Our move from MD to FL with VIP Transport/Mayflower went very well. We received quotes from several companies but settled on VIP Transport/Mayflower based on reviews and track record. Overall, they did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations. All three segments of the move were conducted in a professional manner -- from the agent that initially visited our house to inventory our belongings and explain the moving process (Anthony Booker), to the moving coordinator (Julia Fountain), and the loading/unloading by drivers (Heather and Mark) and crew. We believe the cost of the move was reasonable given the distance (over a 1000 miles) and the weight of the goods. Mr. Booker was very pleasant to work with. He listened to our concerns, answered our questions, and provided suggestions. Mr. Booker's cost estimate was very close to the actual weight and we definitively liked the binding contract as the estimate given did not change throughout the entire moving process. The coordinator (Ms. Fountain) was extremely helpful and dependable, and continuously offered reassurance to us that the move was going to be OK. She communicated with us during the entire process, from scheduling crating personnel to ensuring that the drivers and crew met the loading and unloading dates that were originally set. There was one negative during the loading of goods in MD - a small area of the family room hardwood floor was scratched while the crew moved an entertainment unit. However, Ms. Fountain promptly responded (asked for pictures and buyer contact information) by contacting the claims manager who initiated actions to get the issue corrected. We as sellers and the buyers were kept informed of the claims process. On moving day in MD, the crating personnel and moving crew were on time. Heather and Mark were pleasant and courteous, and they monitored the crew to ensure they were careful with our belongings (my wife and did most of the packing). The crew appropriately packed mattresses and two TVs as originally discussed with Mr. Booker. The loading was completed fairly fast. Delivery in FL was done within the range scheduled by Ms. Fountain and Heather kept us informed of the exact date and time. Again, the local crew that was hired was extremely efficient and fast, and there were no issues to report. Finally, Ms. Fountain scheduled a company to uncrate a table glass top and this was done with no problems. Moving in the past for me was a weekend of packing up buddies trucks and hoping nothing got broke. That was 5 years and a couple of kids ago. I took the advice of some neighbors and started calling around moving companies, if I couldn't find one my buddies are still around:) I had 3 companies scheduled for an estimate. The first guy called when he was a half hour late and said he could maybe see me later. Maybe not! So my 2nd guy came out from a company called perry and gave me the fastest estimate. Probably because he told me he was running late for another appt and my move was simple enough to give me a ball park. That led me to my 3rd appt the next day. Anthony called me the night before to confirm and showed up on time. He explained to me all of the options I have, and broke down the prices. He took a great amount of time going over everything. I enjoyed his time and information. He seemed very happy and confident in his company, I decided to use VIP. Anthony told me his coordinator would call me and take me through the entire process. 3 hours later Brie from VIP calls and goes over all of my details and to tell me she was there for any and all questions. She called me 2 days later just to check up and see how my packing was going, and if she needed anything. I broke down into tears telling her nothing was packed and I needed to change my date. So she took care of finding me a pack crew and a new day for moving. My packers showed up that Wednesday bright and early and knew exactly how to handle everything safely. Heck I even was watching their methods- chip and his crew worked all day long with nothing but smiles! Thursday was move day. Dewayne was my driver and he had 2 other helpers with him. They had all of belongings into the truck and down the road within 3 hours. Brie kept touching base with me to make sure everything was ok. I told her she should be proud her hard working guys! I only moved a couple of miles away so I met dewayne at the new house. His crew was unloading the truck while he sat with me checking off my inventory. At the end of the day I was moved with the best of folks. My quote was exactly what Anthony had told me and Brie was their for her valued support. She even sent me a welcome home card! I had a very short moving period and needed to move to Seattle, WA. I actually went to the Mayflower webpage and was immediately contacted by Gary Jones who is a VIP sales rep. He came to my house and we made an inventory of what was being moved to Seattle. That same day I received a quote for the move and was told how everything would happen as the day to move got closer. From that day forward VIP kept me informed through their Heather Quinn. She provided with the date and time of arrival from the movers. The movers arrived o the day I was given and within half an hour