Been coming here for years and years. Always a solid slice. The upside down pizza is out of this world. Guys that work there are top notch.

Stopped by on a Saturday night. Had to be somewhere in Queens and came here to try the "upside down" slice. Specifically came here because of the reviews. Very friendly and attentive staff. The slice. It was amazing. Sauce was perfect, the bottom had the desirable slightly charred crisp. The cheese (great cheese btw) was melted perfectly into the dough. I wish I was hungrier so I could sample more. Sicilian slice, grandma slice, whatever you call it. Cheese on top of dough, and sauce on top, that's what I came for. This is better than L&B. Definitely worth to go out of your way for. Can't wait to come back and try the other slices. read more

Picked up a Sicilian pie today after not coming here for the longest time. I have visited their location in floral park since it's closer to me in glen oaks but not the spot on bell Blvd. I called in an order for a Sicilian pie and walked up and down bell for 20 mins til it was done. I added a spicy chicken slice and some garlic knots to my order when I got there because of the great reviews for the spicy chicken slice. Total for the order was $26, they give you 10 slices in their Sicilian pie so it was decent value for the food. The Sicilian is just like I remember it. It's a really good slice of pizza. I wasn't impressed by the spicy chicken slice, I wouldn't get it again. I also did not like their garlic knots. Way too greasy and not enough garlic flavor. The four stars is on the strength of the Sicilian pizza which is their best product and the thing I would recommend from here. read more

Ive been coming to VIPizza since I was a kid and its just as good now as it was back then. I love their pizza. Last night me and my girls got a plain pie, garlic knots and two spinach pinwheels. The pizza was on point as usual. The pinwheels were too much spinach and not enough cheese. But that doesnt stop me from giving them 5 stars. Will be back again and again lol read more

This place is been here very long. Personally i love their Taco Pizza! There's ground beef and cheddar cheese, onion, red pepper and cilantro. I feel like a bit of sour taste in it. They over charge on purpose since they use old cash register. Order 3 slices and water charged $14. Quick math in your head and should've been 10.75. The owner look like deer caught in headlight. Instead of apologizing. He had ordered his worker to refund me when he was the one that rung me up. Make sure you know your prices and total. I also noticed the difference tone of voice with Asian and non Asian customers. You be the judge should you ever order from this establishment. I enjoy coming here when i'm on Bell. I love the consistency of the crust, and the flavor of the sauce is delicious. Thats no small feat as i feel the sauce is what makes or breaks the pizza. Being a native New Yorker, we don't impress when it comes to pizza. The guys behind the counter are friendly and clearly enjoy their food. My only disappointment is that they don't deliver. :( read more

This is a great spot on bell. The pizza is awesome and the prices are great. They are open late so when you're drinking on bell or getting home late. They have lots of parking in the lot and decent amount of seating. They deliver and have great service. The workers here are so friendly and always are polite. Solid pizza if you like it more saucy than cheesy. Pretty much a staple on Bell blvd and the go to if you're craving pizza.

$2.75 a slice. This is my 2nd best pizza. Compare to my #1, Dani's at kew gardens, V I pizza are more cheese lovers while Dani's is sauce lover. V I pizza' sauce is subtle, you can taste the tomato and the cheese is what is the star, it's good quality cheese. While Dani's is both delicious in cheese and sauce but the sauce at Dani is the difference. Crust is crispy and thin. I wish there was more sauce but it's ok. read more

