This place was pretty busy on a Friday evening for dinner, so it seems like people enjoy it. However nothing really impressed me. The food was alright, the servers were nice, decor was good and overall a so-so place. It's a simple concept w traditional dishes, but nothing really scream's amazing.

I tried the Lunch Buffett at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. This place is purely vegetarian and is affiliated with the famous chef - 'Vishnu Manohar'. This restaurant famously serves 'Maharashtrian food cooked home style with healthy ingredients'. Let me be frank with you guys, I just avoid going to places that are purely vegetarian because you never know what you'll end up getting, sometimes the food is sweet, sometimes the greens that they offer are not a part of your diet or maybe they don't have enough options for you to get excited about. So, when my friends suggested this place, I was a bit skeptical, to say the least. This restaurant just blew me away. Let's talk about food; they had a couple of fried appetizers (mix pakora and palak pakora) Dal, rice, a few entrees (Chloe, aloo-bhindi and cabbage) and a couple of deserts (Gulab Jamun and Mango phirni) along with papad and soup. I never got the chance to try the soup but my god the rest of the food was delicious. The aloo-bhindi was the star of the afternoon. It was authentic Maharashtrian tasting and the potatoes were so soft it would just melt in our mouths. Dal had the home style flavor and tasted excellent with rice and Chloe. Over to the deserts section, Gulab Jamun was typical and nothing fancy, but the mango phirni was just unbelievable. Papad was ok, I mean it's papad, what more do you expect? For $15, this Buffett was an absolute steal. The soul of Maharashtra can be felt after tasting the food here. I wanted to try the much talked about Misal-Pav but I was told they don't serve that during lunch Buffett which was a bummer. Not everything on the menu would be called cheap but it's reasonable. There are times in your life living outside of your home town that you wish for some 'Ghar ka Khana' (home cooked food) and this place just hits you with nostalgia. It's almost an exact replica of what you would get, food wise at least, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The authentic Dal with rice, the bhendi sabji paired with soft, home cooked style roti and the Chloe would just remind you of home. The lunch Buffett was extremely satisfying and kept us full for the rest of the evening (quite literally). Do give this place a visit if you're in the mood to give Maharashtrian food a try.

Having lived in Mumbai for 21 years, Maharashtrian food is very close to my heart and this restaurant did complete justice to it. This restaurant is owned by a famous chef in India. I would highly suggest trying Kothambir wadi (coriander is the key ingredient), sabudana vada (tapioca), vada pav, misal pav and thali peeth. We've also tried other dishes like pitla bhakar and they taste good as well. In terms of the food and taste, this restaurant has been consistent. Now, people would argue but you can definitely try it once (don't completely rely on the bad star ratings that the restaurant has got). Now, the service is a little slow because they are short staffed and in these difficult times I believe to support local restaurants. I highly recommend the food here, plus reasonable prices. You got a good deal

Visited this restaurant on a Sunday for lunch and was extremely pleased with my food and overall experience. The Sunday lunch was $13.99 from 11:30 to 2:30 and it was a vegetarian buffet that consisted of simple Maharashtrian food that was filled with flavor yet felt light and healthy! The menu had a lot of variety in terms of small bites, various Subjis (curries), and a pleasant surprise of roti's as opposed to naan's. This was a pleasant lunch experience that I will definitely remember when I visit again!

4.5 Stars... maintaining such good quality even after many years. Well done Madam..... small tip, pls put less ajinomotto in chinese dishes, it was way too high. Some Butter up from top will make it the best pavBhaji & DalMakhani in town. 5 stars otherwise and good portions

Namaste We were at VKR to eat buffet. The variety of dishes was incredible. Fantastic tasting too. Also they had Poori in the buffet. The pakoras were awesome. Bindi do pyaaza melted my heart. It had the right amount of spices. Kadi was wonderful. I enjoyed Cauliflower soup also. The vegetarian food was so good that it could have given famous Indian restaurants in India stiff competition. I ate a lot. But when I saw Shrikand there, the food in my stomach gave way for the Royal sweet dish. The most important thing, I saw many people doing service there. Not 1was looking at their mobile device. I admire the dedication and commitment to the customers. Hearty congratulations. Best wishes for continued success.

Food was great! Service could be better but worth the wait. The place looks alright it could be cleaner but if you want to try vegan Indian food, this is the place to go.

We ordered Pithale Bhakri & Zunka Bhakri for lunch today. The size of the Bhakris were pretty small & just by the look & feel it was not fresh. Very disappointed that they do this on & off. The Pithale & Zunka was good.

I placed my order, but the team here seems really disorganized...even spacey. I wound out up waiting 15 minutes for the most disappointing nachos I've ever had. I remember having nachos at the dollar theaters in the 80's and 90's, and that would've been a massive upgrade from the dish I was served. Never confuse vegan with healthy, the two are not mutually exclusive, so when you are eating nachos from here being in the saltiest most basic chips, do not be surprised. They are just the base to the monstrosity that is Vegan Vibrationz nachos. While there was definitely care in assembling the nachos, the flavors were just not great and the time it took to get the nachos was just ridiculous. The main binder was a slightly spicy sauce squirted on some lettuce and tomato with beans. I really think my order was forgotten and then when I was inquiring about it over and over, they finally assembled the nachos. Overall, not the best experience and the nachos were blah. I love the idea of a vegan place to eat at Legacy Food Hall, but the food and the service here missed the mark.

I can't say it's my favorite like other Yelpers but again I am just happy for the plantbased option. Like all the Hall, be prepared to overspend.

For my main entrée I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked decently. I do wish there was a little bit more seasoning on it. The french fries were a miss for me as they are cooked in a fry cooker and just don't have the same flavor that regular fries too. I understand the concept for this place is healthy eating but the fries just didn't have that crunch to them and tasted soggy. Our server was delightful and I enjoyed how attentive she was.

This place is cooking with purpose, flavor, and a boldness that puts even the most seasoned soul food spots on notice. Let's talk about that Fried Chick'n. I've eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life real, seasoned, Southern, bone-in, boneless, you name it. And not one has made me stop mid-bite and say, "Wait... this is vegan?" The outer crisp was perfection golden, light, and just enough crunch to command attention. But the inside? Soft, juicy, meaty. They didn't just imitate chicken. They improved it. Fool me any day if this is the standard. But I didn't stop there. I went full Sunday plate on a Saturday: Cornbread dressing: Moist, savory, and nostalgic in the best way. Yams: Like dessert, but not overly sweet. Silky smooth and soul-warming. Collard greens: Seasoned like somebody's auntie who don't measure nothing but knows exactly what she's doing. Mac and cheese: Creamy, rich, layered, no shortcuts, no weird vegan aftertaste, just yes. Everything on that plate was so good my foodie partner had to physically stop me from diving in face-first. Had they not pulled me back, I would've left with nothing but crumbs, a smear of yam glaze, and regrets for not documenting the magic. The space itself at the Frisco Fresh Market is welcoming laid-back but intentional. The service and energy is grounded in community, flavor, and something sacred that goes beyond food. This isn't just about being plant-based, it's about being rooted. Chopping Roots is proof that vegan soul food doesn't have to compromise. It just has to be done right. And they absolutely did it right. Frisco, you've been blessed. Don't sleep on this spot. #HayiaSophiaFaves #ChoppingRoots #VeganSoulDoneRight #FlavorOverEverything

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