of the two hour window. All my boxes and other stuff was moved carefully as one of the guys kept track of all the boxes and numbered each item. They were in and out of my house within an hour and there was absolutely no damage to the boxes or to my house and they moved things from one floor to the next. Heather and Gary had also provided with an window of two weeks for when my move would arrive in Seattle. From that day forward Heather kept me informed of where my move was as well as gave me the name of the driver and his phone number to contact him. Two days before my things arrived she called again to tell me possible times of arrival - there is just no way to express how impressed I was with all the information that was given. After taking toe Heather i received a call from the driver and he gave me more details about the truck arrival and also asked about the logistics of the storage area for my things. The driver and I agreed to talk an hour before his arrival so I could get to the storage unit on time and that is exactly how it happened. He and another person unloaded all of my things and everything except for one item arrived in intact condition - I was very, very impressed. After the delivery Heather again provided additional information on billing - my cargo came under the minimum weight limit and even though my cargo was relatively small every step of the process was handled extremely professionally by everyone. I really cannot say enough good things about all the people I interacted with and this was the least stressful part of my move. This was my second long distance self move, as all my others were taken care of by the military. The only other experience I have with moving companies was horrendous, so needless to say, I was beyond dreading doing it again. But, selling everything and starting over wasn't an option, so I started looking. From the time I requested quotes, every other company started giving me estimates based on who knows what. They flooded my inbox with emails, and called me at all hours, over and over. Not MayFlower though. They insisted that they come inventory my items themselves so they could give me a fair price that would not change. Because I hadn't secured a lease in our new location until about a week before moving, I gave them very short notice of our move out date. With only about 6 days notice, Julia with VIP had everything set up. I was able to sign all forms online, and pay online. I self packed and had everything ready to go when the movers got there at the beginning of the 2 hour window we were given. They worked quickly and were respectful of my things, my house, and my family. On the delivery side, everything was delivered in 4 days, on a holiday (move was about 700 miles). The guys again were friendly and respectful, and got everything unloaded within maybe 90 minutes. Julia called to check in to make sure everything was good. There is possibly a box missing, but I have no idea what could be in it, so I'm not too concerned there. There were some parts to my daughters bed missing, and I called the driver to let him know. He was on his way to his next stop, but he called me the next day to let me know he didn't find them when he emptied his truck. I'm pretty positive that it was lost on the pickup, as they were easily overlooked, and may have never even gotten on the truck. Overall, everything got to me in the shape it left, and it got here quickly. I'm even getting a small credit back because my shipment was underweight (but they were so close in their estimate!). read more

I was moving from Baltimore, MD to Durham, NC and I found VIP through Mayflower. It was a very pleasant experience working with VIP and I am very grateful for the staffs from VIP who helped smooth my move. I often hear people complain about their moving companies for various reasons, such as long delay of delivery, missing items, etc., so I was quite worried when planning my move and even after I got in touch with the representatives from VIP. However, the staffs from VIP told me not to worry, reassuring me that VIP assists people to move everyday and is a company with rich experience in the field. Eventually, they persuaded me with their professionalism and great care for the job that VIP is a company worth of trust. The movers arrived punctually on the moving day. They wrapped the furnitures carefully before moving them. I packed my household items into boxes myself, but the staffs from VIP helped me check the boxes and made sure they were secured for the trip. They also made detailed notes about the inventory and the conditions of each furniture and box. The coordinator let me know the prospective date of delivery right after we uploaded the truck and the driver arrived on time. The driver (Will) and another mover (George) worked on unloading the truck and moving everything into my house in NC. They were very hard-working and were very patient asking about where to put each item on the three-floor house. If there was anything I wish could be different, it would be that I wish the company could have sent more people for the delivery. The coordinator for my moving, Dara, did a wonderful job following up with the uploading and delivery. Many thanks to the