sunday morning and made an appointment for that afternoon. When I arrived, I was surprised at the size of the salon and it was busy. Since I had an appointment I was served right away. I really wasn't looking forward to going to a new salon. I read reviews and most were positive so I decided to give it a try. They offer 3 levels of pedicure. CeCe was my technician. She was very gentle got all my ingrown nails out without hurting me. I have found my new go to salon. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Customer service is not the owners top priority anymore . I really loved this nail shop in the beginning and have referred several people to come here. Big regret. The service here has severely dwindled down. You can tell the owner doesn't enjoy this business Avenue anymore. He has to take a smoke break after almost every customer. On top of it..,the way he treats his staff in front of customers is terrible. He's all about the dollar. And to make matters worse some nail techs aren't even licensed inside the shop. Then you have customers getting cut because of improper practice. The wait time is unacceptable because the owner doesn't know how to coordinate scheduled appointment and walk ins leaving some customers neglected. I came in about three weeks ago and got my nails done by the owner of this place. He did an incredible job and honestly was very kind, accommodating, and quick with his work. He did my nails in about an hour and it was a very articulate design so in my opinion he was incredibly fast with his work and very skilled at what he did. I was told to make an appointment the next time I wanted to come in because they were normally very busy so I did. I planned on taking my sister as a treat. We got here today and my sister when back first. I waited an extra 40 minute past when I made my appointment, which isn't much of a problem to me, as I understand the business mentality and their urgency to serve everyone. Once I got back to get my nails done, they told me they couldn't do the design I wanted, no big deal at all. However when I was being asked what color I wanted, I was told I couldn't do that because it wouldn't cover up the colored powder I had on. I wanted the nails removed at this point and the lady helping me told me no. The whole time she was being very disrespectful with the way she looked at me and what I wanted done to my nails. I, personally, don't dress up very fancy for most things and many people might get the wrong impression of me, however it was over the top rude the way that they were approaching me and treating me in general. I went to this salon based on the recommendation of a friend. I also checked the reviews (here on Yelp) and decided to give it a try since it is very close to home. Based on the reviews, I decided to request Tran. As soon as i walked in and was looked at but not greeted, I should have turned around and walked out. I didn't and spent months paying for it! I signed in and sat down and waited 10 minutes before i was "greeted" with "What do you need?" I told them i wanted a pedicure and would like Tran to do it. They told me what chair to go to and that was it. I don't know the name of the boy that did my pedicure but it was a young male so it was not Tran. Someone kept smoking in the back (yes, INSIDE!) so my entire pedicure was spent trying to nonchalantly breathe through my shirt sleeve because I have asthma and cigarette smoke is one of my triggers. I told the tech that I had gel polish on and he said it wasn't a problem. I normally get gel polish on my toes and have never had ANYONE use tools to remove it yet that is exactly what this guy kept trying to do! I kept telling him to SOAK it off and he would nod and say OK and go back to drilling on my toes. I would yank my foot back and tell him no more drilling on my toes, that he was going to make my nail too thin. He then stopped drilling and switched to using a course file to remove the polish! He spoke English very well to others so I think he was just being impatient and didn't want to wait for the polish to soak off. By the time he was done, my cuticles looked atrocious from the course file hitting them as he filed both cross-ways and longways on my toes. My toenails were horribly thin from the drill and coarse filing as well as sore. He had filed my toenails so thin that the warm water was burning them. I also told him that I wear my toenails a bit long so I did not want them shortened; he cut them all the way down to where they attach underneath! I did not receive any type of leg or foot massage and since i use a pumice stone on my feet daily, there are no callouses to remove. He applied the gel polish i wanted but kept bumping my toes with the UV light because the way he was propping it up was a joke and it kept falling. At this point I just wanted out of there! When I was done and went to pay, I was told it was $68! I told the girl (I have no idea where the tech that did my nails went) that i just got a pedicure and gel polish and that they didn't even do the massage or have to remove any callouses! She just nodded and repeated the price. After a bit of repeating the same scene and no one else coming to intervene, i decided to cut my losses. I paid the amount, tipped $2, told them i would never be back and would make sure to spread the word about my experience and spent the next TWO MONTHS waiting for my toenails to grow out and not be so thin. The only positive of the whole thing, the gel polish actually lasted two months with no chipping or peeling. I have had my nails professionally done for over 20 years and have NEVER had such an awful experience. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! read more

$1.25 for credit card processing. I've been getting my nails done for 20 years and never have I had this happen. To the owner/staff, I guarantee this will effect your tips. I had intended to give a $15 tip which would have been a generous 22% tip, but only gave $13.75 b/c of this charge which I think is ridiculous. If there are other people out there like me, let's say you have 10 guests a day, 6 days a week, for a year, that is $2,880 a year your staff is missing out on. Maybe go up a dollar on your prices if you can't afford your credit card processing charges. Your guests are more than likely to pay for it and tip on that amount than to see an additional charge that the business should be taking care of. Unfortunately b/c of this, I will not be returning. I came in the shop with my sister and we sat down in the waiting room. A few other customers came in 10 minutes later and sat in the waiting room with us. They all were greeted by the nail tech guy except for us. My sister pointed it out to me that they was basically giving us the cold shoulder. I was kind of bothered by that but decided to let it go. Then two of the women who came after us who also was sitting in the waiting room, went to go get their nails done before us. When I asked the nail tech guy why the two women went after us, he said that they set an appointment earlier. We was not sure whether that was true but decided to let it go anyways. After waiting for so long finally the nail tech guy walks over to me and said without any eye contact "sit in the chair in the back". He looked like he was annoyed, like he did not want me to be there. But he was PERFECTLY fine when greeting the other women who came right after us. I went to sit in the chair but I asked another nail tech guy if he would do my nails instead. He was so rude as he said "why me?" and walked away. I was baffled.....What the hell did I do that was so wrong. Finally the nail tech guy comes over to my table and while doing my nails he kept asking me if their was something wrong with me. I was confused on what he ment by that since I didn't really say anything. Then he called me picky and was saying how much they hate picky people and no one likes someone that is sooo picky. Keep in mind that I didn't really say a word to him. At this point I was annoyed and fed up so I told him "even if I was being picky I have every right to be. Am not about to waste my money on nails if your not going to get it right. Why should you care wether or not am being picky". I also told them that he was being judgemental. to be honest with you I thought it was also discrimination since me and my sister are black and the customers that they were treating soooo well are white. I no it was not just a coincidence -_-. This was not my first time going to this nail salon. the first time I went the nail tech guy asked me what length I wanted and i told him that I wanted it long. He had the nurve to say "why...so you could stick it up your butt". I thought he was jus kidding since I heard he always cracks jokes. But now I know.... they were purposely trying to be rude towards me, I don't recommend you to go to this nail salon. its the worst customer service I have ever had. read more