I love establishments like this that void out the rest of the Bullshit and work on what they are truly good at, I suggest having the giant spinach wheel or pepperoni, I've had the buffalo pizza as well it's very tasty and the crust consistency is on point. My boy Pete works the counter so I will give him a shout out since he is the man and knows exactly what he is doing and how to handle the front end and customer service, hes very entertaining.. believe me! I have been here ever since I was a kid and I really loved the pizza. I visited VIPizza on August 25th 2020 as my aunt made a call for one large pie and a Diet Coke. I decided to pick up the pizza for her since I haven't been there in forever. As I waited to pick up my pizza, I was called up to confirm what I wanted to where I replied "I'm picking up for *insert aunt's name*" and the guy behind the counter was oddly rude and nasty and said "OKAY but what do you want?" And I did add "well I'm picking up for this person but I believe it's a large pie and Diet Coke" and then he continued to be rude and say "go call her and ask because we are very busy and I don't have time for this" and gave me a dirty look while I called my aunt. I was really shocked by how rude he was when I gave him the name and order. I called my aunt to clarify and she said she ordered under her name and the specific food item. After I confirmed to the guy working that it was indeed the name I said and the order (usually when I order pizza I just give the name and what I ordered), he just gave me a dirty look and went to grab my food. After this unsettling interaction, the other worker reprimanded me (he was nicer than the other guy) saying "you need an order number, we are way too busy here. We need a number". I apologized for not having a number but said I was never given a number. I did call back my aunt and she even said she has never been given a number by VIPizza for pick up. If you want to be treated in a rude and harsh manner, VIPizza is the place for you! The pizza is fine, but not a big fan of the service. A great slice with lots of history. Any neighborhood would be honored to have VIPizza as a member. It's a Cheesy slice. A choking hazard nearly. If we took a cross section, it would show a thin layer of crust, followed by a thin sheet of tomato sauce with a few chunks, then a layer of cheese as big as the dough, and finally a layer of pizza grease. Folded and brought to the mouth yields an orange grease leek from the other end. I love seeing the neon colored oil drip on the paper plate, some stays as a puddle, and some gets completely absorbed making the wood grain table visible. At your last bite, an elbow of greased crust. Always a memorable bite. Can any neighborhood spot be legit without great fountain soda? Nope. It's here, plus it's the first time I've had crushed ice in my coke at a pizza parlor in years. Maybe a decade. I can't remember the last time I've had crushed ice. I want more. Great throughput of Queens locals and kids coming out of high school, coming in VIP, ensuring fresh regular slices, but not necessarily specialty slices. The people who run it are nice with a twist and seem to care about their customers as much as their pizza. The regular and Sicilian slices looked the most appetizing to me of the the selections, including rolls and specialty pies. Even the grandma slice covered in chopped onions didn't seem like something I would want - although it probably is great. If I encounter Bell Blvd again, I will have to stop in again for another cheesy slice and a coke with crushed ice. There's not much that beats that. Opened: 1959 Disinction: Bayside's local favorite. I've been telling pizza enthusiasts that pizza is pizza to me. All pizza tasted good in my book, until tonight when I tried the pizza and garlic knots here. I'm not even exaggerating when I say the pizza tasted stale. It was so chewy for some reason...that I ended up eating all the cheese and giving the rest to my dog. This place has gone downhill since the owners sold they place a few years ago. It used to be great but now it's spotty at best. The dough is overworked and tough. Not like it used to be. Also, the last time I went in there, they burned the pizza, then told me that if they made me another one, it would come out the same because that's how it is supposed to be made. One of the best pizza joints in Queens. (Maybe the city?!?!) I've been coming here for the past 7 years and have never been disappointed. They even know that I like a little hot pepper on the side. The crust is not too thick or too thin, and it's got this chewiness that I haven't found in any other slice (chewiness does not equate to tough). The sauce is not acidic and there is enough of it so that you can see the red through the gooey cheese. If you're ever in Bay side and are craving a piece of the pie, go to VI Pizza - always a good slice. read more

We've been ordering from VIPizza for years. Last night I called in a Sicilian for pick-up. When I got there a half hour later they asked if someone else had picked it up. This was fine, not the end of the world. Then it got weird: when I showed the guy the call on my phone, he said that wasn't their number and I must have called Pete's by mistake. I was taken aback and asked for another. They eventually gave me an underdone pizza with much of the cheese pooled to the side of the box. The whole time I felt like an idiot and dreaded if Pete's was going to call angrily demanding that I buy theirs too. The guy was insulting as I left. I checked the number later and found the guy had lied to my face, I had called them. The pizza turned out OK after some cheese redistribution and another 20 minutes in the home oven, but it was a bad experience. VI Pizza has been going downhill since changing management. I miss the old owners and won't be back -- Vesuvio and Pete's are better, cheaper, and actually respect their customers. read more