staff from VIP who made my relocation much less stressful than I had thought of. If I am reading a review that speaks to the price, packing on moving day, delivery of household goods that were excellent, that is what is expected from a professional moving company. What was exceptional in my recent 2018 moving experience with VIP Transport was the customer service from the sales person coming to provide me with a free quote to the movers on the pick-up, storage and then transport and delivery on the back end was above and beyond honest, supportive, all questions asked and service of movers and management friendly and professional. It is my responsibility to know all aspects of how to move my goods and VIP Transport provided even free boxes, and their regular moving guide to provide me with a detailed schedule up to my moving day. I have moved coast to coast 4 times and overseas and back so I do have experience and knowledge and consider myself an expert on how to move and protect my belongings. Therefore, my standards and expectations are set high and VIP Transport exceeded them. I rarely write reviews as it is inevitable that there will be people who have negative experiences. And instead of seeking solutions complain. I have no hesitation in writing this review as I placed my trust in this company to safely pack and ship my personal things that are irreplaceable. A moving company is in essence transporting your life that has meaning and can not be replaced. Everyone I worked with to facilitate my move from MD to FL was wonderful. Idk about all the low star reviews but both the move coordinator and estimator kept in contact with me throughout the whole process. They both answered all my questions promptly via texts, phone calls and emails - and these questions spanned a couple of weeks and had prompt replies every time. Price was reasonable - it was binding so that was nice, there was no hidden fees to worry about. The movers were great (Armstrong Movers based out of NC), communicated with us and seemed to work well together (driver and the guy helping him). They wrapped all the big stuff nicely and retaped boxes that we had packed. The packing did take a few hours but 1) It was cold outside, and 2) it was raining 3) we have a lot of stuff. The driver/mover was also every helpful because he too answered all my questions and allowed me to contact him while he was driving down to FL. He also contacted me to give me updates on when he would be arriving. Unloading went super quick compared to loading (same people doing it), all the stuff was intact, minus some bumps and scratches - it was ikea furniture so i dont care. Also, they are putting in a huge semi truck. I think its pretty crazy to expect NOTHING to have bumps and scratches. The guys were really nice though and WERE A WHOLE DAY EARLY! We just had a local move from outside DC to Baltimore City. Based on some good feedback on the website, I contacted VIP. The estimator was very professional and gave us an estimate by the end of the visit. My point of contact with the company, Carolyn, was extremely professional and a charm with whom to work. We had people come in to pack us - they worked 12 hours to get everything boxed up and labeled. Then the moving crew was fabulous! When they realized that they had a time limit on the Baltimore end, they really hustled to get the truck loaded and up to Baltimore to meet the deadline. They were really thorough, and they worked wonderfully together under somewhat difficult conditions on the Baltimore end. On top of that, we then had to stop by our storage unit to put in the rest of the cargo, since we were downsizing. So again, another 12 hour day. Since unpacking, we have only seen a couple mishaps. Only one item was broken - and not a valuable piece at all. A couple boxes seem to have been mislabeled, so we will have to go to the storage unit and find the ones we need and then put in stuff that should have gone there in the first place. But given the amount of stuff we had to pack up and move, everyone did a super job. I am very impressed with the professionalism of everyone, from Anthony to Carolyn to Chris and Kia's team to Chip and his team. Kudos to everyone. read more

Moved from D.C. to Kansas City and got quotes from four different moving companies. VIP transport wasn't the cheapest; they fell about middle of the pack. I chose them because they were the most professional and easiest to work with when I was reviewing quotes. My move went incredibly smooth. Julia Fountain from VIP was my move coordinator and was fantastic. She answered all of my questions with patience and professionalism. She even coordinated getting my car shipped through a third party auto transport company. The packing team was great - they packed a full 3-bedroom house in about 6 hours. The moving team (both DC and Kansas City teams) were fantastic. Everyone showed up on time and called frequently so I was never guessing about what was going on. Not a single thing (not even a light bulb) was damaged and nothing went missing. I was really concerned about the 7-day delivery window they provided in my contract. With two little kids, being without your stuff is really stressful. So I was thrilled when the delivery