I hate going to dealers for anything since they do tend to be more expensive, but the parts guys at Visalia Ford will go out of their way to help you. I have a 95 F450 (F-SuperDuty) with a powerstroke Diesel and my surge tank for my cooling system blew a seam (See my review of Zylstra Automotive in Visalia for the story on that). It turns out that the tanks were on backorder for weeks and I need my truck! The parts guys went looking through the parts catalogue and found a surge tanks for a 2006 diesel trucks was close enough with some slight modifications Removing the old washer bottle and surge tank bracket makes a place large enough to install both tanks along with a 1/2" to 3/4" hose reducer. 1 month later and a lot of hard driving and no problems. Ther were used stock surge tanks for sale on Ebay but who wants a 22 year old plastic tank? This is not the first time the have given me a good suggestion. Thanks Visalia Ford parts guys! read more

I was referred to Brent Able at Visalia Ford because Future Ford in Fresno could not find any problem with my Ford F-250 even though I had to get it towed and jumped several times. Brent determined the problem within 15 minutes and proved that a sensor was the problem within a couple of hours. Future Ford had my truck for almost 2 weeks and still did not know what to do with it. I appreciate the willingness of Brent to take on a job that another dealership could not handle. My wife and I went in to potentially buy a Ford Fiesta. We had gone to two other Ford dealerships prior to this one and we were hoping to get a really good deal compared to the first two. I can gladly say that we left very happy and with a new car. For starters, the salesman was extremely nice, professional, and gave a sincere impression that he wanted to provide us with a deal we could be happy with. In fact, there was a point where we were confused over an issue of the rebates that were being offered. The salesman immediately got the manager who came over and explained how it worked. The manager was also very kind and extremely informative on how much profit they (as a dealership) get between buying a car from the manufacturer and selling it to the customer. My wife and I are very particular, so we had all the paperwork to look at including their own invoice they received from the manufacturer on the cost they paid for the vehicle and what the MSRP was going for. With that in hand, we knew exactly what was the profit margin for the dealership. What does that mean for us? It means that the salesman and manager at this dealership were transparent in their offer. As such, we were able to strike a bargain that was more affordable to us. Lastly, after already settling on the price and APR, the manager came back for final signatures and was able to get our APR down a little bit more. This showed to me that they honestly cared in getting us the best deal, even when it didn't necessarily help them in terms of profit. If we ever want a Ford vehicle in the future again, I would not hesitate to first stop at the Visalia dealership and see what they can offer. A great dealership! read more

I made an appointment yesterday at 1 to take my car in for the engine light coming on and my ignition key sticking. Art has been the most helpful, caring and empathizing person I have ever dealt with. I normally have to take my car to Porterville ford since its closer to where I live but they seem to mess my car up even more every time it goes in. So i decided to bring it to the Visalia ford dealership on Ben maddox/mineral king. I very much appreciate the professionalism Art has displayed and the superb customer service he demonstrates! Once there is no leverage for the customer, such as vehicle is paid off, there will be no response to customer's needs. Any communication will be one way, "trade your 3 year old Ford for a new Ford". Recalls will not be done, will actually tell customer "go to Exeter, Tulare, or Hanford to get work done". Right now, a recall item is to be checked (door pawls, 5 minutes tops), but Service Manager, Arin Partida (737-6030), said "we're not going to do that; I used to work in Exeter, go to Ford there". Remember when Razzari Svc. and Parts Mgr. took service quality personally, and made sure work was done excellently? NOT NOW. Now, they have the Rental Care scam going on, no more shuttle when paying high dollar to get vehicle transmission fixed again, again, and again (3X!!!). read more