I give no slack. If one of the three basic components fails, it's a fail. I gather that V 1 is overall and historically better than this pathetic pie. I live in Westchester so I don't get to eat at vip as often. However, whenever I go to Queens, I always make sure to pick up a sicilian pie to bring back home. I don't know how they make their sicilian slices but it is really good. Like really good. The dough is chewy, the cheese is fresh and portioned well, and the sauce has the right amount of sweetness to it. All in all, vip pizza is one of the reasons why I miss Bayside and Queens so much and their other slices are good as well. P.s. Okay, I am updating my review of VI Pizza. I know that I said we would never eat there again, but yesterday we had company and this person was very adamant about ordering from VI, despite my protests. I tried explaining to this person, but they absolutely, positively wanted ONLY VI pizza. I said "Pete's makes heart shaped pies, and it will be 1,000 times better - trust me!" No, this person ONLY WANTS VI. Okay, you'll be sorry I told this person. So we proceeded to order a heart shaped pizza and a meatball calzone from VI. I called in the order early in the (because they needed advanced notice for the heart shaped pizza) and told them I would pick it up at 5:30 p.m. Okay, so get there at 5:25 p.m. I tell them my order and one of the guys says "oh yes, heart shaped pizza and calzone". So he takes an already cooked pie from under the counter. It looked cold, like it was sitting there for a while. I asked him about that, saying "What is that an extra one?" (there was a fresh heart shaped pie cooking in the oven - I saw it when he opened the oven to stick in my pie to "finish it off". Now, not for nothing, and I'm not bragging at all, not by far, but I am a pizza fanatic and have tried almost every pizzeria around on my search for some really awesome pizza. Sort of a pizza connoisseur, if you will. Anyway, the guy goes on to tell me this story of how the pizza needs to be cooked and then settle for a while, otherwise the cheese and sauce will "slide all over the place". Seriously? Hahahahaha. I asked him when it was made, and he told me it came out of the oven 10 minutes previously. Which was obviously not true. More like 20 plus. So he stuck it in his oven for less than 2 minutes, pulled it out and boxed it. Upon just looking at it (it was nice looking - I have a pic), I told him it doesn't even look hot. He assured me it was, and upon picking up the box, the bottom felt warm... not really hot. So, I get the pizza home and (LESS THAN 5 MINUTES IN A WARM CAR), put it on the table, open it up, take a picture and then cut it. The cheese was hard. The crust was hard. I love crust and I couldn't even eat it, it made my teeth hurt. The taste was familiar of old VI pizza - kind of, but not really. The meatball calzone was DISGUSTING. I took one bite of it and immediately spit it out. So did our guest. I will be telling this person I TOLD YOU SO forever!!! But seriously - that meatball calzone was the most disgusting thing ever. I love this place. It is the dictionary definition of a good NYC neighborhood pizzeria. In the 27 years since I've been going there they have been remarkably consistent, with crusts being light and crispy, the sauce tangy and flavorful, and the cheese just right. They have added specialty foods like chicken pizza and spinach wheels, a nice Margherita pizza, but the winner of them all is the "onion Grandma" which in Sicily is known as Sfingione. It's a rectangular slice covered with sweet, finely-chopped onions and lots of Romano cheese. Adding the signature crispy crust, this pizza is a true masterpiece. A while ago they decided not to make it any more, I was disappointed, but shortly afterward it reappeared. When I asked what happened they responded "Grandma took a little vacation". read more

This is the pizzeria of my childhood. I would come here almost every weekend, have a cheese pizza and eat it folded like all the other cool kids at PS203. I moved to California 10 years ago and yet to find a pizzeria as good as this one(in fairness I find myself pinning for all things New York even after all this time) A couple of years ago I visited NY and it was without question that I would stop by VI. The cheese pizzas were just as delicious. And with more mature tastebuds, I tried other items on the menu like the grandma pizza, the sicilian, and, and the garlic knots. Then I ordered again and they over charged me again for a pie and I went back and told them the owner gave me the $3 so quickly like he already knew he over charged me.