driver told me he was heading straight to my new house and so I'd be without my belongings for only two days. That's probably not typical for everyone but I felt like I won the lottery! I don't have a single negative thing to say. I used both the household goods and auto shipping services through VIP Transport-Mayflower. Julia Fountain-who oversaw my shipping was the best. My household goods were picked up as promised, packed and upon arrival everything was intact. The only thing that was a bit odd was when I could not find items I got on the truck with the movers and found that other families household goods were on the same shipment and things were just not clearly separated which could have been a huge problem. Also please be sure to know on both pick up and delivery if a semi trailer will be able to pull up close to your area because if not this creates lots of work for the movers-they may need to use a smaller vehicle for a smooth stress free move. In negative 1 degree temps my two movers did a great job. They put my things together, removed packing materials and boxes. My household goods arrived earlier than planned which was great. My auto was to be transported in an open container, but was actually delivered to me in a closed container-which was a huge sigh of relief for me because of the extreme weather conditions during this move. Overall, I'd use Mayflower again and again. I am sure that when departing Iowa, I will definitely contact them again. You wont find a better Customer focused moving company out there. read more

VIP Transport was amazing! Customer service is a priority. Anthony came out to my place and after meeting with 4 other companies, I just felt comfortable and safe with my choice. I moved my 1bed/1bath apartment from Arlington, VA to Orlando, FL. I selected my pick up date and was able to secure the time slot as well. The loading went smooth as possible. It was stress free and I was satisfied with the movers. The only complaint I have is a few of my pieces were chipped. I was told padding would be used and should have check the truck out myself. It's small fixes, but in the grand picture everything arrived perfectly as packaged! The unloading was quick and the crew was incredible. They worked with me. Julia Fountain is the best coordinator and took a load off my shoulders. .She is consistent and reassuring. She will work with you in every aspect and make sure you are happy. This is very important for a single girl moving to a new city by herself! I sent an e-mail and the issue was resolved within minutes. I absolutely had a wonderful experience and the fact I didn't have to lift a finger was awesome! I'm also impressed that my claim is being handled so quickly. I received moving estimates from several moving companies for my cross country move. The one that won me over was this company. Anthony was such a positive and enthusiastic representative of the company and I felt confident that everything would work out. Once I advised Anthony of my decision, Julia handled my case and was there for me from start to finish. I was in the process of buying a house and Julia worked with me to help avoid storage fees, which I felt was over and above the call of duty. The three men who packed my belongings arrived on time and worked hard and took special care handling and packing everything. Again, Julia was there throughout the process, touching base with me during pack out and throughout the weeks following pack out. My shipment was delivered on the day expected and the two movers arrived on time and did a great job as well. So far, the boxes I have unpacked have no damage and I feel confident that the unpacked items will all be a in great condition. I am very pleased with this company and the people who were responsible for getting my belongings from the east coast to the west coast. From our initial consultation and quote to the move to our final destination...VIP/United Van Lines made our moving experience the best it could possibly be. We had not moved in 16 years, and It was our first long distance move. We were emotional, and very stressed. Our driver and Baltimore crew was absolutely the best! Professional , courteous, and so careful with our belongings, as well as the home we were leaving. They padded our hardwood stairs, our front door and hallways. Our furniture was carefully wrapped like packages. The professional packers did an amazing job packing all of our fragile items, lamps, mirrors, etc. Our driver was clear and precise explaining exactly what would happen when he and the truck arrived at our new home. The crew we had moving in, was just as professional as the one we had moving out. This move was by far the best of my career. I'm required to move every 3-5 years due to work requirements and I've had some good ones and some bad ones over the years. Vip was def one of the good. The salesman came out on time and was very knowledgeable. After so many moves you can kinda see who knows and doesn't know their stuff. The sales assistant called me the very next day after I'd chosen Vip and went over all the details. There was a minor mix up in what I understood our delivery dates to be but she put me right in touch with a manager (Joe) who sorted it all