Nothing went well with my service experience and even escalated to a point of extreme stress and disappointment. This was supposed to be a simple oil change and tire rotation. Upon bringing my vehicle in, I specifically ask if my oil change service would be covered by the maintenance program that I purchase during the sale of my vehicle. This was my first oil change since the purchase and I was told it would be, so I needed to make sure before continuing. After a few clicks and checks on the computer, I was told yes it is covered, but the tire rotation would not be part of that program. I agreed. When the service was completed, I was then told that I would need to be charged for the oil service because, the maintenance program is only in effect at the dealership from which I purchased the vehicle. She then included this is a common error from that dealership. I replied, why did you tell me it was included at the begin, if in fact it wasn't, because it would of given me the opportunity to continue with the service or not, now I do not have a choice. I do not think that this is fair to me or any customer because I was initially told it was included before service was started. I hope this is not a regular practice in your service department. If it is, it is misleading. While I still paid for the service, I felt that I would take it up with the dealership who sold me the vehicle and program. I requested to speak to a manger and spoke with Ashley. They both did not understand the mistake that they made. Which is very concerning to me as it should be to you. I asked for at least a courtesy change. They said they would add it to the notes. How that would turn into an actual compensation, that is yet to be seen. My experience does not end there. I get into my car and checked the tire pressure system to see if in fact that my tire rotation was done. I found that it was done because one of the tires was still low in air pressure but now was in front right position where previously it was back right. I immediately went back in to ask if tire pressure check is including in a tire rotation, and was told yes. I then said the tire pressure still shows low. She then said that, I need to drive the car around to reset the system. In my opinion, the tire rotation service is not complete if the customer has to reset anything after service. Would you agree that this is such a simple step that a customer should not have to par take in. What a failed opportunity that your team missed for very little effort or are they just unwilling to go beyond work requested. I drove the car to my house and yes the system reset but, it still showed a tire with low pressure in its rotated position. I immediately called Ashley to explain my tire pressure condition and she immediately became defensive and argumentative. She could not even bring herself to just say, "We are sorry please bring the car back". Instead she offered an excuse that the tire pressure system could be failing and that I would need to bring the car back so that they can verify what I was talking about. This was not a major mechanical issue, it's just a low tire pressure. That is the worst thing someone in a service industry should do and as a manager is totally inconceivable. A simple I am sorry for the mistake. I told Ashely, I do not have the time to bring the car back to just to put air in my tire and that I was just calling in hopes that she would just apologize for the mistake and that maybe she would be great full for the information so that it can be passed down to her staff to do better and look out for the mistakes. Instead, she was rude and completely oblivious to the importance of customer service and more over how to deal with mistakes that staff can sometimes make which I am very sure was unintentional. It is very apparent that your service department needs to have better customer service training and not acceptable for a person in a management position. I would not bring my car there ever again and would certainly share this experience with my family and friends, because I would not wish this to happen to any of them. This is only the 2nd Ford I purchased, the car before this was an Explorer. My wife has family members that work for Ford for many years. The Ford brand always reminds me of the time in history where Good Character meant something. Respect, Caring and Honesty are traits we should strive to posses and teach each other in family and community. As I said, I would not bring my business there again because the trust is broken. I am not saying this with anger (no one is without faults including myself), I am just passing along information to you, in hopes again that you may take this as an opportunity to share with your staff on how to be better. Went in today to look and possibly purchase a new truck. Walking the lot at 9:15 am as the dealership opens. While looking at a truck a salesman says good morning and we start talking, I ask what truck or suv have the best incentives. He replied all of them. I ask how much and he says I'm not sure. Went to look a t the new Ford Ranger asked salesman what's the rebates and he kept answering in not sure. Told him my situation and he said, let take it for a drive and go from there. Got back to the dealership went inside was greated by I assumed a manager and he said they would work with me to get the best deal. Asked my salesman to give me a ruff estimate of the price with incentives before running credit. He said ok and I signed papers as he agreed to give me a price before running credit. He comes back with my credit report and no price on truck. At this point I'm furious. We go over and come to an agreed payment and down payment. He leaves comes back a few times while trying to negotiate price and payment, then one last time he leaves and comes back with my keys and my papers. He says we cant work with you on this you need over 10,000 down. Thanks for not listening when I said dont run my credit untill I get a estimated price and wasting my time. DO NOT go to this Ford dealer, I am super upset I got my car engine light on, ABS system off, tracking control off, air bags off, check parking aid, see manual sign and they told me because The gas tank was empty that is what cause all the lights on ... OMG can you believe that. I took my car back fill up the gas tank got on freeway for about 5 miles then my car just stopped running I called them again and the manager guy just said "oh that's weird" yes it is really weird because those lights dont turn on if you don't fill up the gas tank. So I am now on freeway waiting for tow truck to tow my car to different Ford dealer. A police officer pulled me over when he saw me with my emergency light on and he even shake his head while hearing me call this Ford dealer ... We're 21 year owners of Ford vehicles. Three months ago we dropped our King Ranch off for a service visit. It sat there for 7 hours until we inquired about the status and they said they didn't have time to look at it . The service manager was good enough to explain the situation and apologize. Five months later we gave them another chance after a lot of good service at Monarch and the vehicle sat for 6 hours on a drop off. The end result was a warranty that was 4 days out of warranty and the service department wasn't willing to call ford for their customer. Additionally, my wife was quoted 1100 dollars for a new battery. They did provide us with a Ford customer service number. Ford customer care was very receptive to a vehicle that was 4 days out of warranty needing a new battery and a customer who paid $115 for a diagnostic to determine the battery was bad. We're a Ford family but we'll be going to Hanford or Exeter. read more

