Came in while doing some Black Friday shopping for a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, the…read moreexperience fell a little flat. The store itself felt very cramped, and the inventory was limited, which made it hard to seriously compare options. Pricing also wasn't very appealing -- everything felt inflated, which I'm guessing may be influenced by the surrounding area. What stood out the most was the lack of engagement. There were plenty of staff gathered in the back having a loud conversation, but during the roughly 10 minutes we walked around, no one acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. Because of the tight space, limited selection, and pricing, we ended up leaving without purchasing anything. Not a terrible experience, but not one that encouraged us to stay or return.

Great thanks, I think we could have gone over that over the phone and had it taken care of before the install. The unit wasn't installed for a couple more weeks- I was living out of coolers. Thanks home depot. So next my dishwasher died (I've lived in the unit for 25 years), this time I call Lowe's. Smart me, right? NO. They come by with the dishwasher and tell me they can't install it because the connection (water line to the unit) was too far from the install area (it's maybe 2 feet away). OK thanks Lowe's. That's when I found Smith Appliance. I told them the problem they told me "no problem". A Curteous professional sales person helped me select an appliance (made in u.s.a) in my price range, they have an on-site install guy gave me a price on the spot (happened to be there) and they came and installed it. That was almost a year ago, the thing runs perfectly, very quiet , dishes clean.....my only regret is that I should have dug in discovered this business 30 years ago. My repairs required two visits, but everything was completed efficiently and professionally. The biggest consideration is the cost. The diagnostic fee is $150 per appliance. Although that fee is applied toward the final repair cost if you move forward, it adds up quickly. With a washer, dryer, and range, I had already spent $450 in diagnostic fees before any repairs were completed. Lawrence was my technician, and he was excellent. He communicated clearly throughout the entire process, kept me informed about the repairs, and worked diligently on every appliance I chose to have serviced. His professionalism and dedication made the experience much more positive.

I had been a regular customer of Mr. Appliance in Douglasville, GA for almost ten years, but that…read moreended today. Despite calling them to install or repair multiple appliances in my home over that time, they decided on a recent microwave repair to treat me rather shabbily. The repair technician arrived as normal and performed a diagnostic. He told me the unit needed a new power board, and I agreed to pay for the repair (parts and labor). But, a week later when the part arrived and the technician returned, he learned that a switch was bad. I then agreed to repair this item. He returned that afternoon and installed the new switch. It was only then he discovered that the microwave's power magnetron was broke, and that would have required a third parts order and delay, and advanced the cost of repair way beyond the purchase price of a new microwave of similar size and function. I elected then to replace the microwave, using Mr. Appliance to do so. For the record, the technician agreed with my decision. This is where things went sideways. The technician originally stated that the repair service fee would be applied to the installation, but then I learned that only half that fee would be applied. I attempted to explain the situation, but the company's manager firmly stated that sales and service were two different "companies" within Mr. Appliance and their policies were not going to be altered. I won't go so far as to say this was a manipulation, but I will say that the company was firm in wanting me to pay for the parts that failed to repair the unit and also pay the full cost of replacing the microwave minus only the service call fee. Forcing me to pay for new parts that did not work when Mr. Appliance would have received back all those parts did not strike me as fair treatment. So, I cannot any longer recommend this company.