out. Finally on move day all the guys were polite and in uniform and did a great job taking care of my stuff. On delivery day we found only 1 item with minor damage (trust me..there's no such thing as a perfect move) and Vip's claim manager was on it quickly. Before it was totally settled the mgr went on vacation so I actually got the Director of Operations (Thanks Erica!) on the phone to finish out the settlement process. I had a positive experience in my recent move with VIP this week. Heather, my coordinator, inspired confidence in the company from my first phonecall a few months ago. She gave me needed heads up info (don't leave art on walls; if you pack a mirror yourself instead of having us do it, you will save money; if you want to lay down a runner on your carpet, don't use a plastic tarp, maybe paper would work, but think through any potential hazard of a mover slipping; etc.). I asked for a morning appt., and got it. The team showed up right on time, were cheerful and capable, and moved my stuff expeditiously. I was awed by the strength of Nico, who could hoist a heavy item as if it were light, but always did everything with care and evident forethought. Earnest was pretty impressive too, a wiry guy with surprising strength, and Chip the driver went as slowly as I could wish as he followed me from the old place to the new. All in all the team performed with care, reliability, and a good grace. The A Team got me through a long-anticipated stressful day, and I am appreciative. read more

My husband and I used VIP Transport through Mayflower for our move from Northern VA to Raleigh, NC. The amount of professionalism this service and it's employees have is incredible! It was very comforting to have access to a move coordinator at all times (Julia Fountain was great!). The movers showed up on time and did a fabulous job making sure all of our items were well protected and inventoried. They spent about 8 hours packing everything into their truck and making sure nothing was left behind. They then showed up the next morning in Raleigh and unloaded everything in sweltering heat and without one complaint. They meticulously ensured the inventory was accounted for and not one item went missing. There ended up being one scratch on the inside of my desk drawer with missing pegs for the drawer shelf, but otherwise everything was perfect! I must say that the persistence and positive attitude of both Will and Neil was incredibly appreciated! I 100% recommend VIP/Mayflower and will use them again for all of our future moves. read more

Overall very satisfied with my move from DC to Dallas. My initial estimate was comparable to other movers and they even matched to lower of the three quotes I got. On moving day, they arrived on time, carefully moved my prepacked boxes, wrapped my furniture, and even take down my son's crib. My items arrived Dallas within the time window they estimated and on time for delivery at my premises. The delivery was smooth and again they helped put the crib together and asked if I needed any help putting my platform bed together. I did have some items i.e. mugs, plates and two wine glasses that apparently broke during shipment. No big deal for me because they were immaterial. The best part of the move was the communication specifically with Julia. Amazing lady, who takes the time to send you all the information you might or might not need. I even got a refund of about $130 from United saying my actual move weight was less than my billed estimate. How many companies would be that sincere? Not much. read more

Everything about this move was handled expertly from start to finish. The estimator was brilliant and provided a lot of good information, the moving team on the day of the move was top notch, and everything arrived quickly and in perfect shape right on schedule. The move-in team had all my goods in my house, in the right places, promptly and efficiently. And all along the way the moving coordinator was in regular contact, so I was never left guessing or wondering what was going on. Her attention to detail, outstanding helpfulness and dedicated follow-through on everything was truly appreciated. This moving company made my move so easy it was actually enjoyable! The price was very reasonable, too -- and unlike some moves I've had in the past, there were no funny add-ons or strange charges on the final bill (or, as happened with a different mover, a sudden price increase on the day of the move). Our move from Washington, DC to Newark, NJ was seamless. From the beginning visit to give a quote, the logistics coordinator, the packers and the movers of Mayflower Van Lines/VIP Transport all treated our processions and My husband and I like VIP's. The move coordinator Julia Fountain was extremely knowledgable, pleasant to work with and professional. She overcame all our challenging objectives and made what I thought were problems..."no worries". All of our furniture and fragile items were packed and delivered with Total Care. The staff of packers and movers were the kindest caring individuals, making the move very pleasant. I forgot to check a closet and left behind three crates in DC and remembered them once I arrived in Newark. It was my fault for not checking.