Well...I had a worse "Al" experience than Sally H. And, despite the owner's apologies for the unprofessional behavior that Al demonstrated, Al is still working there clearly messing up sales potentials and customer relations. It seems many car dealerships have learned that they benefit more when their front and back sales staff DON'T play all the unscrupulous shell games with their customers. However, our experience was like living a script out of a bad movie and, we could check off just about all of the tactics listed in consumer articles about highly questionable sales practices. I brought my vehicle in for last-gasp servicing and got an over-the-top estimate for repairs which meant I needed to consider buying a new car. I put a lot of homework into my choices and was clear from the minute I went to this dealer about my vehicle choice, accessories & options, had shopped the prices, knew that I may need to wait for the right vehicle AND identified MY lender (Ally Bank which had already agreed to finance my next vehicle). I told them up front all of my terms, with the sales person saying "great" "okay". Easy, right? Oh no. They subjected us to the unnecessary back and forth dickering around with no particular purpose that could have been right out of the text book on what NOT to do. THREE hours later, after the fourth time the salesman disappeared into the back room for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, Al came out of hiding just as described by Sally H. Sloppy, unprofessional, annoyed. He was clearly inconvenienced that I didn't just "go along" with their nonsense. He glared, stared, didn't answer questions. He downright refused to provide an offer to me in writing when I asked for one and said "I gave it to you already" in a condescending tone. When I pointed out I wanted it in writing, not verbal, he stared at me without saying anything, and was clearly angry. Then, after all this time, he tells me "Ally Bank is not one of our affiliates, we have a 100 others you can choose from". That's when I got angry. I left, making sure they knew that he completely blew the sale and that I wouldn't do business with them. We started to drive off the lot and the salesman was running after our car, "wait, wait". We didn't stop but he did catch up to us when we had to stop for traffic. He said "it turns out that we DO work with Ally Bank after all". We did not go back in. When I got home, I went to the Ally site and saw that the dealership actually is NOT affiliated. So, they were, once again, lying to get me back in the showroom for more deceptive negotiating. Who was lying to us at that point? The deceit clearly had begun at the gate and continued throughout the visit. I don't get paid for time off work. They wasted half of my day and I am tempted to send an invoice to them for the time they wasted. I got the distinct impression that assumptions were being made based on our appearances, gender and age. And, no, I didn't call the owner on his "personal" number provided in Sally H's review. The number is the generic store number. And, clearly, the apology is insincere since Al is still working there. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. read more

Everyone is very friendly (Art in particular was very nice) and the shuttle service is an excellent idea. It's really helpful particularly when you are a one car household. I/we were a bit disappointed that the water for the windscreen wipers was not checked and filled at the service and also disappointed that after having the car for 9 hours that the recall issue (door latch) was still not addressed. This means we have to return the car to have this sorted which obviously means is another day that we will be without the car. It wasn't until I FOLLOWED up at close to 5pm that I was made aware of this (I dropped the car off at 7.30am). This was a little annoying and frustrating. On the whole though and going by past experience I will certainly use Ford Service again and just hope communications and small issues like the water reservoir etc are addressed in future. read more

We have been traveling since 11/26/16 and have met a lot of nice people, but when our front brakes needed repair we were given the number for Visalia Ford. We are in town for a week and when I called they immediately worked us in. Mr Timothy Rice very graciously took care of our needs. The 45K maintenance, complete brake assessment and repair of front brakes and replacement of broken taillight in under 2 hours. Very impressive! read more

Took my truck in for a issue with the engine running rough. Told them I thought it was a solenoid. They supposedly did a diagnostic test and said it wasn't but recommended new spark plugs. I said ok and asked them to replace valve cover gaskets. Five days later I had to call to see about picking up truck, said they had an issue with another vehicle so they took technician from my truck to help another tech. Finally got my truck and a few days later noticed a leak coming from the intake manifold and running down back of engine. Call to speak to Ken who took my truck in but had to leave a voicemail. I never got a call back, so I took it to Will Teirsera Ford in Tulare. They diagnosed the problem and there was a crack in the manifold which should have been spotted buy the tech at Visalia Ford. This leak was the reason why my truck was running rough. No more Visalia Ford there service is terrible and work is below average!! Bruce A. read more

We had to have our car towed here after we had engine problems up in Sequoia National Park while we were on a road trip. Larry, who seemed to be the head of the service department, was very friendly and helpful. They were quick, the shop was clean, and pricing seemed very reasonable (although our work was covered under warranty). They offered information about rental cars and a discount with Enterprise and when we decided against that, they gave us a free ride and pick up with their customer shuttle. We won't exactly be back, since we live in Seattle, but I would certainly recommend this place if you need service work done. read more

I am so disappointed in Groppetti in Visalia, Ca. I took my Ford F-150 truck in on 3/23/17 because of a misfire. They said it was #8 plug and coil, so I gave them the go ahead to repair it, they told me I should replace all the other plugs which I did. Took the truck back 5/5/17 because the misfire continues. I kept checking back everyday, I was told they cannot find the misfire, and they have already spent so much time on my truck it would have to stay longer. I picked the truck up yesterday 5/10/17 in a.m. A few hours later a person named Nathan called me and I told him my concern that the truck wasn't fixed and how disappointed I was. he said to bring it back in for further extensive testing that would cost $600.00 but he would forgo the charge. I told him that I felt uncomfortable bringing it back in and that I would like to be reimbursed because the problem was not fixed.He said I will not get any money back unless I bring the truck back to them to do more testing I asked him why it was not done when it was at the shop and he said they did not have the time. Wow I have never, ever, dealt with such incompetence, rudeness, and lack of customer satisfactiion. They had my truck from Fri to Wed. no tiime, no time, I am going to go to another dealership for an opinion and take further action. The Government gives the dealership money to correct problems like this it is called a p11, I reminded Nathan of that, he started talking over me, I told him I will take the dealership to Small Claims court, he said "Go Ahead you won't win" Wow, Just Wow, So Folks after all of this, I hope you drive right past this dealership and go to a bigger city where they know how to treat customers and value them. read more

I am very disappointed in Visalia Ford. I brought my Mustang in and explained my problem. My car keeps dying out while driving and I am experiencing a high idle upon start. I leave the car for a couple of days and call them back and they said they can't find anything wrong with it, My car dies while driving and continues to do so much that it has now become an accident waiting to happen. It was explained to me that my car is operating within 5% of factory settings. That is 5% that it is out of whack! Got a call first thing Monday morning from their service manage Orrin. He offered to pick up my vehicle from work. They picked it up the next morning by 9am and had it back, issues fixed and washed inside and out by 4pm. I would recommend dealing with him directly if you have any issues, do not schedule with call center. read more

Visalia Ford uses the classic shady car salesman techniques. They were very vague in their price negotiations with me by wanting to only show me what my "Monthly Payment" would be. When I asked for a more formal price quote and complete cost breakdown, they pretended to not understand what I needed. Their bulldog, Al, then swooped acting offended that I was questioning their integrity and tried to convince me that they were acting in my best interest by not confusing me with all the numbers. They then acted inconvenienced by me requiring so much transparency in their price quotes. When they finally brought me the cost breakdown, the price of the vehicle was greater than the sticker on the windshield. They also tried to sneak in an "After Sales Markup" fee. I found it suspicious that this pricing typo was conveniently in their favor and why is a markup fee necessary if they already marked up the cost of the vehicle from their invoice price? Visalia Ford's sales tactics are far from unique; however, there are more transparent and forthcoming dealerships that won't make you work so hard to make sure you are getting a fair price and paying only for service that you need. UNPROFESSIONAL. HIGH PRESSURE. SHADY TACTICS. ENTITILED STAFF. I made an appointment with Donny after he contacted me through a Costco auto program inquiry I made. We set an appointment up. Upon arrival I found out he apparently double booked himself and was with another client. This is after I took a half day off and drove 45 minutes out of my way. He passed me off to another salesperson that was at first friendly but became increasingly more pushy. I test drove the truck I was interested in and then asked to go inside to discuss pricing details. Boy was I wrong in thinking this would be a simple "no hassle" process of receiving the Costco member pricing... I was told I need to "commit" to buying the truck before she would give me the pricing. When I refused she got up to go "talk" with someone. My tolerance for BS is very low these days so I called Costco Auto and reported this dealer for breaking protocol. 1. Visalia Ford didn't offer me the prearranged pricing as promised. 2. The dealer contact did not seemed trained nor interested in using the Costco program. 3. The experience was not smooth. It was not seamless. It was downright shady. 4. This dealer uses Costco's good name to ambush people with old fashion high pressure car sales tactics. I am now working with Lithia Ford in Fresno and the difference is night and day. If you are a Costco member interested in using Costco Auto to buy a Ford, avoid Visalia Ford at all costs!!! The same goes for any other buyer. read more

I am giving this 1 Star to The dealership ( Aaron on the other hand deserves 5 stars) but over all I am actually going to focus this review on Al ~ Al is the guy that Aaron had to go back and forth to till my husband finally said "I can talk to Al directly if you like" to which Aaron agreed and brought out Al. Let me back up and mention that my husband and I were clearly looking to do business with Visalia Ford and wanted to discuss options in a professional manner. We had driven from Hanford on this rainy Sunday in hopes of making a good deal, or at the very least being able to meet with an experienced professional sales person. "We got Al." From the moment Al stepped in my first impression was " oh no" by the look on his face I could see that we had perhaps interrupted his comfortable spot on his office chair and how dare we make him get out of it!! He looked as if he had just rolled out of bed after consuming perhaps a few pizza's the night before and than discovered his work shirt underneath him. Though wrinkled he put it on anyways and headed to work that Sunday morning. He was gruff in his mannerism and hastily shook our hands and blurted out " What can I do for you?" It wasn't the same as in a friendly " How can I help you?" He proceeded to point out with his finger tapping rudely at the numbers on the sheet in front of us that this is it! He went on being rude and very loud making me so uncomfortable and embarrassed that I excused myself from the table & walked away. What disturbed me the most was watching this grotesque man treat my husband so disrespectfully. My husband is a professional man. Being a Sales executive himself in Visalia, he would never treat anyone the way Al was treating him, not even on a bad day. So was it wrong for me to think that my husband and I should have been treated with professional friendliness? I was appalled. I could easily have looked past Al's unprofessional attire if he had acted like a decent person & had treated us right. Instead I watched him turn red while raising his voice to my husband. I wanted to walk right back over there and tell my husband " let's go now!" But instead I kept silent and watched my husband in his cool professional manner, gather up his paperwork & Thanked Al for his time. Al was already up and leaving back to the stank comfort of his office where he could plant his ass. My husband still putting his papers in his folder than extended his hand shake to Aaron. Aaron all the while had looked terribly uncomfortable the moment Al was presented to us. He shook his hand and together we thanked him for all he did for us. He actually drove the three cars that we wanted to compare under the awning ( it was raining) so that I could go through each one. The one word my husband and I both shared and agreed about Al was that he was a Royal A --hole. We will never return here to do business again nor would we ever recommend this place to our friends, colleagues, or any business associates that my husband deals with. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! This dealer ship runs a lot of scams and are extremely dishonest. Chris Ford contacted me by e-mail very clearly stating that they had someone interested in buying the car we purchased last year. He said we could get a 2018 Explorer with no money down and keep our monthly payment about the same. I said sure, send me the particulars. Well after getting my wife excited about a new car. Basically everything he told me in writing was a absolute lie! #1 He didn't have anyone interested in our car. #2 The payments were $350.00 per month more than our current monthly payment of $469.00 per month. I don't know about you but as a local educator here in Fresno County and a Veteran that is no where close to our current payment. I have only owned Fords since 1979 and would never ever do business with Visalia Ford if someone forced me to with these shady folks. I wish I could say that it was at the salesperson level, but I called and talked to a Manager named Wayne Tinsley. He said that he saw nothing wrong with this type of shady misleading scam. I got a estimate of time to look at my truck for $230, i I figured that that was fine because they told me if I got the work done there it would be taken off the total amount and they did have to do quite a bit of research and looking at the truck to find the problem. They called me back the next day at 9:30 AM which I figured the mechanic probably got there at eight so it took them an hour and a half labor. I was quoted $1600 to do the work. I thought that was a little high so I declined the work. Still charge me $230 for probably about a half hour of labor. I found the parts needed for $250 and had my 19-year-old son do the work in about 45 minutes. I then read the paperwork that they gave me about what the mechanic did. He test drove it, looked at the front end and said it was wheel bearings maybe a half hours worth of work, cost=$230. read more
